Compatible DC Adaptor for Creative TravelSound 400

Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum, so this will be my first post here.
I'm looking for a DC Adapter for my TravelSound 400. I've seen the price of the one on the Creative Online Store, and I find it would not be worthwhile to pay $30 shipping on something that would cost me $40. Therefore, I'm looking for one of the following options:
() A place in Vancouver, BC where I can purchase the TravelSound adapter.
(2) A place in Vancouver where I can purchase a DC adapter that is compatible.
Does anybody know of any place like this?
Thanks!
Cheers,
Eric

Adam Clarke,
The Travelsound 400 uses a standard stereo minijack connector so it's definitely compatible with the Zen Touch player.

  • Compatible AC Adaptors for G3 PowerBook 1999

    Based in U.K.
    Hi,
I've recently purchased a vintage G3 Lombard PowerBook and had to purchase an AC adaptor separately.
The system would not boot up at all and I went through all the troubleshooting with reseting and powering with the main battery removed but had to stop at powering without the keyboard attached.
I contacted the seller and they happily took the system back but (un)fortunately they managed to boot up fine straight away and emailed me photos of the boot up.
The thing I'm going for now is the fact that I've been sold an AC adaptor that's not compatible. I'm using an M4328 and the seller was using an older M4896 which did work. Does anyone have a good list of compatible AC Adaptors for G3 PowerBooks, especially the 1999 pre-firewire? Teh best list I could find (and my adaptor wasn;t on there) is at this site <http://www.laptopbits.co.uk/databasefiles/AppleAdaptors.htm>.
At a very long shot, is there anyone in Edinburgh in the UK who has a working Lomabard and wouldn;t mind meeting up for an hour or so to troubleshoot.
    Thanks,
    G3 PowerBook Lombard   Mac OS X (10.3.3)

    Hi baobhanjex,
I've had problems with power adapters for my Pismo 'Book. I was given an M4402 pack, which would allow my PowerBook to boot, but wouldn't charge the battery. It was a bizarre problem, which was caused by the pack itself being faulty. It was only outputting 26 Watts and the 'Book needs 45W minimum. The eBay seller who supplied the machine replaced the adaptor and everything worked. Recently, I found an old Apple adaptor replacement program for the M4402 adaptor, which is unsafe and carries a risk of overheating. I applied, and was sent a new M7332 'yo-yo' adaptor, which is both useful and stylish.
What I'm saying is that most Apple adaptors are interchangeable. You can boot a Pismo with an old Duo adaptor as the voltage, amperage and plug are the same (usually). The best adaptors for the Lombard G3's are the M5159 or M7332, but beware - the M7332 exists in two forms, one for the pre-2001 machines and another for the G4 chipped 'Books. The key difference is the connector - the pre-2001 machines have a large plug, about the size of a phono plug, while the TiBoooks and later have a considerably smaller plug to fit the slimmer profile of the machine.
If you have no luck with the sellers, I'd recommend the following site:
    http://www.pbfanatic.co.uk
The owner is Uk-based, specialises in the G3 'Books, and supplied the machine I'm typing on. They sell plenty of adaptors, new and old, for most PowerBooks. Mention my name if you require their services.
    Hope this helps,
    Rob Johnson

  • I need a wireless usb adaptor for a Power Mac G4... any suggestions? (needs to be compatible)

I need a wireless usb adaptor for a Power Mac G4... any suggestions? (needs to be compatible)

With Mac OS X 10.3 or higher, a number of USB Wi-Fi adapters would be possible to use. However, for an earlier operating system, a wireless Ethernet bridge (such as the examples below) can be a better (and sometimes the only) option. A wireless Ethernet bridge does not normally require special drivers, and can thus be used with almost any Ethernet-equipped computer.

  • Creative Mediasource for Creative Zen (2-38

    Hey everyone,
I am well aware that the current version of Creative Mediasource is not available for the Creative Zen. Now I figured that eventually they would make a version compatible with the Zen. I'm currently up to my 3rd Generation of Creative Mp3 players (from Zen Touch to Zen Vision: M to Zen 32 gb ), and I constantly used Creative Mediasource to edit the track information, usually the genres which awere so totally confused (Hip Hop should never be associated with Country :S). However, now that the Zen operates through Windows Media Explorer, instead of being able to select whole cds and right clicking them to 'edit genre', I now have to individually select each song and rewrite the details.. this could be a problem in the near future; I just got my mp3 player last tuesday, and though right now i'll manage, my media database is a little off in terms of assortment, and editing 600 tracks manually seems to be a rather tedious task >.< So, my question is(are):
When (if they ever decide to do so) will a Creative mediasource version for the Creative Zen be released?
Is there a faster method that I'm unaware of to edit the tracks?
I did take the time to look through the forums before I wrote this, taking the precautions by searching for Creative Mediasource, Creative Mediasource Zen flash, etc. Thanks in advance!

Well, I usually avoid Windows Media Player because the computer I use is also used by the rest of the family, and every once in a while it chooses to autosync music onto my Zen.. but if you say it's useful to edit multiple ID3 Tags (so that's the official name for them, oh..), i'll give it another try. And I'll try MediaMonkey too, because it sounds like the program was made specifically to make ID3 tag updating easier.
    Thanks for all your help!

  • I have recently upgraded my iBookG4 from Tiger to Leopard 10.5.8 and find my Bluetooth USB adaptor no longer connects. The Bluetooth pane says inactive. Does Leopard require  USB 2.0. I've had the adaptor for some time so may be USB 1.0

I have recently upgraded my iBookG4 from Tiger to Leopard 10.5.8 and find my Bluetooth USB adaptor no longer connects. The Bluetooth pane says inactive. Does Leopard require  USB 2.0. I've had the adaptor for some time so may be USB 1.0

Bluetooth icon on menu bar shows bluetooth off. When opening bluetooth preferences it shows the devices I've connected previously,( my mobile phone), and other devices I've attempted to connect but not very successfully: my iPhone and MiniMac.  The bluetooth dongle in the USB port shows a continual blue light but does not react and the iBook does not recognise that it is there. There is absolutely no reaction when I try to pair my mobile phone, which I've done successfully before upgrading to Leopard, either by the iBook or the mobile phone.
I assumed that Tiger was not bluetooth compatible with the iPhone or MacMini running SnowLeopard and hoped by upgrading to Leopard I could achieve some file transfers between the three devices (iBook, iPhone and MacMini)

  • Using the firewire 800 port for my firewire 400 devices

I will be purchasing, at long last, a new mac mini to replace my faithful and well behaved G4 mac mini. I have a 20" cinema display and an external firewire 400 backup drive with the same form factor that sits below the mini. I would like to continue to use these peripherals as well as my video camera DV out. Ideally, it would be cool to have a FW800 hub that had both 800 and 400 places to plug my peripherals, but I don't see that available. Should I get a hub and adaptors for the fw400 components I want to add, or use the hard drive with an adaptor to the mini, then use the FWports on the drive for the monitor, and whatever else I want, thereby using the drive as a hub...
Any advice to this ignorant question would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Paul

Since Firewire 400 devices still operate at Firewire 400 speeds regardless of whether or not they are connected by adapter to Firewire 800 ports, the best thing to do is just get a Firewire 800 to 400 adapter, and attach it to a Firewire 400 hub known to be able to do all the functions you desire.
Note, migrating to Intel Macs from PowerPC Macs is not as easy as the Migration Assistant, as this user tip explains:

  • Slim AC Power Adaptor for W700?

Is there such a thing as a slim AC Power Adaptor for the W700?  I know the W500 has one, but is there an equivalent out there on the market for the W700?
    Thanks.

The 230W adaptor for W701 is quite slim and it's perhaps compatible with W700.

  • Can I replace the cable of the TravelSound 400 by a standard audio cable if I damage it?

I am very interested by the TravelSound 400. Before buying it, I would like to ensure me that its cable is well separated from the speakers, that if I damage it I can replace it by a standard audio cable and that I will not have to purchase a new speaker system. Thank you in advance for your answer.

Thank you for your answer KokChoy-CL,
Will it be possible to replace the original cable if it's damaged at a reasonable price (compared with the standard cable price) or shall I be obliged to buy another speaker system?
Thank you in advance for your answer to this question.

  • Driver for Creative graphics blaster 3D CLGD5464 pci vga card

Can anyone tell me from where to find the driver for Creative graphics blaster 3D CLGD 5464 pci vga card. The driver in Solaris8 is for CLGD 5465 which is not compatible with my card. The solaris detects my card as CLGD 5465 but it doesent work. Can anyone tell me what should I do about it?
    thanks, Kashif ([email protected])

If it is not supported by the Xserver under Solaris you may find you can get it to work by installing XFree86 (www.xfree86.org), there are compiled binaries for Solaris Intel that will make the transition easier (personally I found the 3.3.5 version works well). First check at www.xfree86.org if your videa-card IS supported under XFree though. There are some tweaks you need to add to get it all to work in the Solaris x86 FAQ. Since you probably have to do all of this in non-gui its not easy but can be done.

  • I looking a compatible tv tuner for a iMac 800mhz, can one any help?

I looking a compatible tv tuner for a iMac 800mhz, can anyone help?

Elgato's EyeTV 400, no longer produced, worked with iMac 800 Mhz.    Just a note, your machine is a bare minimum for video conversion to compressed formats.  You may get choppy video.  I would seriously consider upgrading to at least an iMac G5 1.8 Ghz, if not an Intel Core2Duo iMac.

  • Problem with Travelsound 400

Hello! Soem days ago I experienced something odd with my Travelsound 400 speakers. It seems like their "maximum volume" is decreasing. If I try to go above this level, I get a lot of noise, and the volume resets to a much lower level (got the Travelsound connected to my Zen Vision:M). Does this mean that I've damaged the speakers? They're only one month old, but I'm quite worried Regards from Anders

I'm just beginning my troll through the forums looking for answers to unpredictable firewire behavior. In our situation we'll have a drive mounted over FW800, then plug in a sony hdv deck (which has been fine for a few years) and all of a sudden the firewire port goes down. We get device removal errors, reboot, plug into different ports, all that stuff. Nothing
We had this problem on a MacBook Pro, Powerbook G4, and the almighty Mac Pro (Ever gone into an Apple Store with problems and all they can recommend is buying the latest and greatest?). The only common factor in all of this is Leopard. So that's where I'm starting.
Firewire has always been picky about how and when you plug things in, but it doesn't make sense that this problem exists on completely different machines and we have the same procedure that worked for several years.

  • Why has Creative Cloud taken over licencing for Creative Suite 6?

My company purchased a licence for Creative Suite 6 Standard Design back in 2012. More recently we also bought a Creative Cloud subscription for another purpose. Now whenever we try to open Acrobat Pro X, or any of the CS6 applications they also tell us we can't use them because Creative Cloud is in use elsewhere. Why are these two things even connected? How can we decouple these licences?

I have just learn't that certain editions of Creative Cloud software (eg Adobe Illustrator) is different to the retail version. It has more functionality and has a higher version number.
    Correct.
First question - are the files cross compatible so I can still open files of either version in either of the environments?
    Yes 100% compatible.
Second question - Why are full price paying customers not getting the extra features?
    Marketing.
Adobe wants everyone to join the Creative Cloud so they're progressively adding features to the Cloud versions to make the Cloud offerings more and more compelling until perpetual licensed customers submit.
I heard on Adobe TV on a web seminar that part of the reason is because its easier to apply updates to the versions on the creative cloud... which i thought was just utter rubbish.
Not easier, just quicker. In short, it's marketing again.
Adobe is simply trying to say that instead of inventing new features then collecting them and rolling them into a dot release or a .5 release, they can be progressively released via a Cloud update immediately i.e Cloud customers can get them earlier.
Convinced to join the Cloud yet?

  • TravelSound 400 Q's

I have 2 questions regarding the TravelSound 400 speaker system, any help would be appreciated. Soon I wish to buy the new E-TEN M600+ PDA System.
I want to know whether or not the TravelSound 400 will work with the M600+ or not, I assume it does, but just want to verify. Also, is there an online shop in Australia that sells the TravelSound 400, with the power cable accessory? Thank you,

    Hi,
Where exactly queues are getting stuck? In SMQ2 or SM58.
If it is SMQ2, try to activate the queue by going to SMQ2 and click on the queue and activate.
Btw. what is the error you are getting in SMQ2.. If it is a SYSFAIL, find the out the reason for the same.
Also if you are not able to activate the queue, try out deactivating that specific queue in SMQR and then go to SMQ2 and activate it. Then remember to Register that queue again in SMQR.
Also you can schedule the report as mentioned in the blog earlier post)
If it is tRFC queue error in SM58 ,then find out the problem...also try to execute the LUWs one-by-one..
For all these Queue problems make sure that, your message size is ok as expected, no previous queue has got errored out, reciever is ready etc,

  • To buy power Adaptor for DTT3500

    Hi,
I would like to buy a replacement power adaptor for DTT3500. I had checked with Creative SGP, but they had not gotten back to me if they have the stock. Their reason is that they needed to check for EOF products and replacement stocks if avaliable. But that was about 3 weeks ago, still no update.
I hope there is someone out there in SGP who have a power adaptor to sell ...
    Thanks...
