I was wondering if the iHome Clock Radio was compatible with the new ipod.
It can be found here:
Apple Store

  • Old Composite Video cable (Tangerine iBook) not compatible with Video iPod

    I discovered a little surprise.
Despite being exactly identical on both ends of the cable, an old Apple Composite Video cable, originally purchased for a Tangerine iBook, is not compatible with Video iPod.
Anybody confirms such situation, or is it just my Video iPod with a faulty video output?

The cable may look the same but it's wired differently. Please see this for more info :

  • Making QT videos compatible with video iPod

I have a bunch of music videos I want to put on my new 30 gb video iPod but whenever I try none of them are compatible and they all come up with errors? Is there a way to make them automatically compatible with the iPod or are they just stuck in the wrong format?

See this for help: Guide to converting video for iPod (Mac/Windows).

  • IBook G3 with OS 10.2.8 -- compatible with video iPod???

I purchased an iBook a few years back, and it still has the old OS 10.2.8 with only 128MB ram and 20GB harddrive. I recently tried connecting my relatively new iPod (5th generation, 30GB) to set it up to work together, and found it would not. Apparently the OS is too old for the iPod. My questions are the following...
    1) can I update to a newer OS with the amount of RAM I have?
    2) can the iPod function with a computer with only 128MB RAM?
    3) is there any way to up the RAM other than to flatout buy a new computer?
    4) is it even worth it to update this laptop at this point?
Thank you for any serious responses.
    iBook G3   Mac OS X (10.2.x)

    1. You basically need to install more RAM to use Mac OS X 10.3 or newer with your computer, and it will improve performance on earlier versions of Mac OS X.
    2. See above.
    3. Yes; you can purchase and install an additional RAM module. Your computer supports up to 640MB of RAM.
    4. If you want to use an iPod with your computer, you may be better off using an iPod other than the iPod shuffle, iPod nano, and Fifth Generation iPods, as you will be able to sync through the FireWire connection, which is much faster on your computer.

If you are prepared to cannibalise the cable you can get it to work but it's not as tidy as the Apple supplied cable.
Generic A/V cables may work if you get the RCAs in the right place, e.g. cables suitable for Sony camcorders work if you swap the Video (Yellow) and Right Audio (Red).
I think that's what the previous poster was referring to.

  • I got a Season Pass for "Chuck", and it says 7 of the episodes are not in a format compatible with my iPod Classic 160GB. Thoughts?

My subject line pretty much says it all. I'm trying to sync season 4, which has 24 episodes. I get this error on 7 of the episodes saying that the video format is not compatible with my iPod Classic.
I have tried restoring my iPod and starting from scratch, but I'm still getting the same error.
I can't imagine Apple is using a different format for different episodes, so there must be a work-around of some kind.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers!
    Melissa

    Hello Melissa,
Definitely a little odd that some episodes will sync and others will not, especially since they are from the same season.  How the videos were encoded may be slightly difference, so much that your iPod no longer friends them compatible.
I would have a look at this article.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1497
Since these are videos that were purchased from the iTunes store, you won't be able to convert them in any way, so you may be out of luck.

As I said the iTunes program on the computer.  You open iTunes on the computer and go to the View menue in the upper rightand then click on preferences. Go to Devices and delete the backup.

Upgrade to the newest version of iTunes first to see if that helps.

  • Is the Canon Powershot S2 IS Digital Camera compatible with an ipod photo?

I'm going on a roadtrip to the northwest next month and was wondering if anyone knows whether the Canon Powershot S2 IS Digital Camera compatible with an ipod photo?

You cannot, with a PC or a Mac, transfer photos from a camera directly to the iPod. You need to download the images from the camera to your computer first, then move the pictures from the computer to the iPod.
Not quite sure about that - from the Apple Store (UK):
Simply plug the iPod Camera Connector into the iPod dock connector, plug your camera’s USB cable and watch your images make their way to the iPod, ready to view in a slide show!
Compatible with iPod with color display.
    Not compatible with iPod nano.
    Requires iPod software v1.1.
    See http://www.apple.com/ipod/compatibility/cameraconnector.html for supported cameras.

  • Why are the application in the apple store are not compatible with the iPod touch 4g? Apple please realize there are some of us who still have the iPod touch 4g!

Why are the application in the apple store are not compatible with the iPod touch 4g? Apple please realize there are some of us who still have the iPod touch 4g! I just want to know.

Once I find the game i will truly screenshot that it states "not compatible for these models". I just find it RIDICULOUS that my iPod touch is in good condition and some of the applications that I want download sometimes are not compatible with my iPod touch 4g. I am not going to buy an ipod 5th generation if my 4g is still going strong since the year of 2010.

Is the apple watch compatible with the iPod touch 5

The only thing Apple has said is that it needs an iPhone to be fully functional.  Nothing about any other device.
