Comparision between single Plant and multiplant.
I am doing practice for creation of one organization structure,
At the starting i have one plant under which their are 3 storage location located in different cities.
The Value of material is same in all cities, now i think define each storage location as plant, then what effect will get on the
business.
Can anyone explain me the advantages of multi -plant against single plant?
which process is beneficiary for business process?

1 ) see first storage location never situated far way from plant its in different cities it should be plant or warehouse or depo
If manufacturing activities happen there then it should be plant
If its only for saleing purpose ,then it will depo ,or only storing purpose it will warehouse
pupose of this ( if you have all three plants ,you get valuvation differntly for each plant )
If you have single plant ,no mater but valuvation will be at single plant level,you cannt get valuvation per citied for you business for you material and releates things
my suggestion consider it plant or depo if it in differnt cities

Trading Goods say A gets imported to India. Issue was :
1) We need to issue Excise invoice only to few customers. So, we thought of treating one batch as excise batch and remaining as non excise batch per day.
2) Stock price varies every day being batch wise produced in say Singapore.
Means Mateiral is A but price varies evey day and because of the duty payment also gets varied. For a single material master we do have different prices for each batch and also excise/non excise scenario. So, how can I get material value for each of this combinations in the system and how to identify the same.
Because of the above reasons, we thought of having two plants. I can not configure depot here because cleint requires single plant for each state as of now.
Am I clear? If not, pls let me know,

spro-> CRM->master data->cross system assignment of organization units <-|
-> assign plant and storage location to service organization unit.
when we change the stor.location it gives us the error message -
target key must be different from source key.

The variables BATCHNO, PCSBOX and AMOUNT are defined as scalar variables. Check there definition

You cannot use BULK COLLECT on scalar variables. The variables must be defined as a COLLECTION TYPE in order to perform bulk collect. -

Copy Means
This function is for creating a new plant using the settings for an existing plant as your template.
In copying of plant system copy all the objects into the new plantso you can work on them and chnge wherever you require. While in creating a new plant you have to define everything from scratch.
SAP always recommends to copy the plant from standard template of 0001 or 1000 so that it considerably reducing the time required for maintenance.

Per Diem Calculations for Single Day and Multiple Days
Hi Gurus
I have just now confronted a weird calculation of Per Diems.
I have configured Per Diems for 1 Day say $50 per Day, irrespective of the no.of hours.
When I create a trip for a single day, the system is calculating $50 Per DIem for one day.
Whereas, when I create a trip for 3 days, the system is calculating only for Two days i.e, $50x2=$100 and not $150 as expected, meaning the lfirst and seond day gets calculated and the last day is not getting calculated
Please let me know where I am missing the little configuration in order to let the system calculate for multiple days correctly ?
This is an urgent requirement please.....Need help.

For example:
a) V_T702N_D
b) Your per diem table
I think if you have checked 24 hours in V_T702N_D , then please verify the trip duration on PR05
If it was working earlier then below might help you...
For Example:

End date/time 25-July-2011 Time 00:00
Here above number of days are three (23,24,25) but calculation for meals shall be done for two days, because for three days per diem calculation it shall be 48:01 Hours above is 48 Hours..
Please try in PR05 and check the results.

Key figure comparision between current year and previous year
Hello collegues,
I have created a WEB Intelligence report with key figure ROI (return on investment which is calculated out of three other key figures (capital, revenue and costs). I would now like to calculate the percentage period (year) differences between key figure ROI - between current year (month) and previous year (month).
Do I have to add coding within a key figure formula within WEBI Rich Tech client or within universe builder.
The key figures were extracted from SAP BW and added to a universe which is basis for WEBI rich tech client report.

RS 232 port to communicate between cFP 2100 and Multiple cFP 1808
Hello All,
I am using one cFP-2100 (controller) and two cFP-1808 (network contoller) for a project.
All the three devices have Ethernet port, so i can connect to a network switch for communicating with the Host PC.
My question is:
All the three devices have Serial Ports (RS 232) too, Can i use those ports to communicate between the three devices (1 controller and 2 Net. controllers) and use the ethernet port in the controller (2100) only for communicating with a Host PC?
If this is possible, how to do the RS 232 cabling ?

What are the similarities/differences between SCO Unixware 7 and SUN Solaris 8/7 Storage device drivers. I meant to say that if I am having Unixware 7 driver then to what extent will it be helpful to me to develope the driver(supporting the same hardware) on Solaris7/8
Do you mean taking the source of a Unixware driver and porting it to solaris?
If so, the core of the driver should be the same, as you'd expect.
However you'll have to add all the entry points and ensure it is Solaris DKI/DDI compliant.
If you haven't already done so, take a look at Writing Device Drivers, which you'll find under the Solaris 7 Software Developers Collection at http://docs.sun.com. Also the manual pages in section 9 of the Reference Manual collection, and also other docs available at http://soldc.sun.com.
Start with the device tree, autoconfiguration, and loading and unloading drivers.
I'm sorry I can't be more help, because Unixware is not my thing.
If you have more specific questions I'll try to answer them.

*1.)* I have a web site having database in oracle 10.2.0 and multimaster replication configured on it. But whenever i need to change the structure of the tables i
need to stop replication. So my web site is unavailable but my first priority is availability. So will it be useful for me to configure data guard.
*2.)* I have configured data guard for testing . My Database is Named as Gard and physical standby database is like stan.
it is working fine.
suppose my main database server get corrupted i have no option to start main database server. Now i left with only standby server how i can start standby server
as database main server.
*3.)* Is there any if main database stop working Standby database start working as main without dba intervention.

first of all you should be aware that Dataguard and Replication are two completely different things.
While the database where you replicate to is always up and open in read write mode, a physical standby can either be recovering or open in read only mode.
1.) I think from what you are telling you probably should consider using dataguard with a logical standby database, but be aware that there will be some limitations regarding datatypes.
2.) you can do a failover or a switchover, depending on your database version switchback may not be possible
3.) have a look at dataguard broker, you can use it to automate the failover

Reconcilation- single RO and multiple ITresource- lookup group recon
I added ITresource as key,
usecase:
for server1 i have some groups(ITresource1)--> i want run lookup recon for the server1 and ITresource1 to get server 1 groups
for server2 i have some groups(ITresource2)--> i want run lookup recon forthe serve2 and ITresource2 to get server 2 groups
In RO when i select the ITresource1, i have to get server1 groups(in lookup) only
