Is there a complete manual for the 5800.
I don't mean the one supplied in the delivery box.
I like to get a more detailed manual
Is there one?

Chinese Language for Nokia 5800 Express Music

I have recently updated my nokia software version from V21.0.025 to V31.0.101 using the nokia software updater. However i notice that my Chinese, Malay & Indonesia languages have all dissapeared.
Can anybody help me please.

Looks like you bought a phone that was meant for another region and the language pack containing Chinese was installed afterwards by the retailer. The retailer should have told you this. When you updated the firmware, the phone reverted back to its original language set. Worst of all, the warranty may not be valid in your country.
Anyway, language packs can only be installed by Nokia Care Points and you will lose it again the next time you update your firmware.

Things I found are missing in nokia 5800 Express M...

Tsup guys, I`m having this new release of nokia s60 5th edition (Nokia 5800 Express Music) but since I bought it last month I`ve started discover some features are not working as I always used to see them to my previous handset (Nokia n73-1). At my previous nokia n73 when I`m on playing music that I`ve store in my handset and then the I receive the sms message its only makes a light beep sound even if I`m on profile that setted another alter tune for sms but in this nokia 5800 when sms comes in the middle of track playback its pause for a time from plyaing the song then start ring the current profile`s sms alter tune then keep on playing the track. On the side of adding sms recipients, if your forwading an sms to more than one person then you`ve started adding recipients by either searching or scrolling you might face some of the contacts doesn`t appear in your list after adding some others even if you do it by search contacts for typing the first alphabets of the recipients you are searching. So in order to get them you`ve to select OK then select the ADD RECIPIENTS again then you will find the contacts that were not seen before. Lastly, on the message writing. When I use the HANDWRITING style, I can write my things well but still up to know I`ve not yet find the area where I can erase the words that I`ve wrotes. Instead I`m supposed to change the keyboard type so as I can get the erease key. Can anybody help me to locate where can I find the erease key when I`m in mode of HANDWRITING style that uses a given special touch-screen pencil. I`m using it which means I`II keep discover many more things that seems these nokia have lack in this model & if there is anybody else found something please don`t hesitate to contribute here too. New Firmware for Nokia 5800

hello. Nokia 523x and nokia c6 are getting firmware updates. it got some interesting new updates such as qt 4.7.3 and symbian anna browser. so it will also be possible for Nokia 5800 to receive a firmware update ?

5800 had received many updates, even more than the N97/N97mini. It is less likely that 5800 or any other S60v5 handeset would get an update with new features. Not sure 5230 and C6 got updated to Anna web browser, because Anna update is only for S3 devices and when devices like N8 and E7 are waiting for Anna it is nearly impossible that older devices has got that update. You can directly install Qt to your phone anyway by downloading files from http://developer.nokia.com.

It's not about old or not, it's about that productcode which is under your battery. Take a look here, and follow the instructions. If there is not an update available, you just have to wait.

Is there anymore updates for Nokia 5800 XM??

Hi, I would like to know if there is anymore firmware updates for Nokia 5800 XM after V52.0.007?
Can anyone provide me with the news?
I am a huge fan of Nokia and their Symbian platform.. But I am getting more and more disappointed with them.
I cannot use another OS. Cannot use new softwares. Very slow and low hardware and performances..
I was hoping to get a Symbian ^ 3 update for my 5800 but that is not possible... So I have decided to see the last firmware update for 5800 and see if its any good. Otherwise I'll simply throw it away and start using HD2.

There are rumors about a v60 coming out, but I quite doubt it... and even if it comes it will most likely be a failure...
Nokia has done so much stuff wrong latelly (even Symbian^3 devices are filled with bugs and issues) and doesn't commit into fix them before launching something new based on the old ones.
This angers the users and most likely drivens them away... Nokia was once one of the biggest (if not the biggest) name in smartphone industry... now ... iPhone, Android based and even the dieing Blackberry are way ahead of them ... only 'dumbphones' on Nokia worth some consideration...
If you think 5800 has issues then don't look at it's more expensive brother ... the N97... so much for a top of the line phone...
Nokia has the firmware so fragmented that makes Android look like an homogeneous mass of software...
Because how some companies work, I start a personal blacklist of devices/brands that will never buy.... Apple and Sony are on the top of that list, Nokia will soon join them :[
Well... true to be said, I have 2 old 'dumbphones' - one of them has a 3.2MP camera with OPTICAL zoom, while it has 6~7 years more than 5800 it beats it in screen quality, camera quality and build quality, it also cost half the value of it - that I would most likely return to once 5800 dies... because it will die...
5800xm on a blender ... will happen sooner than expected.... v51 is a failure as an update .... v52 just postponed its fate....

Flash 9 for nokia 5800?

does anyone knw if flash 9 will be availble for nokia 5800 in future updates? or is it just a hardware reason why it aint possible?

I'm guessing that the number of features that Flash Lite can support is indeed somewhat limited by the hardware.

IRC client for Nokia 5800

Can you tell me is there IRC client for Nokia 5800? Because i tried with jmirc, but it doesn't work fine.

mIRGGI works, but it's nowhere near as good as Wireless IRC is on S60v3. After countless attempts to get janole (creator of Wireless IRC, Gravity, Remote Professional, etc), it doesn't look like he's going to port WIRC to S60v5 for a while.
The best solution I could come up with is using PuTTy for S60v5 to connect to my SSH that has IRSSI. Works brilliantly, although lacks some important features like copy-paste.

You can't ! It's a Symbian^3 application, there was a beta version that worked at Beta Labs, but they pulled it on release of the N8, if you want intergration with several Social sites try Socially app, works well and gives on screen notifications as well as Contact and Calendar intergration !

So I was browsing Talkonaut's site and I saw this note about the SIP portion:

Seems that the firmware V 20.0.012 for Nokia 5800 was released ages ago but its still not availabe for Indian users.
I have Product Code 0575586, Blue one.
