Compiling issue Involving IMAGES
OK, here's the situation. I have an image directory in the directory that I have put all my source code in. I am attempting to use the IDE NetBeans. When I compile my code via command.prompt using the command
java -classpath C:\JAVA\ divelog.DiveLog
everything is peachy keen and all my images work.
When I compile + execute my code via NetBeans, the applet loads but it doesn't seem to find any of my images. I've tried many different approaches to this problem such as giving a direct path
new ImageIcon("C:\\JAVA\\images\\diveflag.gif"), JLabel.CENTER);
and copying the images into the root of my directory
but
nothing seems too work.
I am extremely new to this Java business, sry if this is a typical problem.

[url http://jedit.org]jEdit can do all that for you too, and quite likely takes a lot less time to start. In fact, the code & comment block collapsing thing of Netbeans was copied from jEdit methinks. It doesn't have a GUI builder though, but I guess you haven't been using it in order to be able to follow the tutorial word to word?
You talk about applets but 'divelog' is a tutorial for creating an application... just to make sure: you are writing an application, not an applet, right ? Applets have security restrictions which disallow, among other things, reading files from the local filesystem.
I'm not a NetBeans user so I can't help you much with it...
I'm not completely new to programming.To object oriented programming? You know, the basic idea is completely different from C, VB, Perl, etc ... Divelog mostly teaches you about building a gui and you learn about the important features only "on the side," the better explanations are elsewhere.... it's your brains & time though :)

[Resolved] Compilation issues involving boost::function and GCC
Resolution: It seems that GCC does not like anonymous structs defined inside of functions being passed as the arguments. So in order to make it compile and such for the time being, I simply defined the structs at the top of the file and changed the other code accordingly. I hope this helps anyone else who might get stuck on this. Cheers. =]
I have been having this problem for a while, although I got it to compile by declaring the functor struct with ": function<void (Player *)>" after it. However, this only got it to compile rather than actually work. So I am hoping that someone here might have a possible solution for the problem. Now onto the code and such.
if (command == "me") {
if (args.length() == 0)
return;
string msg = player->getName() + " : " + args;
struct {
void operator()(Player *gmplayer) {
if (gmplayer->isGM() == true) {
PlayerPacket::showMessage(gmplayer, msg, 6);
string msg;
} sendMessage = {msg};
Players::Instance()->run(sendMessage);
The errors:
GCC wrote:ChannelServer/ChatHandler.cpp||In function 'void ChatHandler::handleChat(Player*, PacketReader&)':
ChannelServer/ChatHandler.cpp|163|error: no matching function for call to 'Players::run(ChatHandler::handleChat(Player*, PacketReader&)::<anonymous struct>&)'
ChannelServer/Players.h|47|note: candidates are: void Players::run(boost::function<void ()(Player*)>)
If it helps, this is the declaration of the Players::run function.
void run(function<void (Player *)> func);
Thanks in advance for any help you all can give. Cheers. =]
Last edited by emily (2008-12-24 22:05:58)Good thing you found a solution.
I've had similiar problems from time to time.
One of the few part of C++ I don't like... Include .h here and there, forward declarations etc, becomes a mess after a while if you've got lots of files. -
Need help diagnosing cause of printing issue w/ image distortion
Hello, I'm looking for some expert advice for my print issue with image distortion (see above) on my files once setup and proofed by my printer.
I have a large PSD background file out of photoshop (CMYK, 170mb psd) that is being placed into an InDesign document. No preflight errors, all correct SWOP cmyk settings, and I keep having issues where images distort on my printers proofs - they seem unable to explain the issue and can't offer any other suggestions beyond ("just try resaving/uploading again" which of course has an added fee with each upload...).
The files are all fine on our end: on-screen, on our cmyk proofs, and our saved PDFs/packaged files. But everytime our printer opens these they seem to have these distorted image problems - scrambled images (almost as if there was a ghosted transparent image in the distorted area), strange lines (see above, and color distortion (usually greens and pinks, see above).
Is this an issue with my settings/file formats? Maybe the issue lies on our printers end? I'll keep checking this throughout the day and provide quick answers to anyone who can help me get to the bottom of this.
Adobe forums have been a huge help in years past so I decided this was by best bet for a resolution from those who know more than myself (or my printer), thanks for taking the time to help!

BPEL Composite compilation issues in SOA Suite 11.1.2
I imported a SOA Composite BPEL project developed on SOA Suite 11.1.1 in SOA Suite 11.1.2. When compiling the project through ant using the "ant-sca-compile.xml" generated through JDev in 11.1.1 I am getting the following exception
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/fabric/common/FabricException
Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.fabric.common.FabricException

Could not find the main class: oracle.soa.scac.ValidateComposite. Program will exit.
Exception in thread "main"
Have checked all my classpaths and jar's which are found to be in order. What can be the problem?I changed some of the paths in the build file but now I am having compilation issues. It says the classpath is not set correctly. But I have included all the jar's properly in the build.xml.
Any pointers to where I might be going wrong?

Accesibility Issues with Image element
Hi All,
I've image element inside a table column. Image used is '~Icon/RedLed'.
Image source and tool tip are bound properly.
But we are facing an accessibility issue in this.
When accessibility mode is set to X, image tool tip reads as
'Image - Unavailable - Error Exist - Row 6 column Status'
where 'Error Exist' is the tooltip we are providing.
The problem is with 'Unavailable' word which is also coming up.
Also, Image is also rendered, so there is no issue like image path is not found therefore Unavailable word is comin.
Does anyone have any clue why this could be comnig up.
Regards
ManasHi Manas,
Check this blog to place image in your table.But the blog is to show image in ALV table, apply same logic.

Flash Builder 4.7 frequent compiler issues/restarts
Basically Flash Builder 4.7 on Mac OSX 10.7.5 is unusable. Very frustrating. Constant compiler issues that require frequent cleaning, closing of projects, restarts of FB, and even re-installs. I've seen none of these issues on FB 4.6 with the same projects/code.
The most common visible compiler errors are these two that randomly appear:
1) An internal build error has occurred
2) classes must not be nested
I tried increasing memory as some have suggested, but this has no effect.
It takes me 100 times longer to code now becuase every tiny code change cuases these errors. Crazy!
Before I revert back to FB 4.6, any suggestions?
Thanks,
DonHi!
Close any unneeded projects in workspace.
You can also split your large project to few libraries compiled into SWC. After compiling libraries, if not need to change often, close their projects. When such projects are closed main project compiling with just use of SWC libraries usually takes much less resources. -

SAP RFC SDK 7.10 Compilation Issues
Hello ,
We have a Pro*C program that is using the RFC SDK 7.10
When we are compiling our program with Pro*C Compiler in HP UX 11iv2 os we are getting the following errors:

I had checked the files sapuc.h and sapucx.h are correctly included in my program.
Also I checked for the errors : that the reference of some constants like
SAP_U16_PROTOTYPE is present is sapuc.h - However I am not able to
identify the cause of compilation issues.
Please can anyone guide me - or give any hints as to how this compilation issues can be resolved.
On sap rfc sdk version 6.20 with HPUnix 11iV1 we did not face such problems. Post that release we have tried all libraries including 6.40 and all of them are giving the above errors.
Thanks for the help.
Regards,
ShivaniThis compiler error looks really strange.
Without your sources (of the affected file) and the full command line it's impossible to suggest something.

Issues with Images when used w/ Caption Widget & Book File Size Q
Hi Everyone,
I was having issues with images not showing up and determined it was the caption widget causing the issue. I now have one of two issues happening consistently. Either the image does not show at all or just the caption box with bkgd gray and caption text shows, but without the image.
Anyone else have this issue?
Ay ideas would be greatly appreciated. I wasw just about finished with this project when this started!
Also, the size of the book is considerably larger than I realized.It is 81 mb. . . How does this compare to any of your books?
THANKS SO MUCH!
BelindaBelinda,
I can't speak to your main issue, as I cannot recreate the problem over here.
As a guess, have you checked to make sure you're not running out of harddrive space? iBA can consume space quickly, and behaves oddly when it begins to run out of room.
But as far as filesize goes, I can only wish for an 81 MB book. Mine is currently a little over 2 GB and growing. Tonight I had to split it into 2 volumes just so iBooks Author can run at a reasonable pace. I was getting tired of waiting 1-2 minutes after dragging a video around on the page before I could get control of the program again.
You should note that Apple is expecting large filesizes for this new Multi-Touch format. The docs on iTunesConnect say the largest allowed upload size for a book is 16GB 2BG (see link below)

Native extension - compiler issue
Hi,
First, I compile an iOS app with a native extension developped by ADOBE : http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/native-extensions-for-air/extensions/vibration.html#articl econtentAdobe_numberedheader_3
It's work well
Then, I made myself the iOS library on xcode. It's OK as well
Then, I made the ANE file following the tutorial http://custardbelly.com/blog/2011/09/21/air-native-extension-example-ibattery-for-ios/. It's seem OK
I create my air app with Flash Builder. I load ANE, SWC...everything seem ok
When I compile my Iphone Application with Flex, there is this error :
An erreor appears during the application packaging (my translation):
ld warning: in C:\\Users\\Tony\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\c6468656-be35-4f05-8d51-0dd54063cefd/libcom.adobe. LEDTorch.a, file is not of required architecture

ld: symbol(s) not found
Compilation failed while executing : ld64
Someone could help me?
I'm working on this bug for 2 days
Thanks in advance !
EmmanuelHi,
Apparently, the issue is the following: (find in the forum of
http://www.liquid-photo.com/2011/10/28/native-extension-for-adobe-air-and-ios-101/#comment -322
Apparently X-Code was trying to build NativeAlert.m as Objective-C++ source
instead of Objective-C source. Silly mistake really. It took starting the
project over again and trauling through the project settings to figure out
what was wrong. Oh well, all sorted now.
But i didn't succeed in setting the project with the corrects parameter.
Could you help me?
Thanks in advance

./configure \

prefix=/opt/php with-apxs2=/usr/sbin/apxs \
enable-sigchild with-config-file-path=/etc/httpd/conf

Re: help for analysis function in PRO*C
Please help me on this.
Thanks,
KumarHi Sumit,
Thanks much for a reply.
I am very novice for Pro*C. Please bear with me, if i sound odd anywhere.
I did check the program again. When i leave EXEC SQL and put the whole SELECT statement in double quotes and then postfix back slashes at each line in the SELECT statement, compilation succeeds. But I am just wondering, if this works fine, even if we don't use, "EXEC SQL" ?
When we use "EXEC SQL" and double quotes also, there seems to be two double quotes before SELECT and so compilation fails, with the below error msg. I think "EXEC SQL" is also appending a double quote.(??)
I did not really understand when you said "declaring the sql statement and calling EXEC SQL PREPARE". Are you talking about declaring the sql statement in sqlplus ?
If the above method of removing "EXEC SQL" and using double quotes and slashes is correct, then i think we anyway need not do anything else as the compilation went through.
Thanks again,
-Kumar -

Would you provide some details on how you’re calling this, which branch (e.g. Compiler is now known as Mxmlc on the trunk)? You need to have all libs from trunk/lib on the classpath.

Batik-related compiler issue
I received this error calling the flex2.tools.Compiler’s main[] method. The MXML input compiles successfully in the Flex 2 builder. I wanted to check to see if anyone had experienced this before digging deeper into source code.

"Occasionally" successful compilation issue on sun4v machine.
Hi,
I have created a thread on JSP section of the forum for this.
Intermittently successful JSP compilation issue
But I am putting the link here too because the only difference between the success and failed case is the platform we are using. We are using Solaris SPARC machines.
The compilation is a success on sun4u machine.
But on sun4v is mostly a failure (sometimes it succeeds though strangely).
I will be very grateful if you can go through the thread I have shared above and share some pointers on this.

Hi Ted,
Thanks for the reply.The file is not available in the server. Though, I checked CMS and I found an instance in history tab and the status is failed with error below.
Error Message:
A variable prevented the data provider Query 1 with BANRRD30 from being refreshed. (DMA0008).When I checked my codes, I found out that the object Im using is for web intelligence data provider. However, I cannot find any documentation and example for passing parameter values in desktop intelligence data provider. Any idea on this? You think this is not suported by Report Engine SDK?Thanks. -

Log Message:
Fixed inactive incremental compilation issue where library changes
were not causing application recompilation.
QE notes: We should add a JUnit OEM API test for this scenario.
Doc notes:
Bugs: SDK-25513
Reviewer: Pete F.
Tests run: checkintests
Is noteworthy for integration: yes, affects active incremental
compilation from FB.
Code-level description of changes:
Modified the loadCompilationUnits() used by
flex2.tools.oem.Application to pass the "sources" and "units" args
down, so that the PersistenceStore can populate them. This is
necessary to get OEMUtil.isRecompilationNeeded() called in
Application.recompile().

Very useful post!
I am looking for similar accelerators for

Which helps us to come up with the relevant Bill of Matetials for every area mentioned above, and the ones which I dont know...
Request help on such accelerators... Any clues?
Any reply, help is highly appreciated.
