Complaint of support in Eastern Europe

Hi,
I want to complain about your support for Eastern Europe.
I have Lenovo Ideapad Z500, of which I am very pleased .
But I had a problem with the backlight .
I am from Bulgaria and it turned out that you have to send the laptop in Poland for repairs.
Here everything is Ok, but when I returned the laptop all my information was deleted.
I guess I'd say unworn responsibility for the information, but I think it is right when you need to carry out such activities to warn the client .
For because of the backlight will not accept me erase everything from the hard drive and I would prefer to give it back with the problem.
I would be glad if you pay attention to your service for no other customers like me.
Thank you for your time.

I also want do add that the problem with keyboard backlight wasn't resolved. They returned my laptop with deleted hard drive and unsolved problem!!!!
I don't understand that?!?!?!?
Please tell me what i have to do now???

  • Eastern Europe Maps - poor coverage because of dis...

Hi, I live in Bulgaria which has, like most of eastern Europe, pretty limited coverage in Nokia Maps. This makes navigation almost useless here. What is most ridiculous, Plovdiv - the second largest city in Bulgaria is represented on Nokia maps with just a few main streets. There are similar examples for Romania, Serbia, Bosnia, Macedonia also Turkey and other countries around.
So I checked Nokia support for how to report missing map data. There is a page which explains there are 2 map data providers and provides links to NAVTEQ and TeleAtlas. What is interesting here: TeleAtlas has fairly good coverage in Eastern Europe but it seems like this data is not used by Nokia Maps. Anybody knows what is the reason Nokia not to use TeleAtlas data? Corporate policy?
I learned from other discussions that some time ago Nokia Maps used TeleAtlas and for this reason older Nokia Maps had better coverage especially in Bosnia and Serbia.

No it's not luck as psychomania said, this is solely Nokia's fault. Navteq maps are complete in every part of the world. Only problem here is lazy **bleep** Nokia not updating the maps they make us download from that **bleep** map loader. Navteq is not responsible for this. In Jordan, we still haven't got the new updated maps...
    Just read and **bleep**ing laugh:
"Ovi Maps for mobile is always with you in over 180 countries worldwide. It shows you where you are, what's around you, and gives you the local knowledge to find what you need." This is written on Nokia's maps homepage!

  • Weblogic support in Eclipse Europa (3.3)

Anyone have an idea on when Weblogic support will be available in Europa? It ships with support for Apache, IBM, JBoss, and Oracle and the Eclipse download site suggests that support for Weblogic can be downloaded, but I cannot find it on this site, nor is it found from the server update inside Eclipse.
    Thanks,
    Kent

Check out this post, appears it should be out soon.

  • Is the ipad 4 sprint version (or any) supporting lte in europe?

So i see that the band 1,3 and 5 are supported by the ipad 4 sprint version, so does this mean we can use lte in europe when purchased that model?

Well this is the coverage of 4 g - http://cdn2.spiegel.de/images/image-401115-panoV9free-yisb.jpg
    so it does not matter.
But why do they than have a iphone 5 gsm internation and iphone 5 cdma if both bands are the same and work in europe as well.
    iphone 5 CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1900, 2100 MHz); UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 3, 5, 13, 25)
    iphone 5 int  UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 3, 5)
i mean the ipad 4 appearently also works in europe and its this one:
    CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1900, 2100 MHz), GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz), UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz) , LTE (Bands 1, 3, 5, 13, 25)
i mean if gsm and edge and umts work on the ipad 4 in europe why make a second model for the iphone and not also for the ipad?

  • SMS UCS-2 support in western europe phones?

any reason why a phone that supports english, french, italian should not be able to forward an SMS in UCS-2 format with some accents that are not supported in 7-bit or 8-bit SMS Text format? Any reason why conversion from 16 bit to 7 bit format is silent? any settings to turn on or off this behaviour??
I am afraid there are historical wrong reasons for such bad sms text handling since the days of 3330 and 2650, but I hope someone is telling me that I am wrong
anybody who knows the pitfalls of writing sms to the east using phones bought in the west? :-(
    Thanks

only characters relevant to the languages installed, but what about hungarian for example
the characters are installed on my euro1 phone so I can display a message with some >> ő <<  correctly but I cannot forward such message correctly.
Now I would like to know something more about fonts for Nokia phones, there are is at least one true type free font that supports UTF-16 on my PC so I guess there is a way for devices handling UCS-2  to display something more even if the input method for asian languages is not installed
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UTF-16/UCS-2
I have no idea of smartphones or handhelds handling truetype fonts and unicode UTF-16
I have never had a reason to worry about these matters

  • When Firefox OS phones will officially appear in Eastern Europe?

I know that there was launch in Poland, but I did not find any information for adjacent countries like Ukraine, Russia, Belarus.
There are unlocked Movistar ones, but no neverlocked ones.
I know the answer depends on manufacturers, but maybe you have some ideas.
Thanks for your great work, Mozilla Team!

    Hello,
The first four countries to get Firefox OS phones are Spain, Poland, Venezuela and Columbia.
I think the word is that Brazil, Germany and more European countries will follow in the next few months.

  • Missing eastern europe characters in office word or adobe pdf

Hi, I have one problem that is bothering me so much.
Since I am from Croatia (Europe) I use characters like č ć š đ ž. Problem is that when I open some (some of them are normal) text documents or pdf files, sometimes it wont show me one or all of those characters. For example, I tried to open one document with Microsoft Office Word, and instead of "č" and "ć" it shows me little squares. Characters "đ" "ž" "š" are shown, but those two are not. Also I have tried open one pdf file and it shows me all characters except "ž".
When I tried to print one of those documents it was printed with those squares. I just cant get it, how can I open document like that and I can normally type that character in the same font of existing file, but it wont show it when I open it. Also, when I try to open those documents on my windows laptop, also in Office Word, it normally shows me all characters. I guess there is problem with Word and adobe reader in MacOS, but I just dont know what to do :/
So, is there any way I can fix that? What can be the problem? Please, help me because I really need my macbook for printing documents like those, and I cant change every missing letter.
    Thank you!

    Thanks for answers.
Tom Gewecke when I open that document with Pages or preview it normally shows me those letters, but than I have new problem with some ordering and lines that are in that document, so I usually use Word for everything. So there is probably problem with Word, but there is also problem with Adobe reader, when I select pdf document and press Space, it opens it with preview and it normally shows me those letters, but in adobe reader it wont.
Here is example of that pdf document. Characters č ć š đ are shown, but "ž" is replaced with that square. So I dont think that in this case is problem with font, because if it shows other characters i guess it should show letter "ž" also.
sabatica I can normally use croatian typing. I set it all in preferences. So I have no problem with that.
Tom in London i know that some fonts dont include all characters, but like I said, I can type in the same document in same font, it just wont show me already created text normally.
I normally use Word for typing, and most of documents that I open are normall and every letter is shown normall. But in some documents, not many of them, it just wont show some or all of those croatina characters.
    Again thank you for help

  • I would like to know if iphone 5 GSM model A1429 unlocked is available in stores in the US in order to buy and use in Europe

I would like to know if iphone 5 GSM model A1429 is unlocked and is available in stores in the US in order to buy and use in Europe. Please let me know.
    Thanks
    ST

Not officially for sale in the US, at the present time, although Apple's flagship store on 5th Ave, in New York City, gets supplies from time-to-time. However, no GSM US model iPhone 5 will support LTE anywhere other than North America. It will not support LTE in Europe. If you want LTE support in Europe, you need to purchase your phone in Europe.

  • Best way to use Skype in Europe

I will be travelling through Western Europe(FR,Bel,Ger,Aust) as well as Eastern Europe vis.Croatia,Slovenia, Poland and Hungary for the next 2 months. How can I find out the call rates back to the UK on Skype PAYG and would an unlimited account be better and if so how long must I sign up for. Would calls to UK landlines and mobiles be possible via Skype
Also, will my unlimited USA call product work from these countries.
    All help appreciated

"Just a quickie, does the 1.6p PAYG tariff to phone the UK apply to landlines and mobiles."
    Hello,
No. The 1.6p tariff applies only to UK landlines with 01, 02 and 03 prefixes.
No UK high cost landlines nor any UK cellphones are included.
TIME ZONE - US EASTERN. LOCATION - PHILADELPHIA, PA, USA.

  • I want to buy an iPhone 5s shipped from US but I live in Europe. Will it work?

Will an iPhone 5s work in Europe when bought in US? And if so, do I need to do anything?

First of all, Apple won't ship outside of the US, & to purchase anything from Apple's web site, in the US, requires a verified billing address in the US, & the item/items will only be shipped to a US address.
If officially unlocked(only sold by Apple in the US), yes the phone will work in Europe, but will not support LTE in Europe, & your warranty/support will only be valid in the US. By the time you pay taxes & import duties, you most likely won't save any money, either.
Still seem like a good idea?

  • Using a new Palm Pre or Pixi in Europe - CDMA vs. GSM

I am hoping to upgrade from the old Palm TX that I currently have to one of the Palm smartphones.  The problem I have is the available carriers.  Right now, it seems that my only choice is Sprint.  The problem I have with Sprint is that their network is not compatable with European networks.  Verizon is going to be offering the the Pre Plus and Pixi Plus, however, I believe that those are CDMA phones which would not work in Europe.  The Pre and Pixi apparently are dual band GSM phones, but the only carrier that seems to offer them is Sprint.  The only good thing I can say about AT&T is that my old Motorola phone works everywhere I have gone recently in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and Russia.  Anyone have a workaround for me - other than continuing to carry around two different devices?
    Post relates to: Palm TX

Sprint is also a CDMA carrier here in the US.
There is an unlocked Pre sold in Germany at the moment.
It is rumored that webOS devices will shortly arrive at AT&T, so that might be the best bet - a little patience!
