Compliance Manager and SQL 2008 R2 Settings

Can SCCM see inside SQL database tables where settings for applications are stored to insure they are set properley?  Does someone have an example?  Also looking for a best place (direct link) to get baselines?  And perhaps a walk thought
for editing them or creating?

ConfigMgr can't do that out of the box, but you can also use scripts (vbs, powershell, jscript) in configuration items which can do the compliance checks for you.

Within the above environment (XL Reporter in Sap 8.8  PL 16 running On Server 2008 R2  and SQL 2008 R2)
Xl reporter is loading and appears to work fine until you look at the spreadsheet result
It is completely blank except for the titles
Yet Excel Macros and the attachment paths are defined correctly
As can be seen when we export any report to Excel successfully
I've had another consultant look at my setup carefully just to be sure
    He can't figure out why
    Anyone with similar results
    I would appreciate any comments
    Georges Ostiguy

Even something as simple as a list of BP 's and phone number gives a blank report
When my friend who knows xl reporter much more than I do tried, he managed to get the
    BP numbers but nothing further
I then brought him to another server with the same configuration , same result
He then tried it on one of his own servers with similar config = same result

  • Windows 2003 server and SQL 2008

    Hi
Does SAP Business one support windows 2008 and sql 2008 platforms?
When i checked the partner portal it says that these platforms are not supported. Is there any update?
    Regards
    Louis

    Hello Louis,
The only way to determine this is via the supported platforms page in the portal. This is the most up to date, and will include information for the future when this data is available. So for not I would only plan with what information is available.

  • EVGET in BPC 7 MS and SQL 2008

Have there been any change in how evget works in BPC 7 MS with SQL 2008 compared with BPC 5,1 and SQL 2005?
When I use EVGET in BPC 5.1 and SQL 2005 I always get RFN# when the cell with EVGET isn't updated.
But now when I'm trying BPC 7 and SQL 2008 I get i zero (0) when cell isn't updated. And some times I get another value that isn't the right value for that specific EVGET formula, seems like the system has an old value in memory thats shows, but when I update the, right value shows up in the cell.
This can be a bit confusing and even worse, in some of our reports the wrong value isn't updated when report is refreshed.
Anyone with the same problem or anyone who know if there are any changes made how the data is refreshed in EVGET formulas

Did anoyone resolve this issue? - we are facing the same

  • SAP R3 4.5b running on Windows 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2

    Hi
Trying to obtain information on compatability of SAP R3 4.5b running on Windows 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2 ?
I understand that SAP may not support this? But would it actually work? Assuming we have a third party supporting it?
    Jay

    Hi Jay,
You may check the support in PAM http://service.sap.com/pam.
Ideally SAP shall not support this environment.
    Reason being:
    1) SAP kernel for R3 4.5b not available for windows 2008 R2
    2) Compatible database library not available for R3 4.5b on MSSQL 2008 R2.
with above 2 reason you shall not be able to install R3 4.5b on Windows 2008R2 with MSSQL 2008 R2 database.

  • BPC 7.5 SP4 Support for Windows 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2

The release notes for BPC 7.5M SP04 state that support has been added for both Windows 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2.
For SQL 2008 R2, there is nothing in the feature pack described as "SQL 2005 Backward Compatibility Components" - which was a required piece for  BPC 7/7.5 on SQL 2008. Is the SQL 2008 version still a requirement, or does BPC 7.5 now not need the Backward Compatibility components?
Also, the ReprotViewer executable that is packaged with BPC 7.5 is the one for SQL 2008- will that work when installing SQL 2008 R2?
    thanks,

  • WebLogic and SQL 2008

    Hello,
Could someone tell me if WebLogic 10.3.1 is supported with SQL 2008?
    Thanks in advance

Always go here to check for certifications:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/files/fusion_certification.html
Then look at Oracle Fusion Middleware 11gR1 xls link:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/files/oracle%20fusion%20middleware%2011gR1%20(11.1.1.x)%20certification%20matrix.xls
In this case, only WLS 10.3.2+ has been certified for "Microsoft SQL Server 2008.
Note the other column for Type of Database Use. Looking further below you'll see two caveats. * shows what certificated means. ** shows that even though it's not certified, if your use is not one of the functions listed in * and you have a compliant driver many other types of uses may work just fine.
"*When WebLogic Server features use a database for internal data storage, database support is more restrictive than for application data access. The following WebLogic Server features require internal data storage:
    Ÿ Container Managed Persistence (CMP);
    Ÿ Rowsets;
    Ÿ JMS/JDBC Persistence and use of a WebLogic JDBC Store;
    Ÿ JDBC Session Persistence;
    Ÿ RDBMS Security Providers;
    Ÿ Database Leasing (for singleton services and server migration);
Ÿ JTA Logging Last Resource optimization"
"**WebLogic Server provides support for application data access to databases using JDBC drivers that meet the following requirements:
Ÿ The driver must be threadsafe.
Ÿ The driver must implement standard JDBC transactional calls, such as setAutoCommit() and setTransactionIsolation(), when used in transactional aware environments.
    Note the following restrictions:
Ÿ JDBC drivers that do not implement serializable or remote interfaces cannot pass objects to an RMI client application.
Ÿ Automatic database connection failover and load balancing with global transactions (XA) in a highly-available (HA) DBMS architecture is supported with Oracle RAC only, and is not supported with other HA DBMS technologies."

    Hi all,
We are planning to upgrade to Windows 2012 and SQL 2012 , can we take this in-place upgrade path in the following order ?
    Setup 1 Host with 2 VM's running Windows 2008 R2 on Host and Windows 2008 R2/sqL 2008 on VM's.
    1. Host1(running 2 VM's) - In-place upgrade windows 2008 R2 to windows 2012 R2
    2. VM1 on host1 - In place upgrade windows 2008 R2 to Windows 2012 R2
    3. VM2 on host1 - In place upgrade windows 2008 R2 to Windows 2012 R2 (AD Server)
    4. SQL running VM1 - In place upgrade SQL 2008 with DB/reporting services to SQL 2012 DB/reporting services
All Servers ( including Host and VM's) are stand alone in a workgroup setup.( except one VM a stand alone AD server by itself).
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
If you want migrate from windows 2008r2 to windows 2012r2, you must install windows server 2008r2 sp1.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn303416.aspx
For the host 1 upgrade, please refer to the following:
    http://blog.powerbiz.net.au/server-2012/in-place-upgrade-from-windows-server-2008-r2-to-windows-server-2012/
For the SQL in-place upgrade, i think you may need to ask in SQL forums:

  • Sharepoint 2007 and SQL 2008 SP3 on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP2 (64-bit)

Is there any documentation we can check if SQL 2008 SP3 is compatible with Sharepoint 2007 SP2 or SP3? Both Sharepoint and SQL servers are running on separate Virtual machines (Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP2(64-bit)). Currently DB is running on
SQL server 2008 SP2, and we would like to have SP3 loaded on it, but want to find if there is any compatibility issue?
    Thanks in advance!
    mh

I'm not aware of any known issues with SQL Server 2008 SP3 and SharePoint 2007. I did a quick check and saw one person reporting an issue with their Central Admin site after applying the SQL Server update, but that's it.
With that being said, I would strongly encourage you to test out the application of that SQL Server service pack in a non-production environment well before you apply it in production. There is always a chance that your environment has something set up in
it that would cause an unexpected issue, and the best way to get an idea of whether or not an issue exists is by doing it somewhere else first before you do it in prod.

  • BPC 70 SP4 and SQL 2008 Feature Pack

Is the SQL 2008 Feature Pack required in a BPC 70 SP4 installation with SQL 2008?  It is listed as a prerequisite, but our DBA's would prefer that it not be installed.  My understanding is that this is needed for backward compatability.  Thre are notes related to this for SP3, but nothing for SP4.

    Hi John,
I just checked it and you don't need all feature pack.
Just install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility Components on Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Feature Pack.
This is for executing custom packages that was created in SQL2005.
I hope it will help you.

  • Allow users to manage and change Automatic Update settings

    Server SBS 2011 SP 1
Couldn't find a thread that helped. Hoping to get some light on my situation.
The client has users who they'd like to have full control of their client PCs Windows Automatic Updates. The users would like to go into Control Panel and check updates at will, set times for auto updates to their liking. I haven't found the appropriate
GPO setting to allow users to change update settings.
Is that possible? Will creating an OU without a linked GPO and blocking inheritance provide the answer?
    Thanks ALL!

the dedicated SBS forums might bet better for your question (since SBS can be finicky about some settings)
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?category=sbsserver
It will likely depend upon how the implementation is currently setup (there could be various things in place, in a customised fashion).
Basically, when using GPO to deploy WUAgent settings for WSUS, the user interface for WU is disabled for the end-user - this is how classic domain GP works, and is intended to work. (i.e. if the domain admin deploys a setting, end-users are unable to change
    that)
You may be able to easily identify the relevant domain GPO that is delivering this setting, but you would (presumably) want to only change the single setting relating to AUOptions, and leave the other settings as they currently are (i.e. continue to use
WSUS to serve the update approvals and update files/patches.
Creating a new OU and not linking/inheriting, may cause other unintended effects/complexity.
(it might be the only way to achieve your goal, but analysing which GPOs are carrying which settings, and then which GPOs you *do* need to be linked/inherited, will be an important step)

  • BPC 70 SP4 and SQL 2008 SP1 build 10.00.2531

I am preparing a single server environment to host BPC 70 SP4.  The prerequisites indicate SQL 2008 with cumulative update pack 2 is supported (build 10.00.1779).  Will SQL 2008 SP1 (build 10.00.2531) work also?

    John,
It will work but due to a critical issue of CU1. I recommend using CU2 or later.
    Thanks.

    Hi
Today I think I discovered what was the problem:
I used an user in the domain for deploying the role of SUP, but I forgot to put that user in the group of SQL Admins of the SQL Server.
I done that and after reseting the servers, the error for sync with SQL didn't appear again, al least from this morning until now, before this change every hour showed the error 6703.
Thanks to all for your comments.
