Compatible office software for bootcamp

I have installed bootcamp and it is very successful running windows 7.  I need a (preferably free) word processor/spreadsheet suite. Have looked at LibreOffice etc but can't find one that's compatible with the MacBookPro OS. Any ideas?

Are you looking for Office software for OS X or Windows? I suppose you are referring to OS X when you say "MacBook Pro OS".
LibreOffice is compatible with both Windows and OS X > http://www.libreoffice.org
Also, you have OpenOffice, but it doesn't have the same support from the community as LibreOffice.
Then, you have paid alternatives like Microsoft Office (for Windows or OS X) and Apple iWork (available in the Mac App Store)

  • Where i can get the windows support software for bootcamp?

lost my mac os x installation disk and need the windows support software for bootcamp. have a 17" mac book pro bought 08/2010... where i can get it?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
You'll have to purchase another copy of the OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard' disc, because that disc is the only source of Boot Camp 3.0 drivers.
The Boot Camp 3.1 and Boot Camp 3.2 drivers and some recent machine-specific updates are available online from Apple here: http://support.apple.com/downloads/#Boot%20Camp

  • Windows support software for bootcamp 5.1.2

Hey guys, I just finished installing windows 8.1 for my mac (MacBook Pro mid 2012). I realised that keyboards function aren't working (sound, light, etc.) and no wifi. It's because I do not have the driver install. The problem is, I cannot find windows support software for bootcamp 5.1.2 at all. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks!

Boot Camp Assistant gives you an option to download support software during initial setup. If you have skipped this step, you can try with this download: https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1720?locale=en_GB
If that won't work for you, you might have to remove Boot Camp partition and setup all over again.

  • Is it best to buy new ms office software for iPad or can I use my ms office already installed on my MacBook Pro ?

Can I use my current ms office on my MacBook Pro on my iPad or must I purchase new ms office software for iPad?

    Hi,
There's an app called Jump Desktop (Remote Desktop) in the app store. It's the fourth highest 'paid' app and the third highest 'grossing' app in the business category. (Go to the app store, then click on categories, then business. Then over on the right under top grossing and top paid you can click on Jump and read the reviews.)
You can work from your ipad with documents, spreadsheets, etc., make changes in them on your ipad and they will be reflected on your computer (mac or pc.) And you don't need a cellular ipad to make the connection. All you need to do is have your MBP on at home with a wireless network and be in an area where you have wireless access to connect your ipad (or iphone) with your MBP at home.
Jump Desktop (Remote Desktop) RDP/VNC will let you access your mac and all of your mac programs like MS Word, Excel, etc., as they are on your ipad. There's a free trial at jumpdesktop.com. If you like it you can then come back to the App store and buy it.  Please note that there are many free apps that will help but you might have to spend extra time adapting your work to an ios app as many (most?) do not translate from mac to ipad well.
Please read the reviews in the app store (I suggest you start with the most recent ones) and read reviews by pro tech reviewers.
    Hope this helps.

  • Free Office Software for 6280

Do any body know any software for 6280 which can read MS office files especially MS word just like Quikeoffice in 60 series??

No such apps for 6280 (it'd be fairly hard to do well in J2ME Java, which is all that the 6280 can handle).

  • Cant find "windows support software" for bootcamp

I am trying to restart bootcamp. I keep getting stuck by no windows support software.
    any though?

    Hi,
apart from the MacBook Air this feature is of no use for other Macs right now.
Simply ingnore it (click "I already have the Drivers...) and continue with the installation.
The OSX Snow Leopard Install DVD that came with your Mac includes the BootCamp Driver for installation after you have installed Windows.
Once installed you can then update the Drivers (versions 3.1 and 3.2) which can be downloaded from Apples Support website.
Refer to the BootCamp Install Guide inside the BootCamp Assistant
    Regards

  • Need word processing/office software for my 2001 PowerBook G4 Titanium

I am going to do some fundraising letters/brochures/invitations, etc. for a local non-profit group and would like something besides textedit. I want to be able to use pictures, interesting text and prepare it properly for the printer.
I have added plenty of memory to my old G4, but am still stuck with my old 400 Mhz Power PC processor and know IWork won't work. Is there anything out there I can add? I originally had Microsoft Office for the Mac 2001, but it's buried in my old system 9 and I cannot access it. Please help.

I appreciate the info and have spent time on MacUpdate...and also open office and neo office sites. It looks like Neooffice works with my old PC 400 Mhz processor...also works with Intel based Macs. Hope I'm write. I plan to download and try it. Thanks!

  • RIP QuickOffice; best Dropbox/MS Office compatible office suite for iOS?

    Hi all:
I used to use QuickOffice Pro on my iPad and iPhone and was very satsified with it. I don't do a lot of content creation or editing on those devices but it was nice to be able just pick one of them up and make a few tweaks or additions if I needed to, wherever I was. Now Google has gutted the app, getting rid of all the features that made it useful to me, so I'm wondering what other alternatives there are out there.
The #1 thing I'd need is Dropbox integration, since that's where all my documents are, which sadly excludes the iWorks app.  I know about DropDAV, but $5/month is a bit much for a service that I'd probably really only use only once or twice a month.  I don't mind paying for an app, but I don't wan a subscription fee.
Right now I have DocumentsToGo, which is what I used before QuickOffice, but I just don't like it very much. I think the interface is ugly and awkward and the formatting always looks wonky and I worry about it getting botched when it saves.  Any other ideas would be helpful!
    Thanks in advance,
    jf

    Hi,
I might have some good news for you. The Quickoffice app still works perfectly with Dropbox but only if you have the older version of app (the version before Google's "light" version).
Just install the old version on your iDevices again. When trying to link the app to Dropbox you will get a "server error" pop-up message saying that Dropbox syncing is no longer supported. Just repeat the linking steps and it will link to Dropbox without a problem.
You will get the same "server error" pop-up when trying to copy a file to or from Dropbox for the first time. Just repeat the copy steps again and your files will then copy to and from Dropbox without any problems.
I have been using Quickoffice linked to Dropbox & Box since Google supposedly shut down this ability on 04/01/2013. I got a new iPhone and iPad about 3 weeks ago and I sucessfully installed the Quickoffice app and linked to Dropbox on both. The iPhone's app version is 4.1.1 and on the iPad it is: 4.5.0.
I did find it strange that Google could stop me from linking to Dropbox on MY devices from an app version that was released prior to them buying Quickoffice. Turns out they could not. Just scare tactics to get everyone's data in Google Drive. And it is precisely for this reason I do not use ANY of Google's apps or services....
    Hope this helps.

  • Windows support software for os x lion help!

Hi i already downloaded the windows support software for bootcamp. but when i switched to my windows and tried to run the setup.exe file it doesnt seem to run. A command prompt-like box seems to appear and disappear in a second and then nothing happens after that. where am i doing it wrong?

When the installer window ask's you what you want to do, Run File or Open Folder, open folder and install the drivers manually.
Try right clicking the file and run as administrator, or right click and run in compatitbility mode.
Or drag the Whole file over to the Windows desktop and try the different ways again.
Try a search and there will be more extensive instructions on how to do it if you don't understand.

  • Label Templates or Software for Mac, Please. Avery software is no longer compatible.

    Hi Guys:
Mac Book Pro OS 10.9.1 Maverick
    Pages 09 and Pages 13
Avery no longer has downloadable software for Mac.  I have gone back to using Pages 09 as the new one isn't great. Label templates have always been a weakness in the Mac soft ware. I did have third party software from Avery which doesn't work with either Mountain Lion or Maverick.
I contacted Avery and they have an online site where you can create labels. I have limited band width so not an option. They replied back and I quote,
"We can only recommend using Microsoft Word for MAC as anlternative if you are only able to go online for a limited time. This software has preset Avery templates available. For more inquireis with this software, kindly check with Microsoft."
I copied this directly from there email. I had a hard time not correcting the spelling errors.
If I wanted Microsoft Software I would have bought a PC not a Mac.
If anyone knows of any label software out there that is compatible with Maverick, Please advice. I sure hope so.
I create a lot of labels,  less mailing more decorative.  If there is no other option I will purchace office for Mac. I really would like to avoid that.
My other option is to get the border---guide settings {not the right terminology} from Avery and create my own. With this fancy computer of mine I shouldn't need to.
Any constructive help will be greatly appreciated.

Label templates are pretty ubiquitous these days. Where is this data coming from? You generally need something that can conceptualize a database like this. Word can do that with its merge functionality. Apple Contacts has label printing built in. It all depends on the software you are using and where you are getting the data.

Hi, I just tried to open Word and this message appeared - 'You can't open the application Microsoft Word because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.' I just recently loaded OS X Lion does this mean my software for MS Office is now out of date?  Do I have to purchase a new package? Any help appreciated.

    Hello:
Office 2004 was written for the PowerPC chip only.  There is no emulation in OS X 10.7.
I encountered the same issue sometime ago when I updated to OS X 10.7.
There is one option that I might mention (other than buy Office 2011).  I switched to Apple's iWork.  Pages (the word processing package) is completely compatible with Word.  If you export Pages documents, you can export them in formats compatible with Microsoft programs.  iWork also contains programs that are compatible with Office presentation and spreadsheet packages.
The reason I mention this is that the cost is about 1/2 of the cost of Office.

  • Mac Compatible Windows Office software

    Dear All,
I've just installed my Mac compatible Windows Office software but there is this pop up that says that an 'unexpected error has taken place at the Windows Library Frame'. I wonder what it is. Does anyone have the same experience, or could anyone enlighten and help on this?
    Thanks!
    McIdiot

I had the same experience and I HATE these people who tell you its not a mac problem! IF they don't know and have no experience, why bother answering, huh?!
Wow... that's a lot of unnecessary anger you've got built up there.

I am trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro 13", when i run bootcamp it tells me that there is not a windows support software available for my computer. Where can i get the windows support software for my macbook?

Apple only supports Windows on certain hardware.
    http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/
Apple provides their framework for Windows to run on a Mac, a piece of software called a Hybrid MBR that bridges the gap between how Windows reads the drive partition table (MBR) and EFI/GUID partition table that Mac's use.
It doesn't mean Windows can't run on your Mac, a third party solution called rEFIt will also bridge the gap and allow booting of more that just Windows, Linux as well for a triple booting computer.
Your hardware has to meet the other requirements the second and third operating system needs as as being able to install drivers that will work for your hardware, especially the fans or they will run loud and fast by default.
    http://refit.sourceforge.net/
This above is a advanced procedure which requires knowledge how computers and various operating systems, drive formats and so forth work.
I even admit I don't know everything myself, but I experiment on a separate piece of Mac hardware (out of warranty/AppleCare) designed for this purpose so in case something screws up I'm not taking down my only machine and can use the other to get online and find solutions.
There is a very high potential for losing your data if your using advanced/non-Apple methods to install Windows on your only Mac where Apple doesn't support it. Also one shouldn't be doing this on Mac hardware that is under AppleCare or warranty as it might be voided. Proceed at your own risk and education.
