Compass in iOS 7 iPhone 4s shows wrong gps coordinates
The compass in ios 7 shows incorrect current location gps coordinates. Any ideas why or what can be done to correct this?
Try Settings > Compass > Use True North = "On"

Iphone 4 showing wrong IP address for home wireless
2 days ago we reset our home wireless password and updated our devices (ipad, laptop, and two cell phones). Now my iphone 4 will no longer connet to the wireless. It accepts the new password to join the network but it never connects. It is showing wrong IP address. How can I change it to the correct IP ? Tried hard rest, forget network, and renew lease all trying to get it to automatically update the info. Out of ideas. Any suggestions?
I have the exact same router as you, I have Comcast, and I am having the exact same INFURIATING problem.
Comcast and Apple have no ideas. Linksys tells me I am having a router problem.
I even went so far as to buy a new router and modem from Linksys (as they claim they no longer make the router/modem combo because it doesn't work well). I still don't buy this... my PC, my PS3, my DS... all of them connect to the router perfectly.
I have the new modem and router here and planned to give that a whirl tonight but Comcast was being difficult and saying it could take 72 hours to activate my new modem. Totally unsat. I had them reconnect the WCG200 and I am still trouble shooting to no avail...
If anyone finds a fix (short of a new router and new modem)... please post! -
IPhone/iPad started showing wrong gps location in home

My wife and I have iPhone 5's and an iPad 2(wifi). All using the latest iOS. Because we don't get a strong signal in our house we have the AT&T 3G microcell to provide cell reception in house. Our broadband internet is through Comcast. We've been at this house for several years.
Everything, Apple-wise, has worked fine, then about 4 weeks ago I noticed that Apple maps, google maps, and all apps utilizing gps started showing my location in our house to be in Tallahassee FL. I live in Vero Beach, FL about 350 miles away. Both iPhones and the iPad show the exact same (address) location. If I leave our house, the location service work accurately on all devices so I know they aren't malfunctioning.
I've reset all devices, reset location services and network settings on all devices to no avail. I've even registered the mac address of our router (netgear) with Skyhook wireless thinking it would propagate back.
I've spoken to both AT&T and Comcast to no avail. Since the iPad (wifi only) is showing the same location, I don't think this relates to the 3g Microcell (it does have a gps for 911 purposes and I have reentered our correct phy. location to make sure).
Since we both have iPhones I don't know why Apple's wifi hotspot isn't updating or why it even changed to begin with.
After resetting everything-ios devices, 3g microcell, router, modem and computers- I'm baffled how to solve this.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.Most of these posts are older, but the problem is the same. My GPS locator is about 600 feet off from my actual location. This is on my iPad Gen 3. The comments are varied and I'm not sure they apply. Chris says the server can be throwing the GPS off. I have a Verizon My-Fi Hotspot, so it is actually right with me and the iPad. Is this different than having a 4G built into the iPad? Apple did not think so.
Also, I have closed and reopened the app several times and the location is always off - even though it varies from about 225 feet to 650 feet and all have been outside in the open. Most of the time, my home location is off by 600+ feet and I have not tried the GPS downtown or in other locations.
Please note that I am not a novice to the use of a GPS. I have used them for years in hunting and traveling. This is, however, my first use with an iPad.

Have a Sprint iPhone 5, shows wrong time zone when LTE is on
I live in Knoxville TN and this just started happening. I've tried resetting and restoring, but it wil go back to being wrong after 10 min or less. Is there anyone else that has ahd this problem and fixed it. Running iOS 7.0.3
I too live in Knoxville and my phone has started doing that as well. It goes back one hour whenever LTE is on.

Iphone 6 showing wrong storage?!
hello everyone, this problem began yesterday after synching.
I Have a iPhone 6 128gb.
when looking at my storage, I have used 49gb for music, and around 5BG for photos/apps/videos. So, you can say in total I have consumed around 54gb, which should leave me with a healthy 60gb or so.
my phone is saying I only have 9gb left?!
IN iTunes the bar along the bottom which shows a breakdown of your storage shows over 50gb being used by 'other', when this is definitely not the case!!
does anyone have any advise of what I can do?

New iPhone 5 shows wrong phone # on Activation screen
Ordered a new iPhone 5 from Apple's online store. Received it yesterday. Opened it this morning. On the "Activation -> Confirm your phone number" screen, the number shown is incorrect. The screen instructs the user to call "800-MY-IPHONE" if the device's phone number is incorrect. There's no one at that phone number today. Offices are closed for the holiday.
Does anyone know if there's something I can do to finish activating the new phone today? Or am I going to have to wait till tomorrow? Also: Am I correct in thinking that I'll probably need to obtain a different SIM card before I can use it?I doubt it's a hardware issue. One thing I've noticed is your iPhone 5 is loaded with radios, and I think it's best to shut off those you're not using at the moment (e.g., Bluetooth).
The other thought I have is to get the app called "Mark the Spot" if you don't have it. It's a free app from AT&T you can use to notify them of exactly where you have specific issues with their coverage, and just what those issues are.
I also have an iPhone 5 and notice different coverages showing up from previous iPhones, and that motivates my response. -

When I try to get the beta update for iOS on iPhone nothing shows up for the iPhone. It only shows up for Mac. And it's been that way since before iOS 3 was released for everyone

I have been through the Apple help pages and followed every last instruction to the letter, changing USB port, on/off, hard resets, uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it, zapping the P-RAM, three different cables, and nothing. It is driving me absolutely mad.

My iPhone 5 is showing wrong carrier name (near signal bars and also in the settings) even after turning off multiple times and even after changing carrier settings from automatic to manual and Vice Versa. My device is on iOS 7.0.4. I've tried replacing the simcard but still it is showing wrong carrier name. My service provider told me that I'm using the correct signals. I've purchased this device whilst I was in the UK with Vodafone as the carrier but the device has been unlocked to network. I've now moved to India and I'm using AIRTEL but the carrier name is displayed as VODAFONE IN.
I've moved from Hyderabad to Bangalore and my phone started to show the correct carrier name, as soon as I entered to Karnataka cirlce from A.P. circle(I was on roaming). I think it's Airtel that relays the name as such in Hyd(A.P.) and it's nothing to do with the device. So, my problem is solved.

I performed an iOS 7 software update on my iPhone yesterday, and now the phone is not working at all. The iPhone screen shows to connect to iTunes to restore. I've have done this, and still the iPhone is not working. What going on?
I have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue. -

I have an iphone 4s ios 7.0.2. Before updating to the latest ios i had songs in my iphone. after updating also it was there, but when i wanted to put more songs through itunes in my iphone , i synced with itunes first with my iphone. Then i pressed sync all songs and then itunes said that all songs had been synced. But in my iphone it showed me that there is no songs at all and i have to download it from itunes store. The songs which i had also went from my iphone. I dont know what happened. I updated my itunes to the latest one 11.1.1. But still no change . Can anyone tell me what is the problem. What to do?

Change how it syncs by enabling Manually manage music and videos, then you can drag and drop the music that you want on your iPhone. Revert it back to test to see if that resolves the issue.

A couple songs on my iPhone 4s show the wrong album cover but they play the wrong song. When i go to albums it shows the right cover but when i pick the song it will show a diffrent cover. Its like some of my song covers are switched. How do i fix this?
There are 2 things you can do, the first (and by far the easiest) is to delete all of the music off of your iPhone and then put it back on. Also you might want to check that everything is in the correct place on the iTunes library. If you downloaded any music from iTunes without using a cd and it is not in your iTunes library you can go to the iTunes Store and on the right side under "Quick Links" and select purchased. It will let you download anything you have ever purchased in iTunes.
The 2nd option is to backup your iPhone and save ALL of your apps to iTunes on your computer. Restore the iPhone and set up as a new iPhone, Don't worry all of your contacts will be in the cloud if you have it enabled. Once you set it up you can re-download all of your lost apps for free. Make sure your iTunes music is all in order and then sync the music back up.
