Compatibility with Car Kit (CD-IB100 II Adapter- Pioneer)

Hi, ive recently purchased a new ipod nano but ive been disappointed to find that it is not compatible with my car kit adapter, however the car kit is compatible with previous versions of the ipod.
Can anyone advise if there is a possiblity of a compatibility connector that can be purchased to resolve these issues?
Regards
http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/products/25/38/301/CD-IB100%20II/specs.html

I use the same adapter, had the same issue with my iPhone.
The adapter is using the old way of charging which is the Firewire pins but all iPods from about 2007 all charge with the USB pins only.
I did a search on the web and found a little converter you plug between the iPod and the cable which enables charging. There are different versions if you search, some also remove the not compatible message from the screen.

One minor complaint still with Bluetooth (if you are listening Palm):  The Nissan OEM kit supports up to 4 phones.  I paired my wife and kid's phones to the car, including my Pre.  When any other family member is in the car with me with their phone (non-Pre), my Pre will not connect to the car.  Their phones connect just fine even though my phone has been paired to the car to be the "primary" phone.  Only when I am by myself in the car will the Pre Bluetooth connect/disconnect work flawlessly.   Thanks again for getting us this far!

  • Next G models compatible with car kits and antenna...

    Help!
I currently have a CK-7W car kit with a soon to be obsolete 6235 CDMA handset. I am frustrated by the lack of quality handsets available on Telstra's new Next G service. The current 6120 Nokia only has bluetooth connectivity and no patch lead connectivity to external aerial. Has anyone heard if Nokia will be releasing a Next G model that will have a cradle compatible with the CK-7W car kit or any other hard wired car kit/antennae coupler or patch lead compatibility?

  • Using locked E72 with car kit

I have an annoying problem with my E72. When my phone automatically locks after 5 min (push from our IT department) I can not use it to make out going calls when using my car kit. I used to be able to do this with my BB bold 9000 but I have been able to figure this out with the E72. I am able to receive calls.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Rodnag

    Hi danny.
    Yeah, they're already off.
Basically, every alert is turned off except for incoming calls.
I know i must sound fussy, but when you're listening to music, you don't really want gaps of silence in it, do you?

  • Using Ipod Nano 3rd generation with car kit

Just a simple question... I recently got an 8GB Ipod Nano... want to play it in my car with the Belkin car kit. Even with the volume turned up at max on my ipod I still have to turn up my cd player volume in the car high - is this normal? Also, is FM the best frequency? Confused... just want good quality listening. Thanks

Others have asked this, and the answer I've always seen is no.

  • 6280 not working on holder CR-43 with car kit CK-7...

I had a car kit/holder combination installed Sept 2006, been working fine.
Last couple of days when I insert the 6280 into the holder the "PHONE" text displays on the stereo like normal but the "HANDSFREE" settings on the phone don't kick in.
The CHARGE function continues to work but the "PHONE" word/display never dissapears and the radio/stereo function never returns.
The phone does not operate correctly, it remains on what ever profile is active and the phone only works on its internal speaker, losing connection with the car speakers.
Anyone know if this is the handset? car kit? holder? all of the above?
    Don't know where to start!
    Tim

Just for the record, I managed to isolate the problem today to a fault with the CR 43 holder.
I plugged the car kit lead directly into the phone handset and found that the car kit functions returned to normal, charging and sound through car speakers and interpution of stereo functions when making and receiving calls.
    new holder then!

  • Using N78 with car kit CK-7W

Just recently bought the lovely N78 and paired it up with my car kit (CK-7W).
I have the keypad tones switched off when it's connected and i've also set my message alert tone to 'off' aswell.
The reason for this is that i don't like the interruption on my stereo.
Don't mind it when i get a call; i have to turn it off to take the call anyway.
Annoyingly, though, when a message comes through, it mutes the radio for a few seconds.
This never happened with my 6300 - there was no interruption. I was just visually notified on the screen.
Any ideas what could be the matter?
The installation of the carkit is fine, i know that much.

  • TomTom GPS app with car kit

I just found out that the TomTom car kit has GPS hardware in the mounting bracket and that it will enable original iPhone users to have GPS functions using their original iPhone.
The ad copy says it will "enhance the gps capabilities of the G3 iPhone." Does that mean that the original iPhone won't work as well with the TomTom, or that the gps in the car kit takes over and is better than the one built into the iPhone?
Anyone using the TomTom app and kit with an original iPhone? Does it work well?
I've got a TomTom One GPS, but if I can get GPS out of the iPhone, it's one less gadget to lug around.

The TomTom Car Kit for the iPhone is compatible with:
    iPhone
    iPhone 3G
    iPhone 3GS
Requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later
    http://www.tomtom.com/products/section.php?ID=939&Section=766&Lid=1&Category=2
I use mine with a 3GS. Where I used to get periodic GPS dropouts, the car kit has eliminated them.
TomTom also also sells a separate car kit sized for the iPod Touch (which has no built-in GPS).
It should work fine with your original iPhone. Here is a YouTune video of an original iPhone using a Car Kit (the audio is in German). http://www.9to5mac.com/tomtom-iPod-touch-original-iPhone

I have just fitted an Alpine car kit to play my nano in the car, but although the track info is coming through on the head set, i get no sound!
We've tried another nano and it works fine.

Try turning the volume up on your iPod.
You may also want to reset the iPod while it is connected to the system...

  • When will N95 8G work with Car Kit CK 20W?

My car has a CK 20W BLUETOOTH KIT but if I connect my N95 8G the volume on a call in inaudible and music will not work at all. Am told that they are not compatable but will be made so by Nokia soon - is this correct? Should I wait or rip out brand new CK 20W and get something compatable that plays music e.g. a Parrot sysytem

Nokia has just launched the CK-300 which is compatible

...and has a downloadable application for the N95 and other S60 handsets giving a 'car menu' on the screen....

  • C7 - Bluetooth connection with car kit - problem

    Hi all,
Can anyone help me about my problem. I bought new phone Nokia C7 with Anna software and I have a problem with pairing with my car (Bluetooth device Parrot CK3000 Evo). I think that the problem is with phone, because when I paired devices all things work well, but when I turn off the car (Parrot is switched off) and go away, other phones that I previously used disabled connection and can be used normally. But with this phone I see that for the phone connection still present (?!?) The car symbol on display still shown, and when I try to use the phone, I can make call, other people say that they receive calling , but I can't hear them, and they can't hear me. When I manually disconnect Bluetooth device, phone work normally, but when I am in the car again, two devices doesn't initiate pairing, and again I have to do this manually. It' a huge problem for me.
Is there anyone who have the same problem, or anyone who know how to solve this. I  couldn't find option to solve this from menus.
    Any ideas?
Unfortunately my warranty doesn't allow me to change software version from 022.014 to another... but if this will help...

    Thank you for your reply,
Do you think, that the solution is new update for Parrot device?
As I understand, you still have the problem and your hope is this update eventually.
Do you read somewhere something about this?
I have registration in Parrot forum, but I haven't read inside anything about  the problem . It looks, that they never heard about it...

  • Iphone work with car kits?

I have a 2005 Range Rover which sucessfully pairs with the 3G. It shows as one of the audio sources on the phone. It sucessfully rings thru the car speaker, but once it answers the source stays on bluetooth option, but can only be heard thru the phone. When I have a second incoming call come in and answer with my phone, it then emits thru the car speakers. Is anybody else having this problem?

I have a similar issue. Have a 07 Range Rover Sport. Phone dials out ok from the car. It also pairs fine automatically. But 70-80% of the time when I receive a call and answer thru the steering button, the call connects but I can not hear the caller nor the caller me. No contacts sync up. Call history does not sync up either. Land Rover web site claims iphone 3g is fully compatible. Have an appt to update the bluetooth software in the car.

  • Car kit adapter

I have just replaced mt 6230 with a 6700 classic. My car has a car kit for the 6230 and I was wondering if I can somehow adapt that kit for the 6700. I would rather not rip it all out and start again with a new kit.
I do not know what model kit I have but the cradle says CR-56 and is connected by a plug. Ideally I would like to buy a new cradle that will work with the 6700 and plug that in instead. Is that possible?
    Thanks for any help.

Modern Nokia phones with Mini-USB or Micro-USB connectivity instead of the old 'pop-port' do not have cable connectivity with car kits, only Bluetooth connectivity, so you will not be able to connect the same way you did with the 6230.
You do not say which car kit you have (the cradle is specific to the phone, not the car kit, so its part number doesn't help), but if it is Bluetooth-enabled it may work with the 6700, otherwise you might not have a choice but to replace the kit.

  • E66 with Audi SAP Bluetooth Car Kit

    Hi
I've been using my E66 with my Audi A6 SAP car kit for two weeks now. Unlike my E51 which works fine the E66 connects ok then after about 1 or 2 minutes disconnects. After another 30 seconds or so it reconnects to the car kit. It seems that if I make or receive a call during the first minute then the E66 will remain connected. If I don't it will enter the disconnect / connect cycle.
Is anybody else having the same problem?
    Cheers
    James

The generic problem you have with Car Kits made for Car Manufacturers and phones is that both companies are very inclined not to talk to one another, and when you try and find out why its failing each will blame each other.
The problem may quite probably be resolved by a software update, either in the phone or the car.
You can check the Nokia site to see if an update is available for your phone.
The Audi update will have to be done by your local Audi Centre, which can be tricky to do to say the least, because they tend to stall, and give a self-righteous attitude towards the customer trying to tell them how it is.
I'd check with a few local Audi Centres.
The list of compatible handsets, is always out of date, and you get phones like the 6230 etc they dont really pay much attention to it.
I found that my S3 kit which is not SAP, would disconnect when my phone left the range of my WLAN, sometimes if I restarted the phone before I got it, it wouldn't disconnect at all.
I don't get it at all with my E71.
    Shunts...
I will mostly be communicating with a Nokia E72 Zodium Black
Nokia E72-1 with Vr 051.018.207.04 Software
If this post helped... Add some kudos!!
