Compatibility with windows movie maker

I purchased a song but it is not in the correct format for windows movie maker. What can I do?

Where'd you purchase the song from? iTunes Music Store?
If so, then you're out of luch unless you choose to break the law. It would be illegal to remove the DRM from an iTunes Music Store purchased track, which would be necessary to put the track ina new format compatible with Microsoft products.

  • Burning Videos from iPhone/iTunes with Windows Movie Maker?????

How can I burn videos that I take on my 3GS iPhone and than sync to my PC/iTunes with Windows Movie Maker? When I attempt to load or drag the video file into movie maker it give me an error message due to the file type is not supported. Any suggestions or points in the right direction would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

This is because iTunes Store purchases and in a protected file format, so you won't be able to directly convert them from the protected file into something that Windows movie maker could read.
As the previous poster said, you can try burning the files to a CD, then importing the CD again. I think that ought to work.

  • Movie Created with Windows Movie Maker

I created a movie of our recent vacation with Windows Movie Maker and I am now trying to get it on my iPod. Can someone tell me the best way to accomplish this.
    Thanks,

I downloaded Handbrake, but I am having difficulty making it work.
I also downloaded Videora, and I was actually able to get my movie into iTunes, but when I converted the movie in iTunes to transfer to my iPod, it lost sound.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

  • IPod Nano Video with Windows Movie Maker

I found this page by Apple that explains how to use video from the 5G iPod Nano, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3837
But, I cannot find Windows Movie Maker V2.5, and V2.1 with Windows XP will not import the video from the iPod Nano. Anybody have any ideas on how to solve this? (Besides buying a Mac...)
Also, Windows Media Player 11 will not play the video created with the 5G iPod Nano either.

You can use the AVS Video Editing software to import MPEG-4 Movie files in the same way you'd import .avi files into Windows Movie Maker. Also, the AVS Video Editor will allow you to import iTunes .mp4 audio files and incorporate them into your soundtrack. If you still want to use Windows Movie Maker for your video editing you can also use video conversion software from the same company, i.e. AVS Video Converter 6, to convert from MPEG-4 into .avi or .wmv format. I've found converting to .wmv to be considerably slower than converting to .avi though. Here's a link to the AVS video software offerings below. BTW, the AVS Video Editor can be used for free, while there's a charge for the Converter.
    * As always, exercise caution when using Shareware. So far my own experience has been good.

  • How do I make itunes purchased music compatible with Windows Movie Maker?

Windows Movie Maker will not accept the itunes format and I cannot find a way to convert the files. I need to convert the format to any of the following accepted formats: .aif, .aifc, .aiff .asf, .au, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .snd, .wav, and .wma
    Please Help!

If your iTunes Music Store purchases are 128kpbs protected (with digital rights management) AAC files, they cannot be directly converted to other formats. If the files are 256kbps unprotected iTunes Plus AAC files, you can convert them as desired for your personal use.

  • Using songs with Windows Movie Maker

How do you use purchased songs in Windows Movie Maker? Please help.

One caveat to the above posts: if any tracks you've purchased, or intend to purchase, are/were iTunes Plus, those do not have copy protection and so can be converted to MP3 which, I presume, Movie Maker can handle.
Note that tracks purchased from the iTunes Store are for your own personal use. You cannot create a movie with them and then give that movie to others, post it on a web site, etc. Similar restrictions are in place on all download music stores.

  • HOW TO CAPTURE DIGITAL VIDEO CLIPS, OPTIONALY WITH WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER

I want to capture video clips and save them on disk, when a certain event occurs. If possible I prefer to do it with labview only. Optionaly to execute a record command on windows movie maker, save with arbitrary file name, and go back to standby mode for the next clip.

Do you have a camera along with the IMAQ hardware? Then, the easiest way is probably using the IMAQ VIs to acquire frames and create avi files out of them. There is some example code on how to grab images using the imaq hardware.
    http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/niepd_web_display.display_epd4?p_guid=B45EACE3E1DB56A4E034080020E74861&p_node=DZ52490&p_source=external
Generating the avi files is fairly straightforward once you know how to acquire images. Lookup the help on the "IMAQ AVI" VIs.
If you have a camera hooked up through USB, you can try the documentation on the following link. I have never used labview with usb cameras though.

  • How do I burn a DVD R disc with Windows Movie Maker?  It indicates disc error on my DVD player.  Someone thought it had something to do with Itunes?  I reloaded Itunes 1 month ago and had no problem creating this disc then.  Help

I have made several DVD+R discs in the past using Windows Live Movie Maker sucessfully.  I made one about one month ago for my son's b-day.  I am using the same discs as I had then.  When I tried to burn the disc, it indicates that it is burning, however, when I insert it into the DVD player at home on our TV (like I"ve always done), it indicates disc error.  Someone mentioned that the burner goes out every now and then when Itunes is uploaded?  When I burn the disc, I can pull it up on my home and work computers, so I know that it is there.

Yes, you can distribute a burned disk of the project to those who can create duplicate disks.  Or create a disk image of the iDVD project using the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option.
Then you can distribute the disk image to those who will burn the disks.  For PCs you'll have to convert the .dmg file to a .iso file so they can burn it.  This website describer how: Mac Help - Convert and Burn Mac .dmg or .img to .iso Windows PC-Compatible Disk Image
Suggest to them to burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
It would be prudent to rest your optical drive for about 30 minutes after burning 3 disks in a row. That will give the laser time to cool down before you start another batch.

  • IMovie to Windows movie maker

is there anyway i can convert back and forth between my mac with iMovie and a school pc with windows movie maker so i can do work both places? Also i will need to be able to play the movie on a pc w/o quicktime for the final project. Any suggestions?

    Hi
Back and forth - Mac and PC. No !
You can in iMovie 1 to HD 6 - Copy back to Camera and a new tape and use this in any PC video editor.
But there are NO - general video editing document that allowes this kind of work.
Not even inside the Mac Platform.
    iMovie 1 to HD 6 <-I-> iMovie'08 or 09 <-I-> FinalCut Express <-I-> FinalCut Pro.
Rarely a project can progress from iMovie one version up to HD 6
    and 08 --> 09
    and FCE --> FCP
BUT usually it halts with an error message
and backway compatibility - Nearly never.

  • How to edit JVC/Panasonic/Canon .mod video in Windows Movie Maker then upload to YouTube for sharing

    Quick View:
Part 1: How to import .mod video to Windows Movie Maker
Part 2: How to edit the video with Windows Movie Maker
Part 3: How to upload your video to YouTube
    Know More:
    1. Which Camcorders record video in .MOD type?
    2. What file types are supported by Windows Movie Maker?
    3. What file types are supported by YouTube?
Part 1: How to import .mod video to Windows Movie Maker
    Step 1: Load files
First copy the MOD file from your video camera to your hard drive, then download, install and run MOD Converter, click the "Add Files" button to browse your computer hard disc and load the MOD/TOD video files you want to convert to the program.
    Step 2: Output Setting
In the bottom of the main interface, select an output format supported by Windows Movie Maker for each video file and specify a directory on your computer to save the output files.
    Step 3: Start convert
Click "Start" button on right bottom of the main interface, you are allowed to start conversion.
Step 4: Import converted video to Windows Movie Maker
Click on "File". Then click on "Import". A window will appear. In the window, navigate to the video clip you converted just now. Then double click on the file. You'll see the icon for the file in your Windows Movie Maker "Collections".
Part 2: How to edit the video with Windows Movie Maker
Step 1: Add transitions and special effects
In the Movie Tasks pane, under Edit Movie, click View video transitions.
Preview transitions by double-clicking them and watching the Preview Monitor. Once you've found a transition you like, drag it from the Video Transitions pane, under Edit Movie pane to the box between two of your clips. This inserts the transition between the two clips.
Step 2: Add titles and credits
If you want to add a title before, after, or on top of a clip, click the clip on the storyboard or timeline.
In the Movie Tasks pane, under Edit Movie, click Make titles or credits.
    Step 3: Add Music
In the Movie Tasks pane in Movie Maker, under Capture Video, click Import audio or music.
In the Import File dialog box, click the name of the song you want to use in the background. Then click Import. This adds your song to your collection but does not add it to your video. Drag the song from the collection to the video clip where you want the music to start playing.
    Step 4: Add narration
If you have a desktop computer, connect a microphone. Microphones are available from most electronics stores. If you have a portable computer, you can use the built-in microphone. However, you will get a better-quality recording if you connect an external microphone. In Movie Maker, click the Tools menu, and then click Narrate Timeline. On the timeline, click the clip you want to narrate. You can narrate clips one at a time, or you can narrate the entire movie all at once. If you narrate individual clips, you can rearrange them later and keep your narration synchronized. If the narration is too loud or too soft in comparison to the movie, right-click the narration on your timeline, and then click Volume.
Step 5: To save your movie to your computer
In the Movie Tasks pane, under Finish Movie, click Save to my computer.
The Save Movie Wizard appears. On the Save Movie File page, type a name for your movie. You can also choose a folder to save it in by clicking the Browse button, but My Videos (the default) is usually the best place to save your movie. Then click Next. On the Movie Setting page, click Next to accept the default setting of Best quality for playback on my computer.
Movie Maker saves your movie, which might take several minutes. On the Completing the Save Movie Wizard page, click Finish. If Play movie when I click Finish was selected (it is selected by default), the movie will automatically play in Windows Media Player. Now you can watch your videos anytime by opening your My Videos folder and double-clicking your movie.
Part 3: How to upload my video to YouTube
A video file should meet the following requirements so that it can be uploaded to YouTube site.
    1. In an acceptable format: WMV, MPEG4, MOV, AVI and MPEG.
    2. Video length is shorter 10 minutes.
    3. File size is smaller than 1GB.
Step 1: Sign up a YouTube account or Gmail account, then click the Upload button on any YouTube web page. See the figure below:
Step 2: Type in the information of your video file, including Title, Description, Category and tags. To increase the chances that your video can be easily found, you should put as much information as possible.
Step 3: Set this video to be public or private.
Step 4: Click the "Upload a video" button. When you see the next window, click the "Browse" button to select the video file you want to upload. Then click the "Upload Video" button to upload it. After the upload is finished, you will see the completion page. See the figure below:
Step 5: Click "My Videos" and you will see the video.
    Know More:
    1. Which Camcorders record video in .MOD type?
MOD is the video file type used on many digital camcorders, such as the JVC Everio, the Canon FS100 and the Panasonic D-Snap SD-card camcorders. Accompanying the MOD video file, there exists MOI file that stands for the index file for MOD.

  • Windows Movie Maker won't play on DVD player

    I have the OS7 now
The instruction say that a burned MASTER disc will play on DVD players and most computers???
I have used Mp4 and WMV formats with Windows Movie Maker, but none will play on DVD players but play well on computers???
I had formally use the Windows DVD Maker and the final file was UBF which seemed to work on all players and computers. My DVD Maker will not allow completion of Movie, it  notes, " I need the proper codes to make it work"??
I have looked on the Microsoft site for these support codes but cannot find them??? Windows Movie worked well on my Vista OS. What has MS done to screw up this software???
    WGC_BAC

You need to read the owner's manual for your DVD player to find out exactly what video formats it will play.  Then you must ensure you record your video to DVD in a format that is recognized by your DVD player.  The Windows 7 Windows Movie Maker
may have a different default video format output that what you were using in Vista.  You have the option to specify the format of the video you record to DVD.

  • Windows Movie Maker 2 for Windows XP SP3 32 Bit

    Hey Guys,
I'm having a small issue with Windows Movie Maker . I work for a school district and in the lab we have about 25 machines and I'd say over half of them are having this issue. The issue is that when you open up WMM - click on Import Pictures
and then go to the sample pictures directory and import any of the pictures into collections and then drag that into the Video time line. It doesn't show up in the video preview it's just a black window and when you click narration it gives me a "Class Not
Registered" error. Now, I've been doing some digging and a lot of people on different forums suggested to do a rundllsvr32 for a couple of dlls that fixed the class not registered issue for some people, but not for me. I even tried reinstalling WMM by going
into systemroot\inf and hitting install on moviemk and that didn't work either. Does anyone know what this problem could relate to ? Whether it's a matter of video drivers ( I have latest one ) or video codecs ? I did also try deleting all the video codecs
under Sound and Audio Devices too. So, if anyone knows anything about this that would be Highly Appreciated.
    Thanks again !!
