Composite web form creation

Hello gurus,
I have created two webforms and would like to merge these 2 into 1...that is I want to make them composite.
Can you list out the steps to create a composite webform please.

Hi,
For creating Composite Web-form you just have to click create composite button, if you are using 11.1.1.3
If you are using 11.1.2 then you have to click create button inside it click composite radio button and then add simple Data forms

Composite Web Forms/Business Rules

In Planning, I've created a composite web form. Although I've selected the "Use Members on Data Form" box in the business rule properties with in the composite form, when I launch the rule the prompt box doesn't show the division that is represented on the current form, it pre-populates the last division that was used when launching a business rule in a normal web form. This works just fine when I'm in a normal web form, just not a composite. Any ideas of what might be going on? Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing?

I would be careful using business rules in composite forms. There are a bit unstable as composite forms are quite buggy. What you can do is try to apply the 9.3.1.1.8 patch release and see if this does not resolve your issues. This patch covers alot of bugs in 9.3.1 (which I assume is your version) including business rules stability with composite forms and substitution variable usage. Hope this helps point you in the right direction.

Integrate Image-Select to Composite Web Form

Hello,
I try to integrate the ImageSelectComponent to a new web form by using the HowTo-Guide "Creating Component Editors for Composite Web Form Elements", so that the component will be displayed like the HtmlEditorComponent.
That's not so easy as I thought, because I know nothing about the other components.

Did you select Run "Rules from Form XX" in composite Form Business Rule section and select Run on save option ? Can you please provide screenshot of your BR section in Composite form and simple form ??

Composite Web form - Issue with Ordering of dimensions in page section

Hi,
I have 2 simple web-forms having same dimensions in page section and in same order. When I create the compisite web form with these 2 simple webforms and view the same, it come in different order.
Is there any way to get the dimensions in required order / or any solution to this.

Web Form creation Error

Hi,
When I am going to create a web form and click the create button, there comes out an error, when clicking the explorer warning tab, it says
"URL: http://ip:19000/HyperionPlanning/Servlet/HspCreateForm?Application-demo&RND=0.61554385&FOLDERID=9"
Does anybody ever encounter this kind of problem and know how to solve it? Thanks in Advance.

check if something is logged in Planning's sysout or syserror logs.

Business Rule Attached to Composite web form not running

Hi
I created a composite webform and attached a business rule.Rule is supposed to run on save.But its failing to do so.Version is 11.1.2.3.I also tried attaching BR to the individual webforms along with the composite webform.Still not working.
Please give your valuable advice on this.

Multiple Pop-ups while saving composite data form with rules attached

When we open Hyperion Planning from Workspace, and click “Save” on the composite Web Form , the business rules attached to the Web Forms execute as they are set to “Run on Save”. As the rules execute, in Workspace a blank “pop-up” window comes up. The issue we have is that if we have 3 rules attached we get 3 pop-ups and if we have a composite Web Form created using tabs functionality, and if we click Save on one tab, we get a large number of pop-ups as if the rules of ALL tabs ran even though we clicked save on one tab. For example on a composite Web Form with 4 tabs we may get 12 pop-ups. This issue only occurs when opening planning from Workspace.

Meta-data creation via web forms?

Hi,
I know this question would turn out to be more of a would-be-nice to have request for Hyperion Planning. Nonetheless, I would like to confirm that it is not already available in version 11.
Does the new version provide the capability to create meta-data (members or properties) via Hyperion web forms fro Hyperion Planning?
Ofcourse I am fully aware of the downside of the above, just want to make sure.
I know only Dodeca provides such a feature via Excel which I think is pretty cool.

The quick answer is no, you have to remember that planning has to push any metadata changes down to essbase, I am not sure how many would want users constantly changing hierarchies and refreshing planning.
There is always EPMA to manage the metadata.
There is the ability in 11.1.2 to do adhoc analysis on forms and then save them as personalized views

Web Form in Task List and Security

Hi,
I have a couple of specific questions regarding Task List; below is a simplified example of my questions
1. Say, I have a 2 web forms (X,Y) that are part of a Task List 1. Group A has been given access to both web forms X and Y. Group A also has access to Task List 1. Group B has been given access to only web form X. Group B also has access to Task List 1. Now, everything is good for users belonging to Group A. However, users belonging Group B has a specific issue. They still see the "Web form Y" in the Task List Selection on the left. However they cant open the web form Y on the right side which is good.
My question is, is there a way to prevent users from even seeing this "Web Form Y" in the selection list? The problem is they shouldnt even see that particular web form as a choice and moreover this web form that they havent been given access to becomes part of the Task List completion status, forcing them to click on "Complete" for an empty web form.
Is there some setting that could prevent unassigned web forms based on security from showing up in the Task List for various groups (similar to security restricted members not showing up in web forms)? Or is creating several different Task List the only work around?
2. I have started a WorkFlow via FILE->WORKFLOW->MANAGE PROCESS and defined required Scenario and Version members. This seems to work just fine for my created Task Lists with Web Forms. Is there another intermitent process to connect the WORKFLOW with the created Task Lists? Or does Hyperion Planning automatically assume the Task List belong to available WorkFlow?
Another question I have is in the Task List creation menu, when creating an individual Task, there are several options for "Task Type", one of which is WorkFlow. What is the difference between this WorkFlow option and the WorkFlow under the File menu? Is is that the WorkFlow created as Task becomes part of a Task List? Is that the only difference, ie make WorkFlow creation part of Task List versus not part of a Task List?

1. Probably you may try "Manage Security filters", but im not sure. If it doesnt work then no way other than creating two tasklists.
2. FYI, workflow will not promote either tasklist nor the webform. it only promotes the "DATA". u shud be careful creating forms for different level users ex: A basic user entry form cant be created for Next level user say manager. he l want to see only his entity level data not the level 0 in our terms.
3. File->Workflow : will be used to start the workflow by the administerator.
Tasklist Type-> workflow : Will be used by the "users" to promote their subsequent data entered or loaded at their level

First ever Web Form - URL error

Hi. I'm attempting to call my first Web form, but I'm getting this error:

Are Live Web Forms part of Adobe Creative Suite?

I work for a small business and we're looking to use a lot of Adobe's products through the Creative Suite. One thing I need to know before ordering, though, is if the suite allows for use of Live Web forms and response collection. I'm not sure if this is something that has to be paid for separately - although I do see Acrobat Pro is included in the suite. These forms would be used in email marketing. Is there an extra fee or is it all in one?? Thanks.

Illustrator is not working as it should...
I want them to compare the original size and date of creation with what I have installed on my computer... I have installed several times with my original CD and I tried once downloading the files from the adobe site (using my own license). I suspect the files has been modified or renamed on my laptop by an external unauthorized user causing the malfunction of the application.
Customer services does not support CS3 anymore and the updates / patches in the adobe site does not solve the problem... They redirect me to the forums for support...
Presently, my problem is that after creating a swatch and drag it to the swatch panel, it does not fill as it should a new form... Now, after deactivating and activating my license the swatch seems to fill the new form but when the filter that the swatch has is persistence in the next filling object created even though a different color is being used as a fill (X)... Help in the creation of a swatch over the internet just complicate the issue.
That's why I would like to know whether updates on my product are being received or files are being replaced without my knowledge...

Improve web form performance of Hyperion Planning

Slow Performance When Opening Data Forms Using a Dial-Up Connection
Scenario:
Opening a data form using a slow network connection (for example, with a modem) takes a long time.
Solution:
You can significantly increase the network bandwidth when opening data forms by modifying the web.xml file, as described in this section. This solution compresses by approximately 90% the data stream sent from the Planning server to the client.
Note: If you are using a WebLogic (all supported versions) Web application server, complete the second procedure, which is specific to WebLogic. If you are using any other Web application server, complete the first procedure, which contains general instructions.
To modify the web.xml file to improve performance, for any Web application server except WebLogic:
1 With a text editor, open the web.xml file, located in HyperionPlanning.ear or HyperionPlanning.war.
2 After the tag </description> and before the tag <listener>, insert the following lines:

6 Deploy the new HyperionPlanning.ear for the WebLogic Web application server.

Hi,
Yes we did this with a bank which had branches connected to the servers via dial-up. They were complaining about the amount of data being transferred in between branches and servers. This has worked well over there and increased the data transfer performance considerably. However, nowadays the performance bottlenecks are not generally due to the amount of data being transferred over the network but the javascript components that should run on client and heavy calculation/data and report creation processes.

New Web Form Based on Frames for Web Page Composer

Hi,
We are trying to build the below scenario of New Custom Web Form to use in Web Page Composer for Web Site Creation.
We want to use the Web Form for Having Frames in the Output and
Left Frame will contain the Table of Content List
Right Frame Will Have the Details of the Selected Table of Content.
I have Created the XML File and Now Trying to develop the XSL File to use frames.
Any Ideas and Suggesstions on this?

If you export the project as exp file and open it with a zip file reader, you can find your forms under forms/ui/.
I personnaly could always see them whatever the tool (jdev or composer) and the way (file or MDS) i used.

Using CS6 for web mockup creation? Tips on how-to's

Pretty new to Photoshop and running CS6.
I'm looking for a workflow to create web mock-ups in the most efficient and easy way.
What Im looking for is to take an existing web frontend page and tweek it with new sections and components like buttons/menus/new text areas,images etc etc....
are there any specific tools or "web galleries" to use for this purpose that I can incorporate into CS6....not really sure how to form this question in the right way but I hope this sort of exaplined my purpose....creation of good-looking web page design (even if it will jsut be in .psd format)
Any help, tips & tricks would be appreciated.

A web gallery is many web pages you need more then a layered template psd. Templates are more suited for Collages rather then web Galleries. In the bridge output module there are some caned web galleries provided by Adobe there just not very good or a not easy to customize.
There are many web gallery creation tools available on the web some free other cost. If you do a search you will find many. Some use Photoshop in the process they are Photoshop Scripts. Most have some options to customize some features. None that I know of give you complete freedom to create whatever you want. They support their web gallery designs where you can customize features within the designs.
