"Completely delete data target content" setting in InfoPackage

Gurus,
In a Infopackage to load a cube that has 2 sources- Source 1 and source 2,there is a setting
"Completely delete data target content" under datatargets.
The InfoPackage is for loading data from source 1. Does this mean that the setting "Completely delete data target content" deletes just the requests related to source 1 from the cube or all the requests in the cue before making any other load.
Please advice.

This is content from help regarding this feature and it says that entire content of cube will be deleted.

Use
With every load process before updating the data in an InfoCube, you can delete the entire content of this InfoCube. Mark field Delete entire InfoCube content for this.
If you are using the InfoPackage in a process chein, the setting is hidden in the scheduler, since it is represented in the Process Chain Maintenance through its own process type and is maintained there.

Unable to delete data target contents of Write-Optimized DSO in Process Chain

Hi Experts,
We are using SAP Net Weaver BW 7.01 version and we need to delete the entire data target contents of Write-Optimized DSO in the process chain before the next data load.
I included this step in process chain but still it is failing with errore message"Message not found (in main memory), Drop Cube Failed In Data Target"
This process type is working during BW 7.0 version but not in BW 7.01 version.
However i found that we can use the program RSSM_DELETE_WO_DSO_REQUESTS to delete old requests in the Write-Optimized DSO for BW 7.01 SP07 as per SAP Note 1437407 but still it's not working even after implementing this program as the Prerequisite to delete the request is the data mart status should be updated where it is not happening for the program.
We had an process type option to 'delete the requests from Write-Optimized DSO' directly in BW 7.3 but still not available in 7.01 version.
Could you please suggest me on how to resolve this issue in BW 7.01?

Create ABAP program as attached code.
Then you can use that ABAP program in process chains through ABAP variant
ABAP varaint should have following properties
Select call mode as Synchronous; call from Local; and Program
Give your ABAP program name in "program name" and create one program variant for each write optimized DSO.
Please refer how to use ABAP program in process chains for further details.

hi,
when do we go for delete overlapping requests? if it is applicable for full load as well as delta load then i would like to first come up with the full load concept, we have the other option called delete data target contents with this we can delete daily full load without going for delete overlapping requests.
Pls let me know exact difference between DELETE OVERLAPPING REQUESTS FROM INFOCUBE with DELETE DATA TARGET CONTENTS.

When you have delta upload twice daily..the date in the previous request and the second request is same....so you might be giving this option to delete the overlap such that data is not loaded twice

Data target error when opening InfoPackage (not loadable)

Hi,
I have transported my objects from the development environment to QA environment, but now when I try to open one specific InfoPackage (in QA) to schedule a data load to an DSO, I receive the following error:
Data target 'P_USUARIO ' removed from list of loadable targets; not loadable RSM 33
Data target 'P_USUARIO ' is not active or is incorrect; no loading allowed RSM 36
I tried to run RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL program before realizing that it is not relevant in NW04s and I tried to transport many times again this specific data target with no success.
Any suggestion??

Hi:
The program you ran is for Transfer Structure.
The error you are gettign is for an Inactive Update Rule.
If the infopackage is loading several data targets and an update rule is inactive, then, you have take off laoding to that Update Rule in Infopackage.
First, see which Update Rule is Inactive. Look in all the tabs of infopackage and you will find it.

Viewing of data target contents

Hi,
If i go to the Info object definition which is declared as a data target (MAster Data) i can see No of Info Objects (40) defined as a attributes .
Right Click ODS select manage for context menu and go to content tab there also i can see all the info objects.
But when i execute to check the data that has been loaded i can't see any columns for 4 info objects which are in contents list.
How can i correct this

Go to transaction
LISTCUBE.
Give the name of your ODS.
DONT select Display SID.
Execute.
Here, you will see ALL Key Figures.
All Main CHaracteristics.
All Keys.
You will also see the Navigational Attributes that are selected (ON) in ODS.
THen, go to button called Field Selection for Output.
Here, select wjat you want to see in Report.
Hit Execute. Hit ececute again.
You will see what you need to see.

Deletion of data target contents

Hi Experts,
Could any one help me out in the folloeing.
I have an ODS which is updating from R/3, which needs to delete contents before updating on daily basis and replace with new request.
From few days this process is continuously giving failure and its saying that " DROP CUBE IS FAILED".
Please let me know the resultions or sugessions to avoid this occurance.

Printing directly to spool, how to set deletion date?

I am printing data directly to the spool using the code below, and everything works fine, except that I cannot control the deletion date. I want my spool entry to stay in the system for one week and then it should be deleted automatically, using the date in field RQDELDATE ("Deleted on") in the spool entry.
I have tried different values for the parameter LIFETIME, but it makes no difference. My delete date is always set to "2100-01-01"...
Any ideas?

Harikrishna, not true in my case, as I have much older spool requests that were not deleted.

Delete similar request option in the infopackage

Hello BW Experts,
I have to load Period 01 many times a month. each it loads to the cube it has to delete the similar request from the cube. Where can i do this setting in the infopackage.

You can do this on the Data Targets tab in the InfoPackage > third columns from the right (Automatic Deletion of Similar Requests > Click this and select Delete Existing Requests > Same or more comprehensive

Delete data and then full laod

BW experts,
If I am uploading a cube from a ODS with full updates, How can i delete the contents of the cube before the load, and then execute a full load. I know this can be done with the process chain, but what is the way without the process chain?

Deleting Data from Infocube before loading

We are doing full loads by "Plan Version" into our CCA cube. We do these full loads each night. Eventually a "Plan Version" will stop changing and we can discontinue loading.
My question is there a way we can delete data in the cube by "Plan Version" before the new request is loaded. Right now it deletes overlapping request after the load but this is inefficient.
We would like to delete the data before we load.
We are doing this using a process chain in order to drop indexs first then reload and update statistics.

You can do full replacement load of your plan data by changing your plan data load infopackage which persumably have the selection to load plan data i.e. 0vtype 20-90.
In the Data target tab of the infopackage, select the update data target for the cube(s) in question and click on the automatic loading of identical/similar requests from the infocube (the column to the right of the pencil) and click on delete existing requests button and tick
a) full or initial data load and selection are the same or more comprehensive. I typically like to tick also the
boxes for infosources are the same, datasources are the same and source system are the same.
This will load the infopackage as you normally do and after that immediately delete any same or encompassed requests. i.e. if current value type selection is 20-90, it would delete a request for 20 as well as a value type for 40 and one for 50...

List of data targets is not visible during data upload

Hi all,
I am trying to load user defined transactional data into an info object, i will do all necessary customization steps such as creating application component,assiging data sources,creating info packages and then creating update rules in info cubes, moreover i wrote a routine which calculates sales reveune based on cost and quantity sold.
My problem is that when i created infopackage , it does not list any data targets, Plz any one can give tips in this regard.

Am a little confused here... you say you want to load Transaction data and load it into the InfoObject?? what was that??
You can load the Transaction data only into your data targets such as InfoCube and DataStore Objects... If you are loading the data into your InfoObjects, then that would mean that you are loading the Master data for which obviously you won't have your data targets listed in your InfoPackage... Only in case of loading the transaction data would you have your Data Targets listed in your InfoPackage...

This issue only exists in Production system not QTY or development thr Cube deletion is working fine.
So far I have tried Deleting Index's and then deleting the Cube Contents & Run Elementary Checks from RSRV but not find any lead yet.Also unable to find appropriate notes for this issue aswell I am using SAP_Bw comp 700 with SP26.

Any recent upgrades or system refresh done?
In recent update just from SP24 to SP26 was updated and a DB stats Referesh was carried on.But this proublem existed before these activities.
Except deleting can you able to perform all other operations like loading data..etc?
Other than deletion I am able to do load data into cube extract from R3 and also i can delete data from PSA.Only deletion giving dump.
You are trying to delete transactional or master data.
I am tring for transaction data.
WHen I try to delete request by request it also lead to the same short dump.
@ arvind : I checked Sm12 there i see not table which has been locked.

Went to "setting" deleted data from "music" to make more space (I don't use iCloud). When I open "Music", the list is still there but there is no content/the actual songs. How can it back to a clean slate? "Setting" shows "Music" has no data.

Wanted to change my playlists and music, so went to >settings>music>delete data. So now, within the usage menu, the "music" shows "no data". But, when I open the Music app, it still shows the list of music that was supposedly deleted. And the weird thing is, it is only the list. There is no content. No actual music. How do I get rid of this lists and get it to a clean slate???

Set up table data extracted from R/3 not visible in data target of BW

Hai friends,
         I am currently working on extracting data from R/3 to BW. I read the several docs given in the forum and did the following:
1) In the LBWE transaction, my extract structure is already active.
2) In SBIW, i went to the filling of set up tables for QM
3) I executed the set up table extraction
4) Then, i checked in RSA3. The extraction was successful.
5) In BW, i replicated the datasource, and in the infopackage, i selected in the
      PROCESSING TAB, "PSA and then into Data targets (Package by Package)
6) In UPDATE tab, i selected FULL UPDATE
7) And then i did immediate load.
8) In RSMO, it showed successful. (It showed the same number of records as in the
      RSA3 of R/3)
          But when i went into the data target (ODS) and checked for its contents, nothing is visible. Why is it so? HAve i skipped any step? Please help.

       U r rite. It is an NW2004 system.This is what is displayed in the status tab in RSMO.
