Component TV Out

So I ended up buying the Component Cable without reading at all about it and I am so ****** off. Want to confirm from experienced users here that TV Out is application specific ?
And come to think of it, Apple's own MobileMe apps like Gallery dont have this feature which is so lame...the only way I was able to show pictures on TV was to save them locally on the iPad and use the Photos app to stream out.
Any ideas or recommendations on how people are using this feature to the fullest ?

You just need the apps that support video out. Besides the native Video, YouTube apps there is GoodReader that can display most document via video out and Perfect Browser and Expedition Browser that support video out.

  • Is there a COMPONENT video OUT solution for the iBook?

I am currently using Apple's Video Adapter (mini-VGA to S-Video) to hook up to my widescreen. Let's face it, S-Video *****. I am trying to find a solution that would allow me to get component video out of my iBook and run that into my widescreen.
Is there a VGA->Component Video Adapter available that would work with the mini-VGA -> VGA adapter that ships with the iBook? (Or some other way to get a component video signal?)
    Thanks!
    iBook G4 1.2GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.3)   1.25 GB RAM

    Hi Mactivist,
i am not an expert on this video stuff but I think
you might find this useful. Although the
procedure described is about a Mac Mini (which has a
dvi connector) the guy actually used a DVI-VGA
adapter. Therefore, I believe, the set-up described
    should work for you too.

Unfortunately, iBooks do not have DVI out. What I really need is a VGA to Component video adapter.
And for the person who wasn't sure what a component video cable looks like, this is a cable that has 3 rca-like plugs on it, each one supplies a different color (RGB I think).
So far, I've not found a VGA adapter that can do this unless you are using an ATI video card as the source.

  • Intel iMac Component Video Out

Has anyone tried a component video out connection to an HDTV from the Intel iMac? I've read from the ATI website that the new Radeon X1600 card supports component video out with an adapter.
There was never a really good way to do this with previous Mac models.

A little more news about component out from the Intel iMac 20"
The VGA adapter included with my 12" iBook does not fit the mini-dvi port on the iMac. So you need to buy a new adapter from Apple.
    Also:
I tried using a VGA-to-component cable with the iBook VGA adapter and a standard television set. The cable is designed to interface a component-out DVD player to a VGA-in BenQ projector. I ran the cable to the component-in jacks on my Sanyo (analog-non HD) television. No go. Tried several resolutions and adapter refresh rates, and got some smeared video, but it made me nervous and I stopped experimenting. Haven't tried this cable with my HDTV for fear of damage.
Basically, the cable was meant to take a video signal from the DVD player to the projector. My experiment was mac to TV.
So sad, oh so sad ;<

  • Which cable for 8800GT Component TV-Out?

    Hi all,
I just wondered what kind of cable you require to utilize the Component TV Out plugs of the connector shipped with the card. I know you have to use a Male / Male plug for the S-Video, but I can't find the Component equivalent. What would that be called?
    Thanks in advance.

Are you referring to this cable? :
If so it's an S-video to HDTV cable.

  • IPhone component AV out cable problems..

    Hello!
I recently bought an Apple component AV out cable and was very excited when it came this morning. Upon opening it I realized that the TV out had 3 different connectors (green, red & blue) and my TV only has 1 which is yellow!
Is there any way to make this work? Or should I just give up and return it?

    Welcome to the forums.
Component inputs are three connectors -- they comprise the red, green and blue "guns" of the output. What you are seeing on your TV is composite input. You either need to purchase the composite video cable (which is the same price) or a converter from a third party (which will cost more or about the same as the cable).
You can look around the back of your TV to see if you might have component inputs elsewhere -- nearly all modern TVs (about the last two or three years) have component inputs, particularly if they are larger than 24" or so.

    hi.
what can i let the component display out of the bound of applet, just like the list at choice.

use the java.awt.Window class. IE gives you a "warning applet window" on the bottom, but Netscape does not.

  • IPhone 4 Component/VGA Out Question

Apps like "Showanytime" show picture examples of the iPhone being used
with a VGA cable to view things on a monitor or tv.
The only VGA cable @ the Apple store is "iPad only".
A "Genius" there told me the only compatable cables for iPhone4
are the component cables as the VGA iPad one will not work with it...
Is this true? If so, what cable are they using in the Showanytime app example?
Trying to hook my iPhone4 up to a computer monitor.
    Thanks for the help!

    It's not 'iPad only".

  • Audio out options question - HDMI + component?

I have looked thru the manual and forums, but have not seen the answer to my question.
If I hook an ATV to my TV with HDMI, and also use the Right and Left (red and white component) audio out cables to my stereo (which does not have TOS link digital audio capability), will I get sound delivered to BOTH units at the same time? Basically, I'd like sound to go to my TV and my stereo.
I see in the ATV manual that it is possible to use HDMI and digital audio out. DVI video and component audio out, but I need HDMI video/audio AND component audio out.

The easiest way to accomplish this is to use the HDMI cable from the ATV to the TV and then export the sound from the TV with with either RCA, toslink, or digital audio out cables to your stereo. That is what I do at home. I have a DVR cable box, DVD player, and PS3 Blue Ray player and a HD video camera all hooked up via HDMI to a HDMI hub to the TV and then I can switch the stereo from either the TV audio out (all of the above) or the airport express where I stream music to the Stereo. There is no doubt that the sound quality from the BR HDMI cable of the PS3 has a superior sound.
A tech at curcuit city told me there is a difference in sound between, a expensive Monster HDMI cable and the less expensive cables now available on line, but I have not tried a A/B comparison yet, but am planing to do so. $50-60$ vrs. a few dollars on line aftermarket.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error while running SDK Component on Server Side

    hello,
I have a SDK Issue. I've created a gauge using jgauge ( jgauge - jGauge is a dial gauge that is simple, powerful, and 100% javascript and css. - Google Project Hosting ) in a SDK Component, and it's work fine in Localhost, In order to change the Image of the gauge, I've used 64bit convertor and the out come is this:
the problem start when I've upload it to the server and tried run the Dashboard on Open Document / LanchPad.
the component came out really messed up, all the canvas component created by the application are scattered:
The problem repeats in every browser (EI, Mozila, Chrome). Product info:
    Design Studio 1.2 SP01
    BO 4.1 SP02
have anyone faced this kind of problem or any other problem in uploading SDK component to server?
    thanks.

I think you problem is on the following error.
    Manifest fetch failed (404)http://***/BOE/OpenDocument/1312081147/zenwebclient/manifest.appcacheopenDocument.faces?logonSuccessful=true&shareId=0bttoken=MDAwRGoxU2JUMTtMVFZZXTFQRG1MRzBLTDQ5YWpvM…:1
Because all the others there i see on my SDK and it works.
When you execute it locally, those same errors appears?
And I have no clue what you have wrong there, but since the error mentions the MANIFEST, you should take a look there, here is example of one working.
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Bundle-ManifestVersion: 2
    Bundle-Name: ComboBox
    Bundle-SymbolicName: com.leandro.gp.combobox;singleton:=true
    Bundle-Version: 2.3
    Require-Bundle: com.sap.ip.bi.zen.rt.components.sdk.eclipse
    Bundle-Vendor: Leandro
Make sure that the SymbolicName and Bundle Version are the same as in your contribution.xml.
    Hope this helps.

  • Sharepoint 2013 search component best practice

    hi
With a big SharePoint 2013 farm:
    2 WFE
    2 App server
2 Search App server (havent set up these servers yet)
What would the best way to divide the search componment between the two serarch app servers?
    Crawl component
Crawls content sources to collect crawled properties and metadata from crawled items and sends this information to the content processing component.
    Content processing component
Transforms the crawled items and sends them to the index component. This component also maps crawled properties to managed properties.
    Analytics processing component
Carries out search analytics and usage analytics.
    Index component
Receives the processed items from the content processing component and writes them to the search index. This component also handles incoming queries, retrieves information from the search index and sends back the
result set to the query processing component.
    Query processing component
Analyzes incoming queries. This helps optimize precision, recall and relevance. The queries are sent to the index component, which returns a set of search results for the query.
    Search administration component
Runs the system processes for search, and adds and initializes new instances of search components.
If you ignore the need for redunancy (we may add another 2 search app servers for that later).

    Bjorn

    Hi Bjorn,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to deploy the search components in two search app servers.
It depends on how many search service applications you need and the size of your environment.
Here is a link about how to configure topology for one search service application with multiple search components across 2 servers for redundancy and performance:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/chandru/archive/2013/02/19/sharepoint-2013-configuring-search-service-application-and-topology-using-powershell.aspx
You can also run the Query Processing component in web front server and run the other components in the search servers or application servers.
Please refer to the link below:

  • DVI Component to HDTV : no setting works

I have a DVI to component video cable connected to the DVI port on my Mac Pro running out to the component input of my HDTV. The video card is the X1900. Leopard detects this as a VGA display. Wierd considering its not VGA but whatever. I get signal to the HDTV but I can't seem to find a resolution/refresh rate setting that works. Every setting I try shows an unusable picture. I believe for television the refresh rate needs to be 60hz. I checked the specs of the X1900 and it does, in fact, support component video out. This is from their website (http://ati.amd.com/products/Radeonx1900/specs.html):
    * Content-adaptive de-flicker filtering for interlaced displays
    * Xilleon™ TV encoder for high quality analog output
    * YPrPb component output for direct drive of HDTV displays
    * VGA mode support on all outputs
    * Drive two displays simultaneously with independent resolutions and refresh rates
The card is capable so it must be a Leopard thing right? Could the issue be related to the fact that its being detected as a VGA display?

Is there any indication at all that the Mac sees the Grundig? In Displays preferences there should be an "Arrangement" tab and you should also be seeing two sets of timings. If the Mac is not seeing it at all, you may need to exchange the Mini DVI to DVI adapter for a Mini DVI to VGA adapter and hook up to the TV by VGA.
Does the Grundig user manual mention computer connections? Usually the manual would say which input port is suitable to connect to a computer.
