Completely Messed Up

I bought my ipod off of ebay about a month ago. It worked fine for a few weeks then started to freeze every once in a while. It's a 20 gb black and white screen 4th gen. I turned it on one day and it had no songs, yet it said there was only 1.5 gb left. I reset it and reinstalled all the software but it still has the sad ipod icon when i try to turn it on. When I plug it into my computer it has the "don not disconnect" screen but it doesn't show up anywhere on my computer. I've went through the r's countless times but nothing works.

hey, ive gotta problem. when i listen to my songs on iTunes, not the store, but my library, they are fine. when i listen on my iPod, they are completely messed up! what i mean is that when played on my ipod, the beat (or rest of music besides the lyrics) is louder than normal, and i can barely hear the lyrics. whats going on and how do i fix it?

Please set the EQ setting on you iPod to "flat". It does not help, please restore your iPod to factory settings

Why do I keep getting problems with Apple not recognizing my email password? This suddenly started and just reminds me of the mess that mobileme was. Calendar dev also is not working. What a complete mess!

Can't access my email - endless messages saying password is wrong, which it is not. Mobileme all over again. I now need to forward all Apple mail to GMail, which is how an email system should work. Same is true with the calendar - a complete mess on the integration with my Google calendar.
This is really, really a pain!!

OK this is Cormacin Texas - these idiots have put me through the hoops, effectively locking me out of the support forum. Anyway I've solved the problem - it took 3.5 hours, involved a trip to the Genius bar at the local Apple store, and one and a half hours escalating through the dial-in help support - which was about the only thing the Genius was good for.
What you need to know is:
1. Apple are having problems with their servers, but have not published the fact - we've all wasted a lot of time because these guys want to keep their Customer Sat scores high, I guess. (I'm starting to feel like one of their Chinese factory workers!)
2. This server problem is compounded by the fact that it only affects a few random servers
3. It in turn can lead to problems sending emails which require you to change your Apple Mail password, and in my case surgically remove bad records for various hidden email and library folders. (Good luck with that!)
So, a problem that they hide, a knock-on set of work that the problem indirectly causes, which they also hide, and a support structure that is geared for hardware, not the services that they are now selling.
My suggestion is to change your mail password using the web (icloud.com) access to Mail and see if that works. After that, remove and reset up your Apple email (Preferences) and pray that you don't have to join endless telephone answering lines where some of the folks will cut you off because they can't be arsed.
The two guys that finally helped me were brilliant, knew their stuff and could not have done a better job. The key guy was Danny - if you get him, your golden!

I think you should just rebuild your library.
Clear it out, then drag all the song files back in. You'll lose your ratings and playcounts, etc but I don't see what else you can do.

You have a hardware problem. It is probably the hard drive is either to full, not enough free space, or it is starting to fail.
If you have an external drive connec that to the system and use the Recovery HD, Command + r keys at startup, to install a clean fresh copy of OS X Lion on the external then run the system from that. It will be slower but if you don't get the beachball then that is the sign your internal drive is on its way out or is filled up with files and not enough free space.

Why does new pages export a document to Word format as a complete mess?! It is impossible to work with such crap!

U510 Boot Completely Messed Up

So my u510 was originally installed with Win8, and I wanted to dual boot Ubuntu alongside it, so I shrinked the existing windows volumes slightly in order to make room for the new partition, but in the process of installing I may have royally screwed myself over somehow.
When I boot up the laptop, the Lenovo logo appears for a short while (can't go into BIOS/BootMenu anymore), then the screen just has a blinking "_" at the top left corner and is unresponsive to any sort of input.
In hindsight, I probably should have done this while I wasn't half asleep, as now I don't remember what exactly I was doing anymore. Any idea what I can do to fix this? I'm pretty sure a majority of my data is there, I've just completely messed up one or some of the partitions, as my windows partition was working fine until i restarted and started getting these errors.

Keychains are Completely Messed Up

Hey there all. So, my friends computer's keychains are completely messed up, and it is the System keychain. 3 months ago it was the login keychain. I, at this point, think that we should just redownload Mavericks and run the installation like a upgrade. Would that fix it, or would something else?

Try Keychain First Aid first. If that doesn't work, you can reset Keychain completely: Resetting your keychain in Mac OS X
(Resetting a keychain sets aside the original default keychain file and creates a new one.)

View of my device is completely messed up

Ever since I upgraded to iTunes 10, the screen under "devices" that shows what's on my iPhone is completely messed up. The main screen shows headings for "iPhone," "Version" and "Options," but each of those sections is blank. Also, there are no tabs for music, movies, apps, etc. It's all gone. Any suggestions on how to get it back?

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

Skype is completely messed up

OK so today I was just skyping with some friends. I decide to group call them, then I realize I can't hang up, so I'm like, maybe it's just bugged, I'll just end process and relogin. However, when I tried to relogin, the dialogue box stated that I already had skype open. Then I ended all skype processes, logged in again, and for some reason, everything was completely messed up. The friends I was skyping earlier don't appear under my contacts (skype wants me to share contact information), when I send messages, they are pending, I can't change my status, and when I call, they can't pick up and I can't hang up. Ended task again, couldn't log in since apparently I had skype open.
Looking online on the forums, I found this:
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata%, press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Restart Skype.
Tried it, I logged in, same process. Can't send messages, friends don't appear as contacts, etc.
Reinstalled skype, same problem.
Reverted back to the un-updated skype, same thing occurs.
Both versions of the Windows 8 skype are messed up (the one in store and the desktop version)
Mobile version works fine.

Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool.
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.

First thought: Have you used the same Apple ID for all the purchases you're talking about? If not, that could cause an issue.
Assuming you've used the same Apple ID all the way through everything you're talking about, here's the second set of questions:
When you say you can't play the songs from the iPhone playlist, can you see the playlist on the iPhone? Is the song visible in the playlist? Is it visible under "Songs" in iTunes on your iPhone? Is it visible in "Albums" on your iPhone? Is the song in iCloud?

Itunes completely messed up...

i tried searching through threads to find this but no luck, so hopefully somewhere can answer or help me here.
im having a MESS load of problems with my itunes since i reformatted my computer. i reinstalled the newest version many times, updated my ipod many times but still nothing...
either i open my itunes and it completely Freezes and i have to exit the program. or i get it to load fine, but its not recognizing my ipod...so i will restart my computer untill it recognizes the ipod..
once i get it to recognize my ipod, my itunes either A) freezes as soon as i try to update my ipod or B) says Updating Ipod...but only flashes the update really quick, and doesnt update anything onto my ipod..
ive never heard of people having this many problems, i really dont know what else to do

Hey try this:
Turn Norton 2005's Personal Firewall OFF, (turn it OFF Permanently until your ready to turn it back on) then click CONFIGURE.
Under the PROGRAMS tab remove any reference to Apple iTunes or iTunes or iTunes Helper Module or anything related. and reboot.
After coming back go back to Norton 2005's Personal Firewall, click CONFIGURE. Under the PROGRAMS tab click ADD at the bottom, a SELECT A PROGRAM
window will pop up. Add the following files one at a time, iTunes.exe, iTunesHelper.exe, QuickTimePlayer.exe, qttask.exe, QTInfo.exe. The last 3 are found
in your Quicktime folder where that is in your system. Click OK. Turn Norton 2005's Personal Firewall ON, and try starting iTunes again.
This worked for me. It seems the Quicktime files were never automatically entered into my Norton 2005's Personal Firewall allowable programs listing. Adding them
manually should help. I also noticed that from my previous version of iTunes the program listed in the Firewall was named Apple iTunes and not iTunes after I upgraded to 6.
Let me know if this works out.

[SOLVED] Gnome 3 is completely messed graphically

I already searched for a similar problem in the forum but I was not able to find any.
Here is the context : my workstation is completely up to date and is installed with Gnome 3 and systemd (no wild initscripts in legacy mode). My configuration is most of all the defaults. My wallpaper was picked in those bundled with Gnome 3 installation, and the only settings changed are details like behavior when closing the lid and timeouts for hibernation and screen shutdown.
I've got a lot of mess since the last update of Gnome 3. My first though was "the next update will fix it" but this so expected next update did not come in weeks. The symptoms are as follows : when I have a windowed application (I mean, not in fullscreen), the background is plain white, harmful for the eyes. If I try to move or resize the window, the old one remains printed on the background, as if only the window was refreshing. The whole thing is blinking. It is the same when I close a fullscreen window : it stays printed on the background. If there is other windows, they get a weird black or dark blue (it depends, but I dont know on what it depends) thick border (about 10, 15 pixels). At some time, the wallpaper turns black and shows my desktop icons (which I dont care since I dont want any icon, the previous behavior was fine for me). When I shutdown the session or the computer, the wallpaper turns blue (juste like a BSOD ) and the Gnome menus are blurry and interlaced with some of that blue.
I dont have any crash though, and no problem when staying fullscreen in a single application. I loved Gnome 3 so far and it works perfectly well in the previous version. But I may need to switch for something else if I cant find a fix . Any help will be welcome. Deep thanks by advance.

Okay, you gonna kill me, I just found out the problem. I was using lxdm instead of gdm because gdm was buggy. I switched back to gdm and everything seems fine. Hope this can help someone someday. I guess writing it down helped me to find it.

Colors In Photoshop CS6 completely messed up

My colors are completely off in photoshop from the real image. I've already checked to make sure it's not the monitor, the color is fine there. I've already read the forums that say to simply turn on "Proof Colors." That does changes the colors how they should be. HOWEVER, if I try and export the file out as a png or anything, they are exported with the messed up color rather than the "proof colors." BUT if I open the image up in microsoft paint, it appears to be right, but only with paint. If I open the image with anything else (reader, indesign, picaso, etc.), the color is always messed up. I even tried exporting the png to someone else thinking it was just my computer, no luck. For some reason, I can't export anything without it using crazy colors (just like if "proof colors" was unchecked). I've tried deleting preferance and playing around with the color settings. What can I do?

I figured it out in case anyone runs into the same problem. It was actually a problem with matching up the colors on my monitor. I had to go through the settings on my computer and change them. It was in my windows configuration.
