Compressing an Attachment for E-mail (??)

New Duo2Core; OS 10.4.8.
I use Entourage (Office 2004). On my G4's and 5's there is an option to compress an attchment. That is greyed out on the Entourage on my Intel Mac. I notice that Stuffit is not included with the OS on the Intel system. Is it safe to downlod and install? Will that allow me to compress an attachment for sending with Entourage?
Also, what is the best tool/app to compress a file so I can get it to e-mail as an attachment and not exced the allowable account limit - Stuffit or something else (I want both Mac and Windows users (family out of town all over the States) to be able to open lage attachments) ? Any suggestions?

Stuffit isn't necessary. Select the file you want to compress and CTRL-click or Right-Click (if you have two button mouse) and select the "Create Archive ..." option from the contextual menu. This will create a fully compatible .zip file that can be sent as an attachment. If you want to be sure your attachments will be Windows friendly, then use that option in Entourage (don't remember exactly where it's set.)

Script for forward mail as attachment

Hi,
I think there is no direct call for creating forward mail as attachment. I tried "forward" reply and other things.Its working fine.
Please let me know if any one have idea for creating script for apple mail "forward as attachment".

How to create a pdf for the URL attached to an invoice and send it as an attachment in a mail

I have requirement where i need to get the URL attached to an invoice, create the pdf and send as an attachement in a mail.
The URL attached to an invoice can be seen by following the path : VF03-> Billing document->system->Services for object ->Attachement list.
On searching through existing forums, i found that there is a table 'SRGBTBREL' which stores relationships of GOS object. On giving the invoice number in field 'INSTID_A', i could find an entry in this table.
To get the content, i used the class CL_FITV_GOS, method GET_CONTENT. To this method i passed following values:
IV_ATTA_ID = FOL21000000000521URL39000000000012 (The value if field INSTID_B from table SRGBTBREL)
IV_OBJTP   = 'URL'
On execution, i get URL link but the content table is empty.
Could anybody provide some input on how i get the content? Or may be how i can create pdf from the URL link and attach it to mail as an attachment?

Eg: say link is https://......80 [80 characters long]
I will give    <a href="https://...72            [in first line]

I will get the output as 73...80">click here
But i want only CLICK HERE in my output..

Install 3rd party PDF iFilter for index PDF file as attachment in e-mail (msg)

I have called Microsoft Permium Support, base on the reply, SharePoint 2013 does not support to index a PDF file attachment in E-mail (msg) except 3rd party iFilter installed. And they finally told me how to edit Windows Registry for install the Adobe iFilter.
But, the Adobe iFilter is too weak to call large PDF files. So, I would like to install and try the Foxit PDF iFilter, but I cannot find an installation guide for this 3rd party ifilter with SharePoint 2013.
Does anyone here have the experience for Foxit PDF iFilter with SharePoint 2013 can help me?
I am not sure it is bug or feature in SharePoint 2013, but in case I still have to install 3rd party iFilter for index PDF file. I have no idea what is the out of box pdf file indexing support for.

How can I read mail attachment for making it to the payload?

Hi everybody,
in the following my scenario:
I have an incoming message with attachment by the mail sender adapter using PayloadSwapBean (because of other messages I have to use the bean). I want to send this attachment by using the mail receiver adapter to fix E-mail-address keeping the FromMailAddress, the MailSubject and the FileName
without the metadata as additional attachment.
I have found a thread where it is explained how to handle "payload as mail attachment and dynamic filename" by java-mapping. So far so good. My question is: How can I make my attachment to be the payload? How can I read the attachment by java-mapping?

How to keep same sender file name for receiver mail attachement

Hi,
i am working with File to Mail scanario. There i want to pick a flat file from native file system and then send it as email attachment. Now i am able to send the file but the flat is getting converted as an xml file. is there any method to keep the same sender file name and type for receiver mail attachment. i am not using any mail package. i am using XI payload and keep attachments.

Yes,With out using the mail package u can send the Mail Attachments to the receiver side,
In that case no need of Integration Repository objects.

How to send ALV list report as html attachment in a mail??

I have an ALV report which I want to send as an HTML attachment in a mail to an external id. I know that spool can be converted to HTML attachment in a mail. But I don't want to have 2 programs - one for generating ALV and the other to send mail with the spool-converted of the first report as attachment. I want to send the mail in the same program itself. Is it possible? Helpful answers will be suitably rewarded.

In your ALV program after the alv output is build in the program do the following steps.
1). Export the list to memory
2). Import the list from mempry
3). Do a COmpress of the data
4). Send an email as an attachment using the normal FM.

Picture attachment problems in Mail

Since upgrading I have had a number of email recipients telling me I have not attached the images I had intended to send them. The images are attached (jpgs) and I am sending the emails as plain text. I am also making sure the attachment is viewed as an icon. What can be going wrong?

That setting is just for your local view.
What you can do: compress the images in Finder to a ZIP file (right click on the file and hit "Compress ....", than they are showed as a normal attachment on the receivers computer.
There is also a little plugin for Apple Mail called Attachment Tamer where you could decide if the pictures are send as a real attachment or an embedded picture. You can test that shareware for a few days to decide.

Exporting for e-mail

I transfered a short 30sec movie clip from my DV cam onto iMovie. I saved it as a quicktime movie for e-mail purposes. I e-mailed it to a friend thru hotmail. The problem was, it was too small to view the clip when opened. Is there a way I could make this clip bigger but compress it way down that I could send it thru e-mail?

The QuickTime presets that iMovie uses for web, mail etc. are kind of a one-size fits all. While it does make things easy you don't always get quite what you want.
However, you can also adjust the settings manually. Just choose Share>QuickTime>Expert Settings. After you click Share select Export to QuickTIme Movie from the drop down menu and click options.
I won't pretend to know what all the settings are for but I'd try playing around with size and frame rate. Through some trial and error you should be able to find something bigger that can still make it through as an email attachment.

Separate valid mail attachment in sender mail adapter

Hi Experts,
I am working on Mail -> RFC scenario in pi 7.3.
Our channel is able to process new mail having valid attachement (i.e. .xml) file.
But sometime attachment contain invalid format also like pdf, or .txt file with valid attachment.
With these types of mail, channel throw error and do not process it. But my requirement is to separate the valid attachment and process it and delete it from mail box.
What our channel is doing is it skips these kind of mails and only change the status from unread to read.

I got the same issue too, the Scenario is MAIL ->FILE . Mail Sender Adapter picks up the 1 PDF attachment and saves in network folder successfully but not multiple attachments of a mail.
These are the setting in Module configuration I made:
1. The IMAPS was used in Mail Sender Adapter : imaps://10.192.101.16:993/Inbox
*IP address of the Mail Server was got from the Admin )
2. Ports : 143, 993 are opened for the Mail Server to access for XI SERver ( Raised an Ticket to open Ports of Mail server :NZTxxx.dknz.nzcorp.net)
3. As the attachment was only in PDF : Added swapbean in Module tab as below :
Process Sequesnce :
-Make sure: AF_Modules/PayloadSwapBean Modul key : TRANSFORM is added before sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.mail.app/XIMailAdapterBean
-And under Module Configuration select : TRANSFORM as Module Key and add >
swap.keyName Content-Disposition
swap.keyName Content-Description
swap.keyValue attachment;filename='MailAttachment-1.pdf"
swap.keyValue MailAttachment-1
-IF you get to know how to fetch multiple attachment , Please update.
