Completely uninstall Epson Rx595 junk software

Hi my parents just bought a new printer, an Epson stylus photo rx595 printer, and the instructions in the manual said to use the install disc and install the software. I was wary at first, but carried through. now i have all this junk epson software that i do not need, as i can connect to my parents computer through the network through a print server. How do I get rid of all of this junk? I don't want to have all this epson brand software on my mac.

Toss everything but the driver in the trash. Toss all that picture, and whatever junk. It should be in a folder in "Applications". All you should need is in Library/Printers folder. Anything else can go. Look in System Preferences/Accounts>Login Items. Make certain nothing is there, too.

Hi, I have created myself a problem that I dont know how to fix. I
purchased a computer that had Photoshop (CS6) installed.
My old version of photoshop went with my old computer, and as luck

Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem")
Went to the Adobe web site, dodloaded some software that I thought

working OK. Of coarse I dont have the discs to reinstall the software.
I have registered with Adobe, and hoped that you might be able to

days, with that hope I can resolve this problem by then.
Thanks in advance, I hope there is something we can do. Kind

I think you'll need to contact Adobe about your license of the software.
Hope you can get it worked out.

Not sure of an answer to your basic question, but it may be that you can run a repair (on Windows --> Control Panel>Programs & Features and run the repair on Acrobat). If that fixes the issue, at least temporarily, at least you will not be reinstalling everything -- a real pain.
Next, open Acrobat and go to the Help to run the updates and be sure you are current. On some OSs, the updates are critical.

  • Can't seem to completely uninstall software

    Hi everybody,
I'm a a fairly recent convert to the world of Macs and haven't looked back since. Apologies if my question is a little dim or has been covered in other areas of the forum.
I'm having a little problem at the moment, which somebody can hopefully help with.
I installed a piece of software called TechTools onto my MBP but decided to uninstall to keep my machine running fast and save space. My understanding was that I simply selected the program from my Applications folder and as there is no uninstaller, just drag it and any other related icons to the trash bin before emptying. I have done so so cannot access the installed program any more.
However I don't think it has completely uninstalled as I keep getting a techtools alert about the limited free space on my HDD. This alert is annoying and was one of the reasons that I decided to ditch the software.
As I thought that I had uninstalled correctly, could somebody tell me how to make this go away please!

    Hi,
There are probably several ways to uninstall Applications (if there is not an option to do so within the Application itself) but you may find this link of use...
    http://www.reggieashworth.com/appdelete
I would however well recommend keeping Techtool Pro on your machine as it is a very handy piece of software which can determine various issues with your Mac. I have eDrives partitioned on my Macs which enable me to ***** my hard drives & detect problems at an early stage as well as keeping them defragged etc. It does take up a fair bit of hard drive space but can save a lot of problems in the long run.

  • I keep getting the endless blue circle when trying to watch netflix on my macbook pro, despite completely uninstalling/reinstalling silverlight?

I'm putting this question in the Macbook Pro category because I'm not having this problem on a similar age Macbook Air, both of which are running Lion, so I'm wondering if its not something to do with the graphics card or something else specific to this laptop?  The software suite isn't the same between the two computers, so that could also be an issue, if anyone has any ideas about what software may be interfering.
The long and short of it is that when I try to watch netflix on my 2011 Macbook Pro, I get the Silverlight blue dots that spin around in a circle in the middle of the screen, and that's it.  I assumed it was a silverlight problem, so I completely uninstalled/trashed the silverlight plugin and all its associated files (having read other forums where detailed command-line instructions were given) and reinstalled, and I still have the same problem.  And it occurs in 3 browsers: chrome, firefox, and safari.
And here's the real kicker -- I'm running Windows 7 in Parallels.....and when I try to watch netflix on my VM, I no longer get the blue circle....BUT the movies/shows don't play.  I can scroll through the entire show and the current frame will come up, but it will not play --- the play button is depressed (ie, I can only see a pause button) but nothing happens -- it's as if the

There are several issues for sure you may be dealing with all of which may be related. I would start by saying that you experienced a "Kernel Panic" during the boot camp partition, described in article http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1392. I would advise that for the heat issue and the kernel panics in conjunction, may be a good push to get diagnostics at a retail store or apple service provider.
    - - If all this is just a set of resolvable software or small hardware issues, articles http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1388 and http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964 will help surely start tackling these issues, best of luck!

    Hi Gary,
I appreciate your input. But I'm not confused. I know this is FCS 3 we're referring to, but different software titles have different licenses. Apple has this page listing the various licenses for their products. That there's more than one means the rules for each software title listed are different. So unless a person were to read through it, you wouldn't know what you can and can't do with a particular title. That it's not Adobe or Microsoft in this case is irrelevant. You still need to read it to find out how a transfer must be done.
For FCS3, registering does not authenticate the software, does not give proof of ownership does not provide the ability  obtain technical support. FCS3  installs and operates properly without registering.
Yes, I know that. I own it. I can't think of any Apple title that "phones home", as the Windows OS and Office do, to activate a new install. You just need to provide the serial number during installation.
To relinquish ownership of FCS 3 the application is removed form the sellers computer, documentaion and discs must be given to the new owner, that completes the legal transfer. Its up to the new owner whether he registers or not. All the new owner has to do is install the application, there is no need to register to be able to own, install and operate FCS 3.
Yes, but again, until reading the license, that statement would have been a guess. Before I could sell a copies of Macromedia FreeHand MX and Monaco Proof I had, I was required to fill out a transfer of ownership form. I'm just saying it varies from company to company and title to title.
Your question about ''one time permanent transfer' means a seller can only transfer the licence once to an other person - you cant transfer it again later to an other buyer, that would be theft.
Of course a second copy from you to someone else would be theft, but that wasn't the question. As it reads, does it mean:
    1) Only the person who originally bought the software is allowed to transfer it to a second owner. And that owner can then not sell or give the software away themselves.
    or
    2) It's a poor way of saying whoever has the software (the original disks and documentation) can sell or give away the software once. Then that new owner can also do the same once.
I would have to believe the latter, but it can be taken either way.

  • Epson Print CD software with TC

    Hello,
I have an Epson RX595 plugged into my Time Capsule and wireless printing works fine. I cannot scan over wireless, but I have read that this is normal and not supported (if I'm incorrect please tell me). The problem I am having is printing onto a CD/DVD via Epson's Print CD software. It has been working fine when USB'd directly to my MBP, but when I try and print over wireless I get an error message saying the required drivers are not installed. I can unplug from the TC and into my MBP and it will print just fine. Is there anyone who has this working? I have emailed Epson support and have not heard back for a week.
Also I can not longer see ink levels when the printer is plugged into the TC. Is there a way to do this?
I have the latest drivers from Epson, latest firmware/updates for TC/Airport Utility.
    Thanks

No. I guess it is like scanning - you need a 2-way communication channel and wireless printing like this is basically 1-way. Or something like that. Anyway, I know it doesn't work. I think you may find other things such as cleaning print heads etc. also require a direct connexion - at least, that is how it is for me with an admittedly different printer.
The bit about scanning is correct, too.
No idea about the CD/DVD printing issue. Sorry.

  • How do I completely uninstall an application using Darwin?

    Dear Forum Members,
Hello to everyone, I'm new to the Apple Discussions forum and this is my first post. Recently, I came to understand through online sources that most applications designed to uninstall software do not completely remove everything. Does Darwin have the commands needed to completely uninstall an application? If so, what are they and in what order would I execute them? When the need arises, I would like to know how to do this properly.
My experience in using Darwin is basic but I would like to learn more and become more proficient with its use.
    Thank you,
    AYW?

There is "No" unified uninstall facility.
If the application did not provide its own uninstall script, then you generally drag the application to the trash, then if you are worried about the preferences files you look in $HOME/Library/Preferences and maybe "$HOME/Library/Application Support" for files related to the app you trashed.
If you installed something via open source tools, then you dig through the makefile and look for where stuff was installed, and undo it.

  • How do I COMPLETELY uninstall Avast anti-virus (free edition) from my Mac?

How do we completely uninstall Avast anti-virus, latest edition from my Mac?  This product has really messed up my Safari browser with all the extensions and
    possible plug-ins!
    Thank you for any advice!

If you don't have an uninstaller:
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
        1. AppZapper
        2. AppDelete
        3. Automaton
        4. Hazel

Intego has their own uninstaller which is the best thing to use. Otherwise, see the following. From a practical point of view you really don't need any such software on the Mac.

  • Printing to an Epson RX595 DVD printer?

This may not be the right place to ask this, but bare with me please.
I have asked Epson and gotten no response so I though I would try somewhere else.
I have an Epson RX595 printer that can print to DVD's and CD's my question is ...
Is there a way to print a DVD/CD directly from Adobe Photoshop.?
Is there a template that I can download and open in photoshop and it will be
configures properly to print to this printer?
    Thank you;
    Steve Cohen

They way I went about this was using Photoshop to create the image, then saved it as a .jpg or .gif or.bmp then used the print cd software import feature to import the image and I would adjust it accordingly. I know this does not answer your question if you can print directly from photoshop, but this way should work unless you cannot use print cd software for some reason. (In that case, I do believe there is still a way, I don't know how it will turn out because I have never tried it, by somewhere in the settings of one of the software apps the printer came with( I have found it by playing around and I would check now, but I use this printer at the local church) you can change the paper type (ie. letter, photo paper, envelope, CD, etc.) to CD/DVD.
