Sylvia,
I cannot comment on PrE 3, as I did not start until PrE 4. With the latter, when one went to use one of the modules, they were automatically "registered." Based on comments in the Help file, I asked pretty much this same question, back then. All was done automatically, in PrE 4.
Maybe those, familiar with PrE 3, can be of help to you.

Gap in ibase component number by using FM 'CRM_IBASE_COMP_CREATE'

Hi,
i've created a program which creates components for existing IBase from a flat file.
For the creation im using the fm 'CRM_IBASE_COMP_CREATE' and it's working fine.
The problem right now is, that is have a gap in the component number. For instance i create 3 components for one IBase and the component numbers than are 9001, 9003, 9005.
Anybody knows why i have that gap??

IBase component number changed

Good day!
After applying SP18 on Solution Manager I have encountered a problem: iBase component number for productive ERP-system has changed three times.
(first it was 50, then 250, then 268, now 691).
Right now the process for keeping up to date information about
satellite systems in Solution Manager is following:
1.All system data is stored at System Landscape Directory (SLD).
2.Once an hour it's automatically transfered to SMSY in Solution Manager via
scheduled task - RSGET_SMSY.
3.After that (or every time SMSY is saved) iBase is updated.
Main question is, why did existing iBase component (productive ERP was
always in list of iBase components) change its number?
How to prevent this from happening in the future?

Please check weather ibase is generated for the development system in IB52, Check the Note 1284794 - SMSY: IBase generation cannot be deactivated.
if Ibase is created for the development system , go to DSWP and the solution that u have maintained the satelite system and do the initial data transfer for Ibase(path would be edit->initial data transfer for Ibase)

Component number demand in MD04 missing

A packaging number in a material bom has stopped generating demand in MD04. It is still in the BOM and has all of the settings that other materials packaging numbers have. When a MD41 is ran for the material a summary of components is listed, and that packaging number is not calculated, or listed. Why has this one particular packaging number stopped generating demand?

If the master data has not been changed and you have deleted and recreated the BOM, then there is little else that can be causing the problem.
Is there any difference in the stock levels of each material?
Create a planning file entry for the component with MD20 and set the NETCH flag on (and the other flags too, to make sure that it will be included in the next MRP run)
Also check the settings on the MRP run, make sure that the planning mode is a 2 or ideally a 3, so that the BOM for the main material will be re-exploded.

Hi Sam,
You mean to say u want to get the associated person to that Partner.
Which we define as Role type in CRM.
Say a person ABC is having a team lead XYZ , then you can use the table BUT050 and give the relation ship type key value
Partner ABC must be associated with Team Lead XYZ with some BP Role.
Ask it from your fucntional and use a select query to get that Team Lead name.

Cost component split: incorrect allocation of by-product generated

Hi everyone,
I have a question involving the costs of by-products generated and their allocation on the cost component split.
Suppose that a production order, besides the main product, also generates a secondary product. By-products in standard system are confirmed with movement type 531. In transaction OMJJ this movement is linked to key GBB / ZOF. This key is assigned to a G/L account and this account is assigned to a cost element in OKTZ.
Example:
GBB / ZOF > G/L account 1000 > Cost component 10
Thus, the by-product generated should be allocated to the cost component number 10.
However, this does not happen. These costs are allocated to another cost component. This is because SAP ERP appears to use the key GBB / VBR to calculate the cost component split.
To summarize: for accounting purposes the system uses the GBB / ZOF (which is correct!), but in the cost component structure the system seems to use the GBB / VBR (which makes the costs of by-product being incorrectly assigned).
GBB / ZOF > G/L account 1000 > Cost component 10 (used ONLY for accounting purposes).
GBB / VBR > G/L account 2000 > Cost component 20 (it seems to be used in cost component split). INCORRECT!
Can anyone confirm whether that statement proceeds?

This behaviour is corect.... Consumption accounts are used in Cost Comp Str (CCS)
GBB-ZOF is actualy sort of COGM accounts specified in GBB-AUF which is used to Credit the order at the time of GR from prod order
Just the way, AUF is not used in CCS, ZOF is also not used...
You need to maintain separate account in GBB-VBR for the consumption of By Products... For this, the val class of By products need to be separate
Else, if yu dont wanna do this - have a separate Origin Group in the Mat Master of By products and You can assign the Combo of GL Account + Origin Group to a separate Cost Component

Add component in task list

Hello All,
I have an issue with adding component in task list (for example task list number EIMN-68) via transaction IA05.
When I try to add component to operation, I get the message *
Standard BOM PAEIMN-68 4 already exists
Message no. 29771
Diagnosis
You want to create a standard BOM for standard object PAEIMN-68 with usage .
A BOM already exists for this standard object and usage. You cannot extend a standard a standard BOM.
Procedure
Check whether the standard BOM is suitable for standard object PAEIMN-68 and usage . If it is not, you need to create the BOM for another standard object.
Is there any special way to create material master for such components.Whats the solution.

I want to add components.
Just now I was able to add components. I explain how:
When i added component number in operation, and press enter, system gave me the error that standard bom already exist. In the same screen I changed the BOM usage to 3 as universal usage. After this usage only, system allowed me to add components. No other bom usage allowed me to do so.
Also, why system took me to BOM screen if I just want to add components.

Finding bom component item stufe = 1 without subitems

To determine if a component in the production order is relevant for the paint dispatch list:
For a Production Order, after retrieving all the components (children) of the header material utilize function module CLSE_SELECT_AUSP. Pass the following information under the import parameters:
Function Group: CLSE
Function Module: CLSE_SELECT_AUSP
Import Parameters:
KLART   = 001   (Hard-coded) (ZERO, ZERO, ONE)
     OBJEK =    (Component number from production order Item) – RESB-MATNR
MAFID = O (Hard-coded) (The letter O)
          KEY_DATE = (BOM Explosion Date) – CAUFV AFKO-AUFLD
Returns:
          Table = T_AUSP
          Field = ATWRT
          T_AUSP-ATWRT
Then the following logic should apply:
     IF T_AUSP-ATWRT = OPTPNTD THEN this component (RESB-MATNR) is relevant for the dispatch list.

Serial number search in Web IC in CRM 2007

Hi guys,
I am searching for a serial number in Web IC. The search is successful. However on confirming the IObject, the business partner ( Sold to ) associated with the I Object is not found.
However the same thing works if I use the Installed base component number to which the I Object has been assigned.

Hi Ashish,
Normally, partners will be attached to the IBase rather than the Iobject. And when you perform a search on an IObject, the IBase info will be displayed as well and so is the partners attached to the IBase. Usually, serial number will be the IObject name which when you search for it in IC web, you'll get the Ibase and partners. I am not sure why yours is not showing. Probably you can debug the method eh_onconfirm where the bp search is being perform; lv_bp_col = get_businesspartners( ).

Reg. Component list of planned order

Hi All,
My requirement is i need a simple components list of planned order similar to COOIS - Component list, but not with all information.
Only I need the list of components planned order wise with component number, quantity, Sloc, Header material number, Production line and Production start and end dates.
To achieve this I am going for Z report development, I found the BAPI-BAPI_PLANNEDORDER_GET_DETAIL has all information what I need.My question is does this BAPI is fetching the values of component from the reservation table against that planned order number.Meaning does this BAPI output of Components and RESB output for that planned order will be same?

Yes both results are the same if you check the RESB table with reference to the planned order number for which you have fetched data from BAPI BAPI_PLANNEDORDER_GET_DETAIL, both are the quantities are same, Also you can see the same in MD12/MD13, but when you check the RESB table only input as one of the component assigned in Planned order , then the quantities will differ,
The result will be the same only in case when you execute the data from table RESB with respect to the planned order number( given input in BAPI).

Delete just the component of BOM

Hello Experts
Here is the requirement. I want to delete BOM component and not the entire BOM.
Is there any FM which can be used to delete component by giving posnr, component number, etc......The BOM maintain with FLDELETE = X is not working for deleting the component. I guess, it is used only for flagging for deletion from a specific date (Valid_FROM) rather than deleting entirely.Any help with example source code is really appreciated.
