    Hai All
I am Sony Xperia Ray user. i would like to buy a new smart phone around 26k. I have few confusion on buying sony mobiles. please clarify it..
    1) If i buy a 2012 model phone at this time, whether they will give supports to 2012 models in future else they will omit 2012 models like 2011.
    2) Suggest some model sony xperia series to buy arround 26K. I need minimum 1GB Ram. Dual processors and more are prepared one. when i search for this , i found Sony P and Sony S. I am afraid to buy these model bcos those are 1Q of 2012 models (reason in point 1).
    3) When will 2013 model phones are released in india? Any idea about this?
Please help me to buy a good phone .. I dont want to buy a phone every year.

based on the "history" of sony phones, I would rather suggest you buy from the 2013 range of xperias. sadly there is a big chance that 2012 xperias would be suffering the same fate of 2010 and 2011 models.
yeah. XPERIA V is a good choice, unfortunately due to the lack of dedicated camera button you can not take underwater pictures.

  • How do I back up my basic phone when I already activated my new smart phone?

I recently got an iPhone as a surprised (they activated it and everything) I never got the chance to back up the photos and the saved messages on my basic phone. How do I back it up even though its not "active"

This may work. Hook a cable from the device to your computer.
It will or should show as another drive letter on the computer.
Access the photos on the phone and copy and past to a folder you create on the desktop.
After you have them, simply hook the iPhone cable up to your iTunes.
Then sync photos, search the desktop for the pictures. The they will be on your iPhone.
It sounds difficult but it really is easy.
If you had the photos on a SD card on the basic phone use an adapter which can be purchased at any computer shop and get the photos that way.

  • How do I get all information from my smart phone 4 to my new smart phone 5

How can I move all information from my iPhone 4 to my iPhone 5?

Using iTunes for this is recommended over iCloud since it will be faster and more thorough. Set the backup to be stored locally on the computer's drive.

  • Can I transfer Tungsten E2 data to a new Palm Pre 2 smart phone?

I'm looking to upgrade from a Palm Tungsten E2 + an old cell phone to one device - a new smart phone.  I have Verizon, and they offer the Palm Pre 2.  The question is whether I will be able to transfer my address book and calendar (and a few other items) from my Tungsten E2 onto the new phone.  I also have a 3rd party cookbook and a shopping list application that I would love to transfer too.  Not holding out much hope for those though.
If anybody has any reviews of the Palm Pre 2 phone I'd love to hear those too!
    Thanks!
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

No, I don't use Outlook to synch. I've always synched with the Palm desktop s/w. I've considered synching to Outlook, but I wasn't sure if my E2 could synch the memos and to do apps as well. Thanks.  My Palm desktop s/w ver is 4.1.4.

  • Upgrading a basic phone to smart phone without 'Share Everything'

I have older Family Share Plan containing basic phones, as well as smart phones (with tiered 2GB/$30 monthly data). When they are eligible for upgrade, will any new smart phones added to the plan be able to receive the same 2GB/$30 data that other phones currently on my plan receive?
The more unreasonable options seem to be requiring every single person on the plan to switch into Share Everything, or booting the person looking to get a smartphone out of the plan. Neither of these are a viable option.
Thanks for any help clearing this up!

The $30 per month is for 2 GB of data, in addition to whatever you are paying per month for voice/text/insurance/taxes, etc.  When you do switch, if you aren't aware of it, do it on the first day of your billing cycle so that you don't run into proration.
And some people are reporting that some Corporate stores try to convince people that they'll save money on the Share Everything plan.  Some will save money, some won't.  Just do your homework, know what plan you want, and read your new contract before signing!

  • Can not activate my new prepaid phone

On 11/28/14, I got a new smart phone and wanted to switch my plan and # to the new phone. That was 3 days ago!!! Not only is my new phone not working. My old basic phone does not work anymore. I was told I could keep using my old phone until they fixed the issue. I have been on the phone with tech support 4 times! Been on hold for at least 6 hours total over the past three days! Now I find out they had the same issue back in October. Verizon has the worst tech support on the planet!!! I have been all the way to the supervisor and still have no phone. I have been a prepaid customer for over ten years. I don't want to loose my phone number it's the only one I have. Also I live in the mountains and Verizon is the only service that works good up here. One of the tech people actually told me my plan was broken! Can you believe that my PLAN!!!

    Did you have a question?
There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

  • Droid DNA Smart phone

I'm considering a new smart phone (Droid DNA). Will it sync seamlessly with my Ipad and Macbook Pro? If not, is there a way to do this otherwise?

No, you won't be able to use iCloud, use any of your apps and you may find playing your itunes content difficult.
If not, is there a way to do this otherwise?
    Get an iPhone.

  • Cancellation Fee for Smart Phone

I am curious, what is the Cancellation Fee for a Smart Phone? In particular a Droid Incredible 2.
Also would the amount of the Cancellation Fee Matter if the End date was say less than a month away? Its end date is 9/13/2013 which is 5 weeks away.
I am basically wondering if it would be cheaper to just wait until then and pay one more month of the bill on it cancel it right now. The reason I am going to cancel this one phone from our plan,is because we got a new smart phone for my sister, through Verizion again, on its separate plan. She needed a new phone because here old phone was broken and it was a replacement already. Also we found out it would be cheaper for us if she had here own new plan then to continue here plan on our current family plan. Sound strange but is the case. Anyways I am curious as to what the cost is if I remove the phone early.

The Upgrade would actually cost here a little more than the deal for the new phone with a contract. Strange isn't it? But that is what it turned out to be when they went into the Verizon Store. Maybe the Staff at that Verzion Store didn't give them all the options or something but that is what they laid out for them when they asked about there options.
Another issue with the Upgrade is locking in a different plan from our older original plan. Although I do not think that would have mattered for her phone, but it was a fear in our minds non the less. Now my Phone on the other hand matters a lot with an Upgarde for it. I have the original DroidX and on it I still have the Unlimited Data. If I were to ever upgrade they would remove the Unlimited Data. At least that is what everyone has been saying. So for me I will never upgrade my phone. I am really Anti Data-Cap. My smart phone would be useless with a cap of 5gb. I use way more than that every month.
You know our Family Plan right now that we have is actually around $300 a month. Regular charges and not going over anything. Crazy if you ask me. Having this one phone removed will only bring the bill down about $60 but I also am going to be removing my HotSpot soon as well when its contract ends. I know longer need it as I am back home and not away at that job out of state. That will be around another $60 as well. Then it will just be mine and my mothers phone. Hopefully we can work with that bill better. If not then my Mother might decide to just cancel the plan all together.
The fact that my mother might cancel the plan is the main reason why we decided to get my sister her own plan. She still needs the phone.
Anyways after reviewing our current bill and what it would cost with her phone removed and her separate bill, the total is a lot less in the long run. Specials of new contracts and all that.
Thanks you tow for the replies.

  • Smart phones and ereaders

Recently got a new smart phone and when asked for password was stumped.  Set up wireless router years ago for other systems in the house and remember using a flash drive to get them to connect to the router.  Picking up a Nook from the post office today and know I'm going to face the same problem when it comes to get it connected to my wireless.  Is there a way to go about changing password or retreiving my old one from when I set it up??

What is your router? Here are some steps you can check. HTH

  • My new IPad 3 cannot connect to WIFI even it has a full bar of the reception. In the same location, my PC and my smart phone get a full bar connection without any issues.  How can I do to fix the issues (can I switch to IPad 2)?

My new Ipad 3 cannot connect to WIFI even it has a full bar of reception. In the same location, my Windows 7 PC and Andorid Smart phone can connect to the same WIFI without any issues.  How can I fix it?  Without WIFI, the WIFI only IPAD is nearly useless. If it cannot be fixed, can I get a replacement for IPad 2?

Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation. If defective, you'll get a replacement.
Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

  • Verizon won't let us activate a new basic phone. Just filed FCC complaint

My mom has had this Verizon plan for nearly 10 years. It's not a bargain by any means. It's $12 a month plus $0.25 a minute. Kind of a rip-off. But she likes the plan. Anyway, she recently added a $10 texting plan and talked to one of the sales managers at the store about getting a new phone (texting with a flip phone isn't practical.) He said she couldn't get a new phone with a QWERTY keyboard because she still has a year left on her contract, but recommended she get a phone elswhere, or buy one. She asked multiple times if Verizon would be able to activate the phone, and the salesman said yes multiple times. So she bought a new texting phone, an EnV3.
She called up Verizon to activate it, and they told her that the plan is no longer valid and any device switch would involve changing plans to a more expensive version. Keep in mind she's under contract after she got a new flip phone last year. What should I do? The store couldn't activate the phone either. I'll try online but not sure if it will work. I filed an FCC complaint though so maybe that will help. Otherwise, I'm getting my mom off Verizon once the contract is up. AT&T is good in our area, and even T-Mobile is. At least you get what you pay for with them.

        kgor93,
After ten years of loyalty, we want to see your mom here for another ten strong. Pending which plan she is on, a Verizon Wireless device like an EnV3 may require current pricing plans in order to make the switch. Do you happen to know the exact name of the plan she's currently on as well as the offerings? Also, which device does she currently use? We're going to do everything we can to express options to make sure she gets some proper help so she can stay on board.

  • I have a Nokia N97. I'm looking for a smartphone that is Blue tick approved for reception in rural Australia, which means only Telstra Next G. I would appreciate hearing about any smart phone with gd rural reception, and esp new versions of Android

There are reports of some 3G, or NextG ph's without a blue tick, with as good a reception as the blue ticks. This may include iphone, HTC Desire, and a new to Telstra shop Motorola Defy, that has a blue tick. Telstra staff are not able to give any information re upcoming models of smart phone + good rural reception

I was just having a look back at this post on the Q + A Session and had two thoughts:
    - Did Nokia ever address the questions that they deferred by saying they will get back to them later?
    - On Q9 the answer from the engineers that it was not an easy task to get Virtual RAM is a cop-out.
They admitted that the c: drive has memory paging and that this make apps run faster and smoother. That implies that apps installed on the mass memory won't run as fast or smoothly. I suspect that a lot of problems with apps are caused by being installed on the mass memory.
So where does that leave N97 owners, Nokia are very unlikely (like a snowballs chance in...) to recall N97s to have more memory fitted, so it goes without saying that Nokia should work on Virtual RAM from the Mass Memory as long as this can be accessed as fast as the c: drive (I don't know if this is even technically possible).
The decision to put such a small c: drive on the N97 was a terrible one, especially when you consider the position of this flagship device in relation to Nokia's move towards service with the Ovi Store and the additional overhead of the homescreen with widgets. Nokia all but acknowledged this by increasing the c: drive in the N97 mini. All I can hope is that Nokia have learnt from the bad publicity that this penny pinching exercise has caused and that whoever made the decision has either lost their job or been demoted to the most junior position in the company.
    Frustrated N97 owner.

  • New BBM version 6.1.0.49 Icon had disappeared on my blackberry 8520 curve smart phone

I'm so annoyed, angry and very disappointed one's again by the Reserch In Motion.
My BBM Icon disappeared since I've upgraded to bbm.6.1.0.49 version, my current OS version is 5.0.0.592, I've rebooted my blackberry phone but I can't seem to find my bbm, its no longer exist on my blackberry smart phone, I even done the pulling a battery out trick and I've try to Re-install it, checked the unhidden
files, then I deleted the new 6.1.0.49 version and install old
version, but nothing changed, I still can't find my bbm icon.
Does this means I'm no longer a bbm user or is the any solution to this anniying problem? Rim is failing its customers one's again. I'm totaly not happy, its like a have gone back into using a nokia phone though I have a blackberry but without a bbm it's so useless.

does that include with the new os update as well? but on a blackberry bold 9780 as thats the one i have and have the same problem
