Component reference point in ultiboard

The default setting for component reference point is the center of PIN 1 of the part. however, for many SMT machines, it reference to the center of the component (not a pin).
How doImodify it without going through every component in the database?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

The PIN 1 reference point gets used for positioning the part on your layout. When you export the centroid file, you will see the coordinates for the center of the component.
I prefer to know where that center is so I don't get surprised by oddball SMT coords. This is yet another reason why we maintain our own corporate database of footprints, with the reference point set to the center (or nozzle pick-up point) of the component.

  • Flash UI Component Reference Point-Can It Be Changed?

    When an image loads into the UI Component with the scaleContent parameter checked, it centers itself. With scaleContent unchecked, the images import in at the upper left corner If Is there a way to have the images load in at the upper right point? I, of course, changed the Registration/Transformation Point but this has had absolutely no effect. I'm using CS5 if it matters. Thanks for your help.

    no you can not.
    it's best to order it with the maximum RAM allowable.
    as for the storage, you can always buy an external drive and save your files there.

  • How do I link a reference point in one PDF to a specific page in a different PDF? I want it to open link in a new window AT the specific page.

    I have a paper with multiple reference points that I need to link to 3 other pdfs. Each time I create a link in the master PDF, I need to open a file in a new window and point to a specific page in the other pdf. I cannot get it to work.

    Hmmmm, just tried that and used the magnify glass to capture the specific page in the second pdf, but when I tried the link, it doesn't open a new window, it sits within the original pdf and I can't go back to the page I need to. What am I missing/

    In photoshop elements 6, as far as i know, you can only change the Reference Point Location for transforms using the small grid in the left hand corner of the tool options bar with Transform enabled.

  • Set reference point for multiple objects in the middle of the document

    Hello Community,
    I want to mirror a layout.
    So I:
    1. Select all the objekts
    2. Set the reference point to the middle
    3. Mirror the objects
    BUT
    The reference point is the middle of all the OBJECTS. That leads to several objects crossing the border of my document because the layout isn't spread out evenly.
    I want to middle of the DOCUMENT to be the reference point. How can I do that?
    Thanks
    Christian

    Have you fiugured this out on your own?
    I just played around a bit and found a method, but it's not exactly intuitive. Select the object(s), then switch to the Rotate tool. The center of rotation will be defined as one of the transformation handles, but you can drag it to anywhere you like, so move it to the point that you want as the center of your mirror. Hold down the Alt/Opt key, and click the reflect button to make a mirrored copy. Without the modifier key the original objects will mirror their position around the repositioned reference.

  • How do I keep the Reference Point setting at top, left

    The nine-by-nine grid in the top left corner (where the vertical and horizontal rulers meet) won't stay selected as the top left setting depending on what I select in my document. Sometimes it's the top left, sometimes it's the bottom right and sometimes it's the top middle. How can I set it so that every box I select in a document will give me the top left reference point (X-Y coordinate)?
    I'm proofing a document to make sure it's set-up correctly and all the page-heading colored boxes are  starting at the same X-Y coordinate, have the same width and the next box down on the page starts at the proper location. None of these boxes were created on a master page so I have to check each one. (And even if they were, they've all been released from the master to change their colors and place images.) In other words, on one page there is a colored box across the top that is 10p6 high, so the next box down (vertically) needs to start at the X-Y coordinate of 0, 10p6. But when I click on it the reference point is not always at the top left. So I click on the box, then click on the top left reference point, check the X-Y location and height of the box, then click on the next box down the page and click on the top left reference point and compare the X-Y location to the previous box's height.
    I have selected the top left reference point with no documents open to set that as my default preference but I didn't create this document.

    @Peter / @FergyMac – in case of rotated objects the reference point will change from object to object.

  • Reference point in Non Cumulative

    Hello ,
    What is reference point which is used inventory?
    If i compress with Marker update option enabled and
    if want to see the values for the previous month after compression will it give the previous month value or how it will be?
    Thanks in advance!
    Points will be assigned!
    Regards
    Ram

    Hi,
    The noncum would not contain any data, but instead would track additions to inventory (inflow) and consumption from inventory (outflow). We use the same concept on AR for debits and credits to have a balance at a specific date.

  • AppleScript to change artboard reference point? CS5

    Hi,
    I'm very new to scripting - just stumbled across it as I was researching tools to tackle an extremely repetitive project. One of the functions I should very much like to automate is changing the artboard reference point to top-left and then set the x and y values to 0. Is this possible? I couldn't seem to get it to record or insert into an action.
    Thank you so much in advance!

  • Snap object reference point to grid

    For instance the center of a circle or rectangle.
    According to this discusssion it's not possible:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/3759721#3759721
    How can I define a reference point in an arbitrary object
    or in a group of objects and snap this to the grid?
    Best regards  --Gernot Hoffmann

    Thanks for all contributions, much appreciated.
    I'm apologizing for not giving points, in my opinion it's a
    somewhat childish concept.
    Mike #1+ #4, thanks for taking the time.
    Carlos #5: this doesn't work here with Snap to Grid.
    It works with Snap to Point. This is a true alternative,
    probably intended by the programmers.
    I'm still using CS2, there may be a difference.
    JET #9: thanks for the hint. Making ten years long
    arrowheads in PageMaker manually, I had missed
    the possibilities in InDesign. 'Help' doesn't mention
    arrows or arrowheads. It's a feature in Stroke, simply
    accessible by Start and End.
    The very good news is this: Adding an arrowhead to
    a line doesn't make it longer!
    Perhaps the Illustrator staff should consult the InDesign
    experts...
    Problems solved - I can use InDesign and my own Post-
    Script graphis for docs like this:

  • Can one reference points to many objects?

    HI friend:
    Can I use one object reference points to all objects defined in same class? Because sometimes I only want to access some instance methods and they require a object reference to access. And it doesn't matter which object it is. For example:
    I have a table class:
    public class Table
    int tableNo;
         int tableSize;
         String tableSta;
         String reserName;
         public Table(int n, int s, String c)
              tableNo = n;
                        tableSize = s;
                        tableSta = c;
    Somewhere in the future, I will define a search method (a non-static method) inside table class and it doesn't really matter which object I use to call this method. Because the searching target is all the objects of this Table class. Is it possible to create 50 table objects from another class and use one object reference points to all these objects created and use that reference to access the search method?
    Here is the coding in another class:
    for (int i=1; i<=20; i++)
                   table = new Table(i, 2, "vacant");
                   for (int i=21; i<=30; i++)
                   table = new Table(i, 4, "vacant");
    for (int i=31; i<=50; i++)
                   table = new Table(i, 8,"vacant");
    Can I use table as object reference to access search method?

    Because if the method is static, it can't process instance variables, such as Table objects. But when I implement the search() method, it should search all table objects. That's why I don't want make the method static. :-)

  • How do I lock a reference point?

    I need the reference point to always be in the top left hand corner. How do I do it?
    THanks in advance

    Thank you for the response.
    With the selection tool active there is a little grid of 9 square dots in the extreme left of the toolbar. On my previous installation this was always set to the top left square. I have now installed CS3 onto a new machine, Mac Snow Leopard, and it defaults to the centre square everytime I open a document. I find this very irritating when scaling images and would like to have the previous condition. How I did it the 1st time I do not know.

  • Reference point

    Hi Friends,
    Hope all are doing well,
    I hv one doubt.
    We maintain the reference point in network activity(in assignment tab) for BOM transfer.
    When I am going to enter any value suppose A there I am getting the error as
    Entry A does not exist in TCNRFP --check entry.So now
    I want to ask that whether reference point is maintained by PS person if yes then how can I do this and if not then what I shud do?
    Help will be rewarded.
    Regards

    Hello Amit,
    It is required define reference points in customizing before using the same in application.
    Only those reference points are allowed for useage. However, you are free to use same reference in multiple projects.
    Path is SPRO--- Project Sys -
    Material --- Bill of MAterial --- Define reference points for BOM transfer.
    However, there also provision to define user specific fields as reference points. Any field which is common in activity and BOM item level can be used. Should define it in customizing.
    Path is SPRO--- Project Sys -
    Material --- Bill of MAterial --- Define field in BOM and activity as reference points.
    Example: can be Sort string or any other field.

  • Custom Reference Point in CS5

    I just upgraded from CS3, in which I used to be able to click anywhere on an object with the scale or rotate tools in order to set a custom reference point. Now I can’t do that (unless I hold the option key, which brings up the settings box—which I don’t want). Having to drag the reference point is a hassle. What happened to the functionality of simply clicking to set a new reference point?
    One CS5 help article says, "Or, with one of these tools [scale, rotate, shear] selected, click anywhere on the object or page. The reference point moves to that location.” That’s exactly the behavior I was expecting, but I can’t get it to work at all.
    Any help much appreciated!

    Unfortunately, you've described exactly exactly waht the new options are, and it's not pretty. Find something new that you do like, and then call it even. You'll feel better.
