Completed download, only 2 secs of music

My download was interrupted, and it shows the song as downloaded, but only plays 2 seconds of music. I do not want to pay another .99. What can I do?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

How do i get itunes to download ONLY my purchased music, not movies or tv shows or anything else on my windows machine?

Today, I had to retire my Macbook 17" Pro because it would not do wireless internet anymore. It is now an expensive dust-gatherer in my storage closet. I had all my music and movies and tv shows on there, but I wasn't all that worried, the movies and tv shows I'll probably never watch again, but the music was another matter - music that I purchased via iTunes.
"Not to worry," I thought,"It's all in the cloud."
And so it was. But the problem is that iTunes on my Windows 7 desktop insists on downloading all my 150GB of movies and tv shows that I don't want on there. I want ONLY the music that I purchased. Yes, the Windows 7 desktop is authorized, just to get that little matter out of the way. But I can see nowhere in Edit -> Preferences where I can actually set it NOT to download movies or tv shows, but to allow music to download. Are there any workarounds for this?
I'd love to just be able to go back to my Macbook Pro, but I have to wait until I hear word from Cupertino that they have not only acknowledged the general problem with Macbook Pro's wireless, but actually have a fix for it. Sorry, if I sound abrasive, but when something is supposed to "just work" and it doesn't, it does get a bit disconcerting.

VPP Redemption URLs not prompting download, only opening the Music Store

Hi. I purchased a number of apps using he VPP, and when I click the redemption URL in an email from my iPad, the only thing that happens is my Music Store opens up. Why is this happening?
Also, why when I'm automatically logged into the VPP and I click my email to check my account info and am asked to type in my creditials does clicking "Account Info" not work? The page just instantaneously reloads exactly the same way.
Similarly, for the second time in my less than 1 week of having a VPP account, when I go to make a purchase, i get the error:
"We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later."
Does this happen often...? I'm not very happy with the VPP at the moment.

Contact your Apple sales education sales rep. I have not had problems with the VPP recently, and only a few short lived isolated incidences in over a year. When you click on a redemption URL on your iPad the store should open and window with the redeem code should appear, along with a prompt to enter your apple id credentials.

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes

You must "Add" the tracks to your library. Select Add to Library from iTunes' File menu. Select your downloaded track(s) then click on the Open button in the file dialog. Once added to the library you can select and sync them in the Music configuration tab in the iTunes main window for your device.

When you go under the Movie option in your Library, you will see separate tabs for "Rented", "Unwatched", "Movies", 'Genres", "Home Videos", and "List".
Click on the "Rented" one to see the Rentals that you have waiting to be watched.

So it appears iCloud/iTunes Match isn't the issue - the error message would seem to be complaining about where the music is being downloaded to. So with this in mind:
In iTunes select Preferences and select Advanced. The iTunes media folder should be set to /Users/<your account>/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music. <your account> would be whatever your user account is. If you see something else there I'd guessing it is a folder you don't have permission to write to.

is there any way (natively, or by using an extension) to clear ONLY the COMPLETED downloads when a button is clicked in firefox. it should not clear the paused, failed or cancelled downloads. - similar to the functionality in INTERNET DOWNLOAD MANAGER software by TONEC. i have searched lots but could not find such a function. :(

Along the lines of cor-el's last post, if you want to delete most of the downloads, you can select the entire list using Ctrl+a then Ctrl+click the ones you want to exclude from the selection.
In some cases, Firefox supports "places queries" to drill down on specific kinds of history. However, I didn't see one for downloads documented in the MDN article, so I'm not sure whether there is a way to query just for successfully completed downloads.

When you say that the orientation lock doesn't work, we have no way of knowing if that means that the screen is locked in one position only, or that it will not lock in one position only. So try something g very basi and reboot your iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
In the camera app, you have to swipe up and down on the screen to move between photo, video and the square photo mode options, so are you even in the correct mode to take videos?

You may want to consider deleting and redownloading the affected songs from the iTunes Store.
