Compass App not in updated ios 7, any thoughts?

I just updated my iPod Touch, current generation, to ios 7, and the compass app is not there. Any thoughts on how to remedy this?

Get a device that has a digital compass only devices with cellular radios/GPS have the Compass app since only those devices have a digital compass.

Yap, sad but true...
The most annoying problem, besides iMessage, is the keyboard, it's horrible on my iPhone 4 in Safari. Some on some formulars the keyboard is so **** slow that I had to stop typing after 2nd word.
But I could fix the iMessage Problem, first turn off iMsg, then you have to backup your Phone on your PC/Mac in iTunes, turn off auto sync when done and pull the phone off. Then go to the Phone settings and reset everything, then choose "set up as new device".
When done go to settings and activate iMsg and wait for activation, it will work! After you're done plug the phone back to your PC/Mac and restore from the Backup you made before. Now go to phone settings again and check if iMsg is on, if not (as it was in my case), turn it on and activate again, it will work now!!!
Attention: Apps and Music have to be resynced or downloaded after this, they are NOT part of the Backup.
This was what Apple tech. support told me to do and it worked fine.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

Quicktime no longer plays my mp4's smoothly since i updated my system, any thoughts ?

I have been enjoying my Gopro Hero and playing mp4's on my Macbook. I updated the book from 10.5.8 to 10.7.5. With the upgrade Quicktime got upgraded to 10.1. All other aspects of the upgrade work fine however mp4s that played smoothly before are now unwatchable as Quicktime will not play them smoothly.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Before I answer, let me provide a bit of history.
When iMovie was released, it was written in the "C" programming language. It stayed that way through v2.1.2. Then in v3.0 it was re-written in a language called "Cocoa". The result was a product that couldn't be used for more than a few minutes before it crashed or destroyed the video footage it was being used to process. It took several releases before iMovie resurfaced as something to be trusted.
Now Apple has done it again with Quicktime. This time the rewrite was from a collection of languags to "Objective C". And voila; we have "Mavericks" and Quicktime 10.1. And another period of time to avoid Quicktime "upgrades".
Personally I don't use OSX more than 10 hours a year and then for VERY specific tasks that I absolutely can't do in Mac OS 9.2.2. So I have no clever way to give you for reverting. My brute-force approach would be to erase an unused disk and install everything that you had on the original disk on the erased disk before you let auto-update loose on the ill-fated original one.
You might also ask in a forum that is specific to OSX. This forum is actually for the older stuff that was released before X showed up.

My Verizon app not working after iOS 7 update

I have an iphone 4s. After I upgraded to ios 7, the my verizon app stopped working. Today, the app got an update in the app store to version 3.6.0. I installed the update, but it still does not work. When I run it, it spins the circle dots for a while and comes back with "Error: A communication error has occured [sic]. Please ensure Internet connection and try again." And it has a "Reload App" button, which I press, and it does the same thing. This happens whether I'm on wifi or 3g. Several times I've tried rebooting the phone, deleting and reinstalling the my verizon app, but it still doesn't work. Does anyone else have this problem? How did you solve it? Thanks.

I did the network reset, but that didn't help. FYI if you're thinking of resetting network settings, the only negative side-effect is that the phone forgets all of its wifi networks.
I did a restore from backup via iTunes, and that didn't help either.
I've had a couple other issues with iOS 7, and what I did was reset the firmware via iTunes but I didn't restore from backup. Now My Verizon works. The reason I did this drastic step was because my Safari was messed up in iOS 7 in another way, and restoring from backup didn't help that either, but I had a hunch that getting Safari fixed would fix My Verizon. (I can't know for sure if I was right about that.)
Here's the thing: Apps like My Verizon that really just load web pages use Safari's settings for the web. So I would try this if I were still stuck with My Verizon not working: Go into Safari settings, and clear cookies and history and cache data, and make sure the "Block Cookies" setting is set to either "Never" or "From third parties and advertisers." Then reboot your phone for good measure, and try My Verizon again.

Apps not automatically updating in iOS 7.1.2. Is anyone else having similar problems?

I have an iPhone 5s, iPad 3, and iPod, but a couple of days ago, my apps quit auto-updating. All devices have iOS 7.1.2. Anyone else having this problem, and is it related to the new release of iOS 8?

It could be. I'd imagine that the servers are swamped with millions of gig plus iOS8 downloads, and now today millions of iPhone activations and people trying to get apps for their new phone. It could be that auto updates were suspended due to traffic, or may just be overwhelmed by traffic.
I would give it a week. If it's still not working then then dig into it and see if something could be wrong.

Why do my apps not download/update on ios7/iPhone 4?

My apps. will not install or update on my iPhone 4 after downloading ios7.
This loading symbols appears and will stop as soon as I quite the app store. Then absolutely nothing happens. If I don't quit the app store, this loading symbol stays, yet nothing appears to happen.
I tried to update them by plugging my phone in and using my Macbook Pro/iTunes but I can't even work this out.
EDIT: I should add, I'm using iTunes 11.1

I have recently faced the same issue on iPhone 4S, wherein which I cannot download any apps or I cannot update any installed apps even on celullar data same result.
Internet works fine. All apps requiring internet work fine.
iPhone 4S running on iOS 7.0.6
Tried all basic troubleshooting like Reset iPhone, Reset network settings, Power Cycle the Router - NO RESULT
Try This - Click on sync under the Apps tab and let the Sync complete.
Tried downloading apps - worked
Tried updating apps - worked

Apps not working on ios 4.0?

I purchased the Top Gun app before i updated to ios 4.0 and it was working just fine. Now after installing ios 4.0 it won't load up any levels and just automatically goes straight back to the home screen. After reading many reviews on the app (Annoyingly I read them after buying it) it seems that Paramount (Developers) have not added an update yet, so that it would be possible to play this game on ios 4.0 firmware. How do you get Apple or Paramount to notice this problem? I've reported it to Paramount and I never get any replies, and the same has happened to a lot of other customers. How can they not take any notice of us? We have all paid £1.19 for something that we can't even use. Surely Apple could have a word with the developers...I just want this to be sorted out for me and everyone else who have bought this app and other apps that may not work on ios 4.0. This is an issue that needs addressing!

Developers are probably working at the moment trying to update and optimize all their apps for iOS4, whilst producing new apps. It is a tough job for them, and they will update in time. I'm sure they have taken notice of all the reviews calling for an update and are working as hard as they can.

Why is the original YouTube app not in update 6.1.3?

I recently updated and there is no YouTube, can someone please tell me why this is or how to get it back? Much appreciated.

The YouTube app is not included with iOS 6. Google offers their own app for free via the iTunes Store, now in an iPad version. There are also third-party alternatives, one of which may suit you better. Jasmine is one that a number of people are recommending. You can also use the mobile version of the YouTube site

I am not seeing apps to be updated in Marketplace, I need to manually visit the app and then tap on "update" button, if I came to know that there is an update for it.
I am using Lumia 920 on AT&T.
What's worng with that phone? This is my second replacement from Nokia! Come on guys! Stop serving broken experience.

@adrianhughes yes, QR is a good alternate, however imagine I have 30+ non-Nokia apps and I don't have time to go around all the apps everyday in App Store or keep my eye out for app updates announcement on WPCentral.com or any other blog and then manually visit the apps and tap Update individual.
Although I love Metro UI, and Lumia 920 camera is far ahead from iPhone however things are still not yet matured in Nokia+Microsoft world yet. Oh well.
By the way I just verified that only Nokia Lumia related WP8 having that issue. HTC 8x don't have that kind of bug.

Compass app not installed when I upgraded our iPhone 3G's

I upgraded our two iPhones (both 3G) and Compass app failed to appear. Voice Recorder showed up but not Compass. Did I do something wrong?

Totally agree mate. We all have apps we can't use. Ridiculous. I had 2 updates on the 17th. But that's it. I have 20 other apps i can't use.
