Completely remove all traces of Photoshop CS3 Extended

I have recently installed Photoshop CS3 Extended but there was a problem with the serial number on the box. Adobe have issued me a new serial number to use. I uninstalled it all but when i reinstalled it, the original serial number is still there. How do i completely remove all traces of Photoshop CS3 Extended from my computer so that i can reinstall it with my new serial number? This is a full retail version used on a Windows XP system. Many thanks.

don't forget to read the instructions! :)
on that page you'll find this note:
>Start out at Level 2 and advance to Level 3 only if you still have issues installing your CS3 applications. Running this script removes shared components created during the installation of CS3 applications.
>Note: Level 3 is a hidden option and thus is not listed in the main interface. To access Level 3 just type "3"( without quotes) when prompted for the level.

  • Second-hand MacBook - How to completely remove all traces of previous owner (inc. Apple ID) & start as clean as possible, while retaining factory software?

    Hey guys,
New to the forum and after a bit of advice.
Have just picked up my first MacBook from a friend and am wanting to start as clean/close to factory as possible, removing all traces of their Apple ID and Account info.
Have read a few posts and it seems that my MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) came pre-installed with Snow Leopard (10.6.3/10.6.4).
In Linc Davis post here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5350317
he says that "If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the gray installation discs that came with it. If you don't have the discs, order replacements from Apple."
My friend is adamant that he received no software with the purchase from new. Everything came pre-loaded.
So I've downloaded OS X Mavericks and created a bootable USB installer. If I do a clean install using this method, will that remove all traces of the previous owner (Apple ID and account info), allowing me to start as clean as possible while still giving me access to the original pre-loaded software that came with the MacBook from new? Once installed, can I then just add my own Apple ID and perform any updates to this software as normal?
Since I don't think it shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, I will be unable to boot into Internet Recovery to try and restore if necessary, before upgrading to Mavericks.
Thanks for any help. Hopefully it's not as complicated as it sounds!

    Yes and Yes
OK, so I'd still have access to iPhoto etc., even though all purchases would still be linked with friends Apple ID?
I don't quite understand how this works..
If I do a clean install, and my new Apple ID has no history behind it, how does it know what software was paid for/pre-installed if that account is no longer tied to this computer?

  • How to Completely remove all traces of an applicat...

Please i own a nokia E5 and there is this application named '2go' (.jar app) its kinda like an IM client. When i install it to my phone memory, it works... but aways gets stuck at the part where it loads my friends. But when i install it to my memory card, it works great the first time i open it. Then after i'm done using it, i close it.. Also takes long to close, so i just use the Red button... And when i ty to open it the second time, i get an application error. Please help me on a way to totally remove all traces of this app on my phone and memory card. Thank you!

You should be able to remove it as you would other applications: highlight the icon and press Options -> Remove. Another way would be to find the program in Control Panel -> Application Manager -> Installed Apps and remove it from there. My understanding is that Symbian Platform Security is very good at removing all parts of a program, unlike Windows uninstalls, for example. If it won't uninstall, post the details of what happened.

  • Can I completely remove all trace of updater?

Updater built into Reader (8&9), PSE and PRE cannot access the internet from my desktop machine, but can from my laptop. They both have the same installations from the same CD, and the same antivirus (Norton360). The firewall settings on both N360 and the Windows Internet security settings are identical on the two machines. This leads me to think there is something corrupt in my desktop. I have completely uninstalled all Adobe software removed folders (including Programmes/Common/adobe), cleaned the registry and done fresh installs, but still doesn't work. Support have been no use - they simply tell me to reinstall even though I have repeatedly told them I have and it doesn't work.
Does anyone know if there is a way to identify any other broken files that might be hiding away somewhere in my system. I have Win 7 64bit on both machines.

  • How to completely remove all traces of MSI driver?

After waiting for 4 weeks to see if the MSI 6800 Ultra was going to be available, I have given up.  I have removed my GeForce 5900 128M VTD and installed my new 6800GT, but I cannot remove the MSI Information and MSI Clock tabs from the Display Properties window.  I have already tried DriverCleaner, but the MSI tabs still remain.
Does anyone know how to remove them, short of a full system reformat and re-install?

Actually, that needs to be updated, it was written prior to the DOT implementation.
The files below are the ones that need to be deleted.
You can go directly to a command line (or use the run command)
    del \windows\msicpl.dll /s/f
    del \windows\msicpl.sys /s/f
    del \windows\winsys.exe /s/f (DOT Controller)
The /s and c:\ parts tell the del command to scan subdirectories (starting at the root of drive C) and delete--or try to delete-- files of a given name or type, wherever they might be on the hard drive.  The /f switch attempts to force deletion of read-only files.
Also...did you remove the drivers via the "Add Remove Programs" applet in the "Control Panel?" It should have removed them..
If you did, I need to know if the uninstall is working correctly. If not, then this the second or third time I've seen this but have yet to determine if the user ran the uninstallation as I have described. I have not had this particular problem with the DOT to the best of my recollection. I may need to forward this to my contact to see if they can duplicate the issue.

  • Cannot Activate Photoshop CS3 Extended???

    Hi,
I cannot activate my copy of Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended, after coming across a previous thread regarding this issue (Re: CS3 Retail Box. Key Won't Work) I contacted support but after 3 representatives they all claim to not be able to validate the keys (despite one still being in use on my wife's laptop!). I just want to deactivate the keys from the previous 2 PCs so I can install them on my newer machines, my old pc has been formatted without deactivation so I cannot do it myself and I am scared to deactivate the other copy as It seems I will not receive any support in reactivating it.
Here is a complete conversation with one of the 3 support representatives I have spoken to regarding this issue:
    Thank you for contacting Adobe.
A representative will be with you shortly.
    Thank you for your patience.
While you wait, you can try our community forums where experts are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You are now chatting with Vijet.
Vijet: Hello. Welcome to Adobe Technical Support.
mike stripling: Hi, I have here 2 keys for Adobe Photoshop CS3 extended edition which are telling me there is too many activations on them
Vijet: Hi Mike,In order to assist you in a better way can i have your Name your Email id and your Phone number please.
mike stripling: one of them was on a pc which has been formatted without deactivation and the other is on my wife's laptop which also needs deactivation as that will be formatted soon
mike stripling: Mike Stripling, [email protected] and I'm not sure which phone number it would be under
mike stripling: (it was registered 7 years ago)
mike stripling: I have spoken to two previous representatives who claim my keys are not valid yet after downloading cs3 from your website instead of installing from a disc it says for both keys that there are too many pcs using them at the moment
Vijet: Can you please provide me with the Serial Number for your Photoshop CS 3
    mike stripling: [removed] & [removed]
mike stripling: Your previous representatives claimed this did not show on their system
mike stripling: but when I put it in photoshop it claims there are too many pcs using those keys
mike stripling: I can screenshot this if necessary
Vijet: Sorry to say Mike but the Serial Number you are giving me are invalid one's.
mike stripling: No they are not.
mike stripling: Why else would I get a big green tick and a page showing 'too many activations'
Vijet: Please allow me a moment while I look into your account and see why are you having this issue.
    mike stripling: Ok.
mike stripling: I also found this support thread with your adobe staff responses on this issue which may be relevant: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1491813
mike stripling: "CS3 can not be activated any more as it is end of life product, you can contact Adobe Support at Adobe - Contact Support – Download and Installation to know how to proceed for it & know about the options if there are any. Regards Rajshree"
Vijet: The serial number you are giving me are not the valid one,i have looked into my resources.
    mike stripling: https://i.imgur.com/GRdHQmc.png
mike stripling: then why do I get this?
Vijet: May be Mike the Photoshop we are talking about is CS 2 not CS 3?
mike stripling: the screenshot I just linked is cs3 and the disc with the serial numbers, box etc all says adobe photoshop cs3 extended
Vijet: Because end of life of the product you are saying it's for CS 2 products not for the CS 3.
mike stripling: your staff post says cs3 as well
mike stripling: clearly stated in this thread https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1491813
Vijet: Allow me a minute let me look into it.
Vijet: From where did you purchased it?
mike stripling: It was years ago, but I believe amazon or something
mike stripling: I don't have the purchase order saved, who would save that for 7 years? :S
Vijet: Sorry to say Mike i wont be able to help you with this.

i am not an adobe employe and not an adobe spokesperson.
but my guess is it appears to adobe as if those keys have been 'hacked'.  ie, published somewhere publically, used by others and are now blacklisted.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended freezes on startup under Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit - No splash screen

I installed my licensed copy of Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended today as part of my install a bunch of software after a reinstall of Windows (due to viruses).  I did a completely fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.  I've used Photoshop CS3 Extended for quite a while now so I know what to expect on startup but it was previously installed under Windows XP Professional (32-bit). Figured I would give Windows 7 a chance this time around.
Google searches aren't turning up anything.  When I attempt to start the application, I get a window with the title "Adobe Photoshop CS3" (no "Extended" - I seem to recall the title changes later) and the toolbar appears.  However, no splash screen appears and no Product Activation wizard appears - the application simply freezes on an empty frame and a toolbar.  I've tried running Photoshop as Administrator (right-click, "Run As Administrator"), but nothing changed there.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling.  I tried upgrading to CS3 10.0.1.  Nothing works.  The application simply freezes before it gets anywhere.
I tried calling Adobe Support since this technically falls under installation issues but their phone support systems are down today.  Go figure.
Edit:  I hooked into Photoshop with the Visual Studio debugger and every single thread is executing some variation of WaitForSingleObject() or WaitForMultipleObjects().  The main thread is "executing" somewhere in AdobeLM_libFNP.dll (at address 09619d81 - if I had debugging symbols for CS3, I could provide a function).  There are nine threads "running" at the point the freeze occurs - but all of them are technically suspended due to the functions they are executing - and one thread is in a suspended state.

And, according to the Event Viewer, the "Binary" data translates to a zero-terminated Unicode string of "Cross-thread".
My Visual Studio analysis was far more informative.  All threads are hung inside of WaitForSingleObject() and WaitForMultipleObjects() calls and the DLL in question appears to be FlexNet-related.  I did forget to mention that I also even manually started the FlexNet service in case, for some strange reason, Photoshop was waiting for it to start.  That also did not work.
(And there is nothing in the Action Center control panel either despite the message saying there might be more information there.)
Edit:  The timestamp above might be a little odd-looking.  I didn't originally see anything in Event Viewer until I clicked the first button to send an Error Report.  Mostly I just skipped that part of killing a process.

  • Can't Login to SharePoint as an invited External User / Can't Remove All Traces of External User with Microsoft Account

    Hi TechNet,
I have an MS SharePoint Online (SharePoint Plan 2) team site, quite simple, one document library etc.
I have successfully added all users (E3) within the organisation to groups, and permissioned correctly.
I have added myself (separate organisation, also Office 365 E3) as an External User, and have access to the website without any problems by authenticating with my Organization account e-mail address.
I have a single user (separate organisation, also Office 365 E3), who's setup is identical to mine (Also Office 365 E3).
However, when this user is added as an External User, they are unable to login, and get "Sign In is not complete":
    That didn't work
We're sorry, but [email protected] can't be found in the CLIENT1.sharepoint.com directory. Please try again later, while we try to automatically fix this for you.

    User: [email protected]
    Issue Type: Partner User Invalid.
I then remove the user using the Site Collection, and using the PRofile Manager, and using Remove-SPOUser, and using Remove-SPOExternalUser. Which is great, he's gone. However when I go to add him back to a group, as soon as I type his e-mail address, it
'Resolves' into his full name! If I have completely(?) removed him form the site, how is he being resolved? And therefore me trying to remove him to re-add him to try and solve the user/directory/auth issue is not working.
Furthermore, upon clicking on said client's username inside SharePoint (after I've 'added him back' of course), his ID, in format: i:0#.f|membership|live.com#[email protected] has an entirely different e-mail address, his Microsoft Account!
I'm assuming he must have been already signed into his Microsoft Account when he clicked on the External User e-mail invite? If so, I clearly do not want this, how can I remove lal traces of his Microsoft Account, given that I have gone to the lengths as
    detailed above?
I have already completed these steps: http://community.office365.com/en-us/forums/148/p/228263/709905.aspx

    Regards,
    Evanly.

    Hi Scott,
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and respond to my issue.
Certainly, it makes sense that regardless of where the invitation it sent, the user would authenticate with their Microsoft ID.
In my case, I want the user to authenticate using their Microsoft Organisation ID, that they use for their seperate Office 365 account.
This is the way I was able to log in, and worked great. With my client, they are unable to access Sharepoint because once they sign in with their Microsoft Organisation / Office 365 ID, they are told they are not in the directory, because their Microsoft
ID is in the directory and it doesn't match up.
I am simultaneously trying to 1) Remove all traces of this users Microsoft ID, which so far using the above steps, has been unsuccessful; and 2) Invite the user using his Microsoft Organisation ID, and have him authenticate with that (which is proved to
work, as my account uses this).
Looking forward to any more suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Hi guys, I've recently downloaded Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended. When I select the trial period for 30 days instead of buying the product, it says that Adobe cannot continue and it's having trouble loading the trial. • Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended Activation Problem

Hi all, hoping someone can help me.
I have a legitimate hard copy of Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended which was only recently taken out of its sealed package.
On installing and trying to activate I get an error. Now i am left with a window telling me "Registration Unsuccessful"
Any ideas how i can go about solving this? I legally own this copy and I need to use it and can't do with it deactivating.
Thanks in advance for any help given. It's very much appreciated!

Mordynak I am sorry but I find no software titles registered under the Adobe ID/e-mail address you used to post to this forum.  From this discussion it sounds like you have already utilized the process listed in Find your serial number quickly.
Please contact our support team directly at Contact Customer Care.  If this link still fails then I would recommend utilizing a different web browser as the current add-ons, security settings, add-ons may be preventing a chat session from being made available to you.

After restarting computer the Flexnet  Licensing Service stops again and goes into Manual mode. This also happens after a few minutes without restarting.
I also downloaded the Flexnet Licensing Recovery Kit from Adobe Support but the file stops after saying  "please wait for a few moments.. ?"
I changed the setting as discribed for the Flexnt folder but the message continues to come up when PS Extended CS3 is launced.

What else is there to do. Please help me as what I can do so I can continue to use Photoshop CS3 Extended.
    Thank you

I downloaded the clean Script file and followed the instructions from what the Clean Script read Me file described.  The first step said to deactivate. Although I was not able to deactivate because of my original message, I followed the remaining steps.
After using the Clean Script and uninstalling Photoshop CS3 Extended and re-installing it I re-booted my computer. I also deleted the CS3 Application data files.
When I installed PS CS3 Extended the installer does not ask for the serial number on all attemps. I bought a registered copy of PS CS3 Extended. Is there another way to approch this licensing error.
    Thanks.

698 GB free on Drive D
465 GB free on drive E

All updates to Photoshop were installed last time I ran it with no problems.
No new hardware has been installed since.
Installed Classic Shell since last use, so I uninstalled it but the error persists.
Installed Diet Tracker but they don't interfere with each on on the system at home so I know there's no problem there.
Nothing else installed except Windows updates.
I tried restoring back to the last time I used it . . . still got the error, so undid the restore.
    I tried repairing Photoshop . . . no change.
I uninstalled Photoshop, rebooted, installed Photoshop. it loaded slower then and the last thing I saw load was plugins then something about Python and then the error again.
When I try to open the program, it goes so fast that I can't see what's loaded and where it stops now.
I searched for like problems . . . found one that they found was caused by a sound driver on an ASUS board but it was different.  I tried rolling back the sound driver anyway and it didn't fix it so  I updated it again.  There was a reference to check the Event Viewer which I know nothing about but I tried it anyway . . . found nothing.
Any help will be appreciated or if you know a way to debug the load or slow it down to see what it's trying to load please clue me in.  Thank you for any help.

O, OK . . . didn't solve the problem anyway.  I am sorry I can't figure this out on my own instead of taking up everyone else's time.  Downloading and installing 12.6
New driver installed but this did not resolve problem;  still getting the error message when trying to load the program
FIRST!!!  I want to thank everyone for your help . . .
While waiting for another idea, out of casual curiosity because I hate Win 7, I right clicked the ocn for PS and checked the list of options.  Since this was a reinstall, I clicked on the Troubleshoot Compatibility out of curiosity . . . got a choice to Try recommened settings or Troubleshoot programs;  I clicked on the 'Try recommended settings' . . . it came up with recommendation of XP Pro setting and I clicked on it and up came PS and installed some more stuff.
I am sure this can't be the right answer or it would have never worked in the original install, but it worked for the re-install and that gets me up and running for the time being . . . now to further test and make sure it's working right.

  • Photoshop CS3 Extended upgrade to CS5?

Tried asking the online chat to answer this simple question . . .  the person really didn't understand what I was asking.
So here it goes, the complex question of —
Will a regular CS5 upgrade work for a CS3 Photoshop Extended version or not?

    Mylenium,
It was purchased from a big box store the US (years ago) and has a sticker on it saying "Only for distribution in North America."
It is for use in America, and so is my SC3 Extended version currently installed on my computer.
Both versions are for the Mac OS.
The system requirements are not of importance since my computer meets them all. The upgrade box says nothing about "CS3 or up."
The only mention of an upgrade on the entire box is on the side stating — "UPGRADE from an relier version. To install this upgrade version, you must have an eligible earlier version of this product. Before opening this package, check with your reseller about its return policy and your upgrade eligibility, or visit www.adobe.com/go/upgradeinfo for eligibility information."
So, here I am, trying a webpage that doesn't exist anymore and trying to find answers here . . . . .
Will this normal, regular, run-of-the-mill CS5 Photoshop upgrade work on a CS3 Extended version?
Is Photoshop CS3 Extended an "eligible earlier version of this product" for the CS5 upgrade?

  • Photoshop CS3 Extended freezes on startup - Windows 7

    Hello,
Recently Photoshop CS3 Extended freezes when I launch it on my Windows 7 (64 bit) computer. The splash screen appears but then it just stops working (usually on initializing Tools). It then asks to exit or search for help.
I have read several things so far. To fix it I tried:
    - disabling the TWAIN plugin
    - resetting all tools
    - deleting the Photoshop preferences file.
    - deleting my printer from the control panel (some others said printer drivers could cause it)
But all of these did not help. Please let me know how I could fix this. It is not nice having a deadline and not being able to guarantee Photoshop will work.

    Thank you for your replys!
@Mylenium: I have not recently changed the graphics driver, anyway, this post will contain some more detailed information.
Since the system does not hang (it is only PS) I could take a screenshot of it:
