Compiling libcrypto.a with flashcc
OSX 10.8.4
Crossbridge 1.0.1
Steps to reproduce:
wget https://www.openssl.org/source/openssl-1.0.1e.tar.gz
tar xvfz openssl-1.0.1e.tar.gz
cd openssl-1.0.1e
Now, edit the Makefile.shared, line 9.
CC=~/crossbridge/sdk/usr/bin/gcc
Save & Close. Edit Makefile.org, line 60
CC=~/crossbridge/sdk/usr/bin/gcc
line 67 & 68
AR=~/crossbridge/sdk/usr/bin/ar $(ARFLAGS) r
RANLIB=~/crossbridge/sdk/usr/bin/ranlib
Save & Close. Run ./config
You'll see:
WARNING! If you wish to build 64-bit library, then you have to
invoke './Configure darwin64-x86_64-cc' *manually*.
You have about 5 seconds to press Ctrl-C to abort.
Ignore that.. it's OK. Now, open up Makefile. Edit line 62
CC=~/crossbridge/sdk/usr/bin/gcc
line 63, remove "-arch i386" (flashcc doesn't have that option)
line 70
RANLIB=~/crossbridge/sdk/usr/bin/ranlib
Now, I only need libcrypto.a, so:
cd crypto/
make
Many of the objects are created, but it fails on
~/crossbridge/sdk/usr/bin/gcc -I. -I.. -I../include -DOPENSSL_THREADS -D_REENTRANT -DDSO_DLFCN -DHAVE_DLFCN_H -Wa,--noexecstack -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer -DL_ENDIAN -DOPENSSL_BN_ASM_PART_WORDS -DOPENSSL_IA32_SSE2 -DOPENSSL_BN_ASM_MONT -DOPENSSL_BN_ASM_GF2m -DSHA1_ASM -DSHA256_ASM -DSHA512_ASM -DMD5_ASM -DRMD160_ASM -DAES_ASM -DVPAES_ASM -DWHIRLPOOL_ASM -DGHASH_ASM -c -o x86cpuid.o x86cpuid.s`

Please you beautiful wizards.. what am I doing wrong?
Hi siznakeo,
Is this thread still alive? This is the first time I've ever posted here asking for help, but you really seems like you got somewhere with building libcrypto using crossbridge.
I am attempting to build libopenssl, and felt like I was bashing my head against a brick wall until i found your post. However, I think im using a newer version of crossbridge to you (I am using Crossbridge_1.1.0.devbuild.fdb5425), which does not appear to contain gcc; I therefore downloaded your complete ssl1.0.1e zip and replaced line 62 in the Makefile from:
/cross/bin/gcc to /crossbridge/sdk/usr/bin/clang
Similarly, I use:
/crossbridge/sdk/usr/bin/ar and /crossbridge/sdk/usr/bin/ranlib.
Many files compile after i issue make, but then the build fails with:
eng_cryptodev.c:57:10: fatal error: 'crypto/cryptodev.h' file not found
After looking into this a bit I discovered that HAVE_CRYPTODEV has to be defined for this code to compile, and it's not defined in Makefile (the Makefile is untouched in this regard as i was saying). I can only assume this problem is a by-product of my using crossbridge clang instead of gcc..?
I just know it will be one thing someone will say that'll probably save me weeks of frustration.. can anyone help?
Thanks a lot in advance:)

Hi !
When I try to compile in JDev with javac and the java 1.3.1 library, I get the following error :
Error: javac: invalid flag: -source
The command line generated by JDev looks like :
C:\jdk1.3.1_03\bin\javac.exe -J-mx512m -verbose -deprecation -source 1.3 -target 1.3 -encoding Cp1252 -g -classpath [...] -sourcepath [...] -d [...] @C:\DOCUME~1\user\LOCALS~1\Temp\javac54193.tmp
It seems that -source and -target flags do not exist in this version of javac.
But it does not seem possible to remove these flags generated by JDev, so I'm unable to compile with javac 1.3.1 and JDev.
So i'm looking for :
- A workaround to prevent JDev from adding the -source and -target flags.
- A future release of JDev where you could disable these flags, or, much better, where JDev automatically disables these flags when it detects a 1.3.1 library (there may be other incompatible flags I did not mention).
Thank you for your answers :)Hi,
when you open the project properties and choose the compiler option to tht the compiler to "javac" and then the "source" and "target" to 1.3, wouldn't this compile it for Java 3? I don't think that it is necesary to use JDK 1.3 for compiling the sources
Cross-Compilation Options
By default, classes are compiled against the bootstrap and extension classes of the platform that javac shipped with. But javac also supports cross-compiling, where classes are compiled against a bootstrap and extension classes of a different Java platform implementation. It is important to use -bootclasspath and -extdirs when cross-compiling; see Cross-Compilation Example below.
-target version
Generate class files that will work on VMs with the specified version. The default is to generate class files to be compatible with the 1.2 VM in the Java 2 SDK. The versions supported by javac in the Java 2 SDK are:
1.1
Ensure that generated class files will be compatible with 1.1 and VMs in the Java 2 SDK.
1.2
Generate class files that will run on VMs in the Java 2 SDK, v 1.2 and later, but will not run on 1.1 VMs. This is the default.
1.3
Generate class files that will run on VMs in the Java 2 SDK, v 1.3 and later, but will not run on 1.1 or 1.2 VMs.
1.4
Generate class files that are compatible only with 1.4 VMs.

JDev 1013 Error: Internal compilation error, terminated with a fatal except
I've a class I compiled used in JDev 10.1.2.1.
Now I try to compile it with JDev 10.1.3 but I get an error :
Error: Internal compilation error, terminated with a fatal exception
What does it means ?
How can I solve it ?
I tried to use both 5.0 and 1.4.2 compilers but the result is the same.
Tks

How to compile DNG SDK with GCC?
I tried to compile DNG SDK with GCC, but I got stuck to the following error message:
... dng_flags.h:33:28: error: RawEnvironment.h: No such file or directory ...
In other words, it seems that file 'RawEnvironment.h' is missing. I cannot find this file from DNG SDK or XMP SDK. Do you know where I could find this file or do you know how to compile DNG SDK with GCC?
Regards SamiPlease define either qMacOS or qWinOS (i.e., in your list of preprocessor defines). As you can see in line 32 of dng_flags.h this is required.

BUG: Internal compilation error, terminated with a fatal exception
After downloading the new Oracle JDeveloper 10g production, migrating all my projects, everytime I try to make/rebuild any file or package, I get the following error:
Internal compilation error, terminated with a fatal exception
This happens if use either JAVAC or OJC.
Regards,
Yaniv KundaI think the error reporting is wrong, since dbMessages.java is a translated SQLJ file, and the specified method exists in the SQLJ file around that line number - and not in the java file resulting from the translation.
Note that line 2958, in the SQLJ file, was the simple MessageHeader.Iter messageHeaderIter; line.
The definition of this class, is in a SQLJ file, which content is:

Q) How to compile a menu file (MMB) with library (plx) attached to it?.
I have already converted the PLL to PLX.
thanksHi,
I have both the source (PLL) & Binary ( PLX) in FORMS_PATH. The MMB file is also in the same directory as the PLL. I still get the same error. Any idea why?
Thanks -
Is it possible to compile under Forte with import com.ms.security.*;
Is it possible to compile under Forte with import com.ms.security.*; included in a java applet or do I need to compile from Microsoft JDK only? I would like to thank you on advanced.
Yes; just include the cab/zip file containing those classes in your project. You'll find them from somewhere in your system.
I would like to thank you on advanced. I don't give you the permission to do that. :) -
Compiling Java Servlet with Depricated Methods
I have a problem of compiling Java servlets that contain depricated methods. If you compile against modern version of servlet.jar I see depricated methods error messages and if I use a very old servlet.jar it cannot find newer methods. What is is the best solution in this case?
Thank you,
Boris.The best thing to do would be compile your code with the -depreciated option to find which methods have been depreciated and the refactor your code to remove them.
The next best thing is to ignore the messages (they are warnings not errors) and your code should still work -
SunStudio 12 Fails to compile template function with template argument
Hi
Look at the code below:
#include <iostream>
template<class InIt, class OutIt>
InIt copy_n(InIt first, typename std::iterator_traits<InIt>::difference_type length, OutIt dest)
for (;length--; ++dest, ++first)
*dest = *first;
return first;
int main()
char str1[]="Sumit";
char str2[20];
copy_n(str1,6,str2);
std::cout << str2;
return 0;
}I have simplified this to pin point the problem, This code dosent compile with SunStudio12 C++ Compiler, (however this works fine on g++ and vc++). The problem is with second parameter
typename std::iterator_traits<InIt>::difference_type lengthinstead if we specify any simple type as below, it works fine
int lengthSuns "http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio/documentation/ss12/whatsnew.html" says :

Make sure that you compile and link with -library=stlport4, otherwise you will be limited in the Boost libraries that you will be able to use.

Compile AIR application with Ant (WindowedApplication could not be found)
I'm trying to compile my AIR application with Ant, using the mxmlc Ant Task. It seems to compile fine, and I get a .swf, but when I try to run it with ADL, I get the message "Class mx.core::WindowedApplication could not be found." It looks like the AIR libraries aren't being included properly.
Here's my mxmlc task:
Class mx.core::WindowedApplication could not be found.
<mxmlc
file="${MAIN_MXML}"
output="${DEPLOY_DIR}/MyApp.swf"
compatibility-version="3"
locale="en_US"
static-rsls="true"
debug="${DEBUG_FLAG}"
optimize="true"
link-report="${DEPLOY_DIR}/report.xml"
configname="air">
<load-config filename="${FLEX_HOME}/frameworks/air-config.xml" />
<library-path dir="${FLEX_HOME}/frameworks/libs" append="true">
<include name="*.swc" />
</library-path>
<library-path dir="${FLEX_HOME}/frameworks/libs/air" append="true">
<include name="*.swc" />
</library-path>
<library-path dir="${FLEX_HOME}/frameworks/locale" append="true">
<include name="{locale}" />
</library-path>
<source-path path-element="${SRC_DIR}" />
</mxmlc>
Any idea why this is happening? I've tried not including the load-config section and not including the library paths, but it's always the same result - it can't find WindowedApplication.
Thanks!Hi, Guys!
I ran into the same problem when i tried to write an ant-script to compile the asDocs for my project.
After reading shades post i added the air-config (This resolved the WindowApplication couldn't be found error, because it adds all the air libs i guess)
but lead to the problem that the flex vector-class wasn't found. As Vector is flashplayer 10.0.0 i also
used the target-player parameter (This fixed that nicely).
But now i got the problem that i get lots of this error msgs: DepartmentItemRendererClass.as(11):
Error: The private attribute may be used only on class property definitions.
I guess the problem now is that ant doesn't understand that the AS-Classes producing that errors are not used as
standalone-classes. To divide my mxml and AS-Code i import external AS-Classes to my MXML
like that <mx:Script source="ascodeClass.as" />
Is there a solution allowing me to use this pattern and still compile my asDoc with ant?
It confuses me a little, because Ant-Scripts worked to compile the project.
Thanks in advance!
Florian

Error: Internal compilation error, terminated with a fatal exception
Hello,
I am getting the dreaded "Error: Internal compilation error, terminated with a fatal exception" build failure and cannot remedy. I've tried the various suggested fixes from previous posts regarding this compiler error. The file that the build fails on will compile with javac without errors. This error has occurred before with this same application. Restarting JDeveloper has worked in the past, but not this time.
