Compliance Report - Installed updates showing as not Installed

Hello,
In our environment we are having more than 1500 servers which we patch via SCCM. Recently i have noticed that many of the servers are showing as non-compliant after patch/maintanance window. I have cross-verified all these servers and figured out that
, whatever updates i have deployed has been succesfully installed. As part of troubleshooting i have initiated  " Machine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle  " and " Software Updates Deployment Cycle " in all these machines,
but nothing changed. I was on a vaccation after that incident and came back after 3 days and found that all those servers status has been changed to "Compliant".
Last week also i have deployed certain set of updates in few of the servers and scenario remains unchanged.
Any direction on this would be great!
Regards
Nithin

By default the client do not uploade all state messages. That can be changed in the deployment, after which you will get more precise data in the reports -

  • IOS installed apps showing as not installed in App Store

This problem seemed to start when I was unable to pay my Apple bill. As is usual, the App Store wouldn't allow me to download apps and updates but I signed out my account and then back in and all of my pending app updates disappeared and in the Purchased section, it showed all of my apps as Not Installed in the way of it displaying the iCloud icon rather than Open button. I figured this was due to my Apple bill being unpaid so I forgot about it. Now at the end of the month when I was again able to pay my bill, I did so and yet my apps are all still showing as Not Installed, I should note though, that my apps are installed, available on my springboard and are usable. So I signed out my AppleID and signed back in but still no change.
I can just go through my Purchased list and press the iCloud button and it again recognises that the app is actually installed and then displays the Open button, but, I have maybe 300 apps installed on a Purchased list of over 1,000 apps so this would be a real pain.
Is there any better way for me to reconfigure these apps so they return to normal state?

    Hello CCC,
It is happening on the following devices:
    iPhone5
    iPhone5s (two)
each have a "Family" generated iTunes account which has been associated to my iTunes account as the organizer. I would probably like to see it resolved on the iPhone5s (son and daughter) first and then the iPhone5 (wife).
    2. I am also experiencing issues with "Mail" using IOS 8 in that email will not delete from my inboxes (same devices as above)...
    3. I also have an issue with iCalendar not syncing events to my family members devices (iPhone5 and iPhone5S) using IOS 8. I entered my son's volleyball games into calendar on my macbook which is associated to my apple id as organizer and none of the other devices  associated to other family iTunes account received the updates. I have an iPhone5 as well and I received the updates.
    4. I am also experiencing issues with Family not recognizing pictures of family members which I have been trying to get fixed up.
I don't think I have ever experienced this many glitches when updating to a new version from Apple before:(. I sure hope this is not going to be the new norm.
I have also noticed that Health kit does not allow you to change the unit of measures within the application that it forces you to use the country's standard. This might be fine for younger individuals but as for me who grew up learning imperial and changed to metric halfway through school I would prefer the option to choose which unit of measure to use.
Thanks for taking the time to respond,

  • Software updates sometimes do not install. I have two software updates that I continually show up as available to install. When I click on the install button it changes to installed. Checked About this Mac shows that the updates have not installed.

  • 'MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update (v2.3)' not installing

'MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update (v2.3)' not installing
I've tried multiple times now to install this update. When I do, it downloads and my computer will restart around 5 times with the 'beep' the first time. Once its finished the restarts and resumes normally, I check the Software Update via the Apple menu and it still appears in the list of updates.
What's the cause of this and what can I do to resolve this?

Is your machine plugged in when you do this?  The firmware update will not take place unless your system is plugged in.  You'll just get a black screen that flashes a few times and it will eventually boot regularly back to what it was.  If the firmware is installing, you'll see a progress bar at the bottom of your display.

  • Where are the updates that are not installed?

If you do not install the updates, were are they? I had download automatic on and so there are a lot of install already donwloaded but not installed, where are they stored? Every update makes my computer more and more slower in starting up so now I am forced to do a complete reinstall. This never happenend to me when I was using my old g4.

If you don't install an update then it isn't downloaded. If you select the option to save and not install then the installer file will be saved. Otherwise nothing is saved on your drive. The next time you use Software Update the uninstalled updates will simply reappear.

  • HT4623 I downloaded the update but it not installing it keep saying update is Unavailable at this time

Backup your device in iTunes first.  After backup disconnect the device.  On the device for to Setting > General > Update and launch the update there.  Make sue you have it plugged into some power.  iTunes seems to be having some issues with the update.  I have update two iPhones and two iPads this way.
    Good luck!!

  • Conflicting Compliance report results/Updates appearing in compliance report that aren't in an update list

I'm getting some conflicting results between a couple of different compliance reports as well as computers appearing as non-compliant even though the non-compliant updates aren't in even in the update list in question.
If I run the Compliance 1 - Overall Compliance report for my only update list for the Desktops collection it returns 49 non-compliant computers.
Here is an excerpt from the Compliance 6 - Specific computer report if I drill down on one of those computers:

Now the first strange thing is that all those Office 2007 updates aren't even present in the update list that I'm generating the compliance report for.  So why are they showing as required but not installed?
The second strange thing is that if I run the Compliance 3 - Update list (per update) report for the same collection and update list I get different results.  Those updates that are shown as being not installed on some of my computers in the first compliance report aren't showing up in this report.  This report is showing the accurate list of updates in the update list.

Yes, I know this is an old post, I’m trying to clean them up.
Q1: The Report Compliance 6 - Specific computer shows all SU that are needed / applied to that computer.
Q2: You will need to show an example of what you mean.

IOS error messagge - I keep getting the following message when I try to update my iPad2 - unable to install update, an error occurred installing IOS 8.1.2.  How can I fix this?

Which way are you trying to update? WiFi or iTunes? In either case, I would try restarting/rebooting all devices and then try again.
IF you are using iTunes, eject your iPad, quit iTunes, reboot your computer and reset your iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons until the Apple logo appears on the screen. After the iPad starts up, connect to iTunes and try again. You may also want to disable your firewall and antivirus software when you try to update using iTunes. Sometimes those will interfere with the download.
If you are using WiFi, reset the iPad as described above and try again.
If WiFi updating will not work, try using iTunes, if iTunes will not work, try using WiFi.

  • HT201210 my iPhone says unable to install update    An error occurred installing iOS 6

my iPhone is telling me it is unable to install update    An error occurred installing iOs 6.  What am I doing wrong?  went to settings, general, software and it shows me the ios 6 update - agreed to the terms and conditions and it gives the above message.  Anyone got a suggestion?

There is no such thing as an iPhone 's3'.  There is a 3G which can only be updated to iOS 4.2.1 and a 3GS which can be updated to iOS 6.1.3.

I have exactly the same problem.  iPhone 4S, never been jailbroken.  Not behind a firewall and it happens whether I am on my home compute (iTunes) or directly thru Settings_Update.
Looks like loads of people are having the same problem - and as far as I can see, Apple's sole reply is jailbreak or behind firewall/ security settings/anti-virus.  None of those apply here!
