Compiling problem related to library conflict

Hi everybody,
As I used JDeveloper 10.1.3.0.3 to compile my program, I encounted a compiling problem.
In my user library, I have a class named Number.
In J2SE 1.5, there is also a class named Number at java.lang.Number.
So as I compiled the program, the compiler always tried to find the java.lang.Number first, then I got the compiling errors related to the class java.lang.Number.
I have added the jar file of my own package in the classpath, but I still got the compiling error.
But If I directly use JDK instead of JDeveloper to compiler the program, there is no such kind of problem.
Can somebody help me with that.
I really apprecaite your help.
William

Looks like I've been dumbed down by Java simpliciy. I'm referencing some source code that calls a function from this particular library. When I am compiling my code that makes the same call, I assume I need that library to be called out for the linker (link.exe). Do I also need any other libraries that this library calls and so on? How do I determine that the extent of what I need. The source code I'm referncing does include a make file. This was to create and exe file. Is it possible that I can edit this and have it make a dll instead?

    Can anyone help me with a problem i am having with my music on my iPhone 4S. I have put alot of Compilation CDs in my library on iTunes. I download these tracks onto my phone, everything is ok so far. Now, this is what is niggling me and I don.t know how to resolve it. This is my problem:
    Have downloaded for example: Queen – Bohemium Rhapsody from a compilation album as well as a few complete Queen Album CDs into the iTunes library and then put them into playlists,
    When I go onto my phone and select Queen on the MUSIC app using Songs tab at the bottom of the screen it will display all Queen songs and their resective Alum pics, that is all those not in a complilation album, .
    If I know the song title I can select the songs tab and find the song that way,
    I’ve tried fiddling with the settings in the iTunes app by going to ‘get info’ tab and trying to sort the problem out that way but am not having much luck.What I want the phone to do is show, for example all Queens songs including those in compilation albums. Can this be done, would be grateful for any ideas on how it can be done, that is if ic can be done, any ideas
    Thanks for your help

    Try assigning Queen as the Album Artist on the compilations in iTunes on your computer.

  • Compilation problem in a JSP page

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to write a jsp page and some java stuff in it.
    It goes something like this -
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"

    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=windows-1255"%>

      </head>
      <body>
    <%
              String strError="";
    %>
    </body>Now the problem is that I get compilation problem about the use in java -
    "String cannot be resolved to a type"
    I know for sure that in other computers it's work, the question is what I'm missing?
    I have Java VM installed and I've downloaded and installed the latest JDK, what else?
    thanks,

    I understand that of course, but I don't use any configuration file or set any special parameters in my computer.
    What exactly does the compiler need in order to recognize the Java code in the JSP page? If i manually add the JAVA_HOME environment variable it will work?

    I can't be sure, but suspect one of the following fixed it:
    - I had JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.0 installed to the same Oracle Middleware home. This could have been where the conflicting library was coming from. Second time around I didn't install JDeveloper.

  • Syncing up existing PC music compilations to itunes music library

    Sorry, I mis-stated what I wanted to ask in my first posting. It sounded confusing after I read it. I have corrected it below.
    I just bought my I-pod and I wanted to put my current compilations from my music library on to Itunes. Unfortunately, when I uploaded my music library from my computer, Itunes separated all my songs from my already created compilations or playlists. My question is this:
    Do I now need to go through my Itunes library and individually drag and drop the songs I want to a new playlist in order to re-create my original compilations on Itunes OR is there a way for Itunes to grab my original compliations and upload them to my Itunes library just as they appeared and functioned from my computer music library?
    PLEASE HELP!
    Thank you,
    Evan

    Thanks for the response. I set up the compilations into folders in my music library so i could burn these favorites onto a cd when I wanted. Other folders were set up of cd's I copied from original cd's to my computer. For instance, if I were to look for an original album, I couldn't find it, but I would find all the songs individually listed through out my itunes library.
    Let's say I created a folder called "Hard Rock" in my PC music library, and in that folder I had 5 separate compilations of my favorite hard rock songs with separate names (titles I made up for each compilation). At any time I could burn those compilations to their own CD's with no problem via the media player. My question now is, can those same (existing) compilations or folders be recognized by itunes as a favorite group of songs or do I have to individually re-create them again in the itunes music library as a new playlist?
    As it stands now, my whole pc music library is in the itunes library, but now organized as it appears in my PC library. Does this make sense? I guess I am looking to make my itunes library appear almost identical to my PC library. I am not 100% computer savvy, so I am just trying to figure all of this ipod stuff out.
    One other question and this is coming from a rookie on all this stuff...what does clicking and un-clicking the boxes to the left of the songs do??
    Thanks for all your help!

    Hi,
    How are you referring to the class path. I have created my custom build file and I refer like this.
    <path id="classpath">
      <pathelement location="${oracle.home}/lib/aia.jar"/>
      <pathelement location="${oracle.common.home}/modules/org.apache.commons.logging_1.0.4.jar"/>
    </path> oracle.home is the location where my aia.jar resides.
    In the compile-classes target I have
    <!--Target for Class path details -->
    <target name="compile-classes">
      <mkdir dir="${sca-inf.classes.dir}"/>
      <javac destdir="${sca-inf.classes.dir}"   classpathref="classpath"
             debug="on"                         nowarn="${javac.nowarn}"
             deprecation="${javac.deprecation}" encoding="Cp1252"
             source="1.6"                       target="1.6">
        <src path="${src.dir}"/>
      </javac>
    </target> Regards,

  • Resolve Library Conflict

    Is there a Boolean or function to set "resolve library conflict" to automatically replace? I've searched addItem and Paste, but I'm still given the prompt
    [ discussion moved to Flash Pro General Forum ]

    What you're describing would happen if you are dragging from
    the library of one Flash document to the stage of another Flash
    document. The library can only have one copy of a symbol with a
    given name. Make sure that you've clicked on the stage of the one
    you want to drag to, in order to see its library.
    It's a good idea to always name symbols you make, rather than
    leaving it at the default "Symbol 1", etc. If you don't change the
    name you would be more likely to run into this problem.

  • Compiling problem in oracle 11g environment

    Hello mates,
    We have recently migrated from oracle10g to oracle11g. we have lot of pro*c and forms programs.
    my requirement is to compile all those pro*c and form programs in 11g.
    for compiling pro*c programs we have compilation scripts. these compilation scripts are prepared
    based on oracle10g. pro*c programs are compiling fine by using this compilation scripts.
    after migrated to 11g, ihave used same 10g compilation scripts to compile pro*c programs.
    1.while compiling the programs first time, i got these errors
    /oracle/app/product/11.2.0.3_cli/lib32/libsql10.a: No such file or directory
    /oracle/app/product/11.2.0.3_cli/rdbms/lib32/kpudfo.o: No such file or directory

    /oracle/app/product/11.2.0.3_cli/lib32/libpls10.a: No such file or directory
    so i have replace all libsql10.a,libpls10.a,libpls10.a,libpls10.a to libsql11.a,libpls11.a,libpls11.a,libpls11.a
    2.then these errors got resolved but second time compilation it shown below error.
    /oracle/app/product/11.2.0.3_cli/rdbms/lib/kpudfo.o: No such file or directory
    so i have removed kpudfo.o file from compilation script.
    3. i have compiled third time then it shown diffrent error as shown below
    ld: fatal: library -lnapt: not found
    ld: fatal: file /oracle/app/product/11.2.0.3_cli/lib/libclntsh.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64

    ld: fatal: File processing errors. No output written to ./ebsparam
    i have changed script
    "/usr/local/bin/gcc -m32 -g -DSOLARIS -DSOLARIS2 -I$HOME/include"
    to
    "/usr/local/bin/gcc -m64 -g -DSOLARIS -DSOLARIS2 -I$HOME/include"
    4. then i have compiled again then it shown error as below

    ld: fatal: File processing errors. No output written to ./ebsparam
    collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
    because of 32 bit problem i have changed script to 32 to 64. but now it is showing this error
    what is the problem i am not able to understand.
    please help on this

    Doug,
    Your method is probably returning a data type that the codegenerator
    is misinterpreting.
    It could be related to a documented problem where a return statement
    returning an unsigned long( or a few other type ) value generates a
    GENERICRETURN instruction, which codegen erroneously believed
    to have no
    operands, causing decompilation errors.
    Take a look at Bug # 38525.
    The suggested work around is not to return unsigned long( or a few other
    data types ).

  • Compiling and linking C library in C++

    I am using a C library (Solstice FTAM v9.0) in my C++ program. One of the library header files has a declrartion
    short class;
    in one of the structures.
    The C++ compiler (Sun C++ 5.4 on Solaris 8) gives error. What we should do to compile and link this library in C++.

    You can use pointer to this structure without including the header that contains its definition, if it is possible, of course.
    Also, it should be possible to #define class to smth else just before including this header and then #undef'ing it. If this C library comes in binary form, it shouldn't cause any problems since memory layout won't be affected; if it comes in source code form, you can always compile it with -Dclass=smth_else on the command line and reference this foul structure field from your C++ code accordingly.

  • Win32 API 1.1.1 compilation problems

    We don't (alas) use Sun's compilers here, so I've
    tried to compile the Win32 emulation library, version
    1.1.1, using gcc 3.3.2. It yields the warnings and
    outright errors listed below. I think it's a little
    appalling that Sun didn't at least try this
    themselves; it would give them some clues as to what
    kinds of problems their own compilers aren't catching,
    beyond the effect of getting them to notice and fix
    these particular problems.

    All the source files have ".c" extension which mean you can not use the "CC"/C++ compiler to compile it. You must use the C compiler "Sun WorkShop 6 update 1 C 5.2" instead of C++ compiler "Sun WorkShop 6 update 1 C++ 5.2" to compile this package.

  • ColorPicker and ComboBox library conflict

    I need to use both components in an AS3 project, where components are created dynamically via script, but as I understand I need to put the components into the library anyway. First I add ColorPicker, then when I add ComboBox, I get a library conflict.
    If I choose to replace items, and comlipe the project the ComboBox works but ColorPicker starts producing errors, if I choose to use the existing items, the ComboBox produces errors when I click on it.
    Does anyone know how to make them work together?
    RESOLVED: The conflict was caused by a library movieClip that didn't belong to ColorPicker or ComboBox movieClips but had a matching name

    Well I was informed on another forum that I can not jar other jar files in my jar file (this sentence had to much 'jar' in it!). Or at least the class loader will not go search for the required libraries there.
    (the other forum is about ANT, so I did not cross post the same question ;)
    Basically I am working on a web application that can convert data into PDF using the Apache FOP library. Now I require to add the functionality to convert the data into RTF as well. The new beta version of Apache FOP can do this, but for some weird reason when deployed on JBoss it is not converting my data to PDF. (the current Apache FOP version is still in beta 0.92beta).
    Now therefore I decided to provide a temporary solution. That is use the old library when I need a PDF file, and use the new library when I need to RTF file. Then when a more stable FOP comes out I try to combine the two.
    (additional information on FOP: FOP has passed from a complete transformation from the last version to this one, therefore at a certain stage I will drop the old code and start working on the new one).
    Basically that is my problem in detail. I am trying to come out with solutions, and I do not want to believe it is a deadlock!

  • Problem related to PS CS6 ext. on Mac.  Nikon DSLR D610 raw file can not be opened

    Problem related to PS CS6 ext. on Mac. Installation is OK but I can't open picture from my Nikon D610 (Raw NEF format). I get a message "can not open this format ...". Checking Help menu to see if I miss an update the message I get is that I'm up-to-date but at the end Nikon D610 (format supported of course) files can not be opened . JPEG are OK but I work with raw files. Thanks

    What OS are you running: 10.x.x?
    What version of the Camera Raw plug-in do you have?  Do (About) Plug-ins / Camera Raw to find out.
    You need at least ACR 8.3 to open D610 files.  If the Help / Updates process does not work, then there is a manual install process you can do.  The page with the download is for when people accidentally updated to ACR 8.4 and need to roll back to ACR 8.3 due to their OS being incompatible, but the installer on that page works even if you haven’t erroneously updated to ACR 8.4:

  • Re: [iPlanet-JATO] sp3 jsp compiler problem

    Weiguo,
    First, Matt is correct, the regular expression tool is perfect for general text
    substitution situations, and as a completely independent tool its use is not
    restricted to migration situations (or file types for that matter).
    Second, I sympathize with the unfortunate trouble you are experiencing due to
    Jasper's (perhaps more strict) compilation, but in what way did the iMT
    automated translation contribute to these inconsistencies that you cited?
    1. Changed the case of the tag attribute to be the same as what's
    defined in tld.
    example: changed OnClick to onClick
    The iMT does not generate any OnClick or onClick clauses per se. In a
    translation situation, the only way "OnClick" would have been introduced was if
    it had been part of the pre-existing project's "extraHTML" (which was written
    by the original customer and just passed through unchanged by the iMT) or if it
    was added manually by the post-migration developer.
    2. Removed attributes which are not defined in tld.
    example: escape attribute only defined in three tags
    but in some pages, it's used although it's not defined as an
    attribute
    of certain tags. The jasper compiler doesn't like it.Can you give soem examples? Is there a definite pattern? Again, this might be
    similar to the OnClick situation described above?
    3. In an end tag, there can't be any space.
    example: </content > doesn't work. </content> works.
    Again, the content tag would never have been generated by the iMT. There was no
    equivalent in the NetDynamics world, so any content tags in your code must have
    been introduced by your developers manually. Its a shame that jasper is so
    particular, but the iMT could not help you out here even if we wanted to. The
    constants that are used by the iMT are defined in
    com.iplanet.moko.jsp.convert.JspConversionConstants. From what I can see, the
    only situation of a closing tag with any space in it is
    public static final String CLOSE_EMPTY_ELEMENT = " />";
    But that should not cause the type of problem you are referring to.

    Subject: [iPlanet-JATO] sp3 jsp compiler problem
    Matt/Mike/Todd,
    We are trying to migrate to sp3 right now, but have had a lot of
    issues with the new jasper compiler.
    The following workaround has been employed to solve the issues:
    1. Changed the case of the tag attribute to be the same as what's
    defined in tld.
    example: changed OnClick to onClick
    2. Removed attributes which are not defined in tld.

    of certain tags. The jasper compiler doesn't like it.
    3. In an end tag, there can't be any space.
    example: </content > doesn't work. </content> works.
    As I see it, we have two options to go about solving this problem:
    1. Write a script which will iterate through all the jsp files and
    call jspc on them. Fix the errors manually when jspc fails. Jspc will
    flag the line number where an error occurs.
    2. Write a utility which scans the jsp files and fix the errors when
    they are encountered. We should define what's an error and how to
    correct it. It's best if we combine this with solution 1 since we
    might miss an error condition.
    Actually, there might be another option, which is seeking help from
    you guys since you have better understanding of JATO and iAS. Can you
    do anything to help us?
    We would be happy to hear your thoughts.
    At last, I would like to suggest modifying the moko tool so that
    these rules are enforced and the generated JSPs work with the new
    compiler. This is for the benefit of any new migration projects.
    Thanks a lot.

    Thanks a lot Matt and Mike for your prompt replies.
    I agree completely that iMT doesn't introduce the inconsistencies.
    About the three cases I mentioned, the third one happens only in
    manually created JSPs. So it has nothing to do with iMT. The first
    two are mainly due to the existing HTML code, as you rightly pointed
    out.
    The reason I made the suggestion is since we know that case 1 and 2
    won't pass the japser compiler in sp3, we have to do something about
    it. The best place to do this, in my mind, is iMT. Of course, there
    might be some twists that make it impossible or difficult to do this
    kind of case manipulation or attribute discard.
