Compilation Missing One Track

For some reason, the last track of a compilation album remains as a seperate tune with the same album cover.
All the relevant info for each track is the same, except the name of each track.
Suggestions on how to get this last track included as part of the rest of the compilaiton are appreciated.

Hi soulartist!
I have an article here that can help you resolve this issue with your iTunes library:
Why aren't songs with the same album art grouped together?
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1468
That article should provide some information for you about how compilations are grouped together, which can help you link up the song you are having an issue with and the rest of your compliation. Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Have a good one!

Depending upon what country that you are in you might be able to try 'redownloading' it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes. If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that album and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

Are you using a stereo receiver or surround sound system for the audio by chance.  What you are describing sounds like a receiver that is not setup correctly, or does not have the speakers connected to it correctly to support Dolby surround, 5.1 or 7.1.  Which is why it is only happening on some content.  It would only be on the ones that are encoded to support Dolby audio.

  • Album Art missing from one track

I've got a fair-sized CD collection, which I ripped to 320k MP3 a couple of years ago on a Windows machine. I've just imported the albums into iTunes on my iMac. I've managed to resolve a few problems, but this one has me beat:
One album has one track with no artwork. I realise that you have to import artwork on a per-track basis, so I assume that the artwork was missing from the ID tag when the album was originally ripped.
Thing is, I can't find the artwork anywhere else to re-import it onto this one track.
Is there any way of getting the artwork from another track on this album onto the track in question?

It is pretty simple. Just select the track with album art, drag the album art from the artwork window to desktop and you will have a .pictClipping file. Now select the track with album art missing and drag the .pictClipping into the artwork window and you are done.

  • How can I import songs which are filed basis one album/compilation as one folder?

How can I import songs which are filed basis one album/compilation as one folder?
i can drag and drop one folder which is a proper album into itunes under playlist. if i drag and drop two proper albums into itunes it is also ok but if itunes does not know my own compliations and i drag and rop my 3000 folders in one shot into itunes i get only one playlist containing all songs.
pleased to hear if anybody know how i can avoid to do 3000 times drag and drop a folder into itunes.
    rgds, alexander

Before you begin the import, edit the properties of the tracks to set the Album Artist to Various Artists and Part of a Compilation to Yes.

  • Import Successful in one TRACK but failed another TRACK

    Hi Experts,
    I am on EP7.0 SP11, ERP2005, NW2004s.
I created two tracks for ESS modifications.
TRACK1: defined Runtime Systems: NWDI DEV = NWDI CONS, TEST
        1. checked in the components
        2. <b> Imported the components in DEV system: Import is successful</b>
        3. Did not import the components into CONS system, test system
        4. Imported the development configuration of DEV system into NWDS. I can see all the ESS applications. Active DCs , InActive DC views, etc.
TRACK2:defined Runtime Systems: NWDI DEV = NWDI CONS, TEST
        1. checked in the components
        2.  Started Import of the components into DEV system one by one and SAP_ESS is last one:
<b> Simultaneously, the components with status "import finished" are imported into CONS system. I did this while import of the last component SAP_ESS into DEV system is still running in the same TRACK</b>.</b>.
I do not know why import in one track is successful and in another is failed. Am I missing in the sequence of activities for the two tracks.
    Regards,

    Solved on my own.

  • Can't create a playlist from selection of one track

    Hi there
Since iTunes 8 I find I cant select one track and go to 'File' and 'New Playlist from Selection'. The option is grayed out. I have a lecture/sermon tracks that I want to burn to audio cds, hence often only one fits to a CD.
The obvious work around is to choose two tracks and then delete one - or do I even need a workaround? Am I missing the obvious?
    Mark

I can't do it without your workaround.
The only other option I see is to make a new blank playlist, name it, and drag your track into the new playlist.

  • New ITunes...systematically misses one file when updating TAGS of an album

With the latest version of ITunes (811) I am confronted with an annoying behaviour.
I like to have comprehensive TAGS when I import an album...proper GENRE, name of ARTIST, YEAR, album COVER and so on. So I always verify, and if necessary update the tags.
Now, with ITunes 811, it always misses one of the tracks from the list of tracks I want to change.Consequently, I need to select this track and perform the complete cycle of Tag editing again...twice as much work, and a genuine irritation.
    Any solution, known bug?
    Thank
    Patrick

Just wanted to add my 2 cents...
The original poster of this thread says it started on iTunes 8.11...well I'm using iTunes 10.1.2.17 and it's still doing it for me and has been for AGES. It is really frustrating. I highlight a whole album and add all the tag info because I am really pedantic about all of it being organized and all with proper names, artwork, etc.. Not every time but I'd say fluctuating between 50-100% of the time and normally about 90% of the time it will miss tag updates on one of the tracks. Normally the last one or towards the end of the album but it could be any, really. So what I do is I highlight the album, update the tags, click ok. Then before I even check if there's one track that didn't get the updates, I just immediately click 'Get Info' on all of them again and sure enough the tags will be empty on all the ones I just updated. This is because one track didn't get the updates so iTunes sees the selections as having one or more different values. So I put in all the values again. This could happen for any of the tags I update, including album artwork. So basically, when I do tag updates for an entire album I just always do the updates twice. I could search through and find the actual track missing the updates but I've found that this takes even more time. On the off chance that when I click 'Get Info' the second time and see that all the tags are updated I then jut hit cancel and move on, as I clearly don't need to put the tag updates a second time. But that hardly ever happens.
What's interesting is that before, without fail, one track would miss the updates and all the updates I did. So if I updated Artist, Album and Genre then one track would miss them all. Now sometimes the one track that missed the updates will pick up one or more of the tag updates but not all. This is actually more frustrating because it means when I highlight the entire album for the second time it gets confusing because my eye will quickly catch that some of the tags were updated, leading me to believe that 100% of the tracks caught the updates that first time but really if I look more closely I see that a couple of the tags didn't get updated.
There's actually a few buggy little issues like this in iTunes that I've noticed haven't gotten fixed over update after update after update of iTunes from Apple. I don't get it....
Also, why can't you add MULTIPLE artwork to more than one file at once? If you highlight an entire album and want to add the artwork for the front and back and CD of the album, then you have to choose one, and only one, picture which will obviously be the artwork for the front of the CD. Then, I used to manually go through all the tracks, go to the Artwork tab and then add the back or other CD artwork files. Now I just add the front artwork to all of them together, then click only the first track and add all additional artwork to only track one.
iTunes also has a little bug where many times after doing a search and it coming up with a list of music, such as "The Beatles", it will take about five seconds before it will let me scroll down the list and sometimes will take about five seconds before it will let me see the mouse pointer on the iTunes window. Anywhere else on either monitor I can see the mouse pointer but as I move it across the iTunes window it disappears until it pops out the other side as I keep moving my mouse.
I could keep going with this list but this thread is really only supposed to pertain to the first thread's topic so I've probably already said too much. We can't keep meeting up like this anymore or they'll find out.
    Anyway, so that's that...

  • Purchased album, but missing one song

I recently bought an album, Gym Class Heroes - The Papercut Chronicles and it is missing one song. On iTunes, there is only 17 songs, but on the actual album, there is 18. I looked on their site and also my friend has the album. What can I do do get the full album? I tried emailing Apple but I'd like to see if somebody here could help me. Also has anybody else dealt with this situation before?
    Thanks.

I'd suggest you contact the iTunes Music Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of this web page and explain the problem to them. They should at least mark it as a partial album, and of course get the track titles sorted (they may have come that way from the record company).

  • One track doesn't open when opening a frozen session ?

    Hi all!
I did a proper and thourough search first, before giong to this question. Didn't find anything about it. And wonder if anyone else has these problems.
Well it opens, but there's no audio track in it... read on.
All of a sudden, apparently out of the blue, when I open a session again, one track seems to be missing and I have to do an Insert audio track again, and freeze it a second time. It's just a trio recording of bass, guitar, drums, so it's no more than a 5 channel session and track lasts less than 10 minutes. It's even the "low" resolution at 16 bit and 44,1 Khz so it can't be a memory issue. Virtually no effects are applied until mastering out, where there's a little limiter on.However, EQ is used individually on each track and it has been frozen.
Having saved and edited a couple of times, and most certainly not have deleted ANY tracks, which you can't do when once frozen.
When I am opening the session again, just ONE track have lost its inserted audio track, and I can't open the "frozen one" again, I have to open the original once more and insert it. It's always the drums overhead left mike which is at channel/track 4. I've been scrutinizing of what I've been doing and most certainly not have undeliberately pushed some hidden delete keys to make it go away.
It's actually quite annoying. Before you ask, yes, I have the latest drivers, the latest upgrades, and a 3,4 ghz CPU Intel, 4gb RAM. Windows XP SP3. It occurs now and then say 3-4 times out of 10. I have just tested it to see if it had anything to do with frozen tracks, so I closed down the whole session with all tracks open - so to speak - and not frozen and then this error/bug hasn't occured at all. At least not in the 10 times I tried it with "unfrozen" tracks. So, a fair guess would be that it occurs while only I have frozen all tracks.
    Anyone else experienced this?
    /Henke

As I said, read my post "Send me both ses files (no media) via my aatranslator dot com dot au web site".  I made no mention of saving "frozen track SES files without any media".
I understand your frustration but I only made an offer to assist.
Now if you want me to have a look at your ses file to see if I can work out what is going on then send it to me without sending any of the media associated with it.
If not I'm happy either way.
    BTW
The idea of sending 2 ses files is to compare the one which can't find the frozen track with one that has just been saved and apparently includes the frozen track.

Quick answer:  Select all the tracks on the album, File > get info, and either give them all a single "album artist", or check the "compilation" flag (as in https://discussions.apple.com/message/17670085).
If these are from multiple-CD sets you may also need to enter the appropriate information in the disc number fields.

  • How to name tracks within one track.

    Hey guys,
I'm wondering if anyone knows how to add track listings within one track just say like on a mixtape.
A compilation of songs played out into ine track that would go for roughly 45 mins. Ive seen it done on a few tracks before where under the name of the whole track it would have the album name and then cycle through the idividual track names as it would come to it.
    Confusing?
    Thanks guys!
    Shaun

    Thanks Steve,
I'm using Windows 7 64-bit.  Maybe I'm misreading the interface.  I figured out that I can select multiple clips by holding down control and clicking on their title bars, but only the last track stays selected.  (see attached).  I guess Audition is supposed to work like this.  Maybe I don't understand enough about it yet.  I'm used to Sonar and Audacity.  Thanks again.
And I did find something like a manual here  https://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/audition_reference.pdf

  • How can I link to only one track on an album in the iTunes store?

I'm trying to link to a song and keep it seperate from the rest of the content on the album.  The link generator is giving me a link to the song but it still brings up the rest of the album too.  Is there anyway to isolate and link to only one track?  Thanks!

Experience (of iPods) tells me that the 160GB Classic and the 120GB Classic are from the same "family" and should therefore behave the same way. (The nano is a different family and the Touch another family yet again.)
So, since my 160GB Classic can play one episode at time, your 120GB Classic should too. To achieve this, turn on *shuffle songs/albums.* No, I'm not joking!
With shuffle on the Podcasts will play one episode at time when you select an episode from the episode list. Be sure to turn on the shuffle from "within a song" or from the ettings menu. If you have shuffle displayed on the main menu and use that to start shuffling songs, it doesn't affect Podcasts. You will know it's set correctly because the display will show 1 of 1 instead of 1 of "X".

i would like to be able to insure that when i import a CD into i-Tunes that all tracks from that CD go into a single file for that album in their proper order regardless of whether or not there is a featured artist on one or two tracks or whatever. i recentl;y imported an All Time Low CD into i-Tunes for my daughter and because one song featured a guest artist i-Tunes placed that song in a seperate folder and so when i synced my daughters i-Pod Touch that one track is not with the rest of the tracks form the album and has to be listened to seperately. The song is from the same album and should be where it belongs with the rest of that album so she can listen to the entire album with the tracks in the proper order. I am sure that this can be done i just don't know how.

Edit the Name of the problem song to Name [Feat. Guest]
Change the Artist of that song to All Time Low

What you want cannot be done. iTunes has its quirks, and the above is the kind of workaround needed to make the media display sensibly on any device. The article I pointed you to has others that you may find useful in future.

  • How do you copy automation from one track to another?

How do you copy automation from one track to another? Occassionally I mistakenly blow away a track's automation. I open up an earlier version of the song to try to get the automation. It doesn't seem that you can copy and paste the data. After some struggle, I find a way. Is there an easy way?

    1. Copy the track containing the desired automation to another track. (create a track below it to keep things organized)
    2. Double click on the region and delete the notes.
    3. Now copy the region to the desired track.
P.S. Of course when Logic asks if you want to copy the automation data you say yes)
