Comparison : JBOSSMQ v/s JMS for a chat messenger

Thanx
Actually , I have already started using JMS for the chat messenger.
But i am facing problem regarding creating dynamic queues or implement this dynamic queue feature anyways.
Plz tell me the advantages of using JBOSS MQ over jms and comparison b/w the two if you can give.
Thanx

I would second that. Separate queues for separate interfaces gives much better control and flexibility. It may not be very important when you have only a few interfaces, but in future as you will keep adding more interfaces it will become important to control each interface independently depending on priority, load etc which you can easily achieve if you are using different queues.
Some specific advantages of separate queues for separate interfaces:
1. You can pause/resume consumption of messages for a specific interface. For ex. if your environment is facing performance issues because of overload you may want to pause low priority messages while continue processing high priority or critical messages. Obviously this will be for short term and you may want to look at sizing of your environment as the long term solution to the problem.
2. You can configure different delivery parameters for different interfaces if you are using separate queue. So you can set one interface to provide reliable messaging by retrying failed messages automatically while you may configure the failed messages to be logged and not retried for another interface.
3. You can independently do performance tuning for separate interfaces. For ex. you may configure more concurrent processing for an interface which will receive higher load compared to other interfaces.

  • Requirement for chat messenger : JBOSSMQ or Just JMS

    **what should i use for a chat messenger , just JMS or jboss mq series
    **can i use only one queue for all clients,will it be feasible
    Thanx

    Use JMS to pass messages to a server and from the server to all clients and use MDB on the server side to receive those JMS messages

  • Why do I get the error message for video chat only with a select few?  :(

    I've been trying for weeks trying to get video chat going to a few people with my invitation for video chat timing out and giving me the error message. At first I thought it may be the other people's systems, but they told me I was the only one in their list that this happens. With a few people it works just fine; is it my setup? I have an Airport Base Station connected to the DSL modem and running WIFi in the house and a Power Mac G5 with ethernet going to the Base Station.
    Please give me an heads up what might be the issue. Thanks in advance!!!
    Here's the error message I've clicked on to send to Apple with zero feedback:

    Hi,
    Welcome to the    Discussions
    So we have DSL Modem <-> Base Station <-> Computer connected by Ethernet.
    Is the Modem Routing ?
    Is the Base Station set to "Share An IP" ?
    (i.e are there two DHCP servers on your LAN ?)
    Is Internet Sharing On in th G5s System Preferences > Sharing pane ?
    In the Base Station is Port Mapping Protocol Enabled if it is doing routing ?
    It is in the NAT tab of the Internet Pane.
    Is the G5 also doing WiFi to the Base Station ?
    Also check the Modem is not Blocking PINGS as this log shows no PING (But I am not sure it even got that far)

  • Best Camera for Video Chat?

    First off I apologize if this question has come up before.
    I'm thinking about purchasing the iSight for my Power Mac G4 (OS 10.3.9). I mainly need it for video chatting with relatives out of state (who are Windows users). They use Skype because its free, so before I spend the money I want to know if there are any compatibility problems from going with this particular webcam?
    I'd appreciate as much detail/info as you can provide. Let me know if you know of any problems of video chatting between Mac & Windows Skype users in general.
    Thanks in advance!
    P.S. if you strongly feel that I should consider another brand of webcam I'd appreciate it if you reply with a link (or at least the brand name and model number).
    Power Mac G4, 1 GHz Dual-Processor   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Hi Macu,
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions
    Apple have had to remove the External iSights from sale in Europe due to regulations about the content of the components used. The European Commission have had one of their moments and deemed how much of soemthing that is considered toxic should be in a device.
    It also effect Airport Base Stations.
    I would try Resellers.
    In Britain the new ruling allowed for older stocks to be sold off.

  • When using rabbitmq-jms for vFabric RabbitMQ javax.jms.Message.getJMSDestination does not return the actual destination when it is received from a consumer listening on a Topic with a wild card

    When using rabbitmq-jms for vFabric RabbitMQ javax.jms.Message.getJMSDestination does not return the actual destination when it is received from a consumer listening on a Topic with a wild card. I have tested with both 1.0.3 and 1.0.5 clients with RabbitMQ 3.1.5.
    I was wondering if the community was aware of this problem and if there are any workarounds? If not what is the proper channel to file a bug report. An example code snippet is below. The test fails because the TextMessageMatcher expects the destination passed in on construction (second parameter) to equal the desination on the message received (aquired from getJMSDestination).
            Mockery context = new Mockery();
            final MessageListener messageListener = context.mock(MessageListener.class);
            final Latch latch = new LatchImpl();
            final String prefix = "test" + System.currentTimeMillis();
            context.checking(new Expectations() {
                    oneOf(messageListener).onMessage(with(new TextMessageMatcher("MSG1", prefix + ".1234")));
                    will(new CustomAction("release latch") {
                        @Override
                        public Object invoke(Invocation invocation) throws Throwable {
                            latch.unlatch();
                            return null;
            final Connection connection = createConnection(null, null);
            Session session = connection.createSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
            connection.start();
            Topic wildcardTopic = (Topic) getInitialContext().lookup(prefix + "." + "#");
            Topic destination = (Topic) getInitialContext().lookup(prefix + ".1234");
            final MessageConsumer consumer = session.createConsumer(wildcardTopic);
            consumer.setMessageListener(messageListener);
            MessageProducer producer = session.createProducer(null);
            producer.send(destination, session.createTextMessage("MSG1"));
            latch.await(5000);
            connection.close();
            Thread.sleep(5);
            context.assertIsSatisfied();

  • Using Bonjour for video chat to windows computer

    I'm wondering if it is possible to use Bonjour to do video chats accross the network from a mac to windows xp pc. Thanks in advance for any help or answers.

    Sure can. You would need to have Bonjour installed on the Windows PC, along with a chat client.
    Here's Bonjour for Windows: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/bonjourforwindows103.html
    Don't forget to adjust the windows firewall settings: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301514
    And here is a 3rd party chat client for windows: http://xurble.org/projects/iChatMiranda or you can use Trillian http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/
    I hope this helps!
    OOOPs. I just saw that you were asking for video chats, unfortunatly, there is no client that I'm aware of that supports Bonjour Video on the PC...sorry!

  • Suitable camera for Video chat?

    I want a cheap usb camera to use with my PB17"g4 / 10.3.9. Any recommendations? I will be mostly using skype.
    I laso have a MiniDV cam (Canon Elura 100). Is it true I can use that for video chat?
    Chris.

    If you can plug your camera in by Firewire, you can use it with iChat. Using 10.3, your options are limited. Under 10.4.8 and later, there is a wide range of external USB cameras supported, including the Microsoft XBox camera.

  • Load balancing and HA for persistence chat pool

    Hi,
           I have 12000 users for lync 2013 . plan to have 2 persistence chat servers in a pool , have below queries regarding the same.
    1. which type of load balancing will work for persistence chat pool.... DNS or HLB?  if its HLB then is it mandatory to use HLB , agenda is to minimize the cost.
    2. there is already 2 HLB for FE pool , one for external service and 1 for internal service.... can i use the same HLB for persistence chat pool?
    3. does persistence chat pool have HA bydefault like FE and Edge pool?

    1) DNS LB is fine: You can see them doing it here:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj205391.aspx
    2) I suppose you could, but I'd suggest sticking with DNS as it's easy, supported, and it works.
    3) Yes.  I believe so.

  • Supported HA Architecture for Persistent Chat

    I have a project that has a requirement for Persistent Chat as part of the infrastructure. The design is two well connected data centers in the same region so there will be two EE Lync pools paired for DR. They are using SQL clustering instead of mirroring.
    My thought was to create an instance in each data center for all Lync databases other than Persistent Chat.  Those instances would be clustered.  Can I then create a second instance in each data center that is not clustered for Persistent Chat
    and use log shipping between the two, basically making one side the active and the other the passive?  Is there any reason that would not be supported?  It is my understanding this is still the only choice for disaster recovery for Persistent Chat.
    As for the Persistent Chat servers themselves there would be two and both would be active since connectivity between data centers is very good.
    Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.

    When doing persistent chat DR between two data-centers, using log shipping is the recommended and support solution.  You can find a drawing here on TechNet:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj205211.aspx
    So in DataCenter A, you could have SQL Mirroring, log ship to the primary server in DataCenter B and than configure SQL Mirroring there as well.
    Hope that helps.
    Thanks,
    Richard

  • Issues with TopLink Cache Coordination using JMS for manual DB updates

    Hi,
    We are having 2 web application using same Database and Toplink library but 2 session objects for both the applications. We are using JMS for cache coordination. JMS propagating messages successfully between the applications and able to see the same object changes in both the applications properly. Now, we are trying to refresh cache for manual updates in Database. We are trying to refresh single object which is modified in database in one application, refreshing in one application from which refresh happened but not in other application (JMS publishing the topic but updating one).
    Our intention is refreshing in one application so that JMS should coordinate and update in others when DB manual updates. Please let us know any comments for the same.
    Database using: Oracle 11g
    Toplink Version:- 9.0.3

    Has anybody an idea, how I can fix this
    Chris

    Hello there,
    Many thanks for the reply,
    Well just clarify i may be wrong, i said i need 100 queues is because
    we have hunderds of brokers office where we can place orders
    our requirement is as below.
    a) One client can place multiple orders with MULTIPLE brokers simultaneously. i.e choose different brokers and do a long and short
    at the same time
    b) Now based on the brokers chosen by the client orders must be
    routed to multiple broker's office
    c) same way trade updates / trade confirmation's need to be sent
    to the client , please note that MULTIPLE brokers will be sending
    the orders to the SINGLE client
    d) Now i need a reliable channel to do this, both of the actions (point
    b and c ) is async . Unless i create a seperate queue for each of
    the brokers how is it possible to reliably (i mean specific broker / client) to communicate with each other
    e) It is a complex scenario , please do let me know if you can get the point , if not please do mention i will try to simplify my questions
    Would greatly appreciate if someone can help to scrutinize on the architecture , more importantly if JMS is appropriate here.
    Many thanks,

  • Anyone done a comparison between compressor & Squeeze 5 for h.264 output?

    Anyone done a comparison between compressor & Squeeze 5 for h.264 output?

    I'm not that concerned about speed, primarily interested in quality.
    Intended delivery would be over the web, but also on an HDTV flat screen in a waiting room at best resolution (would H.264 be the best choice for that use?).
    Source would be 1920 x 1080 24p ProRes 422 (recorded directly from HDMI using a humble Canon HV20 and an Intensity card).
    As to the size, that's becoming less of an issue with bandwidth such as it is. 20-30% larger wouldn't make a difference to me.

  • IChat Proxy for Gmail Chat?

    Is there any way for Gmail Chat to go through the systemwide proxy settings in iChat? AIM supports it, but there is no option in Gchat/Jabber.

    Use UPnP or Port Triggering.
