Compile problem due to struts set up issue?

I am trying to compile my first struts java program on Tomcat 5.5 container.
I set up the struts.jar in the WEB-INF/lib directory and put it in my classpath. I also created the struts-config.xml file in the WEB-INF directory.
Here is my class file:
package struts;
import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest;
import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse;
import org.apache.struts.action.Action;
import org.apache.struts.action.ActionForm;
import org.apache.struts.action.ActionForward;
import org.apache.struts.action.ActionMapping;
import org.apache.struts.action.ActionMessage;
import org.apache.struts.action.ActionMessages;
public class LoginAction extends Action
    public ActionForward execute(ActionMapping mapping, ActionForm form,
        HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
        throws Exception
        ActionMessages errors = new ActionMessages();
        LoginForm loginForm = (LoginForm) form;
        String userName = loginForm.getUsername();
        String password = loginForm.getPassword();
        ActionForward returnForward = null;
        if ("admin".equals(userName) && "opensesame".equals(password))
            returnForward = mapping.findForward("success");
        else
            returnForward = mapping.getInputForward();
            errors.add(ActionMessages.GLOBAL_MESSAGE,
                new ActionMessage("error.login.invalid"));
        if (!errors.isEmpty())
            saveErrors(request, errors);
        return returnForward;
}My errors message seems to indicate I dont have something set up correctly in my struts?

    does anyone know if i have to delete any system or photoshop preference? the illustrator is also having troubles. thanks

    thanks! what finnally worked better was renaming the «settings» folder in te «color folder» in the library with ~before the name. now indesign is asking me for thw icc profiles but still works, so i asume i can reinstall color settings only for indesign and go on.

  • Import problem due to Character set

    I did an export of an entire schema using Original export utility(not Datapump) in 10G Release 1 (10.1.0.3.0). When i tried to import it. I got the error mentioned below. • Material download issue due to Lexicographical setting mismatch in CRM &ECC

    Hi All,
    We are facing material download problem due to Lexicographical settings.
    In ECC, 'Save Lexicographically' is checked and maintained. While in CRM it is not maintained.
    Now, we have aroung 10,00,000 materials in production system, and now we are facing problem with numeric material with leading zeros in replication from ecc to crm.
    Please suggest what should we do.
    If we maintain the setting now in CRM, what will be the impact on existing material and transaction data in crm.
    Any sap note, with which we can maintain same setting as of ECC in CRM, and earlier data will also be valid.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Dhanraj Dange

    Hi
    1. In CRM, the transaction COMCPRFORMAT ( for Defining Product ID Settings ) has the settings for 'Save Lexicographically' as inactive then....
    With nonlexicographical storage, the product IDs 123 and 0123 refer to the same product, that is, the leading zeros are meaningless. Both product numbers are stored in the database as 0000000000000000000000000000000000000123 and are thus identical.
    2. But if In R3, the corresponding transaction OMSL has the settings for 'Lexicographical' as active then these 2 products will be considered as seperate products....
    Reward if helpful

  • Re: [iPlanet-JATO] sp3 jsp compiler problem

    Weiguo,
    First, Matt is correct, the regular expression tool is perfect for general text
    substitution situations, and as a completely independent tool its use is not
    restricted to migration situations (or file types for that matter).
    Second, I sympathize with the unfortunate trouble you are experiencing due to
    Jasper's (perhaps more strict) compilation, but in what way did the iMT
    automated translation contribute to these inconsistencies that you cited?
    1. Changed the case of the tag attribute to be the same as what's
    defined in tld.
    example: changed OnClick to onClick
    The iMT does not generate any OnClick or onClick clauses per se. In a
    translation situation, the only way "OnClick" would have been introduced was if
    it had been part of the pre-existing project's "extraHTML" (which was written
    by the original customer and just passed through unchanged by the iMT) or if it
    was added manually by the post-migration developer.
    2. Removed attributes which are not defined in tld.
    example: escape attribute only defined in three tags
    but in some pages, it's used although it's not defined as an
    attribute
    of certain tags. The jasper compiler doesn't like it.Can you give soem examples? Is there a definite pattern? Again, this might be
    similar to the OnClick situation described above?
    3. In an end tag, there can't be any space.
    example: </content > doesn't work. </content> works.
    Again, the content tag would never have been generated by the iMT. There was no
    equivalent in the NetDynamics world, so any content tags in your code must have
    been introduced by your developers manually. Its a shame that jasper is so
    particular, but the iMT could not help you out here even if we wanted to. The
    constants that are used by the iMT are defined in
    com.iplanet.moko.jsp.convert.JspConversionConstants. From what I can see, the
    only situation of a closing tag with any space in it is
    public static final String CLOSE_EMPTY_ELEMENT = " />";
    But that should not cause the type of problem you are referring to.

    Matt/Mike/Todd,
    We are trying to migrate to sp3 right now, but have had a lot of
    issues with the new jasper compiler.
    The following workaround has been employed to solve the issues:
    1. Changed the case of the tag attribute to be the same as what's
    defined in tld.
    example: changed OnClick to onClick
    2. Removed attributes which are not defined in tld.

    of certain tags. The jasper compiler doesn't like it.
    3. In an end tag, there can't be any space.
    example: </content > doesn't work. </content> works.
    As I see it, we have two options to go about solving this problem:
    1. Write a script which will iterate through all the jsp files and
    call jspc on them. Fix the errors manually when jspc fails. Jspc will
    flag the line number where an error occurs.
    2. Write a utility which scans the jsp files and fix the errors when
    they are encountered. We should define what's an error and how to
    correct it. It's best if we combine this with solution 1 since we
    might miss an error condition.
    Actually, there might be another option, which is seeking help from
    you guys since you have better understanding of JATO and iAS. Can you
    do anything to help us?
    We would be happy to hear your thoughts.
    At last, I would like to suggest modifying the moko tool so that
    these rules are enforced and the generated JSPs work with the new
    compiler. This is for the benefit of any new migration projects.
    Thanks a lot.

    Thanks a lot Matt and Mike for your prompt replies.
    I agree completely that iMT doesn't introduce the inconsistencies.
    About the three cases I mentioned, the third one happens only in
    manually created JSPs. So it has nothing to do with iMT. The first
    two are mainly due to the existing HTML code, as you rightly pointed
    out.
    The reason I made the suggestion is since we know that case 1 and 2
    won't pass the japser compiler in sp3, we have to do something about
    it. The best place to do this, in my mind, is iMT. Of course, there
    might be some twists that make it impossible or difficult to do this
    kind of case manipulation or attribute discard.

  • Parameter is incorrect compile problem in virtual box

    Hi, since Linux support for flash builder (flex builder at the time) was dropped longer ago, we Linux users are forced to use virtualbox to run flash builder. Latest virtualbox 4.1 has an issue to build flex projects.
    I spent hours yestarday to try to solve this and finally only working solution I found was to downgrade back virtualbox to version 4.0
    Stuff I tried after upgrading to VB4.1
    1. building existing flex project in existing installation of flash builder 4.5
    2. using 4.5.0 sdk and 4.5.1 SDK to compile.
    3. trying to set lower flash target, and changing other deployment params
    4. getting rid or any aditional compiler parameters
    5. setting up same project again using same fodler with files
    6. setting up project from scratch with project source files got fresh from repo
    7. trying with new flash builder installation 4.6 trial with 4.6 flex sdk
    none of these helped and all resulted in compilation error
    Parameter is incorrect, flex problem, location "Unknown".
    As this thread explaines http://forums.adobe.com/thread/982266
    there may be other solution which is to setup new windows virtual machine and install flex there.
    but for me this is just another bad solution as mine so far (not upgrading VB)
    After downgrading back to VB 4.0 all even existing projects in both 4.5 and 4.6 built with no problems.
    Just to complete I'm using Windows 7 as OS in VM.
    If anyone finds acceptable solution please share..
    thanks.

    So for those interested, I solved this problem by creating another blank Windows VM, re-installing Flash Builder and importing my project again.
    It seems that Adobe Flash Builder has built in something obscure that does not like you migrating a VM to another host.  I did un-register and re-register my product between the VM's by the way - that also did not work.

    The compilation of my labview fpga vi fails with the error message "LabVIEW FPGA:  The compilation failed due to timing violations, but there is no path information because the timing violations are not of type PERIOD".
    In the 'final timing (place and route)' report, the requested frequencies are all below the maximum frequencies and the compilation error message is only displayed at the very end on the 'summary' page.
    I tried to optimize my labview fpga vi with pipelining, but had no success.
    Can anybody offer some advice on how to debug fpga code with this error? Is this really a timing error or something else?

    Hi Kyle,
    the problem is: I have one computer which compiles the VI successfully and a second one which shows that error. Both use the same software setup (LV2011SP1+RT+FPGA from DS2012-01). Both use the same project file - atleast SVN shows no difference.
    - You can have one FPGA VI where one computer is compiling successful and a second one complains. (Btw. I have a SRQ running in Germany on this topic.)
    - More problems: After successful compiling on first computer and transferring all to second computer (using SVN, including the full project folder with all files like bitfiles, lvproj, and everything) the second computer is unable to start the RT executable due to error "FPGA VI needs to recompile". Solution so far: Call the FPGA-OpenReference with the bitfile instead of the VI (as I used to do until now)...
    - More problems: After modifying the FPGA-OpenReference to use the bitfile (on the 2nd computer) and transferring all the files back to the 1st computer (using SVN as before, including the whole project) the 1st computer complains: FPGA-OpenReference is creating a different reference than is used in the VI. So what happens here? On one computer my VI is ok, the reference is typed correctly. Transferring all the files to a different computer the VI isn't ok anymore due to changes of the reference??? You know: all files are the same: lvproj, FPGA bitfile didn't change, cRIO reference didn't change...
    All those problems didn't occur on my RT-FPGA projects in LV2010SP1. I'm not pleased...
    Best regards,

  • Compilation failed due to timing violations, Getting Xflow error and resources over use.

    Hi,
    I am extensively using Fixed point math library functions which i have downloaded from NI website in my FPGA application.I am getting following errors while compiling the code.
    I would like to know is there any limitations in using fixed point functions?
    I am configuring all funtions as a 64 bit word length and 32 bit integer length in cofig parameter set up and all are outside the timed loop.
    Apart from below error it is occupieng LUT's 300% in one simple VI (mathematical calculations using fixed point functions).
    So i would like to know is there any way to optimize the code?.
    Status: Compilation failed due to timing violations.
    The compile process reported a timing violation.
    Suggestions for eliminating the problem:
      * For Timed Loops with timing violations
          - Reduce long arithmetic/combinatorial paths
          - Use pipelining within Timed Loops
          - Reduce the number of nested case structures
      * Reduce clock rates if possible
      * Recompile

    The Fixed Point Library is certainly not a demo, and we encourage you to use it extensively.
    Really? "Demo" is perhaps too strong a word, but the NI Labs page says that the toolkits there "aren't quite ready for release" and are "experimental prototype"s. My understanding was that they work, but are only meant to show potential future products and get feedback on them. If this is not the case, perhaps the wording needs to be changed.
    I know I wouldn't want to be using something throughout my code and then find out that it is not supported when the next LV version came out because it was only a prototype. Can you promise support into the future for these? If you can't, that should be clearly stated.

  • Compilation failed due to a Xilinx error

    I'm getting a "Compilation failed due to Xilinx error" trying to compile code in LabVIEW 2011.  This code runs on a FlexRIO (PXIe-7962R) with an adapter module (NI 5751).  The issue comes when using the IDELAY clip node to synchronize the start of collection between two flexrio/5751 pairs.  The error message mentions "internal_IDELAY_CLIP_DataOut) has DELAY_SRC set to either I or IO but IDATAIN is not driven by an IBUF".  When we faced this issue before it was solved by following the steps in the following knowledge base article:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/BBD7A87F2ADC2028862577FB005F6B19
    These patches only mention LabVIEW 2010 but since I'm using LabVIEW 2011 they don't apply.  Any suggestions on what is causing this issue?  I verified that if I remove this clip node it compiles successfully.

    Hi Andy,
    As mentioned in the KB "this issue is caused by a bug in the Xilinx ISE compiler". It is not related to the version of LabVIEW, but it is related to the version of your compiler. Which version of Xilinx compiler are you using? (Check the contents of the C:\NIFPGA\programs folder). If you are still using the 11.5 version then you can still use the patch even if you are running LabVEW 2011.

  • Unresolve compilation problems

    I have narrowed a bug down to three lines of code. I do not see what is wrong with this code. In fact I am so sure of the code I was wondering if it may be a bug in 1.5
    I get the error:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.Error: Unresolved compilation problems:
         Syntax error, insert "AssignmentOperator Expression" to complete Assignment
         Syntax error, insert ";" to complete Statement
         LVN cannot be resolved
         foo cannot be resolved
         e cannot be resolved
    on the the last line of :
    if (useLVN)
             for(Enumeration e = ilocGen.getRoutines().elements(); e.hasMoreElements();)
                  LVN foo = new LVN((BasicBlock) e.nextElement());LVN is a class who's constructor takes a BasicBlock as an argument. iloc.getRoutines() returns a vector and useLVN is a boolean that is set earlier in the program. The program was fully functional until I inserted these three lines. if I replace the body of the for loop with ";" the code will still execute.
    Has anyone seen this kind of error before? Can someone clue me into what I am doing wrong? or is this something that should be taken to a bug report of some kind?

    I recreated the issue. The error appears in the last line of source code. Below is the full source code for all of the classes. As a note I am using jre1.5.0_06 and eclipse 3.2.1 as my IDE. • Compilation failed due to a compile server error

    I was using LABView 8.0 with RT and FPGA module without problems.
    I updated windows on 2006 April 18th and now I cannot compile any FPGA VI. Even the older one I compiled with the same computer previously.
    When I take EXACTLY the same project to another computer, it compiles just fine and when I take the bitfile back, my corrupted system can run with the bitfile.
    I fear the problem is with windows. I reinstalled LABView TOTALLY and still have the same error when trying to compile.
    According to the knowledge base I checked the HKEY and it doesn't change anything.
    Here is the error message:
    Status : compilation failed due to a Compile Server error
    Error -61499 occured at nirviExtractVHDLHierarchy.vi when called from nirviBuildprjFile.vi
    Possible reason(s)
    LABView FPGA : An internal software error in ALBView FPGA Module has occured. Please contact NI support
    Details : Error 7 occured at Open File reading C : \ NIFPGA80\srvrtmp\localhost\Eight...name of the bitfile ...\scripts\toplevel_gen_synth_lvfpga.txt
    Note : I checked this folder, it doesn't exist, thus it has never been created like the previous. After April 18th, not any new folder has been created.
    Possible reasons : File moved or deleted, incorrect filepath,...
    NI-488 : Non-existent board
    Note : I have nor use none of this nowhere !
    Start  time - Stop time : 12 seconds

    In order to try and isolate the problem can you perform a few tests.
    1)  Set up a remote compile and use the machine that is not working as the client and the machine that is working as the server.
    1.a) You can configure the client machine to use another machine as the compile server by going to Tools>>FPGA Module Options...>>Configure Compile Settings and change the machine from 'localhost' to the machine that you want to act as the server.
    1.b) On the server machine open the Compile Server manually by going to the Windows Start Menu>>All Programs>>National Instruments>>LabVIEW 8.0>>LabVIEW FPGA Utilities>>Compile Server
    1.c) Try and compile the VI.  It should generate code on the client machine and send the generated code to the server.  Wehn the server receives the code it will compile it and return the bitfile when complete.
    2) Set up a remote compile and use the machine that is not working as the server and the machine that is working as the client.
    2.a) Follow the instructions in part 1, but switch the client and server machines.
    These tests should help us isolate if the problem is with the Compile Server, or the code generation.

  • Extraction failure and then picked up due to IDOC setting on source system

    hi All,
    Just give one master data Company Code load as an example.  We run the data load every night around 12 though Process Chain.  When we checked the monitor, find that it ran twice, 1st time, it ran at 12 which was supposed to run, but it failed with red error and the red error msg is:
    "IDocs were found in the ALE inbox for Source System that are not updated. Processing is overdue."
    then it ran again at 07:45:55 which was successful with green light. We guess this problem is caused by IDOC setting on the source system.  Run WE02 on the source system, expend Inbound IDocs folder and then expend RSRQST folder, find status 64 which indicates the yellow status.
    Can anyone explain here why the extraction failed 1st time around 12am due to IDOC setting on the source system, and then the run was picked up around 7am successfully?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Kevin,
    this is really a strange behaviour. What I could imagine: it could be temporary network issue or performance issue or system unavailability on the r/3 source system side. maybe you could check if other processes/jobs on R/3 were canceled, or if there is any system log available at the time concerned.

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to write a jsp page and some java stuff in it.

      </head>
      <body>
    <%
              String strError="";

    </body>Now the problem is that I get compilation problem about the use in java -
    "String cannot be resolved to a type"
    I know for sure that in other computers it's work, the question is what I'm missing?
    I have Java VM installed and I've downloaded and installed the latest JDK, what else?
    thanks,

    I understand that of course, but I don't use any configuration file or set any special parameters in my computer.
    What exactly does the compiler need in order to recognize the Java code in the JSP page? If i manually add the JAVA_HOME environment variable it will work?
    where should I refer it to? "..\Java\jre1.6.0_07\lib" will do?It must point to the root installation directory of the JDK (thus not the JRE!).
