Compiling gettext extension for mod_php

pterobyte listed some great instructions for downloading and recompiling the gettext extension for PHP. That's exactly what I need, so I followed the instructions and was able to compile and install the extension. However, when I restart Apache, the following not-so-helpful message appears in Apache's error_log:
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/gettext.so' - dlopen(/usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/gettext.so, 9): image not found in Unknown on line 0
If I examine the .so with file, it seems to be exactly what's expected:

I don't have any other customizations in my Apache or PHP (and I really don't want to move to MacPorts, I had bad luck with it in the past).
Has anybody had luck getting the gettext extension compiled on 10.6 ?

It looks like you have the .so file under the wrong directory (or is it an old version?).
PHP is trying to load /usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/gettext.so (presumably because that's what you listed in php.ini), but the file you're looking at is /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613/gettext.so. 20060613 looks like a date -- almost 4 years ago, so make sure you compiled the correct version.

Exception in C++ air native extension for Mac OS X

I develop air extension for ios and mac os x.
I use the same code on ios and mac.
For ios all good.
But on mac - have problems.
In extension I use std::vector. Code example:
vector<Type*>* types; types = new vector<Type*>(); Type* type = new Type(); types->push_back(type);
Application crashed by line:
types->push_back(type);
I tried add try/catch block - but application crashed too.
I don't know what wrong. This code is work fine on ios and in console application for mac.

Need to launch adl as a line command (depends on your directory config, of course):

Pay attention to the library location: it is the one of the Air 3.1 install. Did not check the same trick with Flash Builder 4.6 Air install.

Building an Admin Console Extension for a Custom Security Provider

I am looking for an example or a description how to build an Administration Console extension for a custom Authentication Provider.
Especially the creation page for the provider is interesting because I am not able to create and register the required Authentication Provider MBean.
The call “mbeanHome.getMBeanServer().createMBean(className,objectname)” always throws the following Exception “javax.management.ReflectionException: The MBean class could not be loaded by the default loader repository”
Even if I try the class “weblogic.security.providers.authentication.IPlanetAuthenticator”, that is part of the bea distribution, the same exception is thrown.
It seams that the Problem has something to do with class loaders?
When I use the standard admin console pages to create and configure my provider everything works fine.
The only example “kennedy0208.zip” I found in the net does not deal with the creation of the MBean.
It only customizes the edit pages for the provider and at that point the MBean has already been created by the standard admin pages.
Maybe the author discovered the same Problems and gave up!?
What makes me wondering is that I have to put my MBean Classes to my console extension war file to be able to import the packages in my jsp.
If I not put the classes to my war the compiler throws an exception because he can’t resolve the package.
Because I moved my provider implementation jar to the directory “WLHOME\server\lib\mbeantypes” as described in the bea documentation it should run without putting the classes to the war!?!
I am very surprised that the bea documentation does not provide any example about this topic.

Found it. Cut and paste error. I still had one of their example class

External library inside Air native extension for android

I got a similar problem. But not exactly the same. And the solution didn't worked for me :(.
First of all, I don't have any visible error.
-I can easily talk between java and action script.
-The gateway is set without problems.
My problem comes when, from my java-side-part of the extension, I try to call a 3rd party library. This library is (and I think this is where I do something wrong) linked to my project as an external lib, in .jar format.
So when I make a call to 3rd party library, it just doesn't print anything. Neither on the adobe part or on the java part. The logs that are before my call are printed but not the ones after.
I tried different solutions that are:
-Taking all compiled class files of my external lib and add it inside the main native extension jar [link1]
same result (no errors)
-including the 3rd party jar inside the ANE by adding a dependence file that require the .jar [link2]
with this method i got this error that I don't get
> aapt tool failed:ERROR: input directory '--auto-add-overlay' does not exist
My third party library also include's itself some external .jars so do I need to include every jars inside the same packaged jar?
I can see that a lot of people are dealing with issues like that so my question would be:
What is the best way to include 3rd party library inside android AIR Native Extension ?.
For information, here is what I do to create the ANE

- AirInfinitGameASLib: just the folder with the actionScript part and the config xml file
- AirInfinitGameANE: folder in the one that will be the native extension
- AirInfinitGameLib: the eclipse java project. I need to put in that folder the airInfinitgamelib.jar(extension jar) and the library.swf (from the swc file) in order to beeing able to compile the ANE.

I had the same problem recently and fixed it as follows;
- Extract the 3rd party jar file and copy the class folder (usually named "com" in the root of the jar) to my project.
- Under Project Properties -> Java Build Path -> Libraries click "Add class folder" and add the "com" folder you just extracted from your .jar.

PHP5 extensions for Windows

(Newbie alert)
Can't seem to find any extensions for PHP5 or instructions for Windows. Are us poor Windows users out of luck.
I see in the BerkeleyDBXML\dbxml\src\php that you can create a .so for Unix/Linux. Am I able to create the extensions for Windows from these. If so how do I do this?

I had a positive experience on build of extension dbxml for win32 but it has turned out to collect extension only as a matter of fact. Working capacity of the module has appeared worse than under Linux (under Linux working capacity also not so good ) During build of the module for elimination of mistakes of compilation I had to correct "slightly" db.h (certainly it could not affect positively working capacity) and itself php
For myself I have solved the module that if very much it would be desirable to use php+dbxml+win32 that easier to use Java_dbxml+phpjavabridge+php+win32 or perl+dbxml+win32 PS Literally right after my "successful" attempt there was a fresh version dbxml

У меня был положительный опыт по сборке расширения dbxml для win32
но получилось по сути только собрать расширение . Работоспособность модуля оказалась хуже чем под Линуксом ( под Линуксом работоспособность php модуля меня тоже не порадовала)
Во время сборки модуля для устранения ошибок компиляции мне пришлось "слегка" исправлять db.h ( конечно врядли это могло положительно повлиять на работоспособность ) и сам php модуль
Для себя я решил что если очень хочется использовать php+dbxml+win32 то проще использовать Java_dbxml+phpjavabridge+php+win32 или perl+dbxml+win32
Я могу выслать собранную версию php cо статической поддержкой dbxml (Berkeley DB XML 2.2.13 и PHP 5.1.4 cli ) и исправленные исходники модуля

On the official web-ste there is information about my device and it;s written over there:

It's written that I have already an extended warranty, but i've just register the standard warranty of my new laptop!
Anyway, the question is: can i buy a warranty extansion in my cause and what type of extension i have to buy (from 2 to 4, from 2 to 3 e.t.c.)

Usually all notebooks are covered by standard warranty for a 1 year.
If you register the notebook on the Toshiba page, you will get an additional warranty year (altogether 2 years).
I think this is what you can see on the Toshiba page.
I think you can extend the warranty too.
You have to look here:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com -> Peripherals & Services -> Services -> Warranty extensions
There you will have to check available Warranty Extensions for your notebook model.

Using JSSE : "Invalid Netscape CertType extension for SSL client" Error

Im using the sample code given sun site for JSSE with Client Authentication. The sample as such it worked with the testkeys provided in that. But it didn't workout when I tried using other certificates.
Both client and server certificates I generated from our internal Netscape Certificate Manager.
Function of the server :
The server will read a private key from the given keystore and starts listening on a port. This server will server only GET request.
Function of the client :
The Client sends a GET request to the server and gets the response back.
I simply changed the key store name alone in the working sample code.
It is not working.

The same thing.
I have found the place where the exception throws.
It is com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.AVA class.
It has a constructor AVA(StringReader)
There is a check in this constructor of different certificate extensions
(if-else). If it sees no familiar extension it throws exception and handshake fails.
It is not difficult to fix this problem: just ignore unknown extension.
Everything works fine with this "improved" class (under VA 3.5).
But the problem is - the using of this class in applets.
How can I say the browser to use my "improved" class and not the one it downloaded with java plug-in?

How to Package Photoshop Extension for cs4/cs5 with manifest.xml

Hello,
tl;dr: How can I package my extension for both cs4 and cs5 in a way that respects the extension's window geometry?
I have a panel that specifies window geometry in it's manifest.xml. When the panel is installed into Photoshop's panels/ folder, the geometry gets ignored, so I'm trying to package the panel as an extension to be installed via the Extension Manager. I have run into different problems for each CS version. I've read quite a few pdfs about the Extension Manager, UCF command line packaging, etc, and have not been able to find a solution that works for both platforms.
My understaning
My trial and error research has lead me to understand that the extension's files must eventually end up in the (mac) /Library/Application Support/Adobe/<CSversion>ServiceManager/extensions/ directory. In CS5, if the extension's folder contains a manifest.xml file (ex: /extensions/GuideGuide/CSXS/manifest.xml) that specifies window geometry, Photoshop will respect that window geometry when the panel opens. However, in CS4, this is not enough. From my tests, Photoshop CS4 doesn't seem to do anything with the manifest.xml file. Instead, I had to modify /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CS4ServiceManager/ServiceManifest.xml and add my extension to it's contents. Once I did this, Photoshop CS4 launches my panel and respects it's window geometry.
The problem with this is that it's a manual installation. I can't ask my users to dig around in their system files to install my panel. In addition, since it's unsigned using this method, it won't work if they're not flagged for debugging. I've started exploring using the Extension Manager, but I have run into problems that I cannot find ansers in the few pdfs about packaging that I've been able to find.
CS5 Problems
If I use the UCF command line tool, I can package and sign my file. It installs fine and does what I want. However, using this method, I haven't been able to find a way to specify the author and description that shows up in the Extension Manager.
CS4 Problems
The UCF command line tool doesn't appear to make packages that can be installed by CS4, and I haven't been able to find one that is compatable. I've had to result to using the Extension Manager to package my extension based on a .mxi file. The problem I have here is that installing files this way limits me to putting them in the /panels directory, which then causes the panel to ignore the indow geometry. Is there a way with an .mxi file to install in the /Library/Application Support/Adobe/<CSversion>ServiceManager/extensions/ directory and modify the /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CS4ServiceManager/ServiceManifest.xml file?
There must be, because Kuler and other extensions are installed there.

Your extension is a CSXS extension. For CSXS extension it's introduced in Extension Manager 2.1. (You can download Extension manager 2.1 from http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_download/em20_download.html)
In Extension Manager CS2.1 only MXP package is supported. In Extension Manager CS5 CSXS extension must be packaged by ZXP format. So you have to generate two packages for CS4(mxp) and CS5(zxp)
For CS5, you can use ucf.jar to generate the zxp package.
For CS4, you have to create an MXI file and package it by Extension Manager 2.1 to mxp package. Here is a sample CSXS mxi file:

Looking for a high-contrast extension for Safari for Windows

First of all,what do we call them - extensions or plugins?
Is there an extension for Safari for Windows for high-contrast? I can't find one anywhere. Windows 7 is set to a HC theme. IE just follows suit. Chrome detected this, ad offered to install a theme.
Don't know why, but I still prefer Safari on my Win7 system. But really need HC. One that just inverts the colors would work, but one with several other options like the Chrome extension would be better.

I am planning to quit PHP and start developing in Ruby on
Rails. Their MVC model is really great and plus MS has also
appreciated this model and getting this implemented in new Orcas
Model ( New Asp.net 3.5 version ).
Ruby really beats every one since its totally OOP and plus it
offers more powerful features than PHP5 and Easily fights with
asp.net in power.
Ruby on Rails is the future. I need to practice this on DW8
can any one prpvide me a working Extension for Ruby.

Cannot install Firefox extension for Contribute 4

I'm trying out Contribute 4 and right away during
installation there's a bomb: The installer tells me:
Unavailable Components
These components cannot be installed on your systemat the
current time
Contribute Extension for Mozilla Firefox
Version Required: Mozilla Firefox Version 1.0 or later
Version Installed: Mozilla Firefox must have been launched
at least once
The same thing happeneds when, after the original Contribute
installation, I tried to use the Add/Remove Programs control panel
to Modify the Contribute installation so as to install the Firefox
extension.
I'm running Firefox 1.5.0.8. Needless to say, I HAVE launched
Firefox "at least once", indeed, many, many times.
What could the problem be and how is it fixed???

I have admin rights for the account ("Administrator") on
which I installed both Firefox and Contribute 4. However, neither
is in the default location, as I NEVER install ANYTHING in
C:\Program Files. (This is to make the whole system more granular
for backup purposes.) All my programs (except recalcitrant ones
from Microsoft) go into subject-area subdirectories of lanother
ogical drive.
And data goes onto yet another logical drive, with most going
into a Documents directory there (which has been designated as what
Windows XP brings up as Documents). Under that Documents I have my
Firefox profile, inside that, the Firefox extensions.
So I'm certainly suspecting now that Contribute 4, unlike
other programs, did not attempt to handle non-default installations

The reason I opened the Extension Manager in the first place was to check to see if I had installed a third party extension. And I was presented with these warning symbols. I haven't added anything, I haven't done anything that would cause this.
Does anyone know how to fix this???

Many InDesign pre-installed extensions (Those extensions you have immediately after InDesign installation) define dependency rules in their mxi files. Dependency means that one extension works well only if one or more other extensions are installed and enabled. If this condition is not met, the yellow triangle warning will be shown.
You can select an extension with warning, click "Advanced" tag page in the lower right panel. You will see "This extension has dependency on: <extension name> ...". Check whether every extensions listed here are available and enabled. If not, enable them. Repeat these steps for all the extensions which have warning.
