Complete deletion and re-load

I have way too many My_iTunes. It started because i use my laptop at work on a network, so i didnt realize i had 2 different iTunes. I was brand new to it all, and i was screwing things all up. I want to completely erase any and all traces of ALL existing iTunes.
Then i'd like to start all over again. My CD Library is backed-up on an External hard-drive, so it should NOT be an issue for me to start from scratch.
I'd like my brand new Nano-5 to start from scratch.
I will explain more of my issues next. I didnt want to over burden. Most of them are probably cause by me since i was in-expierenced at first.

This is Sales Order extractor, the data got loaded to ODS just fine, but since the data is coming to ODS from different extractor. Everything is fine in ODS, but not in the cube. Will Full repair request and Full load would it make difference when the data is going to cube? I thought that it would matter only if I am loading to ODS.
what do you mean "Even if you do a full load without any selections you should do a full repair ".

Can someone please advise, that in the context of DSO being populated with overwrite function, would the FULL LOAD in following two options (1 and 2) take the same amount of time to execute or one would take lesser than the other. Please also explain the rationale behind your answer
1. Delete of data target contents of ODS A, Followed by FULL LOAD into ODS A, followed by activation of ODS
2. Plain FULL LOAD into ODS A (i.e. without the preceeding delete data target contents step), Followed by activation of ODS
Repeating the question - whether FULL LOAD in 1 will take the same time as FULL LOAD in 2, if one takes lesser than the other then why so.
Context : Normal 3.5 ODS with seperate change log, new and active record tables.

I think the main difference is that you with the process "Delete and full load" you will only get the full loaded data inside the dso. With full load you the system uses the modify logic (overwrite for all datasets already in the dso) and insert for all new datasets which are not inside yet inside the dso

Selective Deletion and Data Load from Setup Tables for LIS Extractor

Hi All,
We came across a situation where one of the delta in PSA was missed to load in DSO. This DSO updates another cube in the flow. Since it has been many days since this miss come in our knowledge we need to selectively delete data for those documents from DSO & Cube and then take a full load for the Documents filling the setup table.
Now what will be the right approach to load this data from setup table > DSO > cube. There is change log present for those documents and a few KPI's in DSO are in summation mode.

Master Data deletion and data load

Hi,
In a process chain, Master data of my InfoObject are deleted then reloaded.
My InfoObject is used in cubes and ODS that are loaded later in full or delta.
My question is: what happens if thoses cubes and ODS are loaded when Master data of my InfoObject are blank (=Process chain failure / Master Data of my InfoObject are deleted but not loaded) ?

you cant delete the master data , till the time it exits in any of the data target ( cube or ODS).
Now lets say you have new record for master data coming in say , example new material being introduced.
The cube or ODS will take that new mateiral from the transactional data , and to maintain the corresponding the master data when ever it is loaded successfully it will reflect in your reports provided you have maintain/hierarchy attribute change job scheduled.

Query has to display completed quarters and Data loaded month.

Hi All,
I have 2 issues in BEX .
1. I need to display data loaded month(0calmonth):
Ex: Jan 2007 data has loaded in May 2007, my query has to display for 3 months JAN 2007, Dec 2006, November 2006.
2. completed quarters : if we are in mid of 3 quarter, query has to display Quarter1 and quarter2 (completed) ,nothing has to display in quarter 3.

1. you mentioned data loded month... but you are pointing Calender month that data belongs to? Are you want display based on Calender Month that data belongs to (Jan 2007) or Loded Month (May 2007) or Last Loded Month?
2. create User Exit variable on Quarter or Month IO. in the User Exit Code, check which Quarter that current month belongs to? if it is mid of 3rd quarter, pass Quarter 1 and 2 (or for month 1 to 6).

How to reinstall firefox 7 after complete deletion and recover all personal settings

I tried windows restore, but there are no records of a restore point.
I was using CC Cleaner program which told me that a previous version Firefox 6 was still on the drive. I allowed it to delete that, and then found that my Firefox 7 icon & program had disappeared completely.
I could just download & reinstall FF7, but then all my saved settings would probably be wiped out -- is that correct ??

Give it a try. Firefox saves all of your personal settings in a different folder than the program itself. So it's possible that you still have your personal settings ([[Profiles|profile folder]]). You can install the latest Firefox and if it finds your profile you'll be back in business.

My iTunes library music has been completely deleted and I can no longer add or remove music on my Iphone 4 from iTunes

So today when I plugged in my iphone 4 to my laptop I discovered that all my music had been deleted from my library. So then when I would download my music again and try adding music to my phone it wouldn't do it. I would drag a song over to the "on this phone" and onto "my iphone" where Im suppose to add music but it would not light up indicating that the song couldn't be added. So what I try to do next is sync what music I downloaded again into my library onto my phone and it seemed to have worked like that.
After that I tried deleting some music off of my phone and THAT wouldn't work either. I right clicked a song and discovered that there was no "delete" option. I tried it with all the other songs and it was all the same.
Sorry if this all seems confusing and long but please help. I'm also new to this apple discussion website so sorry if I post this in the wrong category lol

I can't even find the app with another app the developers created for that exact purpose! ;-) However, the App Store still thinks it's installed. That something is "installed" seems almost irrelevant So what? Why should that prevent its being downloaded again by the same person/computer?
If an app becomes corrupted, it may or may not corrupt whatever it is that the App Store uses to verify it was/is installed. I'm beginning to think that the only thing the Store really knows is that a certain user-name and Apple ID combination actually downloaded something. Whether it got installed correctly is not even know by the Store. All it really knows is that the download was complete.
Even Lion has a "Reciepts" folder, it's in the boot drive Libbrary. However, it appears to have fewer ".pkg" files as in previous versions of the OS. Instead, there is a "InstallHistory.plist" That file is a simple XML file listing (amongother items) the date, diaplyName, displayVersion, packageIdentifiers and processName for every installed app. All that data is in a <dict></dict> group. There's really nothing else in there and I may copy the current one and edit out the reference to the app I'm trying to re-download. At least that may indicate what the App Store looks at to decide what's "Installed" whether any scraps of the aps files are on the drive or not! If this works, I'll create a new thread about it as well as post back here.

Should I just upgrade or do a delete and fresh install?

Ok I have my copy of Leopard and I'm ready to install on my MacBook. Should I just do an upgrade, or backup my files and do a complete delete and fresh install of Leopard?

Having done a lot of reading on this issue at many forums and sites (like MacFixIt) before I tackled the upgrade, I found the following:
1) Do not do a default upgrade.
2) After people had a chance to test the upgrade paths once 10.5 came out, the majority of comments I read suggested the archive and install.
3) The erase and install was highly recommended at first, but after a few days, when the dust settled, this recommendation didn't appear as much.
My first machine, I did a bootable backup and then an erase and install. All went well until the migrate wizard started copying files from the backup - it couldn't successfully restore one user's files (and it turned out to be me, with admin rights), so I had to manually set myself up. Fortunately, this was a test machine, so the problem didn't bother me. For the two other macs I have, I did an archive and install, and in both cases everything worked perfectly. If you go this route, be sure to delete the "previous systems" folder once you are satisfied with the upgrade.

Delete and Reload Vs Create another table and rename to original

I have a set of summary tables which I have to delete and re-load on a daily basis. Before I take a decision to go ahead with it, I wanted to know if its better to create a new table with the up-to-date summary data and then rename the new table to the existing one. Deleting and reloading might cause the table to be empty for a while, but would there be any issue if i go with the re-naming approach.
Can I know the advantages and disadvantages of both

Partition Exchange is another technique that can be used effectively for this use case.
This technique uses the standard table that you are using now and a new partitioned table.
The partitioned table is a mirror (clone) of the standard and has just one partition (usually a MAX VALUES partition).
The process is as follows:
1. Assume your standard table already contains data and you are ready to replace all data with new data
2. Truncate and load the partition of the partitioned table - the standard table data is available during this process
3. Perform a partition exchange between the partitioned table and the standard table. This is a metadata (data dictionary) operation only and takes a mere fraction of a second. At the end of this operation the standard table now contains all of the data that you loaded into the partitioned table and the partitioned table contains the data that had previously been in the standard table. That is, the tables have 'exchanged' data.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 each time you need to load new data.
The partition exchange method allows the current data to be accessible at all times during the truncate and load of the new set of data. Then it becomes unavailable for the fraction of a second it takes to do the exchange. After the exchange it has the new data.
As far as I know this is the fastest way to load new data and make it available without downtime for the existing data.

Appreciate your help Ian and others. I have since uninstalled FCS and reinstalled FCXP only to get the same thing. Loading FCXP stalls at "Looking for Compressor Support". When I first downloaded FCXP from the App store I didn't notice that FCS was being placed in it's own folder. It's not something I did manually. Although moved into it's own folder with FCXP on the same drive. I was not able to open FCS apps. They would load and then "quit unexpectantly". They opened just fine before I downloaded FCXP. Do I need to purchase Compressor so that FCXP recognizes it? It seems this is where it stalls. It doesn't explain however why my computer "FREEZES" while doing this. I am in the process of re-installing Lion to see if this helps, otherwise I am at a complete loss.

But now, there is a processing circle on top of the logo, but the circle spins once, and stops at about halfway to the bottom. It just stays there, and about every half to one hour it becomes a white screen and starts all over again. (not the loading bar part, just the circle). I've tried holding the power and the home button, and it works, but it just goes back to the circle screen with the apple logo. HELP PLEASE?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Bad idea.
What information do you want to share, exactly? You can share contacts, reminders, and calendars with other iCloud users without the need for both of you to use the same iCloud account. You can authorize both phones to use apps purchased under the same Apple ID without sharing an iCloud account.
Sharing an iCloud account is a bad idea in general. There is too much opportunity for someone to damage or delete data that will affect both.
