As per Sun Product Services: Unfortunately, no, that is not possible yet. JBoss is on our list of app-servers to support but it presently isn't supported. You should be able to use JCAPS Integration Server.

  • Ovm_utils: can create cpu compatibility group, but can't add vm servers

    Hi,
I am running a VM server pool with mixed CPU types. Today I took a closer look at Wim Coekaerts ovm_utils, which revealed that ovm_utils is able to create (arbitrary) cpugroups and move VM servers into them. I thought that this would be a nice thing to try, since it had always bogged me, that OVMM was too strict when it comes to live migration of VMs between VM servers with non-identical CPUs and that I had always use xm migrate -l to perform that task manually.
Now, setting up a new cpugroup using ovm_managercontrol was easy and went like this:
    ovm_managercontrol -u admin -p ********** -h localhost -c createcpugroup -n ASM_POOL
Which turn created a new cpugroup, as I verified with listcpugroups:
    [root@oraclevmm ovm_utils]# ovm_managercontrol -u admin -p *********** -h localhost -c listcpugroups
Oracle VM Manager Control utility 0.5.2.
    Manager version : 3.1.1.365
    Connected.
    Command : listcpugroups
    Group : Default_Intel_F6_M26
    Server : oraclevms04
    Server : oraclevms06
    Server : oraclevms05
    Group : ASM_POOL
    Group : Default_Intel_F6_M44
    Server : oraclevms01
    Server : oraclevms02
    Server : oraclevms03
    Group : Default_Intel_F6_M15
    Server : oraclevms08
    Exit...
However… putting any server into that group doesn't work:
    ovm_managercontrol -u admin -p *********** -h localhost -c addservertocpugroup -s oravlevms08 -n ASM_POOL
Oracle VM Manager Control utility 0.5.2.
    Manager version : 3.1.1.365
    Connected.
    Command : addservertocpugroup
Adding Server to CPU Compatibility group.
    Exit...
Now… no error message, but no dice either. The vm server oraclevms08 still belongs to its initial cpu group. It didn't work with any other VM server I tried.
Has anybody else tried this yet?

    Hi,
I used exactly the same commands as you but with :
Oracle VM Manager Control utility 0.5.2.
    Manager version : 3.1.1.305
This worked fine, from what i can see you just mis-typed your servername:
    -s oravlevms08 --> oraclevms08

  • How to change default compatibility level

How can one change the default setting for Compatibility, under Password Security - Setting. Default in Acrobat 8 is "Acrobat 5.0 and later". I would like to change this to "Acrobat 7.0 and later".

    Hi,
You cannot change the logging level which comes in console output.
The log configuration you have modified using EM, will change the soa log configuration. You can access the SOA logs at $DOMAIN_HOME/servers/soa_server1/logs/soa_server1-diagnostics.log file. This is the file, SOA used to store its component logs.

  • How do I completely disable initial "Checking Compatibility of Add-ons" pop-up for all users on a Citrix server where the FireFox was upgraded to 29.0.1

I have a set of Citrix servers, we need to upgrade the FireFox on them to 29.0.1
When I have done this, and a user runs FireFox, now the users are being presented with a pop-up "Checking Compatibility of Add-ons" which delays the start of FireFox.
I need to prevent this so users just see FireFox start up without any delays.
    I have installed the add-on that re-enables extensions.checkCompatibility and tried various ways of implementing it like pref("extensions.checkCompatibility", false);
However we seem to have a situation where the add-on that enables the setting is not loaded yet so the setting is not implemented.
How do I solve this for all users?

You can try to set the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone pref to ignore on the about:config
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone
You can use a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to specify new (default) values and possibly lock prefs.
Place a local-settings.js file in the defaults\pref folder where also the channel-prefs.js file is located to specify using mozilla.cfg.
    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
These functions can be used in the mozilla.cfg file:
defaultPref(); // set new default value
pref(); // set pref, but allow changes in current session
lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes

  • AirPort Extreme & Windows 8.0 compatability?

My Netgear wireless router just died and am researching an alternative for our household which includes 2 newer work related Dell laptops running Windows 8.0 and my 2 year old MacBook Pro and IPad 2. It seems most ever wireless router offered, whether an inexpensive throw away to high end ac products all have about 1/4 a1/3 of the reviews insisting they are garbage that doesn't even reliably stay connected to the internet let alone walk  on water as claimed.
Reviews of AirportExtreme claim reliable connection and ease of installation, both important. Forums, albeit several years old, claimed that the router shipped with channel 13 as default setting and that connecting to Windows clients was very difficult and many would not stay connected or had to be reset every time the windows machines hibernated or were shutdown. Are there persisting compatibility issues with Dells running Windows 8.0 or have they been addressed? Does one still need to change the channel to other than 13 to have it work stateside? Thanks for your help.

Hello borzo. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
I suspect the problem is that you have two active DHCP servers operating on your local network. One being the Win2K8 Server and the other is the AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn). By default, the AEBSn's DHCP server service will be enabled. The only way to disable it would be to reconfigure it as a bridge, i.e., Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode).

  • Are there solutions to Compatibility Issues with Thunderbird, Windows 8.1 and Anti-Virus Software, e.g., MacAfee?

Since I upgraded to Windows 8.1, Thunderbird freezes up and goes into "Not Responding" mode repeatedly every few minutes. My research indicates that it is a problem with compatibility with antivirus software, which obviously is needed with an e-mail program. How can this problem be solved, or is there an antivirus program that works seamlessly with Thunderbird and Windows 8.1?

Personally I use ESET NOD32. It is not cheap, but it is unobtrusive and appears to get the job done. Originally I was drawn there for their server protection, but since I no longer have windows servers that need is gone, but I see no reason to change.
    Previously over the years I have used;
    * Norton (Found it just to much embedded into the operating system. Something went wrong with it and Windows would not boot.
    * Microsoft Security Essentials. Any application using large data files was unworkably slow. That included Thunderbird.
    * AVG It was just clunky and I did not like it.
But the big issue these days is the products are not just anti virus, they are suites including firewalls, password managers/vaults and often spam and scam tools. It is usually these later tools that cause the most issues with the firewalls blocking anything but known versions of known software and spam tools that mess up because it has not had enough testing.
Basically your on your own in selecting a product5. I can not recommend one. But I seriously question the need for mail scanning. Especially after that remarkable admission by Symantec regarding Norton's not scanning mail.
Thunderbird does not run any scripts in mail, nor does it do anything with attachments before you open them and then it decodes them and places them in the temp folder where any good anti virus will scan them.
Personally I suggest anti virus rather than security suite software. Especially so if you use Chrome or Firefox browsers and they both use Google lists of known malware and phishing site to block inadvertent visits.
Windows has a firewall, your modem (over 90%) has one as well, those firewalls block ports, protocols and route traffic. Do you also need one that blocks programs?
Mozilla products have a password manager, do you need another? And so the list goes on.

  • Symantec & Oracle 10g Compatibility issues

    Hi all,
Recently i had virus attack on two of my database servers running oracle 10g. one is running on xp and the other on server 2003 r2.
i cleaned the viruses applied windows patches and then installed symantec endpoint protection 11.
after installing this teh system started crashing givin bsd.
in the xp machine i did a bit of r&d and found out that there was a problem with oracle and symantec together.
then i unsinstalled symantec made everything ok with the db and stopped db services and installed symantec back
this worked and sytem was up and running again
but the problem still continues with the windows server 2003
as soon as i uninstalled oracle the system crashed and now its not starting.
are there any compatibility issues between symantec and oracle 10g?
or something should be taken care on the oracle server before installing symantec?
Any suggestions or experience would really help.
    Regards
    Deepak

    Hi,
I guess the problem is with Symantic and the Virus .
As I know there is no direct ill-impact upon Oracle and Symantic together.
There might be another cause... So some more R&D :)

  • CF10 Some pages render blank, No configured web servers

I'm moving from CF8 to CF10 and having some issues. My CF10 install is a clean install on brand new server running Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit IIS 7.5. I've upgraded to CF version 10,0,11,285437. Out of the 50 or so Apps on the server almost everything works, but there are a few pages that just don't render at all. No error, nothing. Viewing the source for the page just shows an empty HTML page. Coldfusion logs are empty and there's 500 null error in the IIS logs.
While researching that issue I found many people recommending I rerun wsconfig after patching CF, so I tried that and it looks like my sites aren't configured correctly. During install I configured the sites individually (2 of them run in 32 bit while the cfadmin site runs in 64.) Now when I run the Web Server Configuration Tool as administrator I just get a Configured Web Servers box that is empty. When I click add the next window shows IIS, but the drop down for IIS Web Sites is disabled. Checking the Configure 32 bit web server option doesn't change anything. 99 out of a 100 pages work just fine, so it seems odd that the tool is telling me the server isn't configured. I'm not even sure where to start at this point.
EDIT: I've read most of the posts related to the wsconfig and none of the solutions presented yet make any difference. ASP.NET, .NET Extensibility, CGI, ISAPI Extensions, ISAPI Filters are all already installed. I've tried reinstalling CF, IIS, even going back to a clean snapshot of he OS several times and the result is always the same. I've even tried it with and without IIS Compatability.
Edit2: I've figured out the problem with wsconfig (McAfee IPS was preventing it from working.) Unfortunately, even after reconfiguring the servers I'm still getting the blank page problem. Nothing in any of the CF logs and a 500 null error in the IIS logs.

    Hi
Out of 20, if there are 10 coldfusion (.cfm) pages which are working fine and rest of the 10 are not working fine then you must run the code analyzer to check the error on those pages as you mentioned that you have moved to CF 10 from CF 8.
Run wsconfig as Run as Admin and then see how many connector showing up there? Like if you have configure webserver with All option, then it will display on 1.
    Thanks

  • Xsan 3 backwards compatibility

Will the new Xsan client included in Lion and Lion Server be backwards compatible with Xsan 2.1.1? Is Xsan 2.2 backwards compatible with Xsan 2.1.1? The reason I ask is that I have Xsan 2.1.1 running on two old G5 servers, and I am concerned about the path to moving onto an Intel server in the future. If the new Lion client/controller built into Lion is made to be backwards compatible, it will be a simple matter for me to connect a new Thunderbolt enabled Mini Server (when they become available <crosses fingers>) and have the new server take over as the primary Xsan controller. Add another Mini Server, and I can take the two G5's offline finally.
Otherwise, I will have to get a large Thunderbolt RAID, copy all my data to that RAID (a 3+ day prospect), tear down the existing Xsan, recreate it with a new server and then copy the data back again (another 3+ day prospect). This is not an acceptable upgrade strategy, and I hope very much Apple takes this into account this time. The last upgrade from Xsan1 to Xsan2 was fraught with peril, and I navigated those waters only after carefully digesting everything I could on the matter.

Flex 3 requires player 9.0.115. But, in FB3 you can set the
compatibility version so you can compile against the Flex 2 SDK
which can be run by earlier versions of the player.
To do this select Project > Properties > Flex Compiler.
Select "Use a Specific SDK" and then select Flex 2.0.1 Hotfix
    from the drop down.

  • Where's the like to go bck to v4 from v5? Several Addons aren't compatable with v5.

Today,, 6/21/11, I upgraded to version 5 from version 4. Serveral addons (FireGestures & TweakTube) aren't compatable and there are no udates for the addons. I want to go back to version 4 but can't find a download link. Where can I get the required v4 file/link?

I regularly export scaled down JPEG's for uploading to the web, and all my masters are 10 MP Nikon D80 RAW files with various adjustments. I batch apply exposure recovery, enhanced saturation, definition, and vibrancy, and sharpening to all photos, regardless of any other adjustments. I try to use shadows/highlights sparingly, since I know that can double the export time, but this isn't the root of the question.
Most of what you're asking for is right there. The values of each particular adjustment don't change the underlying issue, that something other than the CPU is the limiting factor. I timed an export of 20 images with the above settings (no shadows/highlights) and it averaged 2.7 seconds per image for a 1024x1024 max JPEG. Full size took 3.1 seconds, and the results for 8-bit TIFF's were the same as the equivalent pixel size as in JPEG. Add highlight/shadow and levels adjustments, and the times go up to 5.6 seconds for the 1024x1024 and 5.9 seconds for full size.
That doesn't sound like a lot of time, but most events I shoot end up having around 500 pictures to upload, which translates to 23-47 minutes of chugging, depending on the number of images that use highlight/shadows. While it's theoretically possible to keep working while exporting, Aperture just gets too unresponsive to make it worthwhile.
All that said, I don't really want speculation. I want to hear examples of hardware upgrades or other system changes that caused a corresponding improvement in Aperture performance. There's got to be some folks out there who added more RAM and then noticed "hey look, now all my cores are maxed out". Or perhaps someone did that and it had no effect, but changing video cards affected it. Or maybe there's something else I haven't thought of, but I can't imagine I'm the only one who's wondered "if Aperture can use all 2/4/8 cores, why can't it max them out too?"

  • Small Business Server 2003 Compatibility with Oracle 10G, licensing?

    Hello all,
Is Windows SBS 2003 compatible with Oracle 10G, I looked at the compatibility and didn't notice it but I wanted to see if anyone here had any experience with the two.

The licensing isn't by cpu slots, it's by the number
of cores times a multipier, which I believe for intel
is .5, so if you have a cpu w/ 2 cores, you would
purchase a 1 cpu license. If you have a quad core
cpu, you would need to purchase a 2 cpu license. I
would definitely talk to your sales rep about this to
make sure the multipier is right (and if it has
changed w/ intel quad technology). Thanks Jim. The multiplier used above for Intel is indeed correct. However, Oracle has (in the last few weeks) introduced the term 'socket' into it's licensing metrics as follows:
"When licensing Oracle programs with Standard Edition One or Standard Edition in the product name, a processor is counted equivalent to an occupied socket. See http://www.oracle.com/corporate/pricing/technology-price-list.pdf "
    To quote another source (CRN):
"..Standard Edition was licensed for servers with up to four single-core processor cores. For multicore chips, users could only license it for up to eight cores total. Oracle's formula was to multiply the number of cores by 0.50 to get the CPU license number to determine price. So a four-core box counted as two CPUs.
Now Standard Edition can be licensed on servers with up to four sockets, or four processors running one-, two- or four-core chips (and possibly a higher number of cores)." This source overlooks to mention that the multiplier relates to Intel!

  • Hardware Compatibility List for installation of solaris 10 on DELL units

    Hi,
I have a requirement to install solaris 10 on a few Dell servers and desktops.
I was unable to install on Dell PowerEdge SC1435 and noticed it is not on the HCL for Dell servers. This unit has dual core AMD Opteron processors. Is the HCL kept up to date, I noticed items 58 and 59 had the same description (SC1430). Should I abondon further attempts and go to the SC2950 which is on the HCL?
Also on the desktop side, both my choices, Dell OptiPlex 745 dual core, and Dell Precision 690 dual core are not on the HCL. A possible alternative on the HCL is the Precision 670.
    Any info would be apprecitate.

I am also having the same issue on a Dell Poweredge SC1435. I get a "ERROR: The disc you inserted is not a Solaris OS/DVD" right after I select the machine to automatically reboot after it finishes installing. It then kicks me out to a Unix shell prompt and I notice that the CD is no longer mounted when I do a "df -k". I've done some research on the web and none of the proposed solutions worked. I'm assuming this has something to do with hardware conflicts with the machine and the fact that the machine is not on the Hardware Compat List yet.
Plus, I know my cd media is good, since I was able to install Solaris 10 x86 perfectly fine on my Dell Poweredge SC420. I'm using the latest Solaris 10 11/06 CD media.

  • Cisco Desktop Agent\Supervisor & Windows 7 Compatibility

We are on Customer Response Solutions V 5.0(2).  In order to install the Desktop Agent on Windows 7 we need to install DA v 7.5(8).  We have been told by our VAR that we need to upgrade not only our CRA but also our CallManager to verison 8.  This is going to be a big expense especially since we just upgraded four Cisco Servers less than two years ago.
Does anyone have any experience with the Desktop Agent on Windows 7?  If so what version works?
    Thanks

    Hi Sandy,
Here is the page which has the compatibilities listed for Windows 7.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6789/ps7046/ps7282/product_bulletin_c25-563280_ps427_Products_Bulletin.html
Here is the snippet that concerns UCCX.  Which is what I think you are running, but you haven't actually stated that.
    Version 7.0(2), Q4CY10
    Version 8.0(1), FCS Q1CY10
If you upgraded to UCCX 8, you could still keep your CallManager at 7, provided it's on a supported version.
To know that, you need to look at the compatibility guide for UCCX:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_compatibility/matrix/crscomtx.pdf
    I hope this helps.
