Comparisons fascinate or incredible

I'm on my 2nd fascinate due to poor reception quality as well as freezing up when placing a phone call. Although I love this phone for alot of other reasons, I'm seriously considering replacing it with the Incredible. Can anyone give some feedback on what the differences are between these two phones? I'm just nervous to switch because I only have 1 more time to switch phones. It seems there's more complaints about the fascinate then the incredible.
Any advice would be great.

If you are in a poor 3g area, I would recommend the Incredible. HTC have a built in switch to turn off the mobile network. The Samsung phone don't have the option with Android 2.1. I have seen Motorola only add it with Android 2.2 on their phones. I would expect Samsung to include the switch with Android 2.2 and higher, but we will see. HTC has had this switch since Android 1.5 on their phone. This prevents data traffic over the cellular network but still allows voice calls.
I know this isn't a big comparison, but after having an older HTC phone, it is feature I look for in all new phones.
I have played with both the Fascinate and the Incredible. The Dinc felt solid and the Fascinate felt too light and i*hone looking in both form and how the UI worked.

  • Decision - Fascinate vs Incredible

    Hello All,
I need some help making a decision.....
I currently have an Eris and while I loved it when I first got it in Nov 09 I can no longer say that I do...
It's been repIaced once and I won't bore you with all the issues I have with this phone...
I am due for an upgrade and cannot decide between the Fascinate or the Incredible.
A friend has the Epic with Sprint (their version of Fascinate) and it was pretty sweet and considering the issues I am having with my Eris I am not feeling the warm and fuzzies from HTC.
Any and all feedback would be very much appreciated..
    Thanks!!

Hi, I currently got a new Droid and I understand your dilemma.  I knew I didn't want the Incredible for me the choice was between the X and the Fascinate.  I chose the X and I am very happy with that choice.  First and foremost the differences between the size of the 2 devices you contemplating is huge.  You should definitely go to a store and hold them.  The camera on the Fascinate is only a 5mp while the Incredible has an 8mp, but the screen on the Fascinate is huge.  I went with the X to get both an 8mp camera and the larger screen.  Also, if you do go to the store to check out the Fascinate you will want to play around with it a little.  While it is customizable it has a lock with Bing as the default search engine and you will need to download the Google navigator app as it does not come stock on the phone.
I chose the Droid 2 for my husband, which is also a Motorola phone, because he needs a physical keyboard.  We are both coming from BlackBerry and we both love our phones.  My niece has the Incredible and side by side hers is still awesome

  • Corporate Exchange Calendar does not sync

Whenever I go into Home>Calendars, and check my Corporate Exchange Calendar, it does not stay selected, so I am unable to sync my calendar items.

I had this same issue and I have fixed it. I have a Droid X working with Exchange Server 2010.
First off you if you have already created the Exchange partnership you may have noticed that you are able to receive email by manually syncing, but you are not able to send emails. (Outgoing emails will remain in the outbox)
If you have access to the Exchange Server you will see that the partnership for the Droid X will show as a "Motoblur30" device. Other phones such as Nexus One and Samsung Fascinate will show as "Android" devices. I have only encountered this email issue with Motoblur devices. All others work flawlessly.
    1. Delete the mobile phone partnership via the Exchange Server Console or via Outlook Web App if you're not a network admin.
    2. Remove your exchange account via your phone.
    3. Ensure Battery Manager is set to "Performance Mode", enable "Background Data", force stop "Backup Assistant" (this may not be necessary but I did it anyway)
    4. Force Stop Gmail. I have noticed that if I sync Gmail, my corporate email stops working. I believe this may be the issue but i can't confirm 100%.
    5) Re-set up your corporate email account. Data push should be selected. Do not select sync over wifi.
Email should now push to your device and send instantly. Calendar and Outlook Contacts will also sync,
Note: In my case I do not have any other email accounts set up on my Droid X on the native email manager. It may benefit you to use a 3rd party app such as Maildroid.
I went back and forth with Motorola regarding this whole email sync issue and they claim it was my Server Settings...but my personal Nexus One syncs with no issues...I also have a Samsung Fascinate, an Incredible, an Eris, and a Galaxy tab tapping into my server and they all sync instantly. Another user with a Droid X also had the same problem.

  • FRUSTRATED With Battery Life (or should I say lack of)  Incredible vs. Fascinate

I got the Droid Incredible in January  (my first smartphone) and for the most part - I love it.  I HATE, however, the lack of battery life on this phone.   I have searched the forums and done pretty much all the suggestions from disabling background data & auto sync, changing sync for mail, weather, news, facebook, etc. to either manual, once a day or every 6 hours, I have ATK (although I know there is some disagreement on if it is good or bad), I have my widgets on the screen and my gps, wifi, etc. is always off unless I am using it)   and charged the battery last night as suggested by keeping phone on and charging til light was green, then turning phone off (while plugged in) and charging until green and then turning phone on and the battery almost seems worse now.     I find it a bit ridiculous that you have to jump through all these hoops to try and extend your battery life if you are simply using the features of the phone.  Isn't that what a smartphone is for basically?
I got up this morning, sent two emails and played one game of spades and my battery went down to almost half!!!!    That just doesn't seem right to me.  I usually spend (not at all once) maybe 4 hours a day of phone use??    I charge my battery either twice or at least once a day --
I am curious if the battery life of a Fascinate is battery than that of the Droid???      Or, does anyone have any other suggestions for me?   TIA!

@EmsMom, I know it sounds ridiculous, but the "bump charging" technique did help me a lot. But one difference in how you described it vs. how I do it is, after switching off the phone, I let it get to green. Then unplug and replug. It again takes some time to get to green. I do this about two times and have seen improvement. Other than that, I did post about my specific settings a while back on here. Here's the link:
    http://community.vzw.com/t5/DROID-Incredible-by-HTC/After-2-2-this-phone-is-trash/m-p/286838#M12260
Keep in mind. If you use other market apps that need to sync regularly, you need to monitor their refresh settings as well. How much battery you end up using also depends on individual usage patterns. So, if nothing else works, I guess you are then left with an option of getting an extended battery.
At the end of it all, I do agree with you! There needs to be some serious research and upgrade to the battery technology to keep up with all these smartphones and how we use them.
    Hope this helps!

  • Motorola Droid X or HTC Droid Incredible or Samsung Fascinate or Wait?

    Hey Guys,
Im currently an At&t customer and I absolutely hate my service. I went with it for the At&t Unity Family Plans and Rollover, but have since found it sucks. I currently use a Blackjack II. Anyways, my contract just ended and Im looking at buying a new phone soon. I am only considering Verizon due to the reputed network reliability.
At this point I have several options in front of me, and I want you guys opinions on what you think is a good phone for me? I generally consume a few GB of data per month, send 2500 texts or so, and talk a little as well. My primary uses are gaming, multimedia, texting, and web browsing. Size isn't an issue, however I do a LOT of multitasking.
Please tell me which of the following is the best phone for me in your opinion?
    Motorola Droid X
    HTC Droid Incredible
    Samsung Fascinate
In addition, after doing so, do you think its worth it to buy now? Or should I wait a few more months and get the rumoured LTE phones or iPhone thats coming to Verizon in late 2010/early 2011.

I want to point out it is not my intention to ruffle any feathers. I used to considered myself a loyal Verizon customer, but maybe after nine years with any carrier you have seen too much of the true nature of the way they conduct business. In Verizon's case it is my opinion in the last three years particularly they have gone over the line in terms of unfair restrictions and misleading terms and pricing. This has been born out in succesful lawsuits ( http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2007/10/ny_verizon.html )
( http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/wireStory?id=10975100 ) there are more, but you get the idea.
Wicked One regarding Sprint and Verizon Upgrades, I am not sure about that but here is what I understand:
First Off ETF for Sprint is $200 for Verizon it's $350
"Verizon Wireless came under FCC scrutiny in early December after it doubled its ETF for netbooks, smartphones and some feature phones. No official action has been taken on the matter."

    RE: Phone Upgrades
As far as I know Verizon does not offer anything at one year, whereas Sprint does. The catch is what the new phone you are buying will cost you at one year into your two year contract. With Verizon my understanding is at 1 year into your 2 year contract, you pay a $20 upgrade fee and then you can get the new phone you want at a 1 year contract price. So if you were upgrading to a Droid Incredible today under these circumstances you would pay $20 + $269 ($369 - $100 rebate) or $280. With Sprint in the case of the EVO or any other plan where you pay more than $65 month you get the two year price after one year so you would be paying $200.
I wish I could say Verizon is the best, but I have found them to be more focused on pinching money out of our pockets, via weazle marketing gimicks, like "Unlimited" plans that are NOT unlimited, or convincing you that you get more when you actually get less or get a paragraph of restrictions in the small print. Verizon has the best coverage, but that does not balance out any more with me. Most of the time, except when I am traveling in rural areas, I think the other cariers will offer similiar service. I am very close to conducting a personal 30 day test.

  • The Fascinate is not as bad as people say/Actually a good phone

    Greetings.
First of all...if the Bing search and GPS are really important to you..then this phone is probably not for you.  If its not a deal breaker..go ahead and read on.
I realize these days all phones will have their glitches but IMO the Fascinate is a pretty good phone.  Im a new Android OS user.  For a long while I had a Blackberry Storm.  I recently owned a Droid X and let me tell you I will never go back.  The Droid X, IMO, is a horrible phone.
I used a Droid X for approximately 2 months and I was quick to use a buddy upgrade to use something else.  If you take a look at the Droid X's support board I had many of the problems reported.  The major problems I had were
    1. Bad picture quality
    2. Speaker/Music Volume
    3. Unexpected freezing
    4. Phone is too big
    1. Pictures taken with the Droid X came out blurry 90% of the time.  It doesnt matter what MP I had it on or what kind of effect/setting.  It would always come out blurry.  Some people had good quality on pictures but I was one of the many that didnt.
    2. I cant tell you how many missed calls/text's I had because of the horrid volume on the X.  It was truely ridiculous.
    3. From time to time using swype texting..the phone would freeze and have to reboot.
    4. I guess this problem is on me cause I had the phone in my hand at the store but you truely dont know what a inconvenience it is to have this phone in your pocket.  You almost cant sit comfortably and in my case the phone would often fall out of my pocket at times.
I have used the Fascinate for about 3 days now and I'd have to say I like it.  First off you cant fade the Amoled screen.  Pictures and colors are amazing.  Once you have a phone with this type of screen its hard to go back to something else.  I turned on my X to get a few numbers from there and its truely no comparison.  Pictures are in great quality and so is the video.  The flash is pretty good as well.  And how about this..I can actually hear when I have a phone call.
Funny isnt being able to hear a call and picture quality supposed to be given these days for smartphones? lol Not on the Droid X.
The problems that come up with this phone is the bing search/no google navigate.  Well bing doesnt doesnt bother me one bit.  I made a google search short cut so that takes care of that.  you can download google maps and still get to navigation by going through a few prompts.  no big deal on my part.  Only thing that is a little bother is that there is no side button to press to take a picture.  you have to hit the camera icon on the screen.
of course the final decision will depend on you but if you are in flux about a phone I'd recommend the fascinate.  I personally havent used this phone but I only hear good things about the incredible also.  My cousin has the Droid 2 which looks alright.  All 3 are a huge step up from the Droid X.

(I was trying to figure out why I wandered into this particular forum as I have no interest in this phone whatsoever, but maybe it will prove beneficial...)

It's WORLDS better.  No joke.  I have my Droid X collecting dust in my cabinet.  The speaker volume was my BIGGEST probem too and let me tell you you will not have that problem with this phone.  Once you use this phone you then realize how overrated the droid x really is
If you would like to sell your Droid X, I'll make an offer via Private Message.
The biggest reason is that I want to compare it side-by-side to the Droid X I own. Because the Droid X I own has absolutely no bearing to the phone you are describing. Plus I've had good luck returning ill Moto phones to Motorola for repair. So what the hell...
I'm dead serious. Send me a private message if interested. Really, why let an unused phone sit in your closet gathering dust when you could profit from it.....

  • LOTS of issues with Fascinate...worst phone ever

I got this phone as the BOGO when my sister bought her Incredible 33 days ago, I previously had a Motorola Droid...big mistake on this "upgrade". I've had problems with it from day one. On day one I was unable to make or receive phone calls until after I restarted the phone several times. I should have taken the phone back and exchanged it the next day but I just didn't have time. The unresponsive screen issue making it impossible to make calls continued. The sound quality was terrible, sounded like a blown speaker. I rarely had good WiFi or cell signal in areas where my Droid got excellent signal (still does, my husband has my beloved Droid now). Unable to load web browser pages. To resolve the unresponsive screen or lack of signal I would have to restart the phone...when the phone restarted it started beeping. "Beep, beep, beep" *pause* "Beep, beep, beep"...on, and on for several minutes (literally, it would beep for 5+ minutes everytime it started up).
Finally, about 25 days after purchase I called *611 to talk to tech support about the issues I was having. I was told that none of these issues were coming up as things that others had complaints with, it sounds like I just got a faulty phone and I could either have them send a replacemnt out to me or I could exchange it at the store where I bought it. I went back to the store I originally bought the phone from and exchanged it. Six days into Fascinate #2 (31 days after the original purchase) I'm having some of the same issues. No signal, unable to load browser pages without restarting the phone and the "Beep, beep, beep" cycle upon restart. The beeping continues for 5+ minutes, the only resolution seems to be turning the volume off.
Has anyone else had any of these issues? If so, what can be done to fix any of these problems? Is there any change Verizon would let me trade this in for a completely different phone? (NOT another Fascinate!!)

If you are using a Task Manager Application, try removing that application, or changing its setting on the device.  Review the applications that you are using and remove applications that may be conflicting with the phones operation.  Power the device off then remove and replace the battery. Then dial *228 send and option 1 on the device.
Replacement devices are usually issued for manufactures defects and are usually the same model depending on the circumstances.

  • Tired of working with Verizon on a phone that does not work. FASCINATE.

Since I got my fascinate a six months ago I have had nothing but problems.. At this point in time, I don't get phone calls and can't make phone calls, I don't get text messages either at all or not for hours later and the ones I send people are not getting for hours and hours later, and when I send a text it keeps coming back not sent. And it drops my calls when I can get it to work.  So Verizon's solution is to replace this phone now twice and send me an extender box free..(By the way my phone doesn't work anywhere it is not just an at home issue) ..So I am sitting right next to this powerful extender box which cost $250.00 if you were to buy it and I am not getting a phone call, text message and can't make a call or send a text message..Box working real good.
I don't know I am paying $175.00 a month for three phones and I can't use mine at all.
If VERIZON don't get it fixed this week...I'M DONE.. Being jerked around with "Oh lets do this reset or that one and lets send you another phone. I have not had service for 6 months but I have been paying my bill for the last 6 months..
So anyone else have these issues?  And if you did and got an new phone (droid incredible 2 or charge) which one worked better for you?  Thanks..

Like I said SHAME on Verizon for not stepping up and doing the right thing by the people.
Should we expect any different from Verizon, just look at they way the are treating their employees.
The reluctance to make it right for fascinate owners and their refusal to negotiate with their employees are both examples of pure corporate greed.
I have to chime in on corporate greed.  The wireless side of Verizon has laid off a few thousand people recently.  I wonder if the CEO or  board of directors took any pay cut?
I don't blame the lower folks for poor service, it all starts at the top and trickles down.
And yes VZW should offer to make things right with each Fascinate owner, but that will not happen.

  • I've given up on the HTC Incredible

I thought maybe FROYO would make things better, but it didn't.  The HTC Incredible was a super everything-else-but-a-phone smart phone.  I just couldn't hear some folk who I talked to on the phone; they were usually on another cellphone. Sometimes words got dropped, or the sound quality as too shrill.  All landline calls, and bluetooth earpiece managed calls, were excellent (although reception inside buildings was not terrific).  But since most folks I know used cellphones, I couldn't take it anymore and had to give up.  I used one of the other upgrade plans in my family plan to get a Samsung Fascinate.  Its only has 2.1 but, as a phone, it is great.  I have no regrets dumping the Incredible other than the money that I wasted.  I even had to have the original Incredible I purchased replaced because of memory issues.
My RIM Blackberry Curve was probably the best phone I've ever owned, except that the internet experience was just awful. But as a  phone, nothing was as good...even the Samsung.

I feel the same about my former Blackberry Bold and 8800. Blackberry knows/knew how to build a good solid handset.

  • Has anyone successfully managed to get VZW to raplace Fascinate with a different phone?

Has anyone successfully managed to get VZW to raplace Fascinate with a different phone?
If so, could you share with me on how you convinced VZW to do it?(which department?)
I love my Fascinate, but not when it can't get calls.  I would prefer to have a Fascinate with
zero problems, but that appears unlikely.   So I guess my best option is to get a different
    phone(Samsung, Motorola, or others)
    Thanks!

I successfully got a swap out of my Fascinate with a Droid Incredible 2.
I private messaged VZW agents on these forums the following message and through the course of 3-5 days I successfully was granted an expception and allowed to swap out my device (with no contract extension or upgrade eligiblity extenstion). This was after several phone calls and numberous wasted hours trying to convince them the Fascinate was not a good phone.
If I have been rude in any way during this message, I sincerely apologize, I did not mean it. I am a frsutrated owner of a bad piece of electronics. I am aware it is not VZW's fault, but I think you need to stand beind the phones you sell and rectify situations that are bad.
I am a Samsung Fascinate owner and to say the least this phone has been the biggest source of frustration I have ever had to endur in the 20+ years I have owned a cellular phone.
The have been number rous issues with my original phone and the replacement (certified replacement) phone I have gotten. These issues include, but are not limited to:
    1. glitchy UI
    2. constant forecloses and freezes
    3 auto reboots
    4. inoperable phone for 20 - 30 minutes at a time. Can't access apps, can't make calls, can't send texts, phone is useless to me.
    5. not receiving calls/texts
    6. missing voicemails
    7. increased battery drain
    8. random flickering of screen lights while using the phone.
Now I have performed the following steps at the suggestion of VZW tech support on both my orginal phone an replacement phone
    1. Hard resets, factory resets
    2. Soft resets,
    3. Clear cache on the phone
    4. Removing apps
    5. Updating roaming capabilities
After all these issues and all the suggestion on fixes, the phone still performs poorly and is not a reliable phone at all. Like I stated previously i am beyond frustrated.
I am aware these problems are software issues not a hardware issue; a refurbed Fascinate will not correct them. Hard resets do not fix the problems. I have scoured the message boards on this website (VZW forums) and I am aware the VERIZON is aware of all these issues with multiple Fascinate users.
I am asking to be allowed to swap my Fascinate for another, DIFFERENT model of phone. I am fine if that is a refurb, as long as it is a DIFFERENT model of phone and not a Fascinate. I know this is possible because users on your very own forum are stating it has been done. I am asking it be done in my case
Best thing I can say is stick to it....sitck to you guns and don't back down and don't be allowed to think there is afix when there is not.

  • My take on the fascinate

Ok, I typically have not liked the droid platformed phones, sometimes because of the phone itself (moto droid, incredible), sometimes because of the OS (or applied front UI) (ally, any moto blur phone ) and others because of OS limitations at the time I was looking at it (eris). Well, I had a NE2 to use, and went in to play with this phone. I love this phone !! It has nuance and swype, two things rare on the droid platform, a decent speaker, good call quality, an awesome screen, a decent front UI, some decent stock apps/ widgets, and a sexy sleek profile.
Now, it is not perfect, I have yet to try gps for any real period of time yet, and bing is default (not that I am anti bing, it just does not give accurate directions in my area), and it comes with a lot of boat ware.
Coming from an omnia 2, I was used to swype, touch wiz, and an amoled screen, but the fascinate has much more refined versions of all of these. The swype is much more accurate and quick, the touch wiz is better looking and smoother, and the screen is just amazing.
This phone does have mobile hotspot, wireless b, g, and n, but you can only tether wirelessly, and are restricted to 2gb. It has pinch to zoom, but to do that, it has a capacitive digitizer, meaning you cannot use a stylus. There are times where I like the precision of a stylus, even though this is the most precise capacitive device I have used.
This phone has samsung's second generation amoled screen, this gives the phone a slim profile, along with good battery life and displays pictures and videos in a way that will amaze you. all without the annoying color show (each brightness had its own hue on the omnia 2). A second speaker would have been nice, as it gives music more depth and quality, but the one is better than ones on comparable phones.

Oh, I also need to add how fast and responsive this phone is, it is amazing, even compared to other droid phones I have used.

  • Task Manager for Incredible 2

    Hello to All,
Quick question I hoped someone could answer.  I previosly had the Samsung Fascinate.  On that phone, there was a task manager that you could use to see what programs and apps were running in the background so you could turn them off to save battery life.  This was nice because you did not have to download something like Advanced Task Killer that used a lot of battery.
Does the Incredible 2 have something like this because I am not seeing it?  If not, where can I go on the phone to see what is running so I can turn them off?  Or am I stuck downloading an app?  If so, any recommendations?
    Thank you for your help.

Here is my 2 cents.  Android has it's own task management system.  How do you know which apps you should kill using and which ones you shouldn't?  I can see maybe an app that requires GPS services and drains battery.  But the android software knows what's best for the system.  Not us dumb humans.  Generally if you google this subject you will see that you shouldn't need a task killer app or you shouldn't be killing apps.  If it bothers you restart your phone.  Let it do it's thing.  Here's a quote from online:
    When does an application “stop”?
A common misunderstanding about Android multitasking is the difference between a process and an application. In Android these are not tightly coupled entities: applications may seem present to the user without an actual process currently running the app; multiple applications may share processes, or one application may make use of multiple processes depending on its needs; the process(es) of an application may be kept around by Android even when that application is not actively doing something.
The fact that you can see an application’s process “running” does not mean the application is running or doing anything. It may simply be there because Android needed it at some point, and has decided that it would be best to keep it around in case it needs it again. Likewise, you may leave an application for a little bit and return to it from where you left off, and during that time Android may have needed to get rid of the process for other things.
A key to how Android handles applications in this way is that processes don’t shut down cleanly. When the user leaves an application, its process is kept around in the background, allowing it to continue working (for example downloading web pages) if needed, and come immediately to the foreground if the user returns to it. If a device never runs out of memory, then Android will keep all of these processes around, truly leaving all applications “running” all of the time.
f course, there is a limited amount of memory, and to accommodate this Android must decide when to get rid of processes that are not needed. This leads to Android’s process lifecycle, the rules it uses to decide how important each process is and thus the next one that should be dropped. These rules are based on both how important a process is for the user’s current experience, as well as how long it has been since the process was last needed by the user.
Once Android determines that it needs to remove a process, it does this brutally, simply force-killing it. The kernel can then immediately reclaim all resources needed by the process, without relying on that application being well written and responsive to a polite request to exit. Allowing the kernel to immediately reclaim application resources makes it a lot easier to avoid serious out of memory situations.
If a user later returns to an application that’s been killed, Android needs a way to re-launch it in the same state as it was last seen, to preserve the “all applications are running all of the time” experience. This is done by keeping track of the parts of the application the user is aware of (the Activities), and re-starting them with information about the last state they were seen in. This last state is generated each time the user leaves that part of the application, not when it is killed, so that the kernel can later freely kill it without depending on the application to respond correctly at that point.
In some ways, Android’s process management can be seen as a form of swap space: application processes represent a certain amount of in-use memory; when memory is low, some processes can be killed (swapped out); when those processes are needed again, they can be re-started from their last saved state (swapped in).

  • Updating from a fascinate

I was thinking of upgrading from a fascinate that i have been pleased with. I have unlimited data and the hotspot 2 gb plan. The hotspot is pretty quick and generally works well. If i go to a nexus or razr  should i expect way better results out of the hotspot feature.  Anyone have a comparison between the fascinate and the other two?  and would my plan be the same with the upgrade?  Any comments welcomed    Jesse

As far as your plan, I would do the upgrade at an actual Verizon store, not at a place like Best Buy, or any other secondary Verizon resale center. I have heard people who lost their unlimited data plan when upgrading their phones at these locations. Doing the upgrade at a Verizon store should not make you lose your unlimited plan.

Just switched from safari on my imac. When using search menu in safari I had the option to "find on this page," which was an incredible help while doing research and looking for specific phrases/words. Is there any way to have this feature using firefox?

I think Safari has the same keyboard shortcut as Firefox "command+F" on a Mac or "Ctrl+F" on Windows.
Look in the lower left corner for the Find. There are more likely to be differences in Find Next and Find Previous in the keyboard shortcuts, but continuing at the Find bar at the bottom doesn't matter what browser you use. There is an "X" there to dismiss the Find bar. In Windows the "Esc" key will dismiss the bar if you are within the find text entry area.
    Keyboard shortcuts:
    * [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Keyboard%20shortcuts?s=keyboard&r=0&as=s Keyboard shortcuts | How to | Firefox Help], from Mozilla very limited number of shortcuts but will show correctly for your system
    * [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/keyboard.htm Firefox and other Browser Keyboard Shortcuts (Comparison Table)], more comprehensive but is oriented to Windows users with some guidelines for Mac and Linux users.

  • Thinking about this upgrade. How is your call quality, clearity on your Samsung Fascinate?

    Hi,
Upgrading to driod 2 or Facinate, how is the call quaulity and clearity in the Fascinate? Need some real input.
    Thank you

Overall, I think it is a great phone.  As with any mobile phone, you are not going to get everything you want.  There are some things that I wish were available on this phone, but overall, I am satisfied.
As for call clarity, I have read on other websites that noise cancellation and call clarity is an issue.  I have not noticed any problem.  The calls sound fine to me.
Pros: Great screen; fast; lots of nice features; small.
Cons: wish it had a front facing camera as well as a rear camera; wish it had better notifications for missed calls and voicemails instead of a little icon up top (though you can download any number of apps to take care of this issue).
Not an issue: Bing.  You will read a lot of people upset that Bing is the default search engine on this phone and that this caused a lot of people to not purchase this phone.  For me, it is a non-issue.  You can still use Google.  I put a Google shortcut on my home page and that solved that problem.  But some people are upset that Verizon did not give you a choice.
If you like the phone and the only reason you don't like it is because of Bing, then to me, that is not enough of a reason to not buy the phone.  I tested out the Fascinate with the Droid X and Droid Incredible.  I liked all the phones.  For me, the Droid X was too big.  The guy at Verizon told me the Incredible had the worst battery life.  I had told him that I wanted to be able to get through at least the whole day without having to charge the phone until over night.  He said that if you used the internet, texted, etc. on a regular basis, then not to get the Incredible because of the battery life.  That, coupled with the features with the Fascinate, caused me to get that phone.
Overall, you will find things you like about each phone and things you dislike.  Go to the store, try them all out, watch some videos online that compare the phones (there are a ton of videos on line that compare the Fascinate, X, and Incredible phones to each other), and that should help you.
