Complete Removal of Stream Configuration in 9.2

Could any one send me the script for complete removal of streams configuration in oracle 9i database. I faces a lot of error while creating stream configuration.

Agree with Willard Martin. If you want to a DAG member, you need to remove database copies first, then you can remove the Mailbox Server from the DAG.

    Maybe there's a way to do this with Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) runInstaller. We ran into the same issue with completely removing plugins and this command satisfied our needs.
    I have not tried this yet personally.

  • Database service name changed after streams configuration

    Hi All,
    I test setting streams replication in my database 10g from a stand-alone database to a RAC database.
    Replication worked fine but i sow strange thing, my service names in the target database (RAC environment) has changed like the following output:
    SQL> sho parameter service
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    service_names string SYS$STRMADMIN.STREAMS_QUEUE.AB
    DATAWH
    So the value of my service names has changed, i don't know why. I tried to remove streams configuration and restart the database but it's not changed and it cause connexion problem from client.
    Does anybody can help me to solve this problem, why it's changing and how to take it back to the old service names.

    I would remove Reader and repair or reinstall Acrobat.
    Having different major versions can cause some users issues. Reader is not necessary if one has Acrobat installed. Even though Adobe has improved the capability of having both Reader and Acrobat with the same major version level there are still user configurations that have problems with this setup.

  • ASM COMPLETE REMOVAL

    Hi Gurus,
    This is my first attempt in RAC installation. I have finished CRS and Oracle Software installations successfully in both nodes. Now I am configuring ASM before database creation.
    I use DBCA for ASM creation. Unfortunately, this is an unsuccessful attempt of ASM creation. So I need to configure again. BUT I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO MAKE A COMPLETE REMOVAL OF THE ASM FILES AND ENTRIES before making a re-install.
    I removed the ASM pfile & others from ~/dbs/ and ~/db_1/admin locations. I used ps -ef|grep asm to remove the asm processes, I removed oratab entry of ASM but still when configuring again, Oracle detects the old instance and asks if it should recreate it. If given yes and make some asm entries, then a new little window goes on running saying that "ASM Disk Group Creation...." It is running for 2 hours now.
    I like to remove the old ASM completely and make a really fresh install.
    Please guide me Gurus...
    For information, the Oracle version is 10.2.0.1 and platform is OEL5.

    I am glad that you replied my question. Currently, my situation is that I have completely removed this nasty incomplete ASM. But I could never make a complete RAC ASM install in these two days. My current problem is that:
    All raw disks detected for the diskgroup. Both available nodes are detected by dbca. But this dirty dbca window keeps on running for 3 hours saying that "Asm Disk Group Creation....". But, so far no completion. In fact I am getting same thing in my last 3 or 4 attempts. If it says some errors I will be at least happy and satisfied and move on ahead recovering the error. But this says nothing and keeps on running. What could be the culprit behind it.?
    This is a test environment and not 10g mandatory. But still, I want to complete it anyway.
    Now I have given up my mind 99% and thinking to create a rac-ASM manually. But I don't know how to do it. I need to google it or let me know if you have any link for doing this.

    There's not much sense in purchasing a Mac to run only Windows on it.  Keep in mind that drivers for Windows are a secondary concern for Apple.  While Windows will typicall run fine, things like power managment are not optimized under Windows (you'll get less time on battery while running Windows).  You will also not be able to install firmware updates.  Firmware updates might be necessary whether you run Windows or OS X as they are updates to the code in your hardware and are not OS-specific.  You must be running OS X in order to install a firmware update.  You can do this even if you boot off of an external drive with OS X installed on it.  At the very least, you should keep just a small partition for OS X on your internal drive.

    Not sure what you mean. You cannot remove the headers from the messages themselves. If what you want is them to not show up so that they don’t take up space on the screen, choose None in Preferences > Viewing > Show header detail.

    Just go into Control panel and Uninstall programs. Select Safari and select uninstall.

    How can I completely remove an old non-functional McAfee virus protection app from my MacBook Pro?  It seems that a ghost of it still appears at the top of the screen on the upper menu bar. I'm thinking that there may be other (hidden) components that could safely be removed too.

    There should be an uninstaller in the Applications folder. However, if McAfee was removed improperly, by simply putting all the McAfee apps in the trash, then it may be gone. In that case, you have two options:
    First, log in as an admin user (if you aren't already using an admin user account) and try executing the following command in the Terminal:
    /usr/local/McAfee/uninstallMSC
    There is a hidden Unix shell script there that will uninstall components of McAfee. When it runs, it will ask you for your account password. When you type it, nothing will appear in the window... that is normal, just type it anyway and press return.
    If the Terminal complains with an error message saying "No such file or directory" that means this script is no longer present. In this case, you will need to try reinstalling McAfee, then remove it using the newly-installed uninstaller, found in the Applications folder.

    Hi Mihail,
    When you delete your installation files (like through Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel, or if you use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility), your song files should be saved.
    As long as you don't delete the folder called "iTunes Music" (which is inside another folder above that, called "iTunes"), then your songs will be fine.
    By default, I believe iTunes saves its library in your My Documents/My Music folder, although it may be stored elsewhere. You can always go to the "Start" menu on your computer, and chose "Search" to search for your "itunes music" folder.
    Regardless, the installation files/folders are separate from your iTunes library files, so they should be safe.
