COMPATIBILITY OF ACROBAT 9 STANDARD WITH WINDOWS 8.1

We have Acrobat 9 Standard but since we moved to Windows 8.1 the files become blurred and there is a error message saying the licence has expired...
Is it posible to make Acrobat 9 Standard work on Windows 8.1?4

As far as I know, AA 9 will probably work on Win8.1, though MS seems to be trying to make such things hard. You may likely have to install updates. As for the license, I have the same question as TSN. The blurring may simply be setting the display preferences for smoothing or it could be the specific PDF. Be sure to open a standard PDF (such as a download from Adobe -- like the manual for your version at Archive). I have also heard that many things in Win8.1 are an improvement and other things are apparently ticking a lot of users off. I am not a Win8.1 user, so I am only speculating. At this point, I think the first thing you need to do is open Acrobat and use Help>Updates and install updates until you are current. That may solve some of the problems. The display preferences may solve the rest (unless you are just looking at a bad PDF -- reason to look at the manual I suggested).

I just bought a ScanSnap scanner and it came with Adobe Acrobat Standard for Windows - but I have a Mac - can I get the Mac version?

    Hi Dcee3,
Acrobat Standard has not been developed for Mac platform so Mac version is not available. It can only run on windows machine.

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard 6 & Windows 8

I own Adobe Acrobat Standard 6.0.
Can I use it on a Windows 8.1 computer?
If not, can I upgrade Adobe Acrobat Standard 6.0 at minimal cost?
I will be purchasing a new Windows 8.1 laptop and discarding my old laptop.

You may be able to get it to work with some workarounds that I have tried on various Win7 versions. The 64-bit system creates additional problems, so you may want to ask if a 32-bit system will meet your need. Even with the workarounds (if they would work for you), the extra effort to use them gets annoying quickly. You would also have problems reading a lot of newer PDFs I would guess. Now is probably the time to purchase a new version (as TSN, AA6 does not qualify for an upgrade). There was a sale before Christmas, but not sure if there will be another.

  • Issues installing Acrobat XI with Windows 7 64 bit

Trying to install acrobat reader on a new computer build with Windows 7 64 bit.
The installer file downloads OK and executes OK, but as it start to install I get a blank, small, dark grey window "Adobe Reader Installer"  Completely blank except for the border and title, no buttons, no words.
I've tried saving and running the installer with the same results.  Tried running Microsoft fixit with the same results.
    What next?

The same question is posted multiple times every day, and the answer is always the same: use the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
B.t.w. the name of the software is Adobe Reader, not Acrobat or Acrobat Reader.

  • Purchased Adobe Acrobat Standard DC (Windows,English). Will not install.

I just purchased and downloaded Adobe Reader CC and getting "Serial number you provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer."

Which did you download? Adobe Acrobat Standard DC or Adobe Acrobat Reader DC?
It sounds like Adobe Acrobat Standard if it's asking you for a serial number.
Which one are you trying to download?

  • Incompatibility of Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard with Windows 7

I have a new 64 bit Windows 7 computer and have been getting an error message when trying to install  AA 6.0 standard--not compatible with the operating system.  Any thoughts?

The real problem is the 64-bit aspect. Also, AcroTray will not generally work, meaning you would have to do extra operations to create a PDF. I doubt that AA6 will work at all on a 64-bit system. If you had a 32-bit system or possibly with 32-bit compatibility if that can be done you might be able to run it. However, you would have to change the printer port to FILE and then open any file created in Distiller to finish the process.
So if there is a way to install a 32-bit process in a compatibility mode on the system, there is an outside chance. In the long run you should just buy AAXI (not upgrade from 6) if you have the funds for that.

  • After Scanning a document, cannot save it in Acrobat X with Windows 7

Using Windows 7 a Kodak i40 scanner and Acrobat X Pro.  Document scans normally and image appears in Acrobat, however when selecting save or save as, nothing happens.  "Save as" does not open any windows.  If you try to close the document, it asks if you want to save it, click on yes and it does nothing, then try to close and the "do you want to save" message appears again and document is not saved. Anyone else see this or have a suggestion for a solution?
    Bob

As a work-around, I am able to select custom scan but you have to choose your scanner and after doing that click the options and change scan mode from native to memory.  This will allow you to scan and save or "save as" but after you close Acrobat the settings will revert back to what they were before.  I have even configured and saved presets with these same options but these settings are never saved when i close and re-open Acrobat

  • ERROR OF COMPATIBILITY BETWEEN ACROBAT X WITH OUTLOOK 2010

    Good Morning,
I have installed the Adobe Creative Suite 6 with Acrobat X and Microsoft Outlook 2010 both with their original licenses. The problem is that when you open a PDF file directly from Outlook, Adobe stops working properly and not to open any PDF file. To solve this problem I uninstall and install the Acrobat X.
Why this problem occurs? How to solve it?
    Best Regards

OFFICE 2010 requires updates of X. Open Acrobat and go to Help Updates (I think that works in CS). You can also check the version that you currently have. X is up to 10.1.13.

  • Can't seem to open docx attachments that have been sent via e-mail. using acrobat XI with windows 7

    can anyone make any suggestions

docx files are Word documents; you need to open them in Microsoft Word, not Adobe Reader or Acrobat.
If they automatically open in Reader/Acrobat, then your file association for .doc/.docx is corrupted, and you need to repair it.  See http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/change-the-program-that-opens-a-type-of-file

  • Clustering Free Hyper-V or Windows Server 2012 Standard with Windows Server 2012 Datacenter

    Hi,
Is anyone running a cluster which has Datacenter 2012 clustered with either Standard 2012 or Hyper-V 2012?
I have seen posts here and elsewhere that say it is possible but when I rang Microsoft Licencing team to discuss licensing in this scenario they advised me that the hardware and OS on each clustered server must be identical.
    Now I'm really confused.
    Thanks,

  • I am unable to install the coldfusion 10 mandatory update on standard  with windows 2008 server

I can download the files as specified, but cannot proceed from there

    Hello,
For some people the cf10_mdt_updt file has downloaded as zip extension, those have renamed download to jar extension.
    Perhaps you can try this:
    - copy  cf10_mdt_updt.jar file to CF10\jre\bin\
    - run CMD as Administrator and then CD to CF10\jre\bin\ path
    - Type in: java –jar cf10_mdt_updt.jar and press Enter
    - follow the graphic user instructions to install the mandatory update

  • Issue with adobe acrobat 7.1.0 standard on windows 7 professional 64-bit

    hi,
i have been using my aa 7.1.0 standard with windows xp professional sp2 32-bit for over a couple of years with great ease.
recently, i upgraded to windows 7 professional 64-bit. when i reinstalled aa 7.1.0 standard on that, i hit a wall. i get this error 20225 which says that the adobe pdf port and printer could not be created. i have tried detect and repair, that just repeats the same error. i have scoured through several webpages to find out a solution, but to no avail. there was one suggestion that a printer port be created manually, that did not work (as i could not find the suggested inf file).
can someone please suggest what i can do to get my beloved aa 7.1.0 standard to work with my beloved windows 7 professional 64-bit?
    kind regards,
    am.

Another thing to consider when using Acrobat 7.x is that Adobe has announced Acrobat 7.x support ends December 2010.
