Compatible organizer software

Hi,
I have just upgraded my PC from Win XP to Win 7 and am looking for a compatible organizer software for my Curve 8520. In the past I have used Outlook but wonder if there are other applications (possible free ones) which would do the job. I need address book and calendar. Thank you for your help

Smart Playlists on Zen Vision:M and Creative Media Organizer Software

I come from the iPod world, where, once a playlist is created in iTunes, the playlist is transferred to the iPod, and is automatically updated each time you sync. That's why it's called "smart" playlist.
I can create a smart playlist using the Creative Media Organizer software. It automatically updates the playlist, based on the rules I defined. However, the playlist created on the Media Organizer does NOT get transferred to the Vision:M player! What's the point in that?
I can, of course, copy the smart playlist to the Vision:M manually... but there are two HUGE problems with that...
) The smart playlist becomes a "static" playlist... it does not get updated when you sync -- the music in the playlist never changes (even though the original smart playlist is updated on each sync),
2) The software recopies the *music* back to the Vision:M each time you create a playlist! This means that it overwrites the music that was there, with the (same) music in the playlist!! This takes FOREVER, if there are a lot of titles in the playlist! This is obviously a brain-dead way of doing things! All the software/Vision:M needs to do, is to copy the actual music files that don't currently exist on the player, and then create a text file that contains the *location* of the music... in other words, an M3U playlist file! One of the (many) issues with doing things the way this software does it, is that each time a track appears in a separate playlist, a duplicate entry for that song appears in the Vision:M's music list! So, if you have 5 playlists, and each one contains "Mozart's 5th", then when you list all the songs on your Vision:M, you'll get 5 copies of "Mozart's 5th" listed! Dumb!
Any way around these problems? Can I have smart playlist that gets transferred to the player so that it contains only the songs I want? Does it *have* to recopy ALL the songs to the player, each time I create a playlist? Does it *have* to add duplicate entries to the list of files on my Vision:M?
Is the software *really* as dumb as I think it is, or am I just being a BDU (Brain Dead User)?

You can only automatically sync playlists using Windows Media Player 0 as far as I know. There's lots of other software out there that can use the Media Transfer Protocol of the Vision:M, but I'm not sure what they can do.
Creative's software is desperately lacking in the playlist sync area, so you're not being a BDU

Organizer software - other than Outlook?

I'd like some recommendations, please.
I got my BB Curve 8320 all set up and everything moved from my Palm Treo 680 to the BB - no problems. Then I moved Contacts from the Palm software to Outlook Express. They all showed up even though some of the fields were screwed up ... no problem, I fixed that.
But I HATE Outlook Express, don't use it for email, it has no calendar or tasks ...
Do you have any recommendations for organizer software that has contacts, calendar and tasks that will sync well with BB Desktop Manager and my device? I'm running XP on my PC.

Okay, I found Outlook ... it was there. So, I decided to bite the bullet and at least use it to sync with my BB. However ... BB Desktop Manager wouldn't let me finish the configuration process because I don't have Outlook set up as my default email client - it doesn't even show up on the available applications. Well, I'm NOT going to use Outlook as my email client - not now, not ever.
Is there some trick to this? I'm getting a bit frustrated.

Canon T3i download cable will no longer work after 10.10 download. Plugging the cable into the 15 inch laptop says not compatible with software. Was fine before the 10.10 upgrade.

10.10 is installed. Now when plugging the download cable in from my wife Canon T3i camera to my wifes 15 inch Apple laptop it says not compatible with the software. Worked fine before the 10.10 upgrade. However I CAN download my pictures from my Canon 6D camera to MY 15 inch Apple laptop.....

I have a DSC-T1 Sony camera. I also have a Panasonic video camera with a built in digital camera. I just took some shots with the Panasonic. Plugged it in, and it worked perfectly. iphoto opened and did what it was supposed to do. I then tried the Sony and nothing happened again. Maybe this is a problem with the mac not recognizing certain cameras...?????

I downloaded it and gave it a try, but it seems a little too in-depth for me. What I need is an application that allows me to add metadata tags to files, and organize them. Do you know of any light duty apps along that line?

What's the best text organizer software

I used to use a program from Lotus Notes called "Organizer". I used to be able to type notes and organize them be catagory. I was also able to do a search on a word to find the appropriate note. Does anyone know if their is a similar software for MAC?

If you just want a notekeeper, there are a number of programs to do that, including DEVONthink, SOHO Notes, Yojimbo, and a number of others. I use SOHO Notes myself, but without knowing more about your needs and preferences, I can't say whether it would be the best choice for you. All of the aforementioned applications, and most if not all of the other choices, offer demo versions so you can try them out and see what would work best for you.

While Importing some components has missed and the Exception is unable to handle it. Is it possible for you to Import again and check the table space is sufficient.

Compatible office software for bootcamp

I have installed bootcamp and it is very successful running windows 7. I need a (preferably free) word processor/spreadsheet suite. Have looked at LibreOffice etc but can't find one that's compatible with the MacBookPro OS. Any ideas?

Are you looking for Office software for OS X or Windows? I suppose you are referring to OS X when you say "MacBook Pro OS".

Also, you have OpenOffice, but it doesn't have the same support from the community as LibreOffice.
Then, you have paid alternatives like Microsoft Office (for Windows or OS X) and Apple iWork (available in the Mac App Store)
