  • What software works with the old 7290

I just want to move pictures and ringtones back and forth from my computer to my old 7290 and for the life of me I can't figure out which software works with this old model. I have tried several of the newer applications offered by RIM but none of them weem to work with this older model. Any ideas?

You should be able to 'see' the BlackBerry memory in the Meida Manager, and you can transfer small files to the Content Store on the BlackBerry using the Media Manager. Just remember that you are using the base memory on the BlackBerry for media files and you shouldn't get too crazy with files transferred to it.
Try installing v4.2 Service Pack 2 and using the Media Manager and seeing if the BlackBerry device memory option shows up at the bottom of the screen. When you open the memory you should see some file folders and you should store the files directly into the file folder appropriate to the media, and not use folders inside the original folder so the BB will 'see' the files when you use your Profile options to select ringtones or background photos.

  • Mac book pro -intel duo  - will my old software work with it?

Not sure if I should get the 2.4 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo Mac book pro as I have heard old software will not work on it and I really do not want to have to buy new software, just to add on to the cost.
    Can anyone help.
The software I have that I want to work with it is:
    Micro Soft Office Version 10.0.0
    Photoshop Version 7.0
Final cut Pro HD Version 4.5
I am have OS X TIGER 10.4.6 although the operating system that will come with the new Mac book Pro will be leopard - I guess.
Can any one help with my dilemma?
    THANKS

Microsoft Office v.X will work fine, Adobe Photoshop 7 should be able to do its thing as well although you might have problems installing it (some of the Adobe installers don't work right). However, it's not recommended that you use less than FCP 5.1.
Sure having to upgrade software is a pain and can substantially add to the cost of transitioning to Intel system but as time most applications will need to be upgraded anyway. It just pushes the costs forward a bit. Just remember you pay upgrade costs and not new package costs.

  • Does Server Monitor software work with Mac Pros?

Last time we were purchasing a new server we noticed that Server Monitor doesn't work with Power Macs. Is this still the case with the latest Intel-based Mac Pros?

    Hi again Christiaan-
Just to clarify, are you saying that OSX Server is running on the Power Mac and you are using another computer to connect?
If so, which version of each software and which Power Mac?
I am curious as I've had no problem with said configuration.

Thanks a lot for your response, how do i delete this file?
The file is on your PC. Open Windows Explorer and select Find, then choose to find vendor.xml on the C: disk. click on it, then hit the Delete key on your PC keyboard.

  • Now that iBiz is not compatible with Mavericks, what type of accounting software works with ical.

I use iBiz for a small business that tracks appointments and expenses.  I don't need payroll.  Most importantly, I need the software to communicate with calendar since I have to keep my partner's calendar up to date and he uses calendar on his iphone.  Now that iBiz is phasing out, I would like to find a replacement.

  • Can I get a plug-in to make old software work with Lion?

Uploaded and install Lion 10.7.2 onto my MacBook (2.4ghz, 2GB).  Got it running, then discovered numerous, mostly photography-related software, no longer works.  Pretty peeved.  This includes:
Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, VersionCue and Illustrator
EOS Viewer Utility and Digital Photo Professional (for my Canon camera)
    Acrobat 6.0 Professional
    AppleWorks
    Corel Painter
    Microsoft Office
    Real Player
I cannot afford to just buy new licenses so will have to switch back to Snow Leopard unless they fix this.  Will I get my $30 back?  Any ideas?
    Thanks.

I've discovered that all of these applications (programs) are PowerPC and are not supported within OS X Lion.  Is there a Rosetta plug-in that one can get?  Any news about Apple updated Lion to include one? Any other things I can try?
There is now and will never be any way for PowerPC apps to run on Lion.
You'll need to go back to Snow Leopard.
Call Apple and ask for a refund on your Lion Purchase

  • Do QuarkXPress7 and other professional software work with Leopard?

Somebody knows if installing Leopard on my iMac QuarkXPress7, Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0. Adobe Acrobat still work correctly or there are problems of compatibility?
    Thanks

OK - got Appleworks Save As working sort of normally after a second re-install and upgrade to v6.2.9. There is still a quirk regarding the file extension. If you don't enter a name before choosing a format, the default name will be "untitled..". Notice the two dots. If you enter a name first, then choose the format, you will get "Yourname." with a single dot. If you try to enter an extension in the naming box as you could under 10.4 and earlier, AW doesn't like it and will tell you the required extension is "'.". What you want to do is make sure the name in the box has no dots and no extension.
The file will now be saved just as it was when running AW under 10.4. It will be in the proper format, except that there will be no extension to the file name. The default application to open it will be AppleWorks. If you want it to open with a different application you can add the appropriate extension and/or choose a different default application by doing a Get Info on the file and making the changes there.

  • Does Lion software work with Microsoft Office

After I upgraded to Lion i noticed that my MS OFFICE was not compatible. Is this fixable without purchasing new software?

I suspect you were running MS Office for Mac 2004, that will not run in Lion because it was written for PPC (Power PC) computers. Without going into a long explanation if you are running Office for Mac 2004 no it will not work and you will need to upgrade to Office for Mac 2011.The good news is all your files are safe though. You can find Office for Mac 2011 discounted at many places including Amazon. You can think of it this way, you paid about $150 about 7 years ago. That means you paid about $1.78 per month so you have gotten your money's worth!

  • Does sveasoft or DD-WRT (extend range software) work with Linksys WRT54G Routers?

    Hi,
I'm interested in finding out if my WRT54G Linksys Router is one of the Linksys "G" class that can use second party software to extend it's range?
I found these two sites doing a Google search: sveasoft.com or DD-WRT that offer such software.
So, is my router one that can use their software?  If not which routers are compatible with this software.
I really would like to extend the range on my router, have a stronger signal.  Thanks.

Check their sites. Usually they provide info if your router is compatible with their firmware or not.

  • Does pocketmac software work with my Curve?

trying to use pocketmac desktop software to sync my ical and address book to my new Curve via a brand new USB cord. I keep gettng an error message that says...
The "pocket sync manager" window says... synchronization failed
and I get  a pocketsync manager pop up warning window that says...unable to connect to blackberry (error 1) skipping

There is a solution for this.  You have one of the newer devices that needs an extra patch. Here's how to get that:
First, visit the download page: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/mac.jsp
and start the download process again. As you move to the download screen, select PocketMac V4.0.20b for BlackBerry. Then, on the next screen, you have two program choices to download.
You have probably already downloaded the first one, under the heading "PocketMac v4.0.20b for BlackBerry." If you have erased it, go ahead and download it again.
Since you have one of the newest devices (like the 8110, 8120, 8130, 8310 or 8330), you may also need to download the patch that allows you to connect to those as well. That patch is on the same page, under the heading, "PocketMac Driver update -- DriverUpdate.dmg."
    TO INSTALL:
    1. IMPORTANT: Disconnect your BlackBerry from your Macintosh.
    2. If you uninstalled PocketMac for BlackBerry, reinstall the main program now.
    3. When the installer is finished, you will be prompted to restart. DO NOT click the restart button.
    4. Install the Driver Update file please, this installer will complete very quickly.
    5. Finally, restart the Macintosh now that the software application and driver updater installers have been completed.
After the restart is complete, please launch PocketMac for Blackberry, then plug-in your BlackBerry handheld. Click the Sync button to begin the synchronization session.
If you still can't connect, here are some steps you can perform to make sure the new patch is installed correctly:
    1. Please unplug your BlackBerry and count to 60 seconds. This allows the
driver to completely release. (Likely, the driver wasn't released last time you tried installing the patch, so the new one didn't install correctly.)
    2. Please open Finder, and locate the following folder: MacintoshHD/System/Library/Extensions/.
    3. Within the "Extensions" folder, you will see a list of .kext files. scroll down the very long list, and locate the two files that start with "BlackBerry" files.
    4. Please remove both of these files from your Mac: "BlackBerry.kext" and "BlackBerryUSBDev.kext". You will need your Apple Administrator user account password to remove these files from the Extensions folder. After you do so, empty your trash, please.
    6. Install the driver again. After you've finished the installer/driver package, please restart your Macintosh.
    7. Finally, plug-in your BlackBerry handheld, then launch PocketMac for BlackBerry. The PocketMac Sync Manager should now be able to find your BlackBerry.
    Have a great day!

  • Should Soundtrack pro 3 (bundled with the studio pro 9 I just bought) load on OS X Lion? Mine isn't. It gives an error saying to check if my software works with the OS.

This isn't a major problem for me as everything else is working but would like to know if it's known to not work on Lion.
    Cheers,
    Karl.

windows is windows does not matter if it's in bootcamp or not
in general one can't update drivers in safe mode
in general one can just install drivers on top of the earlier version

  • Will this game software work with lion??

    its tiger woods pga '12
Here's the link. Thanks a lot!!!

I would assume, because they're metion:
Intel Core 2 Duo (1.8 GHz) (Game will not run on a PowerPC Macintosh)
So it's a Intel game and running with Lion, if you're computer meet the hardware requirements.
