Development Component Dependency in CM Service
Dear All..
We are using CM Service to tr transport Web Dynpro Java object into our target system.
But we are suffering from the DC(Development Component) Dependency.
Let me explain the situaiton in the below.
<The First>
Like the ERP ABAP System, we can develop and change DC which is referenced by another DC.
One developer developed A DC and another developer developed B DC.
B DC is referenced by A DC in Model view in the NWDS(Netweaver Development Studio).
In this situation if A DC should be transported to our production system,
we have to check-in and activate and release activity.
By releasing A DC,the B DC is packed in a DIP(Development Infrastructure Package) file together because of
dependency between A DC and B DC.
Is it right?
If it is right, what should I do if the B DC have a some problem and if I don't want to transport it.
Of course If the developer which develops B DC does not activate after check-In,
the B DC which have a problem in that time is not packed in a DIP file.
But the developer which devlops B DC also have to test and activate to transport into our QAS system before deploying
into our production system.
This is the our first problem.
<The Second>
So far as I know the deployment process is composed of like this.
Stop Applicaiton -> lock application -> deploy -> Start Application.
Is it right?
I found out that the time for locking application depends on the applicaiton dependency.
For example If we deploy some application having much dependency with other application, the system first try to stop whole
related applicaiton and then deploy and start application again.
I think this kind of situation is natural.
Unfortunately our some application is referenced by all applicaiton(For example the application which is used by other applicaiton commonly).
So If we change this common application and deploy, our whole applicaiton is stopped and started again.
In this situation are there any useful deployment method or development method(minimization of application dependency) to prevent
customer affection when we deploy web dynpro application?
Regards...Thanks for your reply.
DIP is a unit which we can transport our DC(Development Component) into our production system using CTS+.
You can find more detail information in the document.
"How To... Configure CM Services in SAP NetWeaver 7.3 and up"
Also regarding second question,as I said already it is natual but I'm just searching for the best reference to deploy webdyn object which have a many dependency.
For example, manually stopping before we deploy.

BPM with sofware component dependency issue
Hi ,
I have all abstract interfaces in the sotware component A and interface mapping, message mapping and BPM is in the Software component B.Software component B has the dependency with A.In my BPM container variables I am able to refer the abstract interfaces from the software component A.But in the transformertion step inside the bpm, eventhough the container variables and the souce , target messages interfaces refers the same interface and namespace it gives an error at design time. Is there any constraint in BPM ie: abstract interfaces which we have used in BPM should be in the same namespace where BPM resides.
Thanks in Advance
Regards,
RaviUr integration process must be defined in SWC A.
There is a constraint. From help.sap
An integration process can only reference interfaces from its own software component version.

How to get BOM component dependant demand whitout having BOM header in APO?
Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to get BOM component dependant demand in APO without having BOM header in APO.
If someone already did that, please thanks to share your experience.
Thanks a lot and best regards.
M.NiangHi Niang,
There is an functionality in APO - DP module called "Forecasting with Bills of Material". You need create DP-BOM (PDS/PPM) from R/3.
Please refer the SAP help link for details.

Error while updatig SAP Component Repository in SLD
We are getting the following error while updatig SAP Component
Repository in SLD:
"The import history of the target namespace could not be determined".
We are in the middle of updating SAP CR in SLD from version 2.0 to
version 3.0.
Before updating CR this morning, our 'model version' was 1.4.31 and
CR Content Version (sld/active):No versioned CR imports detected was
defined.
I imported the Model version 1.5.20 using 'cimsap1418_0-10003379.zip'
and while importing the delta 'CRDELTA1418_0-10003379.zip', we are
getting the above mentioned error.
Pls help us to resolve this problem as we took the shutdown time from
business to update the CR in XPD server.
Thanks
AmarTo upgrade from SAP MASTER DATA FOR SLD 2.0 to SAP CR CONTENT UP TO 2007 (technical version is 3.0), you are required to perform the following steps:
1. Import the last delta from 2.0. This comprises model 1.5.20 (cimsap1418_...zip) and the content delta (CRDelta1418_...zip). Before you import the new model, check the parameter RejectUnsupportedCIMQualifiers and the existing model version. Proceed according to Note 907897.
In 6.40 and 7. 0 Support Package 0 - Support Package 9, the import of the model (file cimsap....zip) takes 30-60 minutes. As of Release 7.0 Support Package 10, the import requires less than 1 minute.
2. You can obtain the next update from SAP CR CONTENT UP TO 2007 (3.0).

Hi Guys,
I have some problem in importing my software component versions from SLD to IR. While connecting to SLD it is using the port 50100. Instead of 50000. We are manually correcting it while connecting to SLD. but when we try to import the Software Component Versions from the SLD to IR. It is saying no objects available in 50100. It is not connecting to port 50000. Pls any body help me with some solution. Thanks in advance.

Edited by: Stephen Xue on Oct 8, 2009 12:00 PMHi Stephen,
If you want to create the SWCV and import that SWCV to the IR/ESR then your user having either one of the below roles.
SAP_XI_ADMINISTRATOR
SAP_XI_CONTENT_ORGANIZER
Go to transaction SU01 and give your user name and click on display.
Now click on Roles tab, here you check the above roles are appearing or not, if not then you don't have privilizes to do that things.
If you don't have that credentials then contact your BASIS guy.

The installer certainly thinks that you still have a previous ConfigMgr client installed. Perhaps you haven't completely removed it. Use ccmclean.exe from the SMS 2003 tool kit.
If that fails, why not just rebuild the server - you've said that this is a fresh install. I don't like too much messing at the beginning. This can be difficult enough - you need to start with a clean installation of the product.

Can i use both Component video and HDMI?
Hi guys,
Im wondering if its possible to connect both Component video and HDMI on the ATV?
Its currently connected to HDMI on our main HD TV, however, the apartment we have has a strange setup in which you must send RF signals to a loop back in the main room to reach all other TV's.
We dont have the capital for either another flatscreen TV or a second Apple TV until next year - so currently we've got an older (see 2004) bulk of a CRT TV upstairs and my thought was i could route a signal to the RF loop back from the ATV and use my iphone remote to control what it plays to view upstairs.
For this id need a component to composite/rf convertor which ive found so sending the signal is no problem, but what would happen if i were to connect component cables as well as the HDMI, does the ATV output on both, or priortise the HDMI?When both types of cable are connected to the tv at the same time, the HDMI connection will be on by default but the component is turned off... and what happens if the source to the HDMI cable is off - eg its plugged in but its got no where to send the signal, would it still not send to the component?.. You mean if the tv was off, same thing, HDMI would take precedence.
Are you sure about this, Winston? I have only 2 component (and 2 HDMI) inputs on my Panasonic HDTV. For this reason I invested in an Audio Authority Component Switcher (Model 1154A) a few years ago. When the TV device arrived I connected it directly to the HDTV via my HDMI-2 HDTV input and also connected the component video and optical audio to the switcher. I have no problem using the HDTV's input selector to switch back and forth between component and HDMI lines. While I admit I cannot split the screen between an HDMI input and anything else for simultaneous viewing, I can leave both lines plugged in and switch between the two lines. In addition, the activity light on the switcher indicates there is a signal present on the switcher even when I am watching the HDMI line. (Of course, this may simply be triggered by the switcher's optical audio signal since I normally watch the TV video via the HDMI line (with HDMI audio muted) and use the optical audio line to drive my receiver's AC3 decoder so I can enjoy 5.1 audio with my latest conversions.) Am, therefore, wondering if the OP may have the same capability and could then simply switch to a different input mode to "de-negotiate" his HDMI connection and allow access to whatever component device he needs as long as he doesn't need simultaneous viewing on both TVs. -
How to find out the Target Component name and Target view name
Hi All Expert,
I want to know ,how to find out the target component and target view in WEB UI,when i click on a field which shows as a hyper link in WEB UI .At GUI level ,i know the how it will work.Any way to find out the component name and view name which is show the details of that field at GUI level .IF you go to transaction CRMD_ORDER then open the service contract id .then goto the item level value .there is 1 service data tab is available at item level.there is two button is available.first one is available time and second one is response time .if i click on any button then one popup is open which is shows the details of that button.I dont know how to find out the component name and view name from GUI level.
Thanks in Advance....
Vishwas SahuHi Vishwa,
The control would be something like this for navigation in Get_p_xxx method u mention as link and u mention a event name which gets triggered on the click of this hyperlink. So your GET_P_XXX method would have the following code:
CASE iv_property.
WHEN if_bsp_wd_model_setter_getter=>fp_fieldtype.
rv_value = cl_bsp_dlc_view_descriptor=>field_type_event_link.
WHEN if_bsp_wd_model_setter_getter=>fp_onclick.
rv_value = 'EXAMPLE'.
Now you have to create a method as EH_ONEXAMPLE at your IMPL class and within which you would give an outbound plug method. Within the outbound plug the target data would be filled in the collection and window outbound plug would be triggered.
This is a huge topic and i have just mentioned you basic things.

Bharathy. -
Difference between component configuration and application configuration in webdynpro
what is the difference between component configuration and application configuration in webdynpro?
Hi Rohit,
With the component configuration, you can control the behavior of each individual component within a Web Dynpro application or the user interface of individual views. For each component, several records of configuration data can be created.
Using the application configuration, it is now possible to assign the configuration required in the current application to all the components used.
In short : Component Config belongs to WDP Component and Appl'n Config. belongs to WDP Appl'n.
Check this document for more information.
Web Dynpro for ABAP - Component and Application Configuration

How can I include a portal component look and feel in a java servlet
Does any body know how can i include a portal component look and feel (tables, buttons, etc) in a java servlet?
Hi José,
I don't think that is possible. But you can import the css files that ep uses for its look and feel and try to give your web pages similar look and feel. The tables and other controls used in EP are totally different and are done through complex JavaScript coding instead of simple HTML tags. If you want exact lok and feel then i thin you must go for a Webdynpro based application rather then a J2EE application with JSPs.

Guru.

Are roles in SXMS_CONF_ITEMS and SLD consistent?
hello!
i installed and configured my new XI system.
when i go in Runtime Workbench (via browser) i see an error in result of Integration Engine monitor .
"Are roles in SXMS_CONF_ITEMS and SLD consistent?"
i check all in SLD and i think is ok.
have you any suggestion?
thanks
AlexThe role of a business system is defined centrally in the SLD.
However, you can overwrite this setting locally in the table SXMS_CONF_ITEMS.
This test checks whether the role descriptions are consistent. If not, the locally defined role is used at runtime.
if helpful reward points are appreciated -

Using QuickSizer tools on http://service.sap.com/quicksizer, I can see that there is no specific option to analyze
