Comparison Shopping

Hi, I have been asked to research a comparison shopping
website project.
The site would be simillar to pricegrabber, bizrate, AOL
shopping.
What I would like to know is this sort of site done with
API's? How are the comparisons done? And can a site like this be
done in Dreamweaver?
Thanks for any advice

> The site would be simillar to pricegrabber, bizrate, AOL
shopping.
Then tell the client to give you a budget simliar to
pricegrabber, bizrate,
AOL shopping and you'll get started on hiring a development
team. ;o)
> What I would like to know is this sort of site done with
API's?
Well, you'd have to read the documentation of the API's from
each web site
that has one available for you to use. In addition, there'd
likely be a
significant amount of screen scraping that will have to be
done.
> How are the
> comparisons done?
There's a whole lot of 'it depends' involved with that
question.
> And can a site like this be done in Dreamweaver?
DW is text editor. You can build pretty much anything
provided you know the
particular programming language you want to use to handle it
all.

  • Shopping for a laptop

Hello. I know I may be in the wrong forum for this, but I am in the market for a new notebook computer. I am not in a big push for one right now, so I have been comparison shopping for awhile. My question is this: What are the advantages of having an Apple notebook vs. a Windows based notebook. I know just from shopping around there isn't as much commercially available software for the Apple platforms, & this could be a drawback for me. Also, it seems as if the prices on the Apple notebooks are higher than the Windows based, & this is also a drawback. Are my peceptions wrong, because I am very interested in knowing the differences. I guess what I would like to know from the community is what sets the Apple notedbooks apart from the Windows based? If I choose to go with an Apple notebook, will I be satisfied with the transition from Windows to Apple based?

The cost difference between Macs and PCs is very misleading because it frequently ignores the differences in what you get for your money. Read the following:

As for software there are thousands of titles for the Mac. The major productivity software like Microsoft Office and Adobe products are available in Mac versions as well as Windows versions. Yes, there are Window's titles not available for the Mac. Many games come in both flavors, but many do not. If you have software needs then you must determine whether the software is available for the platform and only buy the platform that runs the software that you need. If would be foolish to purchase a Mac if you couldn't run the software you need to use.
Personally, I've used many different types of computers over the years. I started with an Osborne computer in 1981. I've used IBM PCs, Windows computers, Amiga computers, Macs, and mainframes. In my opinion Macs are well-made, well-designed, and work. The operating system and software are easy to use and easy to learn. I've worked with colleagues who used Windows machines and Macs, and those who used Macs were more productive faster than those who used PCs.
Will you be satisfied with the transition? Hard to say. I know nothing about you. Some people make the transition easily, others simply cannot. Most are in between. Apple tries to help:
    Switch 101
I am not a Mac fanatic. I believe strongly in the idea that one should use the best tool for the job. For my jobs I find the Mac to be the best tool. Fortunately, the rest of the world is beginning to learn why Macs are great computers. The gap between what works with Windows and what works with Macs is becoming narrower and narrower. Macs also enjoy an extremely active freeware and shareware market - VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
Computer purchasing decisions should always start with the software. Identify the software that best suits your needs, then buy the computer that runs that software. Buying a computer without knowing if you will find the software you need is just plain dumb.

but back to the burn problem. i had a look at the downloads page for your Dimension:

in particular check to see if you've got the latest version of the firmware for your NEC DVD+RW ND-1100A (they have a firmware download for that), that you've got the latest version of the Dell Dimension System BIOS, and that you've got the proper driver for your Radeon 9700 TX w/TV-Out. • Can't install Itunes 64 on Vista 64 bit OS

Bought an Ipod Touch. Downloaded iTunes64. On install I get an iTunes + QuickTime error "Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode (not), or if the Windows Installer is not installed correctly. Contact your support personnel for assistance"
HP Support(3 hrs), Microsoft Support(none), and Apple Support(2 hrs) unable to diagnose and offer fix. Any one had this error and successfully installed iTunes 64 on 64 bit Vista?
    AKWilder

Excellent news, AK! Glad the HP chap was able to fix things for you.
Our flight to New Zealand will be from San Francisco to Sydney, then to Auckland
Ahhhh ... the long one ... Actually the issue I was wondering about would hit on LA-to-Auckland as well, but looking at the features on the Touches, a full charge apparently only gives you a maximum of 6 hours video playback:
    http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/features/
... so it might be worth getting a battery-pack of some description as well?
I haven't used it myself so can't vouch for it from personal experience (actually, I've never used a battery pack with an iPod), but there's a Kensington model I can see in the online Apple Store that claims it will give you up to 21 hours of video playback:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/TR823LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA4NA&mco=MTA4NDYwODk
Thinking that with both that and the ipod fully charged, that might get you all the way from Florida to Auckland. (Best to do some "comparison shopping" of your own, though, before getting something like that ... I'm no expert on what would constitute the best deal for you.)

Sorry for the long copy and paste. I read that I can upgrade the video card and power supply. But atm when I play world of warcraft at ultra settings, I tend to lag really bad in the new instances with the new cat expansion that came out. I wanted to know if I should upgrade the video card and power supply for better performance or just upgrade my whole pc tower.  Fyi, I am running a Acer X243w lcd flat panel monitor if that helps too.

My brother has a high end laptop with a built in, high end gaming video card (I forget which one). He's able to run the game on full-on Ultra.
I have an integrated video card which games the game on.. 'cartoon'.. mode. It's lower then low. When someone shoots a powerful spell at me, I go into a DOS Prompt. (not really, but it's pretty bad).
Funny thing is, I can still kick my brother's butt in any PVP match he wants to set up.
But I guess his graphics are pretty....
As for which video card works best, I'd have to do some research. After that graphics update they did with CAT,  it's kind of a toss up again.

  • Help with my decision to purchase a Mac

I am in business and must use PC based software for certain applications. The machinery I use is only PC based, and there are no plans to create a Mac version. I am fine with that. However, since I have started using a Mac at my church, for recording and editing, I am ready to make the switch, if only partially.
One big selling point is the apparent ease in creating presentations, brochures, websites, blogs, and podcasts. So, to help in my decision, I need to know if creating a website, and maintaining it, is as easy as the Apple website makes it out to be. My church has a website, and it seems very difficult to make changes, and writing all of the HTML code, which is all done by someone else, who does not like Macs.
I love how the Mac works, and I am not intimidated at all at the technology, because I haved learned AutoCAD with relative ease, Router CIM-Tech which runs a CNC router, Cabinet software, Final Cut, GarageBand, Live Lite 4, as well as all of the Microsoft Office stuff, which is a pain to use at times. And 2 years ago, I was almost computer illiterate.
I will always have to use a PC, but I would love to use a Mac for the majority of my work, as well as for fun. I just need to see that the pros overwhelm the cons.
    Power Book G4   Other OS
    Power Book G4   Other OS

I am on the diving board and ready to take the
plunge. I do understand that some people may not be
able to view the site. Could I have a free download
of what it takes to view it on the site? Or will I
only be able to post it on .Mac? If I give
prospective customers the web address, will they be
able to access it, if they do not have a Mac? I am
using my Windows IE version 6.0 right now and I can
go pretty much anywhere. But is that because I have
    installed iTunes and Quick Time?
Compatibility is always an issue and exists even for Windows developers aiming at a Windows only market. Many tend to think of Windows as being monolithic but it isn't. There are a significant number of people using Windows 98 and the original Explorer browser. Indeed, there are still people using Windows 3, old versions of Netscape, even Mosaic! All developers make a fundamental decision: try to support all browsers or don't try. My experience has been that my iWeb websites are viewable by WindowsXP users who have the newest version of Explorer or FireFox. Older versions of Explorer and Mozilla have issues.
I just want to be able to say go to "xyz.com" to view
my product offering, and be done with it. But what
are the costs in maintaining this "xyz.com" site? If
it is just a subscription to .Mac that would be cool.
If I have to pay a third party to allow me to have
it, then I would like to know who that is and what is
    involved.
I did a quick search for the .Mac terms of service. I'm not certain if .Mac allows you to create commercial sites. There are lots of alternatives. I don't want to give any endorsements but I will say that my wife found a hosting site for her business that charges $12 a month that provides double the bandwidth of .Mac and an unlimited number of email accounts with POP and SMTP services. She got her domain name through that service for nothing, it was part of the deal. We simply did a search on Google for 'web hosting' did some comparison shopping, and rejected any service that didn't provide references.

  • Should I buy a Zen Mic

I really want to get a Zen Micro, but I'm worried about the headphone jack problem. Does anyone know if Creative has fixed the problem in the newer Zen Micros? and if so, how do I know which ones are the new Micros?

    bberenbaum wrote:
Every player has problems, some more than others. The iPod has more problems than the micro, but the Rio has less (at least thats what I was told).
One thing to remember is that all of these MP3 players are essentially a new technology. They haven't been around all that long. So I think all models have their own set of issues at this point due to the fact that these devices are fairly new. Its gonna be a few years before everyone starts getting everything closer to perfect.
But I did some comparison shopping and tried out a few idfferent units and found the Zen Micro to be the best choice for me. I travel about 3 weeks out of every month and the size and functionality seem to work great for someone like me who is running their player on an average of 4-6 hours per day on a near daily basis and who wants something small enough to stick in my jacket pocket, but has a hard dri've to overcome the space limitations of a flash player, which typically top out at gig from what I could find.

  • Unauthorized credit inquiry

Long story short I never authorized a company to place a hard inquiry on my file. Equifax is being utter retards in this matter. what do i need to do to get this inquiry off my file. It was done less than a week ago. i have since at my own expense frozen all 3 so that it doesnt happen again but i should not have to do this. I did not sign anything i did not give permission they put it on and now equifax is telling me theres nothing i can do about it other than contact them. i have disputed already and its come back lost. i have that letter pdf'ed and the company name on the letter i have written a letter and posted as of last week without return stamp i fear next i may be sending that letter again with 6$ return green card then having to file small claims.  i called into this company and a guy who claims to be their cpa says he is willing to work with me and that he is sorry this has happened. he works for a place in Austin Tx , the company in the dispute return shows as a company in florida that went bacnkrupt in 2010 and laid off 175 people i googled the name and address. so i dont know how a company that doesnt exsist any more can stamp peoples credit without authorization but its been done. im not giving up on this im going to be anal as hell so dont try to tell me to just wait it out i have no desire to wait it out when i didnt cause it  please tell me what more can i do? do I need to file suit for small claims would that be easiest ? i intend  to also hit them on bbb and follow up with this CPA who claims he will do whatever to assist and help me remove it. my file is relatively clean and im trying to remove and wait out the ones i did . I plan and try to execute a schedule and this (Mod Cut) my schedule all up

If asserting lack of permissible purpose for a business transaction, you may wish ot review the following FTC staff opinion letter dated February 11, 1998 wherein they expressed their view of when a business obtaiins permissible purpose: "1. Section 604(a)(3)(F) permits CRAs to provide consumer reports to any party who has a "legitimate business need for the information in connection with a business transaction that is initiated by the consumer." You ask whether this provision allows a dealer to obtain a consumer report on a person who "comes to an automobile dealership and requests information" from a salesman about one or more automobiles. In our view it does not, because a request for general information about products and prices offered does not involve a business transaction initiated by the consumer. "More generally, you ask "when is the beginning of a business transaction" initiated by the consumer? In responding to this question, it is important to note that Section 604(a)(3)(F) limits this "business need" permissible purpose to transactions (i) that are "initiated" by the consumer and (ii) where the seller has a "legitimate business need" for the information. The staff's view is that an automobile dealer may obtain a report only in those circumstances in which the consumer clearly understands that he or she is initiating the purchase or lease of a vehicle and the seller has a legitimate business need for the consumer report information in order to complete the transaction. "For example, a consumer who asks a dealer questions about prices and financing is not necessarily indicating an intent to purchase or lease a vehicle from that particular dealer. Nor does the dealer have a "legitimate" business need for a consumer report in this situation. The consumer may simply be comparison shopping. In such a situation, the dealer must obtain written permission from the consumer before obtaining a consumer report. If the dealer would like to see a consumer's credit report before answering general questions about the availability of financing, this must be explained to the consumer and written permission must be obtained. In the same way, a request to "test drive" a vehicle does not indicate an intent to initiate the purchase or lease of the vehicle. Accordingly, if a consumer asks to test drive a vehicle, the dealer must obtain written permission from the consumer before obtaining a report. "Only in those circumstances where it is clear both to the consumer and to the dealer that the consumer is actually initiating the purchase or lease of a specific vehicle and, in addition, the dealer has a legitimate business need for consumer report information may the dealer obtain a report without written permission. In this regard, we note that obtaining information for negotiation purposes does not constitute a "legitimate" business need. The dealer must have a specific need for the information directly related to the completion of the transaction. For example, a dealer may obtain a report, if one is necessary, in order to arrange financing requested by the consumer.(1) The dealer may also obtain a report to check a consumer's creditworthiness when the consumer presents a personal check to pay for the vehicle. By contrast, a permissible purpose would not arise if a consumer intends to pay by cash.FCRA 819 specifies that a party who knowingly and willfully obtains information from a consumer reporting agency under false pretenses shall be fined under Title 18, United States Code, imprisoned for not more than 2 years, or both."

  • Best storage capacity for a student

    Greetings everyone,
I have the desire of buying the latest iPad in a near future and I was wondering, what storage capacity will I be needing?
-I intend to record many classes at university
-I intend to take pictures of the boards at university
-I intend to use it to store documents, books, dictionaries.
-I might get a good lot of apps and a few games(but not much)
-I do not listen to a lot of music(100 tracks max, really)
-I would like to have a few movies at hands(I also am subscribed to Netflix)
Wich would be the best for me? 16, 32, 64 or 128G?
Meanwhile, I'd appreciate if someone could give me a hint of how much space recording parts of my classes might take.
    +
If someone was kind enough to explain to me ''***'' is 3G and Cellular?I have no idea what it could be.
    Much appreciated,
    Agesilas

I'm happy that Demo solved your question. I had read it and waited until my younger son got home to ask him a few questions. I figure the more opinions you have, the better. And Demo has the right idea that you should buy your ipad with the most storage you can afford. That tends to be the general concensus in responses to this question.
Our son got his ipad 2 64 gb before as he started his junior year in college this past year. At first, he quickly loaded it with music, a few movies, tv shows, apps, etc. It came to over 22 gbs. After his junior year he has used over 50 gb. He said the books do not take up much space, but the tv shows do and if he needs to, he can delete them. So it can add up fast. You want to record (video and audio?) it adds up. It will add up more quickly than simply taking photos. You might have to buy newspapers (or be given for free through your university) and they add up if not deleted periodically. Engineering projects take up space. Others might say you don't need to go too big because you can store things in the cloud. (We haven't done that here, so no opinion to offer.)
Like Demo, our son has no idea about recording, but as Demo said,it will add up. Movies eat up the battery more quickly, so that might be an indication that your recordings will take up more space.
So we suggest you consider the 64gb, and if you can easily afford it, and want to, consider the128 gb. (Personally, for me, the more it costs, the more I'd worry about it.)
And FYI, at least in the USA, most colleges have wifi throughout campus, so you might not need it too often on campus. But if you can afford it, the cellular will ensure constant connectivity to the internet anywhere! And because you aren't too familiar with cellular, depending on where you live and go to school, you will pick a carrier (often the carrier for your cell phone.) And when you are out of wifi range, your phone carrier will charge you, so you might want to do some comparison shopping.
It's great that you have Netflix.
Oh. Please be sure to buy a good strong case for your ipad.
Reseach independent reviews (esp. re storgage given the price,) and don't hurry to make a decision until you're sure.
Whatever you decide, enjoy your ipad and your years at university!

  • Cataloguing Solaris groups

I created an OPML file of major Solaris discussion groups
that provide RSS feeds. (An OPML file is a standard file
format for sharing lists of RSS feeds such as BLOGs. More
on this later.) It can be downloaded here:
        http://www.speakeasy.org/~boutilier/import.xml
This is part of my attempt to start maintaining a list of
"active" English-language Solaris groups and their attributes. I've
defined "active" to mean groups that have, on average, at least a few
messages posted per day (i.e. minimum 20 msgs per week). Following
are the ones I know of. Please let me know if I've missed any.
Name                  Traffic    Native Format      RSS Feed?
comp.unix.solaris     Very high  Usenet Newsgroup    Yes
    solarisx86@yahoo      High       Mail-list           Yes

    supportforum.sun.com  Med        Browser-only        Yes
    forum.sun.com         Med        Browser-only         Soon
    ITtoolbox solaris-l   Low        Mail-list            No
    Key:
      Very high ~=  500 - 700 msgs per week
      High      ~=  300 - 500    "
      Medium    ~=  100 - 300    "
      Low       ~=   20 - 100    "
[ Posting note: The above tables don't format properly when this message
is posted on forum.sun.com -- even though I used the `code' formatting tag ]
Although there are 6 groups in the list above, two of them don't
provide RSS feeds yet, therefore they aren't included in the
OPML file. Also, one of the RSS feeds in the file is not actually
a discussion group, it's a site that does on-the-fly aggregation of
blog entries on planetsun.org that contain the word Solaris. (The URL
for browsing the site is http://test.planetsun.com/solaris.)
    === Run-on message alert ===
The rest of this message contains some findings,
recommendations, and how-to info on the subject of RSS/OPML.
    === End Run-on message alert ===
Personally, I have an account on bloglines.com for reading RSS
feeds.  There are two really good things about Bloglines: It's
free, and it's easy for RSS newbies (like me) to get up and running
quickly. But Bloglines is web-based, and that makes it kinda slow
    and klunky. So I actually recommend using a regular RSS reader app;
and since there are a lot of those out there, I went ahead and did
some "comparison shopping" on places like freshmeat.net. These are
the ones (for UNIX/Linux desktops) that piqued my interest the
    most:
    - Snownews:
      http://kiza.kcore.de/software/snownews
    - RSSOwl
      http://rssowl.sourceforge.net
    - Sage
      http://sage.mozdev.org/
    - Thunderbird and Mozilla also added RSS capabilities recently, but
I think they lack a lot of features (like importing OPML files) that
are standard with dedicated RSS readers and the bloglines service.
To import the OPML file into a bloglines account, click on:

  • Will a 7200rpm drive drain my battery a lot?

    Hi,
    I'm changing my MBP 15" Mid 2010 models hard drive to either a 750gb 7200rpm or a 1TB 5200rpm drive.
What i wanted to know is will i notice a significant battery drain with the 7200 drive? I heard because the drive reads faster it can drain the battery a bit quicker.
If so, are we talking an hour or 15mins etc?
I use my mbp for music making on the move and for DJ'ing.
Thanks for any help and advice.

What are you doing that you think is slow?
A faster drive will make apps load a little faster. But going to a 7200rpm drive will also lower your battery life and create more heat.
I've noticed marginal improvements. Helps a little with some of the benchmarking tools.
The noise, heat, and power are very much dependent on the vintage/technology of the drive. Some recent 7200 RPM drives are comparable (even better sometimes) to older 5400 RPM drives when it comes to power, noise, and heat. I've yet to encounter any problems. My Hitachi Travelstar 7K200 has been a stellar performer. It might mean about 5-10 minutes less battery life than the OEM drive, but I run it off the adapter most of the time anyways.
Given the model of the original poster (late 2006 Core 2 Duo) I'd venture that a recent 7200 RPM drive could be comparable to the factory drive in terms of power consumption, noise level, and heat output. Check out specs and comparison shop.

  • Printers for Max OS X v10.2.8

My Epson Stylus Color 740 has suddenly stopped printing. I thought I would replace it but I can't seem to find a printer that is supposed to be compatible with 10.2.8. Does anybody know which ones are, if any?

Howdy dallasite! And Welcome To Discussions!
Before investing in a new printer that is compatible with Jaguar 10.2.x, have you considered upgrading the iMac to a newer version of OS X?
If you were to do that, the range of printer models available, would greatly increase, enabling you to comparison shop more efficiently.
Tiger is available for purchase at The Apple Store (U.S.).
Panther, is no longer available directly from the Apple Online Store, as Tiger 10.4.x is the most up to date OS.
If you know what to look for, a Full Retail Version, of the Panther Install CDs, or a Full Retail Version, of the Tiger Install DVD, can also be purchased rather inexpensively, at some online Apple retailers, Amazon, eBay, AppleRescue, FastMac, etc.
Be sure not to purchase grey, upgrade or machine specific CDs or DVDs.
Panther is only on CDs, not DVDs.
The discs should look like the images in the above links.

Once Panther 10.3.x is installed, you can use the 10.3.9 Combo Update, to upgrade to the final version.
If your Mac meets the System Requirements for Tiger, you could also consider installing that.
And then use the PPC 10.4.8 Combo Update, to upgrade to the current version.

  • Camera, sound, and general design issues

I bought an iPod Touch 3G about a year ago. Recently, I sold my 3g and bought a 4g. I am a professional web and interface designer and have been in the industry about 5 years.
With the iPod upgrade, I got camera functionality. Also, the recent iOS update added a new set of sound options. It appears that you can have the sound muted, but still get notification sounds from mail, facetime, and perhaps other applications as well; a good feature. The multitasking bar also now has a volume slider as well.
My Proposal (see below for details)
    - Link the camera shutter sound to the regular iPod volume. Or have a setting to turn shutter on and off. Or add a “Ringer and Alert” option to disable shutter sound.
    - Add a “mute all sounds” button in the multitask bar.
    - Remove the sound slider in the multitask bar and replace it with a brightness bar.
    The Camera
The camera seems to work great. Unfortunately, it isn’t the highest quality, which I heard was not due to cost, but because of size. Really Apple? Because 0.28 inches is just borderline “too thick?” But that is a whole other issue. The issue I am having is that the camera makes a really nasty (and often loud) shutter noise whenever I take photo, even when the sound is muted. Apple did add the “Ringer and Alerts” sound volume, which apparently also is linked to the camera shutter noise. So either I get audio mail alerts with shutter noise or I get no audio mail alerts with no shutter noise. The “Ringer and Alerts” section allows me to disable certain sounds (incoming mail, outgoing mail), but not the shutter sound. Shutter noises are annoying and there are plenty of circumstances where you do not want a shutter noise. And no, I am not talking about perverted circumstances. Say you are in a boring conference reading a magazine and want to send a photo of a page to a friend? Perhaps you are in a retail store doing some comparison-shopping online and are taking photos of bar codes? Maybe I have witnessed a crime and want to capture a photo of the fleeing perp. There is no reason that people within a 3-block radius need to know that you are taking a photo with my iPod Touch (…and yes, the last example was a bit over the top). Since mail alerts are very useful, I tend to leave them on even when the volume is muted. I typically leave my sound muted because often I may be using a sound application (games, youtube, etc) in a waiting room or other situation where there are people around. I like to be courteous to other people, so I leave my phone on vibrate and go to an unoccupied room (when possible) when receiving a phone call. So leaving my sound on is not a good option for me. However, in order to take a silent photo, I have to go into settings, go to sounds, and slide the “Change with Buttons” option to off. Then when I am done taking the photo, I have to slide it back. Very inconvenient and I have to remember to do it if I am taking a silent photo. Why not add a “Camera shutter” option to the list of sounds in the “Ringer and Alerts” section? Or maybe just bundle the camera shutter sound with the regular volume control of the iPod Touch. Or just add a setting to turn shutter sound on or off.
    The Sound
Why is there no easy way to “mute all sounds,” especially with the new sound options of the iOS? This option should be added to the multitask bar. If you are going into a meeting and do not want audio alerts. When the meeting is over, simply go back to the multitask bar and unmute all sounds; simple to use, easy to add. Why did Apple add a volume control to the multitask bar? You can adjust the volume from any application by using the external buttons! Also, perhaps I just don’t understand the new functionality of the volume buttons, but how come you cannot adjust volume from within some applications (camera and others)? The buttons just don’t seem to do anything in those applications. Why in the world would you do that? Those sound buttons have a specific purpose that users are accustom to. No matter what application you are in, you can easily adjust the sound. If you have some feedback on the new functionality of the buttons, please let me know.
    The Brightness
Sound and brightness are the two items I change the most. Sometimes I am using my iPod Touch in a dimly lit room, so I like to turn down the brightness. The auto brightness works, but not well in dimly lit rooms. Watching YouTube videos can sometimes be a bit cumbersome with the brightness. If the video is to bright or dark, you can to exit the YouTube app, go to settings, adjust the brightness, go back to YouTube and resume the video. The same goes for the Video application. Some games are brighter or darker than others, so adjusting the brightness after starting a game is a common circumstance. Why not replace the audio controls in the multitask bar with a brightness option. Audio is accessible (or at least should be) from any application thanks to the hardware buttons.

  • INotate - my thanks

Hi - my first app (iNotate) got in the store after one re-submission.
First of all thanks to all who helped me with the questions I posted here - esp KT and Ray!!
The app was submitted on 10/7 first time, and was kicked out on 10/28. Re-submitted on 10/29 and got approved on 11/11.
It's a very useful app that lets the users take pictures (on iPhones) and annotate pictures from Album/CameraRoll.
Use it for comparison shopping, quick shoot-notate-email jobs or simply annotate the pictures! Features include editing the text, picture-mgmt (delete with confirmation), email, save....
iNotate - when your pictures simply need words!

Good work - feels great, eh?
And it only gets more fun from here
You'll be amazed at what happens over the next 6 months or so.
Please plan on this only being the beginning. Look to update once a month as an example, and use the 'update' dialog to communicate with your customers...don't ignore that as an opportunity to talk directly to them, etc.

  • Non-airport recommendations?

    Hi all,
Our six (or seven?) year old Airport Express seems to be on its last leg, slow speeds, weak signal, dropping connection randomly, etc. Was thinking of upgrading, but also interested in comparison shopping with a non-Apple product. If I can get something cheaper that works just as well as an Airport wireless router, that'd be great.
Any recommendations? Any routers that are great? Any that are absolutely terrible?
    thanks

    a [refurbished|http://store.apple.com/us/product/FC340LL/A?mco=MTc4MzI5NzM] airport extreme
basically, in order to avoid incompatibilities with other Apple gadgetry, i'd go for an Apple router any time. those refurbs (i have quite a number) are just as good as new, come with the same warranty, and are great value @ discounted prices.
