Complete filenames?

Hello all,
I've searched the help and FAQs, to no avail. How do I get iTunes to use the complete names of the podcasts that it downloads?
For example:
I know the podcast filename to be:
11-03-05 Basic Brewing Radio - Yeast II.mp3
But iTunes wants to name it:
17 11-03-05 Basic Brewing Radio - Ye.mp3
Looking at the directory of these yields very little useful information. I have to fire up iTunes just to pick out the one podcast that I was searching for.
Any ideas?

Actually while this works, I have found, that for some unknown reason, the main left-hand column sometimes changes to a larger width and requires resetting. It's a random thing, not worth reporting as a bug, but still it happens.

Hi all,
I would like to retrieve the complete filename which is picked up by a sender file adapter. I need to know the exact filename during runtime in order to group some messages within an BPM process. No workaround (e.g. set up multiple file adapters) could be used. Do I have a chance to realize this with a module for the file adapter or maybe a dispachter class? If yes - how?

How to change complete filename PSE6

I would like to change both the path (folder) and filename of the images that have been indexed by the Organizer. One method is to remove the image from the organizer, move it, and bring it back in, but I believe that I will loose all the meta data.

Because this is a discussion specifically about version 6, I have a WARNING to add.
"To move individual photos from one folder to another, you can use the File > Move command. But beware that the PSE 6 Move command also has a serious bug – if you move a file to a folder that already has a file of the same name, the destination file gets permanently deleted. (That’s fixed in PSE 7.)"

The only workaround that I can identify for doing the move with the PSE 6 Organizer is to check each of the file names of the photos that you wish to Move against the existing file names in the destination folder BEFORE you do the move.
note: Back when PSE 6 was the current version, I did recreate this problem on a Windows XP system. As I recollect, there was an error message given by the PSE Organizer for the duplicate file. HOWEVER, the error message was TOO LATE because the photo file of same name already in the destination folder had been deleted and was NOT in the recycle bin.

How to fetch file from app. server without complete filename?

In my report I have to read data from txt file on application server.
My file name on App. server conatain system id and date and time stam.
my file path :- /User/IDD/S10009112007101525
here,'User' is dirctory
        'IDD' is folder in directory
        'S100' is system id
         '09112007' is date
         '101525' is time in hour,miniute,second format.
From my program I can only pass directory , Folder name,System Id,Date only. I don't have time value in my program.
So please tell me how to fetch files without having time stamp value from app. server.
Plz send me exact code.It's urgent.

Do you want to return the file to the user on click of button or something?
Then, use web_show_document with http link which you are speaking about.
Else download the file to client using Webutil.

Specify filename in OSB File Trasport Business Service

the default behavior allows me to specify the prefix and suffix only, is it possible to override and specify the complete filename?

FTP sender channel filename issue

I have created a sender FTP channel with Filename Smart_*.csv.
But channel is not picking files from FTP server, even not working for *.csv.
Although when I have mentioned the complete filename in channel, its picking the file from server.

[VB, CS3] How to place images using wildcards in filenames

Dear all,
Can anyone think of a way to place an image using a wildcard in the filename?
I can place the image fine if the complete filename is known, but what if the filename changes from day to day? - eg it could be House1234.tif for one document then House56r.tif for another. So I'd like to place House*.tif sort of thing. The files are in different folders, of which the path is known.
Any ideas?

Get the contents of the whole folder in an array, then you can check each item to see if it matches some criterium. In Javascript (VB should be similar):
function find_file (dir, mask)
   var f = Folder (dir).getFiles ('*.*');
   for (var i = 0; i < f.length; i++)
   if ( // compare f[i].name and mask here
      return f[i];
This returns the first file in "dir" that matches "mask".

Wrong filename with odt-files attachments

Hi,
i want to download an attachment called myfile.odt, but the navigator (i.e. and mozilla) only shows "name" without the extension. This only happens working with an expecific mail server (in the other mail servers this works ok).
If i use Microsoft outlook to open this attachment, this works ok and show "myfile.odt".
Debugging my source code it shows the correct filename and its extension.

i'm sorry for my explanation.
We display an existing email from a mail server in a browser with a link to download its attach file.
When user clicks the link, he invokes a servlet for getting the attach file and save it to disk.
The problem is the filename in this particular case (in other cases it works ok). I use
      res.setContentType(msg.getContentType());
      msg.getDataHandler().writeTo(sos);
      sos.flush();to return the attachment to the navigator, and i modify the header of the HttpServletResponse because i want the navigator download window shows the complete filename:

Search files which filename contains a speicific string

Hi
I'm lookng for a way to find all files in a directory which part of filename contains a specific string.
e.g.:
string = hello
files;
- 1hello2.txt
- 22he45.txt
- gehello42353.txt, ....
The result should be either an index or the complete filename that matches. In the example I'd found index 0 and 2, or 1hello2.txt and gehello42353.txt.
Actually I have the list of the files with the "recursive list.vi".
Any suggestions are welcome.

You can use List Folder - function with *hello* -pattern.
From there you get filenames, which include that specific pattern.
If you allready have list of files:
- use Scan string for tokens in a for loop and if token index != -1, then you can add that array index to the list.
I´m sure there are better ways to do this, but nothing I can come up with quickly.

Burning CDs/missing filenames

HI eveybody,
I downloaded oracle 10G for solaris on a windows machine and burn it on a CD,when insert the CD in Solaris 10 x86,it seems that the file names on the CDs it automount automatically are changed (you can only read the first 8 charaters of the filename)while if you put the cd back in windows it read the complete filename ??
is there a specific way to burn the cds for SOLARIS?or its just normal?

Well, you probably burned the CD with 8+3 length
filenames (meaning their names are 8 before and 3
after the dot), the reason to why you see the full
names in Windows is simply that the CD includes a
translation-table that maps the 8+3 names to the
original names.
Solaris doesn't use the translation table, so it
displays the files real name.
If you want to see the full names under Solaris, you
probably need to alter the way you burn your CD.
Does this make sense? If not i hope that someone who
is a bit more pedagogical can explain this.
.7/M.I have a CD made on a windows system which my Solaris 10 (11/06) Blade1000 does not display the long names, when it displays properly by default on my OS4 Amiga and OSX iBook. Example: Solaris (closew~1.too), Amiga (closewo.tool), iBook (closewo.tool)
If those operating systems can see the proper names by default, why cannot Solaris see them under ANY circumstances?

Hi,
Firstly you will need to place the file(s) in the AL11 path. Then in your infopackage in "Extraction" tab you need to select "Application Server" option. Then you need to specify the path as well as the exact file you want to load by using the browsing button.
If your file name keeps changing on a daily basis i.e. name_ddmmyyyy.csv, then in the Extraction tab you have the option to write an ABAP routine that generates the file name. Here you will need to append sy-datum to "name" and then append ".csv" to generate complete filename.

If you want to test whether the two files are the same, you can test for their complete filename (path + filename).
If you want to test whether the content of the two files are the same, you can convert the byteArrayOutputStream to Strings using .toString()method and test their equality. You can test for their size before the convertion to speed up the testing speed. E.g.

Problem installing a PKG file

I have a question and I'm not sure if the problem is imac related or Lion related, so I'm posting in both boards.
Quick background, I purchased the Sonnet Express Card/34 Thunderbolt Adapter and Tempo SATA Edge ExpressCard/34 to connect my Drobo S to my iMac at home. I was unable to download the driver from the included disc - nor was I allowed to download it from Sonnet's website.
When I click the installer .pkg file from my home computer, it's greyed out and gives an error message about a BOM being moved.
When I click the exact same file from my work computer, it launches just fine.
My specs are:
Home computer: imac i7, 3.4GHz, 16GB Ram, OSX 10.7.3
Work Computer: 2x2.4 Quad Core Intel Xeon, 6GB RAM, OSX 10.6.8
So, I'm obviously assuming it's a computer issue. But, I've never had any other issues installing at home. I'm attaching images of the differences for reference.
The correct install pkg icon is work computer - the white doc icon is at home.
Would there be a problem with the installer? If I downloaded the driver (.kext) file on my work computer, and put it on a thumb drive and took it home, and added it to my systems> extensions folder at home, would it work - or are there more things installed elsewhere that would make it not work?

I think that any file with a .pkg extension should normally show the "yellow box" icon, regardless of the file's contents. A non-custom icon comes from the application that a file is set to open with, which here should normally be Installer.app.
I would check to see if your system displays other .pkg files normally as the "yellow box." If you don't have a different .pkg file handy, you could download a small support .dmg from Apple and mount it, just to look at the icon on the contained .pkg (don't actually run it!)

If you don't see the yellow box icon, Get Info on the .pkg and make sure it is set to open with Installer.app.
If that looks OK, I would Get Info on the Sonnet .pkg file that you have at home, and make sure that "Name and Extension" shows the complete filename you expect, with .pkg as the true extension, and also that "Open with" is set to Installer.app

I have checked the link but it is showing the path for the current file. What I need is to open a Browse (Open) Dialog.... Select any file on the hard drive and after selecting that file it should display its complete path in the TextField control or any other control. Basically I want to put the hyperlink to the target file inside the pdf. I am not going to attach that file, I just need the link. For eg: 'E:\LiveCycle\ADBC.pdf' where ADBC.pdf is another file which I have targeted previously.
I hope you understand the problem. Is there any way to do that.
I have tried attachment method using. ImportDataObject but it is only giving the filename.
