Compatibility of Browsers with Netweaver CE 7.2

Hi Experts,
   We are using SAP Netweaver CE 7.2 and are trying the view a WebDynpro Application on the Mobile Device.
We have used the below devices but are getting some error message when using BarCode Reader and FunctionKey Controls.
The Devices used are:
Psion Teklogix u2013 WorkAbout PRO (Windows CE 5.0) - 480x640 Resolution
Psion Teklogix u2013 NEO           (Windows CE 5.0) - 240x320 Resolution
Naurtech browser
We even tried removing all the controls and put just a text box on the VIew, but the same error repeats.
The Error states:
500   Internal Server Error SAP NetWeaver Application Server/Java AS

I do not have a solution to your issue, but I do have a question for you -
We are implementing a solution around the same device and browser specifications that you mentioned. PSion Teklogix and a Naurtech/IE browser. My question to you is around this -
> What capabilities do you see extra in a Naurtech browser that are not present in a Internet Explorer?
> Is there a hindside to the deal if we stick with a IE browser and not spend on the Naurtech broswer?

ASk in the DW firum and be much more specific. Web page rendering issues are specific to specific versions of browsers and you may simply be using some bad code that messes up your page.

Minimum SAP versions compatable with NetWeaver?

Hi All,
I have a client who operate with a fragmented environment when using SAP. Is this uncommon? I suppose not.
Our software has PBNW certification but I would like to know if my client can actually take advantage of the SAP NetWeaver integration. I am unsure of what versions of SAP are compatible with NetWeaver Platform.
My Client works with SAP versions 4.7, 4.6, 5.x, ECC6 (MySAP).
Any information on minimum requirements would be a great help.
Also any information on how the pricing structure works for XI data transfer from SAP to a PBNW application is calculated would be great.

You need to be a SAP customer to be able to login.
Anyway, what do you want to achive with NW. If you want to use specific NW tasks with ERP data by e.g. calling remote function modules, any version of ERP will do.

Can't create portal application project with netweaver development studio

I want to follow the toturial (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/9e/7d96f7087311d7b84600047582c9f7/frameset.htm) to create a portal application with netweaver , but I am failed at the first step, I can not found "Portal Application Project" option by new->other.
the version of netweaver development studio I am using is

Build id: 200702220224
do I need to install a plug - in? if yes, anyone can tell me where to download it?

Goto File> New> Project> select Portal Application> enter project name and click ok...

Dear all,
Recently I ordered on SAP Knowledge shop the Netweaver Test-Drive 2004 DVD (the 32-bit version for Linux (Red Hat Enterprise)).
Before the installation I had already installed Oracle Enterprise 11g (Release 2). However the DVD installed both AS and DB2.
What I would like to ask is that is it possible to use my already installed Oracle database with Netweaver and
remove DB2 from hard disk?

How to access Views of ERP with Netweaver BPM?

Hello,
i want to create an example-application with Netweaver BPM and Visual Composer.
For this, more employees should share the creation of a new Material in an ERP Backend.
Every emplyoee should enter data of a different View of MM01 ! (like Basic Data, Sales..., Purchasing., ..)
I thought about using the Service "Create Material Basic Data" but there are only little options for the data you can enter
(only InternalID, Base Units, Description...).
So my question is, how can i get access to the usual views of MM01 with Netweaver BPM and Visual Composer?
Or how can i enter more Materialdata with Webservices?

What you could also do is make use of MDM Webdynpro Components since your intention is probably to update master data at the end you can use MDM Webynpro Components and then use them a webdynpro application. Use the webdynpro component in the BPM Process in return or use the option given in the previous reply as well.

What is the implementation strategy for SAP Business Suite?
With the unrestricted shipment of enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0, only implementations within standalone installations of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 are supported (e.g. for BI, EP, etc.).
For existing installations of SAP Business Suite systems (i.e. SAP ERP 6.0, SAP CRM/SRM/PLM, ...) etc.) that are based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0, the SAP enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 shall not be installed separately, as it will result in malfunctioning of the installation procedure and/or the final system state.
Business Suite 7 (generally available since May 5th, 2009) is technically based on the SAP enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0. All relevant parts of enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 are included in the respective SAP Business Suite 7 installation routines and will be installed automatically underneath the SAP Business Suite systems when an upgrade to SAP Business Suite 7 is performed. Installing BI 4.1 with Netweaver Web Application Servers : Windows/HP-UX

We are about to install SAP BI 4.1 SP3, with Netweaver as Web Application Servers.
And yes, according to the Product Availability Matrix HP-UX is definitely not a supported platform .
The problem is that our company like many others have invested huge amount of money in their HP-UX infrastructure,
and intend to reuse it, as long as it is supported by SAP.
OK it is very confusing, let me clarify
After discussing with other SAP customers facing the same dilemma :
We intend to :
* Install the Oracle Database (hosting CMS and Audit schema) on HP-UX ( The PAM only says that the Database Connector is not Supported on HP-UX)
* Install BI.4 Server Components Application/Intelligence layer on Windows as clearly indicated in the PAM
* Install Netweaver Application Servers on ...HP-UX if supported by SAP ? I have some problems reading the PAM regarding this last point
The PAM seems to indiccate that HP-UX is not supported as a platform for NEtweaver,
but then on the next page it says :
(*3) SAP NetWeaver is supported with SAP JVM on all supported operating systems
What does that mean ???
SAP Netweaver/SAP JVM is supported on HP-UX
Does that mean that we could install NEtweaver JAva Stacks on HP-UX ?

Enterprise Portal bundled with Netweaver in ERP6.0 - runtime only?

We are trying to get PBNW certification for our product, which means we must get XI-CNT and EP-BP certification. In order to get EP-BP, we need to at least develop iViews for EP. We have been told that EP is bundled with NetWeaver that is delivered with ERP6.0. I am assumeing that this is only a "run-time" and not a development environment (i.e. would not contain tools such as Visual Composer).
Am I correct in this assumption, and that we need to purchase the EP Development environment seperatel?

For SAPUI5 you can go ahead with Portal 7.3 and ECC 6.0 EHP3.
Refer SAP note 1747308 - Installation Guide UI development toolkit for HTML5 (SAPUI5)
for installation pre-requisites and steps.
Now for external facing portal & transaction iView can you please elaborate the requirement

Even in Sandbox landscape having R/3 & XI on the samebox is not recommended.
Moreover SAP R/3E & XI 7.0 don't have the same WebAs version(R/3 WebAS- 6.40 & XI WebAs -7.00). Hence they cannot be installed due to product compatibility. It should be atleast ECC 6.0.

Compatibility of Informatica with SAP Netweaver BI 2004s

Currently we are using Informatica Power Center Version 6 with SAP BW Version 3.1. So far there has been no problems in terms of connectivity or extraction. We are now looking to upgrade to SAP Netweaver BI 2004s. Would anyone be able to tell whether our existing Informatica would be compatible with the Netweaver version ? I am told that the latest Informatica is now version 7. Do we need to also upgrade that Informatica to version 7 in order for it to be compatible with SAP Netweaver BI 2004s?
