Compatible issues in IE8

Hi,
I just created this fairly simple site using muse and photoshop.
Once I almost finished I decided to export it to HTML so I could put it online and test it, just to be sure.
Everything seemed to be working very well in firefox and chrome.
Then a day later I figured I should check it in IE8 (XP).
At first it doesn't extend the header and footer to the browser width and text doesn't render correctly.
Everything else seems just fine, but there is a message in the browser:
To help protect your security, Internet Explorer restricted this webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls that could access your computer. Click here for options...
Of course I don't want to produce a website that display an error in the first place, but that could just be my computer (since I hardly ever use IE).
Next I choose to allow the blocked content and run the scripts and ActiveX controls.
It does fix the header and footer issue but it creates a new one. The transparancy on the (photoshop) buttons is bugged.
Up and over state work great, but the active state turns the alpha black. Strange thing is that the active and over state are the same layer/asset.
Is there a way to fix this instead of working around it and loosing the transparancy in photoshop? At the moment it's easy enough because of the plain white background, but I wanted to explore some background options for this project and who knows for future ones.

Hi,
As far as the header and footer is concerned, their width is governed by certain JS, so if the scripts are disabled on a browser then the 100% width may have issue in rendering properly.
As far as transparency is concerned, that is something which is a known issue with IE8 and how it handles the transparencies and the pngs images. Though Muse is designed to take care of that till some extent but there are cases where they may not render properly.
As a workaround I would suggest that instead of fading to transparent, fade to the color of the background, to give the same effect.

Hello: this is my first post,hope I am doing it properly.
I am using W7pro OS and ATT DSL 3.0Mbps dl
I noticed this week that I was unable to save attachments from my ATT Yahoo mail I could view them but no choice as to ware to save them--only choice (save to my comp.)But no ware to be found.
I reinstalled v 36.0.4-preventing auto upgrade-But still had same problem.
At this point contacted ATT support supervisor-we spent about 4hr working on problem--He was using your v 31.5.0--and had no problem accessing and saving attachments using remolt access on my comp.
We also found using my comp.FF v 36.0.4 & v 37.0.2 browser,that we could without any problems access an save attachments--AOL mail-- & mail2web.--& IE--Even when forwarding inaccessible mail to above sites.
He informed me that (ATT mail Yahoo)only uses resources to make them compatible with--Google IE & Chrome &Apple? (basically he was saying,that they would NOT commit resources to FF--any version)BUT he was not allowed to commit.
PS: The last time I know it worked ok was 3-18-15 I have 3 comp.2 wxp pro 1 w7 pro the same problem on all 3--so feel confident not OS related-but compatible problems with FF & yahoo mail.
The ATT support supervisor-was unable to determined the date they may have made changes on their site.without extensive research-which we decided wasn't worth the effort as they wouldn't look in to it.
I hope someone or FF will be able find a workaround-as I do not want to use the browsers they suggest. I LOVE FF.

What exactly do you want to do with both the apps?
Since the exchange of files from AI to PS is based on PDF, I wouldn't expect problems. The only question is, if Photoshop CS2 will be able to read PDF 1.5, since that's the format AI CS6 embeds in its files. If it doesn't work, you could still save a PDF from AI and make it any other PDF version.
Illustrator can read lower version PSD.
Copy-Paste might be a problem. I can't experiment, since I don't have that PS version any more.

First I assume there is a bluetooth module inside your computer.
If so please test to reinstall its driver. To get a driver for the device, you need to know the brand and model of your computer or your motherboard.
Generally computer manufacturers will provide all drivers for their computers on their website. Search with your computer model on manufacturer's website could help you get a proper driver. If failed, search your motherboard from its manufacturer instead
will also help.
After that, uninstall your bluetooth module from Device Manager and install the driver you just downloaded, reboot to see the result.

Apparently HP has stopped updating that application for Firefox. It wasn't available for Firefox 3.6 last year and now - not for 4.0 either.

Comptability Issue with IE8.0 in SRM 4.0

Hi All,
Some of my SRM users are facing issue with IE 8.0. I understood that IE 8.0 is not a compatible version for SRM 4.0 But just of checking, if you guys have faced this issue and fixed it. This issue could be related to IE - Java - SRM.
In shop one screen, users can able to do everything. But if they try to open Approval preview tab or Follow-on document tab in check status transactions, then browser is automatically getting refershed and take the user to the portal home page. I believe both these tabs are working on Java. We tried with udpating Java with different versions, but nothing is working with IE8. We do not have any issue IE6.
Have any one faced the similar issue and fixed it? OR if you have any suggestion, please advise.

In that, against IE 8.0 ...it has been mentioned as "Released"? Does it mean that, SAP will support issues occuring with IE 8?
But I dont see anything related to Java vitual machine.
Can you please advise, whether my understanding is correct?

I am relatively new to the OAM and Identity management. I have an application which does authentication using OAM. While log in IE8 only (no other browser or IE version), I get the following issues:
a) I intentionally enter wrong password once and get the error message. If now I enter correct log in credentials still I get the error message and despite my repeated attempts with correct credentials, I am not able to log in.
b) At times, even though I enter the correct credentials from start, I still get the error message of invalid username and password.

ADF application Issue with IE8 and IE9

We are developing application under ADF. The application works fine in Firefox and chrome but when we open the application in IE8 and IE9 it pop up a message saying compatibility view should be turned off.Even though we turn off the compatibility view mode,The task flows that launches the jsff page are displaying blank page.In other words , I am not able to see any UI components in the page.Anybody has a clue on this?.Please Help

Freezing issues in IE8 with scorm 1.2 captivate 6.1 export in moodle 2.5

I am working for a large commercial company where we have IE8 and a moodle 2.5, i am exporting multible scorm 2.1 packages from captivate 6.1, the issue i am having is that the scorm content loads fine, then it gets too a screen that says loading, it then just sits there, we have waited hours and it never loads, the scorm package is flash based no HTML5 as this does not work with IE8, we have tried lots of different settings i have even removed the swf from the scorm package after export, replaced with an image, and updated the IMS manifest, this worked with no problems when re-zipped and uploaded, which makes me think its the swf file.
We have all the right flash plugins and can play a uploaded SWF with no issues, so i believe it is to do with the swf in the scorm package and how it calls on the appropriate plugins to run.
my question really is has anybody found themselves in the same situation, i cannot update IE8 to a newer version as this is a site wide company policy.
i have been through lots of threads that sound similar to the issue i have had but none had resolved.

somebody can help me.

NNot tried it on scorm cloud but when it's ran on a machine from a different moodle instance and IE 10 works fine, we ran the scorm debug page on the machine as we access the scorm content on IE8 & everything loads psnd runs fine on the scorm

Oracle forms issue in IE8

I 've installed 11.5.10.2 in my vmware machine multinode(server1:database,cm server2:form,web server) on redhat4.There is no issue with installation.I have created the softlink from mozilla browser to $COMMON_TOP/util/java/1.4/...../libjavaplugin_oji.I can access forms ,and other web pages from the linux machine.But when I tried to access applications from windows7(64bit) which is the basic os,the oracle application login page displayed(IE8),after that when we try to access forms,it tried to install jintiator,and closed with "Inernet has stopped working" Message. When I searched in google ,they said ie8 is not supported for oracle applications yet.Is there any workaround to fix this issue?
and also please explain about formsweb.cfg and appsweb.cfg.What is the difference between these two files?

IE8 is supported and can be used.
Please make sure you meet the minimum requirements and have your IE8 configured as per these docs.

Mountain Lion not compatible issue

Hi, i m using macbook pro with retina display 13'. Previously i successfully installed windows 7 using bootcamp. N now i plan on restoring everything to normal, as good as new. I tried command + r and go to disk utility where i erase the original partition which leave me with only the main drive and the so called base drive (around 1gb; which is unable to erase). Then i install the mac os x mountain lion. After successfully installed, the version is default 10.8.1 and i plan on upgrading to 10.8.2, but i was unable to do so. In apps store, it shows no update. When i try to purchase the mac os, it write not compatible. And i download the dmg file from apple aupport and is not able to install to due to the message unable to install on the drive itself through out the installation process. Anyone can help enlighten me?thanks

Couple of issues.
You should have used Bootcamp to remove the original Bootcamp partition.
I believe I read elsewhere in the community that Apple has temporarily blocked 10.8.2 from purchase or upgrade. This may last until 10.8.3 is released (no date).
You will have to continue using 10.8.1 until item 2 above is resolved.

Hi Michael,
IE8 Compatibility Mode is fine for use with STVN2.1 applications. As Stephen said, IE7 and IE8 are certified for SVSN3.0 but IE6 support has been discontinued.

Apex 4 Theme 20- Modern Blue IR Issue in IE8

The DHTML drop down on the magnifying glass icon to the left of the search does not display in IE 8. It seems to "hide behind" some other element.
Works well in FF.
Tried on a number of PC, consistly fails on IE8 and works in FF.
Is it an issue in our setup of IE8 or is it related to the theme?
Any suggestions or fixes?

The issue you have reported is a known issue - http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/4.0_known_issues.html - tracked with bug number 9893492. When running Internet Explorer and using themes that are not running in standards-compliant mode, the column search drop-down is cut off after a few pixels.
Workaround:
Switch to one of the new, modernized themes in APEX 4.0, which are running in standards-compliant mode. Note that this will alter the look of the application. A patch for the older themes will be prepared.
If you prefer not to update your application's theme, an alternative workaround is available. This is to add the following CSS snippet to either of the 2 places listed below the snippet:

Air installer issue on IE8 when runtime not installed

The standard badge is great, but on IE8, if it detects no runtine, a Flash error box 'A download error has occured. Try to download again?' comes up. If I click the (?) help icon, it first ******* about an invalid certificate. Once adding the security exception through IE8's wonderful security crap, I'm finally redirected to www.adobe.com/products/air. Unfortunately, my Mom (all our type of customers!) is not a developer which that page is for. It should be redirected to http://adobe.com/go/getair/ instead. As for the invalid cert - someone needs to fix that. please. thanks.

Our application uses a licensing service to prevent illegal copies being run. The licensing service is realized through an executable which pings a server in order to activate the serial code entered by the user. In the AS3 code, we use Adobe AIR 2.6's NativeProcess support to call NativeProcess.start(), trigging that executable to perform said ping. The executable is included in the AIR file, which is converted into a Native Installer (DMG) via the adt command provided by the Adobe AIR SDK for Mac.
While I'm not able to provide you with a build at this time, I'm confident that if you simply attempt to launch an executable from a Mac via an Adobe AIR Application, you will easily reproduce this issue. Just to be sure, here are my specifics again:
Original AIR File:
Windows XP
Adobe Flash CS5.5
Adobe AIR 2.6
Generate the AIR file
Native Installer:
Mac Snow Leopard 10.6.3
Adobe AIR SDK for Mac
Use the AIR file to generate the DMG file

Deployment issue: compatiblity issue with ODP, instant vs full client on PC

After a lot of deployment issues with full client, we thought we had the solution with Instant Client.
It worked great for a while, but now some of our users have full Oracle 11 client installed after installing our Instant Client because of other software that requires full client.
As soon as they install full client, our Instant Client breaks:
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. (mscorlib)
The type initializer for 'Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleClientFactory' threw an exception.
The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle client (Oracle Data Provider for .NET)
Our instant client is compiled with 2.111.6.20, the client is installing a different version (though I tried installing exactly same version does not seem to work either)
I've been experimenting to redirect the version to another assembly but no success.
How can I make Instant Client and Full client co-exist? The whole idea of using Instant was to be independent of other software who needs ODP.NET...
What do you do when 2 apps need different versions of ORacle ODP.NET (e.g. 2.111.6.0 vs. 2.112.1.0)?
Note that I don't have source code access to "our" app, so if it is at all possible through configuration, that is a prefered solution.
I also don't control our customers deployment strategy, they roll out apps over 1000's of PC's
