Composition hides itself immediately after being triggered

After pulling my hair out for several minutes trying to figure out why my submenu items were being triggered before the main menu was being triggered, I stumbled upon a new issue.
I am working with two blank composition widgets; the first acts a blank content area that is then populated by the second composition which acts as the submenu triggers and content areas.
Going by the screenshot attached below, I have the first composition's trigger placed over the "Products" menu item. I have it set to show target on rollover, and to hide on rollout of trigger and target. The second composition covers the 5 submenu options on the left (Corp. Stationary, etc) and each submenu item has its own trigger that brings up a different content area to the right. These submenu items have the same rollover/rollout settings as the main menu. I can tell that these submenu triggers work in the brief moment that the main content area appears before disappearing a split second later. Basically it has just enough time to fade in for the defined amount before fading back out for the defined amount in the trigger menu for the composition.
This behavior occurs in the Muse preview pane, browser preview and published website. Any ideas what would cause this behavior? Everything worked as it should before I corrected the second composition not being inside the first one's content area, so it definitely appears to be some conflict in having two compositions at odds with each other. I've tried every combination I can think of for rollover, rollout, hide initially and triggers on top options, nothing seems to make a difference.

So I wouldn't necessarily say that I solved this, but starting from scratch appears to have everything working properly. It wasn't until the third time trying that it finally started working, however, so I can't say whether it's a bug or just an incredibly specific set of options that ended up derailing the entire menu structure.

  • My iPod classis is not recognized by my Macbook and self-ejects immediately after being plugged in?

    Hello,
I have an iPod classic and I am using a Macbook Pro running Mavericks. Since the last iTunes update i have not been able to connect my iPod to iTunes. I have tried both USB ports and it still won't work. The iPod ejects itself immediately after being plugged in. The usb ports are working, I've tried an iPod touch and an iPhone 4s, so that doesn't seem to be the issue either. Appreciate any help!

    Hi luisxjim,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has some steps that may help if your iPod classic isn't being recognized by your computer:

my iPad mini adapter shorted...I bought a new one but since it charges very slowly and when charged to 100% it falls to 95% immediately after being unplugged...what might be the issue????

When it does that. Replug the charger and charge to 100%. Now does is stay charged when you unplug the charger.
You may need to recalibrate your battery.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

My ipod ejects itself, immediately after connecting with usb cable, before synchronizing could start. What’s wrong?

Have you tried plugging the iPod in with a different USB sync cable to verify the issue is not with the cable?  It might not also hurt to connect it to another USB port as well.
Otherwise, try manually placing the iPod into Disk Mode and then connecting it to your PC.

  • Photoshop CS6 closes itself immediately after launching, please help!

    Hi everyone,
My situation is exactly as the titles says, l launch Photoshop CS6, and the splash logo shows up as normal, and than it will close itself  (as in literally as if l pressed the X button to exit the program; the individual brush windows and such close before shutting down, all of that stuff)
There are no crash reports, and no error messages.
l've been looking online extensively for an answer but l've only found other frustrated users with the same/similar problem that don't have a solution.
l purchased Photoshop along with Illustrator, and inDesign in a bundle, and it is the same situation for those programs too, they close immediately after l launch the program.
This all happened out of the blue, and l'm not sure what else to do.

I don't really understand what l have to do. l don't get any activation or connection errors, and l am already signed in with my Adobe ID.
lt also shows up on my Adobe page too; http://i.imgur.com/eHm6yaU.png
l think that it is activated, but the programs on my computer don't think it is activated.
+ Edit: l made a new account by accident the other day because l forgot about it, so l'm the same person asking the question by the way.

  • Ipod disconnects immediately after being connected to computer

Every time I plug my iPod into my computer it says "Connecting" then it says "Ejecting" and then "OK to disconnect"! WHY????? It does not show up in the sidebar in iTunes, and it does not show up in My Computer.
I have plugged it into every USB port on my computer, none of them worked
    I have already updated iTunes.
I have already put the iPod in disk mode.. that did NOTHING.
I know it's not a problem with my USB ports, because other devices work JUST FINE in them
I know it's not an issue with the USB cable because I plugged my iPod into another computer and my iPod did not disconnect right after being connected
PLEASE help me get my iPod to work on this computer. And I don't want answers telling me to use the other computer. My Library is on THIS computer. Not only that, iTunes doesn't even work on the other computer.

  • Hard drive wakes up immediately after being put into standby

I have an IDE disk which, till now, I used to keep in standby mode (it makes an audible humming noise when it's working which annoys me a lot :<). Today I noticed that after running `hdparm -y' on it, it would spin down but then it would immediately spin up again. I'm certain that the disk isn't being used and doesn't have any partitions mounted anywhere on the filesystem. Still, I'm unable to pinpoint the reason it's waking up.
Any ideas on why this is happening?
Edit: It appears that the disk gets into standby by itself after 10 minutes. I wish I knew where this value is coming from. O.o
Edit2: Those 10 minutes must be coming from `hdparm -S1 /dev/sdb'; maybe the hard drive has a lower limit in regard to this setting. :3
(I'm not sure what kind of information would be useful in order to troubleshoot this issue, but below are some bits I believe are relevant)

Here is what i get when i try that command.:
    $ sudo hdparm -B 254 /dev/sdc
    /dev/sdc:
setting Advanced Power Management level to 0xfe (254)
    HDIO_DRIVE_CMD failed: Input/output error
    APM_level = not supported
I tried other values also and its always the same error.
I just did another try with -y and the drive stayed in standby during ±40 minutes this time. The most annoying part is that is something that was not happening before I am pretty sure that it would stay in standby for days.
I also included my results for hdparm -I.:
    $ sudo hdparm -I /dev/sdc

  • SR MBP Wakes immediately after being put to sleep

    Background:
I've recently been experiencing consistent random sleep failures with my Santa Rosa Macbook Pro. Whether I sleep via the apple menu, or close the lid, the MBP goes through its sleep procedure, then the split second that the MBP latch light begins to breathe, the DVD-drives makes its 'wake up' sound and the MBP powers back on.
Initially I thought my problem was related to an application. Firefox and MSN messenger seemed to consistently cause the problem. Then I found that it can still occur with neither open. It 'seems' that if I turn off my airport immediately prior to sleeping, the MBP will sleep without problems. Sometimes if I turn it off, then immediately turn it back on and sleep, the MBP will sleep okay. This doesn't seem to work consistently.
I had also thought this might have something to do with my airdisk since it's been suffering the (well-documented at this point) problem where airdisks start giving "Unknown user, login [...]" errors. This doesn't seem to be the case though since the problem still occurs if I disable the airdisk agent and don't mount any drives.
NOTE: This doesn't seem to happen with my GF's MBP. It too is a 2.2GHz Santa Rosa machine on the same AEBS network.
    *System Details*:
    - Santa Rosa 2.2Ghz Stock Macbook Pro
    - OSX 10.4.10, all updates installed including airport updates
    - Gigabit Airport Extreme with Seagate FreeAgent Pro Airdisk attached via USB
    Observations:
In my logs below, it seems that a successful sleep does NOT show the following lines in the system log. This might be related to having turned off the airport in order to get a successful sleep:

I have had the same problem you described for the past week. Very frustrating, also very dangerous. I got in from work today and my mbp had turned itself on with the lid closed, it was absolutely roasting hot, must have gone close to cooking it. Mine seems to be worse when its on power, did you guys notice any difference on power or battery?

  • My iphone keeps calling my mom by itself immediately after I finish a call with someone else... why?

Just as the question states, every time I hang up the phone with someone, it IMMEDIATELY dials my mom, but it doesn't show that there is a call in place or show that it is dialing. It has NO indication that my phone is calling someone. It just does it by itself, no sign  of the call. I could be typing an email on my phone without any hint that a phone call is taking place, but my mom will then call me back and say she could hear me on the other line, and that she was talking back yet I couldn't hear her at all.
The weirder part is that this ONLY happens with my mom's phone number and my phone. And it's always MY phone calling her, never the other way around. Even if I was talking to her on her phone and hung up, it will STILL call her back right afterwards.
    I have an iphone 4S, up-to-date with iOS 7.1
I recently had to wipe and reinstall everything onto my phone because I plugged it in to my computer and tried to update it, but it stopped at the very end up the update and said it had failed then wouldn't leave the progress screen, so I restored my phone, but this was happening even before that was going on.
I'm getting really sick of this and I'm getting tired of iphone problems. Can someone help? Thanks.

Sounds like you need to do some basic user troubleshooting, starting with a reset:
Double-tap your home button and start swiping up on your app windows (the larger windows) to close them out completely. Once they're all closed out, hold down the home button and the power button together until the screen blacks out and the Apple logo shows up on the screen, then let go. This will reboot your phone and will not cause any data loss. Let me know how the phone behaves after this.

  • Using a PCI-6534 card, how does one write and read from the board simultaneously after being triggered on the StartTrig input ?

I've copied two NI-developed VI's into a single VI. The first VI is the LV 'Buffered Pattern Input-Trig VI' under examples/daq/digital/653x. Using an external data generator, I send it a pulse on StartTrig, a clock on REQ1 and data on DIOA0. The start pulse is negative going so I set the front panel input to trigger on "falling edge" with clock set to 'external'. This VI is configured as Port 0 and Group 0. Once this VI is triggered I need to then start another VI which is simply the Buffered Pattern Output VI that also ships with LV. This VI is configured on Port 2, Group 1. This VI is used to simply send out a previously d
efined array of data on DIO C0, C1 and C2.
So, I receive a Start Trig, then clock in data, and then immediatly want to send out data. My problem is that I can't figure out when my receiving VI gets triggered on the StartTrig input. If I know when the trigger occurs, then I can wire this condition to a case statement and activate the second, or write VI. Without having the Trigger condition be met to enable the output VI, the problem is that it always outputs without even be triggered. So, where or how do I tap to find out when the StartTrig happens ? In other words, how do I know when the receiving VI has received a StartTrig pulse. There's got to be a way to do this, and I need to run in continious mode, so I can keep receiving and sending out data over and over again. Any ideas ? If your answer is to look at the examples, please tell me exact and specific examples, because I have not been able to find any examples directly related to my goal. thanks.

    Nestor-
I tried your first suggestion of connecting ACK1 to ACK2. But, I get Error 10010 at Digital Buffer Control when I run the VI. I've added an array of 32 ones and zeros to the output VI so that I have some data to write. What's really interesting is when I have a scope probe on ACK1 and ACK2 which are now common, the voltage level is less than 5 volts, around 4.7, but there is something wrong with the signal, a few spikes, I've seen this before, like 2 signals are trying to drive the same output or something. When I remove the connection between ACK1 and ACK2 the signal looks perfect since ACK1 is being driven by my data generator. This leads me to believe that you can't connect ACK1 to ACK2, or atleast you can't do it with the way I have the VI'
s configured. Also, I have a scope probe monitoring DIOC0 (since I'm writing to Port 2,which is Port C) and I don't see any data coming out, which makes sense since I get the error mentioned above.
In terms of my configuration, I have 2 VI's on the block diagram. I have Buffered Pattern Input-Trig.VI with the following settings:
    Group: 0
    Device: 1
    Port List: 0
    Buffer Size: 1000
    Clk Soruce: External
    Trigger Type: Start Trigger
Trigger Condition: Trigger off Falling Edge
    # of pretrigger points: 0
For the 'writing VI' I copied the Buffered Pattern output-Trig.VI with the following setup:
    Device: 1
    Group: 1
    Port List: 2
    #of updates: 1000
    Clock Source: Internal
Trigger Condition: Trigger on falling edge
So, do you have any ideas on what might be wrong ? Just realized that I can attach files, so my VI is attached.
    thanks.

  • My Music app that comes with the iphone quits itself immediately after clicking on it. How do I fix this??

My Music app that comes with the iOS immediately quits right  after opening it. Is there a way to fix this? Can I reinstall the app? I know it cannot be deleted like another app as it comes with the phone.

    Hi aragon7,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like an app closes when trying to open it. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.

  • When I turned my Macbook on and signed in, it has been shutting down automatically and restarting itself immediately after opening the desktop. The error message said, I'd shut down my computer unexpectedly. How can I get it to stop shutting down on me?

Since downloading OS X Mavericks, my computer has been shutting down midway of starting up. Please help! The problem began after downloading the software free update. Now when I start my computer, it will starts up normal but when the desktop appears, there will be an error message that I shut down my computer because of an error and if I would like to open the applications that were open before the sudden shut down I should press continue. Then when I select continue, it will open up another communication window that my computer is restarting because of an error. Then the screen will revert to shutting down and restarting again. This has been going on now all morning. Can someone hlep me on how to resolve this issue?

Very Important, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive first of all? Click on the Macintosh HD on the Desktop, then do a Get Info on it.
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
Do they launch OK while in Safe Mode?

  • MacBook Pro attempts to place a NON-EXISTING disc into its optical drive several times, immediately after being opened & woken up, every time...

About a week ago, my mother tried to place a DVD into my MacBook Pro while it was still closed & sleeping. Of course it didn't anything, but allowed her ignorant self to push the disc quite far into the disc drive. Once opened & woken up, the disc drive responded & operated normally, allowing my family to enjoy another great episode of Hanks & Speilberg's Band Of Brothers... UNTIL, the following day I opened it up & it began to make that "sucking a disc into its slot" noise, quite a few times before quitting... It hasn't damaged my MacBook Pro to my knowledge, I even put the DVD back in to insure that the drive hadn't been broken, but continues this process EVERY SINGLE TIME I try to open up & utilize my top-of-the-line Apple product. I've tried to restart/shut down my notebook, but this hindrance proceeds to linger. Also, I've began to worry that the amount of times the optical disc drive performs this mechincal process could cause future damage. Furthermore, it's a bit of a nuisance when trying to stealthly get on my MacBook Pro at night and end up waking up everyone... I have also upgraded to OX X Mavericks 10.9.1, could partake in the problem at hand? I would greatly appreciate suggestions & hope someone knows the direct solution to this problem!
Thank you for your time Apple Support Community, I truly appreciate it...

Damage was done when your computer fell.  Your warranty if you have one and Apple Care do not cover accidental damage.  Your only alternative is to take the computer to an Apple store or an AASP.  Whichever is more convenient for you.
NOTE:  If you are out of warranty and purchased the computer with a credit card, discuss the warranty issue with the credit card company which you purchased the computer with.   They are the only ones who can at this point cover the computer after it goes out of warranty with the manufacturer (Apple).
If you have Homeowners insurance, place a claim with them.

  • Imac keeps waking up immediately after being put to sleep

    hi
firstly, apologies if this question has already been answered elsewhere in the community
i bought an imac in june of this year (running most up-to-date version of mountain lion), and normally when i leave it, i put it to sleep instead of shutting down
have had no issues in doing this until last night.. now, as soon as i put it to sleep, it goes into sleep mode and then instantly wakes itself up again
i have checked the battery on the mouse and the keyboard (98% and 100% respectively)
i have nothing plugged into any usb ports
any ideas on why it keeps waking up by itself and how to resolve this issue?
    thanks

    hello
    thanks for your reply
i am new to apple products and to the community, and having read the community etiquette i apologise for not referring to the 'more like this' section before i posted - lesson learned
in respect of your advice, i checked the energy saver options as you suggested and the 'wake for network access' option was unchecked
interestingly, i have never had this issue until last night and i have made no system changes, downloaded or updated anything?
still a bit confused, will read through the 'more like this' posts and see if my answer lurks there somewhere
    thanks again
