COMPLETELY REMOVE FF, without losing Bookmarks?

before I just give up on this app, I'll try ONCE MORE to re-install it, completely from scratch . I want to remove it COMPLETELY; every single trace & temp file. Except I don't want to lose the bookmarks, since I've collected a lot since switching from Safari.
So how do I copy the bookmarks somewhere safe & then scrub every bit of FF out of my Macintosh.

As I note you have other forum posts and are apparently unhappy with Firefox it seems possible you may revert to Safari or some other browser. If you do that it may be useful to export the Firefox bookmarks as HTML

All your bookmarks history etc... is stored in your user profile on your pc, not in the install directory of firefox so when you install a newer version it only over writes the files in its install directory and not your bookmarks etc...
There is also some add-ons that can backup all your user data so that you can restore them later.

If you want to be safe you can manually backup your profile before you begin the upgrade.
On Windows Vista or 7 you will find your profile at;
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<random-generated-profile-name>.default
On XP I believe it is at;
C:\Document and settings\<username>\Application Data\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<random-generated-profile-name>.default
Just copy the contents of the above folder to somewhere else on your hard drive and if your bookmarks didn't copy over then you can manually place the files back into the above directory.

Hi,
You will need to use the Combo Box as a control, not an indicator, as in that form it can only display one value.
To change the values you can use a Property Node. The terminal itself does not need to be wired.

Remove application without losing data.

I have an application which contains data I want to keep, but it is taking up all the space on my iPhone. So, I want to remove it temporarily until the update is released that will allow me to take this data directly off the application.
Basically, is there a way to remove this application without losing its data?

3rd party application settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party application is included with your iPhone's backup. I don't believe deleting the application from your iPhone removes the existing data created and stored by the application that is included with your iPhone's backup.
I base this on doing a restore with iTunes from my iPhone's backup. 3rd party applications must be reinstalled and any data created and stored by the applications was restored with my iPhone's backup.

Huh? No. Did you actually read the document? It only mentions copy and paste in one part to do with Notes, and you didn't mention having any Notes on iCloud. If you don't have any notes, then no copying and pasting is required.

I was trying just to remove one of the things from the top of the page, but then somehow removed everything from the page; URL bar, shortcuts, favourites, refresh button etc. All I have is the 'tab' bar. Please could you let me know how to get all this back.

Actually, it's pretty easy to change the start page.

For a previous problem, i have to reinstall my MacOS and safari now does not work. So i want to reinstall it, but I'm not sure if I'm going to lose my previous bookmarks that I had in my latest Safari.

About 15 minutes ago I reinstalled Safari and all my bookmarks remained intact... here's what I did...
I had a problem with Safari not opening after Security Update 2005-007. I used a program called Pacifist to get a file called Safari.pkg from my Tiger install disc.
The file lives in:
Mac OS X Install DVD/System/Packages/Safari.pkg
Open the pkg with Pacifist and drop the Safari.app file into your Applications folder.
That's it - my bookmarks all remained intact - hope yours do!
FYI - Safari bookmarks are stored in your 'user' home folder in Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist so you might want to make a copy of that and keep it safe.
If you install a browser called Shiira you can also import your Safari bookmarks into that. I managed to do that while my Safari was broken.

I made the mistake of changing permissions within page info on my fantasy football site. Was trying to get rid of an advertisement that covered areas of the page and prevented me from setting my weekly starting lineup.
Rather than doing that, it has made it impossible for me to log in to my team's web pages. I can log in to CBS Fantasy Football, but not to the pages that deal with my league or team.

There is another way...but to answer your question, yes. When you uninstall FF it ask to delete 'personal' files or some such expression. I did it and did not lose any of my bookmarks or even many other special settings. Edit: if you don't get a window asking to save settings, wait for another to suggest help. I could be wrong. My setup was on vista and I see you are on XP.

I recently upgraded Firefox to the 'optimized for Yahoo' version and have been experiencing slow starts and stalls. This happened once before when I upgraded Internet Explorer to an 'optimized for Yahoo' version. I was able to uninstall it and reinstalled the latest version from Microsoft, but I lost all my bookmarks / favorites in the process.

I reinstalled Firefox and the problem was solved. I have to say I am pretty disappointed with the support that I have got here. The helpers listed all the ways that I try to fix the problem but none of them worked. Also backing up data did not do anything. I lost all my history and saved password even though I followed the exact same steps as you gave me.
Seems like a lot of people are facing the youtube video problem, hope you guys can figure out how to fix it so that everyone is satisfied with using your service.

Remove edit without losing sync?

I have a project that involves music on track 3 and 4 and voice on tracks 1/2.
The music plays throughout- but the voice is only on certain clips.
I am trying to edit out a few seconds of a silent clip- but I want to keep the rest of the sequence in sync. I made the cut- but when I delete it- the video moves- but the audio stays and is now out of sync.
I believe the problem I can not add an edit to tracks unless it contains media where I want to cut.
Is there a way to make a cut on tracks without media present? This way I could make the cut across the video and audio track- delete both- and everything falls into place. In Avid i was able to add an edit to the audio track even there wasn't any audio- this way everything remained in sync.

I'm not sure exactly what you're doing, but.. I think the problem is that you've got a track running continuously (music). Lock the music track and then try to delete the video section. I think that will work.

My iPhone 5 is running low on space so I plan on cleaning it out soon. I have a lot of games on my iPhone with app data included that I don't play as often. I was planning on removing these temporarily because some day I might want to play them again but I'm afraid I won't have my progress anymore. The only way to recover the data for a deleted app would be to restore from a backup made before you deleted the app. Apps and their data are integral to eachother, so deleting one deletes the other.
If you have a backup, you could restore from that to restore an App's data, but a restore is also an all or nothing option - the restore will restore everything to the state of the backup, not single or selective items.
Other than that, there is no way to acheive what you wish - if you delete the app you delete its data.

The TC is very hard to just move.. it retains too much of the old network setup.. buried deep in the bowels of the firmware configuration files.. or even on the hard disk special partitions used by the TC.. invisible to you btw.. !!
Do a factory reset and setup from scratch.
That factory reset will have no affect on your backups.. even if you rename the TC.. not a bad things since you also want clients to respond to the new network.. simply reset TM to the new TC name and location.

The Factory Reset Gen1-4.
Unplug your TC. Hold in reset. and power the TC back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.

Hold in reset for about 5sec until the status light flashes quickly.
If your AirPort Time Capsule still doesn’t respond, do a similar reset to the Gen1-4.
Unplug your AirPort Time Capsule .. hold in reset and power the TC back on.. without releasing the reset.. wait until status led flashes rapidly.
