Completely Uninstall FCP and all Components

so FCP takes up about 50gb of space on my HD.. I never use it, so I've decided to remove it... I've used appzapper, and I've used the FCS remover (http://www.digitalrebellion.com/fcs_remover.htm) but it has only cleared up about 10gb of data.... 7 to be exact...
what can I do to clear it off.. all of it.. all the extra apps and stuff.. I cleared them all through appzapper and FCS remover.. but.. it hasnt cleared up the space

I have absolutely no idea what is taking up ~40 GBs of space. The applications themselves don't take up much, it's the content, but if none of those folders exist then you don't have any content on your system (unless it's in a different folder but you said you'd installed it to the default location).
P.S. If you find out what it is, let me know.

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Complete uninstall -- loops and all

How do I perform a complete, absolute uninstall of GB 09 with all its loops, so I can start over from scratch?

Here's the core problem: I keep getting the infinitely-stopped "Updating to new song format..." message as GB attempts to load a previous file.
If I drop that same file into Logic Express, it opens there just fine. Obviously this feels like the file is okay, but that something is wrong in the way GB tries to work with it.
From past experiences, I'm convinced (mostly) that the core problem is a flawed loop that has been part of a tune saved in GB. But: all the loops in the current test tune are Apple born and raised except one called "AMG Very Low 2.aif" which is part of the Vince Clarke group of loops from the AMG Triple Platinum collection sold in Apple Stores. Further tests showed me that nothing in the actual saved content of the tune was to blame.
I had thought that some older loops from the Jeff Rona collections from Best Of Pro Sessions were to blame for similar hangs previously, and only after completely trashing every shred of the Pro Sessions Loop Libraries would GB behave.
I don't know if all or just some or all of these files are to blame, but it's obvious to me now that the only thing that will eliminate the "Updating..." hang is blowing them away utterly. A shame, since they are part of so many works from the past.
Is there any way to process loops (these are all .aif files) to assure that they behave?

It worked just fine last weekend. I have windows 8.1 and a brand new pc, new iPod also, the new Nano. now after the update today, iTunes says iPod has been detected but could not be indentified properly. I can see it in windows. I tried the reset on the iPod also. what else can I do?? HELP

uninstalled iTunes and all the recommended things
Doublechecking. Have you tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

  • After completely uninstalling iTunes and QuickTime, registry keys remain!

I have completely uninstalled iTunes and QuickTime from my PC (OS = XP Home) and deleted all folders and files associated with Apple, iTunes or QuickTime that were not removed during the normal uninstall procedure.
Also, I have cleaned my registry using Registry Mechanic. However, about 120 registry keys for iTunes and QuickTime stubbornly remain. I have tried to remove them several times, but on the next scan they are still there. Manual removal using Regedit also fails, resulting in the message:
"Cannot delete **: error while deleting key".
I don't understand how a program that has been completely deleted can still have registry traces. The offending keys (listed below) are in the Custom Controls section. How can I delete them?

Manual removal using Regedit also fails
In regedit, check the permissions on one of the keys that you're failing to remove. Does the user account that you're logged into (while doing the regedit) have full permissions on the key?

  • How to completely remove safari and all its files?

I have Windows Vista and I need to COMPLETELY remove Safari and ALL its files. It is important that it is completely removed, and I've already tried simply uninstalling (from "uninstall a program" in the control panel)it but it doesn't get rid of EVERYTHING safari. I think some of the files are damaged or something because Safari won't open. How would I do this?
Message was edited by: Friends of Apple

Just go into Control panel and Uninstall programs. Select Safari and select uninstall.

  • How can I completely remove iTunes and all associated files/programs from my Windows PC?

How can I completely remove iTunes and all associated files/programs from my Windows PC?

iTunes, along with Quick Time, iCloud, Apple Software Update, Bonjour, Apple Mobile Device Support and Apple Application Support can all be removed from your PC by uninstalling them using 'Uninstall or change a program' in Control Panel. The only obvious thing that will be left behind is your iTunes library which remains untouched. If you want to remove that as well it's just a question of deleting it.
    Hope that helps.

  • Uninstalling programs and related components

How do I uninstall programs and components from this machine. It was given to me with all the original owners stuff on it.

    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS. Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term. Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default. You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, Easy Find, instead. Download Easy Find at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder. Usually with the same name as the program or the developer. The item generally has a ".pkg" extension. Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications. Here is a selection:
    AppZapper
    Automaton
    Hazel
    CleanApp
    Yank
    SuperPop
    Uninstaller
    Spring Cleaning
Look for them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

  • How do I uninstall iphoto and all its contents and then reinstall?

For the last few years i have been deleting my photos from iphoto incorrectly which has resulted in many modified versions which has clogged up my HD, so i want to completely uninstall my whole iphoto application, before i reinstall it.
if you could tell me how to do that, that would be great
    cheers
    j

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Removing the application and re-installing it will not solve the problem you describe:
i have been deleting my photos from iphoto incorrectly which has resulted in many modified versions which has clogged up my HD
That's a Library issue. The library is quite separate from the application.
If you have unattached modifieds then I would suggest that you don't need to start over, but rather use iPhoto Library Manager to rebuild the Library. This will create a new Library preserving much of the work you've already done - albums and wanted edited versions and so on, and leave behind the unattached files. Then you can trash that old Library.
If you really want to slash and burn:
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 09* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.

  • How do you COMPLETELY uninstall Itunes AND the Settings too??

    Hi,
I am having some troubles with itunes and I was told to uninstall it and then reinstall it again. However whenever I do this the previous settings are still there. I need to COMPLETELY uninstall the program and also ALL of the settings.
My iphone settings are messed up and it is synching with some other calendar, so I need to uninstall the program and then also erase the files where the settings for this are stored. It is not doing it becuase when I reinstalled the program my old settings were still there, I did not have to redo anything.
Thanks so much for all of your help.
    Charles

    Hi,
    Thanks again.
I tried that last night. I uninstalled Itunes, I removed all of the "settings" files on the application folder. Then I reset the iphone and erased all data.
While it did erase the playlist and videos and photo information, the MAIL and CONTACT Sync info remained there. I cant get rid of that info for some reason.
Its wierd becuase when I synch my ipod the calendar and contact sync's fine. But with the iphone only the contacts sync not the calendar. It is sync'ing to some other calendar somewhere else and I cant find it. I just need to reset the settings and it will be fine.
Do you have any other ideas. Thanks so much.
    Charles
