Compressor 3.5 failing to create BD disc
I've created a 55 minute long project in FCP7 and used the "Share" option to transfer to Compressor. I've then set compressor to burn to Blu-ray. I do have a BD-R drive in my 2008 Mac Pro and fresh media in it.
Anyway, compressor creates H.264 and AC3 files just fine. When it begins the process of Create Disc, nothing happens. Looking at batch monitor, burn disc hangs around 59 percent, although there's nothing being written to disk at all.
I even left the machine to run over night and after 59 percent, no change in status. Nothing was writtent to the BD disc. I had to force quit the Create Disc program and restart compressor to create an image instead.
Any suggestions on what to look for?
I'm in the same boat.
I've got a 55 minute DVCPRO HD project and need to create a few Blu-Ray disks that will play in over-the-counter Blu-Ray players. We just want to have a few Blu-Ray disks of an HD broadcast show for presentations where the AV folks can project HD usuing a regular Blu-Ray player.
I'm using a MacPro with FCP7 and will be buying a Blu-Ray drive once I get the compression work flow sorted out. I was experimenting with the FCP7 share writing to the HD (since I don't have a BR drive yet) but it hung up. I'm using compressor now to create an H.264 Blu-Ray at an average bit rate of 30 Mbps. All the cores are running at 75%. It will take a little over 3 hours. I'll end up with my H.264 video and ac3 audio file. Do I take these to Toast 10? Should I use MPEG-2 with custom settings instead.
I'm pretty good at this stuff but this Blu-Ray burning is driving me nuts. Any help or work flow suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'll buy what I need to get it done.

ManishRecovery partition is meant to be used on a working system, it can however be used in a different manner but is difficult for most people unless you are a computer geek of sorts.
See this thread on how someone used the files from the restore partition to recover to a new hard drive, you would need another working Windows PC to do this.
http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and/Another-System-Restore-question/m-p/1945...
If you call HP on the phone they can verify for sure if they have the recovery discs or not.
If they do not, you can purchase them here

Error while creating recovery discs on HP Pavilion p7-1147b Win7
While creating the 2nd of 3 ea. system recovery discs, I get an error message during the "verifying disc" phase that terminates the process. I'm using high quality DVD+R 4.7gb discs and have tried several brands. I had same problem on the 1st disc, but it finally finished after 3 tries - now I can't get the 2nd disc completed to get to the final one. The DVD burner seems to work fine for other applications. I really don't want to purchase these recovery discs from HP.
This question was solved.
View Solution.Hi,
Try creating the rest of the Recovery Discs in Safe Mode as follows.
Shut down the PC. Tap away at f8 as you start the PC to enter Windows Recovery Console. Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode and hit enter. When windows has fully loaded in this mode, launch the recovery disc creator application and see if you can complete the creation of your discs in this way.
To exit Safe Mode, just restart the PC and Windows will boot normally.
If this still fails to create a viable set of Recovery Discs and you are within your warranty period, call HP ( the telephone numbers can be found on the relevant link below ) and explain that the Recovery Media Creator application fails to create a viable set of recovery discs and request that they send you a free replacement set.
If you live in the US, contact HP Here.
If you are in another part of the world, start Here.

DP-K

Re: Error message while creating recovery disc on a satellite L300
I have tried to create my recovery discs on my new L300 laptop. Whilst creating the disc i get the following error:
Failed to read the following file F:\ZZImg|09115XSP.swm (Error code: 020150-20-00000000).
Anyone know what this means, and how to fix this problem? I have a very basic knowledge of IT and haven't got a clue how to sort this out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
Luke.Hi mate
Yes, I know this error
It appears because of usage not fully compatible disks
I had the similar issue and could solve this using another DVD from another manufacturer.
Check this it will help your too.. -
If anyone is able to solve this they are a genius (or I am doing something very stupid!)
I am trying to reinstall CS5.5 Master Collection from DVD media on Windows 7 64 bit PC but setup.exe fails due to a msxml3.dll error.
Following a big bundle of recent Windows 7 updates, I started getting 'bad image' msxml3.dll error messages when opening any CS5.5 master collection program (Eg Premiere / Photoshop / Illustrator / Dreamweaver). Following advice on some threads here I tried uninstalling and then using the Adobe CC Cleaner Tool to clean up install, then reinstalling from my original DVD media.
Whenever I try using run setup.exe from installtion disc 1 the installing fails due to 'Missing files'. I have also tried dowloading trial versions and runing setup.exe fro mthe downloaded files but i still get the same message.
I have searched the forum and others have experienced this error but none of the solutions I have found seem to be working for me - as many seem to relate to download installations whereas I am installing from original DVD media (which worked fine before on the same PC)
These are the FATAL messages from the PDApp log
12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] PIM - Failed to Create XML instance : DOMDocument40 ADXML::initWithXMLPath Error:80040154
12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] Setup - Could not initialize ADXML object
12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] Setup - Unable to initialize. Error parsing setup.xml file
The PDApp troubleshooting seems to indicate that this is caused by error in downloads but I am getting it with both original media DVD and downloads.
I have also tried using my logon (which has admin privileges) and under our main admin account - and I get the same errors.
Is a clean install of Windows 7 + CS5.5 my only option?
Any help / info / advice / solutions very much appreciated! I have spent the last 2 days trying to sort this out and seem to be getting nowhere.
Thanks. Thanks for the reply kglad - much appreciated.
I have already tried that option (along with downloading files) as it was one of the solutions mentioned on other threads, but that also failed.
Any other ideas? -

I've never actually seen the "Something didn't really work out here..." message occur. It means that SIU failed to communicate with its helper tool that builds the images. -
HELP!How to create HD disc that will play back in HD DVD or Blu-Ray player?
Footage comes from Panasonic HVX200 as DVCPRO HD 1080i60, all appropriate settings made in FCP5 to edit. Have already made SD DVD, whoopie.
Now client is interested in real HD version that they can play back on HD DVD or Blu-Ray set top unit. Of all my research, I've discovered little about how to make a "real" HD video disc. OSX doesn't support Blu-Ray burning, OK. What about HD DVD burning support? And what drive to purchase for this application?
I understand DVD Studio will allow me to author a disc with HD content...that I can burn onto DVD5. Useless to the client. Need to burn on either Blu-Ray or HD DVD media.
Aside from encoding in Compressor, what do I do when I need to make this HD disc happen? Compressor step seems easy enough to figure out. Just very unclear on how to burn out appropriate video disc.
Thanks for your help. For Blu-Ray creation:
I'm curious if DVDit! works in parallels too, though it will certainly work in BootCamp. The question is what format should FCP/Compressor output to in order for DVDIt, etc. on BC or Parallels need in order to create the disc?
MPEG-2 and H.264 should work, but who knows?
In the meantime, I have HDV source footage that I edit. I print the final edit back to HDV for archiving, and burn a HD-DVD on a DL DVD+R red laser disc to show on my Toshiba HD-DVD player using DVDSP. It works, and I can get about 40 minutes of MPEG-2/HDV on there without transcoding at 1080i and it looks fantastic.
In the future, I hope to be able to dump the HDV final edit onto a Blu-Ray disc. I'm guessing Adobe Encore will be needed on the Mac for that.
The point here is there certainly are options that work. I do wish Apple added Blu-Ray burning capability.
There's still room for that, however... FCS 1 (and even now 2, with AVCHD support, albeit non-native) have histories of adding new support for codecs, etc. in free updates. -
Recovery Manager Failure: Failed to create EFI partition
Envy 15-1055SE
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
The original HD failed (500GB) and it was replaced it with a working unit of the same size (500GB). Since the hard drive was completely dead and I no longer had access to the recovery partition we installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit on the new hard drive, assuming we could use my Windows Key and then just download all the applicable drivers from the HP site. Windows did install and was running, but since my key was not compatible and trying to get all the correct drivers for my specific notebook was essentially impossible I rush ordered the recovery discs form HP. Once received, we then attempted to restore the system using recovery media supplied by HP (590684-003 , WINDOWS 7 PREMIUM 64B + SUPP 2 RECOVERY).
Multiple attempts were made with the replacement HD raw, formatted or untouched from the last failure. I have also downloaded and used the Cyberlink Recover Discs Utility from the HP site that supposed to resolve Recovery Discs issues, but all attempts ended exactly the same way. After using and ejecting all three recovery discs Recovery Manager terminated with the same error:
Recovery Manager
The Recovery Attempt has Failed.
Select one of the following buttons
[Savelog] [Details] [Retry]
Pressing [Details] results in this message:
CTO ERRORFLG
Fail to Create EFI Partition...
Diskpart return error level [-2147024809]...
Retrying ultimately loops to the same error.
So, what now???So I took your advice and called HP support. As you stated, they recommended new recovery discs, which they sent me and I recieved today. So I went through the whole process again and got the same error.
When I was on the phone with support they mentioned that I could have purchased a replacement drive from them for 2.5 times the price i paid for mine. And they didn't confirm if that would fix my problem or come with everything already installed.
At this point I'm at a loss, I don't have the money to pay that much for a "possible" solution, when I have a perfectly fine working new hard drive already.
There has to be a solution out there, as everyone I talked doesn't understand why the recovery disc/process isn't working. Can someone please provide some useful advise/suggestions? -
Compressor: send mutiple jobs to same BluRay disc?
I've made a few AVCHD discs using the new Compressor, but always with one job in the batch at a time. Is it possible to add other jobs to the same batch, each with the "Create BluRay disc" job action, and have them all burn to the same disc? Or will Compressor attempt to burn each one to it's own disc?
JVKYou can put as many jobs in Compressor at once as you want. Only one per Blu Ray, though.
I highly recommend getting Bruce Nazarian's "Fast Path To Blu Ray For The Mac" book. Very inexpensive, will clear the whole Blu Ray thing up for you. -

Can not create recovery discs on satellite C875D-S7330
Can not create recovery discs on satellite C875D-S7330. Drive runs and appears to be doing it thing, then aborts saying it has error to check disc for scratch or dust on media. Error code: OEO1B5-26-2AO3OC 00 . Tried 3 new discs all same results. Tried a 4th disc trying to continue on with disc 2 of recovery discs, got another error on this one. Error code: 020150-20-00000000.
Anyone have a fix for this? Had this machine less than 24hrs.
Thanks
Don B.Personally, I would get a 16gig USB thumb drive and put your recovery on it. It eliminates having to swap disks during recovery and it's easy to store. I've used mine several times and it's worked perfectly every time.

Sharepoint server 2013 configuration issue - failed to create configuration database
Hi All,
I have installed the SharePoint server 2013. After installing the SharePoint products, the configuration stops at failure of creating configuration database.
Some system configuration & info:
- 1 Domain controller server run Active Directory services on Windows server 2008 R2 SP1 (PC1 with name DC.Brainfiniti.com)
- 1 Server which is used for installing Sharepoint server 2013 and MS SQL server 2008 R2 SP1 (PC2 with name App.Brainfiniti.com)
- All of PCs were satisfied the requirement of Sharepoint server 2013
- Firewall turned off & No antivirus tool was installed.
- During installing of Sharepoint, choose "Complete" option: Farm mode and use SQL Server instead of SQL Express.
- During configuration, created a new farm with a domain user account.
- Use domain account to log on and install, configure in Sharepoint & SQL server (PC2)
ATTEMPTS:
1. Tried install and set up all of steps with just 1 account - domain administrator.
2. Tried with separate domain account:
- SQL Service account use for:
+ Install SQL server 2008
+ Connect all SQL services
+ Admin for SQL server
- Setup account use for:
+ Member of local administrator group in PC2
+ Install Sharepoint
+ Run Configuration wizard
+ Was granted permission in SQL database: dbcreator, securityadmin, sysadmin and deselect serveradmin role.
+ Was choose for the database account in configuration database step
Also tried with SQL service account in this step.
3. Tried with Standalone mode for Sharepoint installing
4. Trie with domain name: Brainfiniti.local
5. Tried with some another solution from topic relate to database configuration in our community but not successful.
But all attempts are failed at this configuration database step :'(
Please correct me if I am going wrong by missing something or do I need to start/install some services.

Sorry! Cannot add screenshot because my account is still not verified. Will add later.

Creating a disc image from an iso file
I have a samsung Bluray player that requires and update. I downloaded the file (which is a zip), then expanded it. It is an iso file. I need to create a disc image (not a simple burn to a cd) in order to update my samsung player. How do I do that? Disc Utility?
Sorry, I should have been more clear. The ISO file is on my desktop. I didn't understand how to get it to show in DU, but when I hit BURN, a navigation window opens...thank you.

Data Quality - Failed to create connection to MDR.
Hi All,
I have installed Data Quality 11.7.2 on windows 2003 server using SQL 2005 (Both SQL 2005 server and Data Quality are in the same server) , The install was successful. But when I try to Open 'Data Quality Project Architect' it throws an error
Failed to create connection to MDR.
Driver error messgage = qodbc_mssql:
Unable to connect, Database error message =] [microsoft][odbc sql server driver]
[ tcp/ip sockets] sql server does not exist or access denied
I checked the ODBC connection and tested it successfully too.
I am not able to pass through the 'Meta Data Repository Connection' as its failing in 'Setup SQL connection option'
Any help is appreciated !!!
Thanks
Ranjit KrishnanHi Paul,
Thanks for you reply, OBDC connection was created under System DSN, also tired the users DSN option too, but did not work.
Recreated the ODBC connection many times still no luck.
The 'Project Architect' client and the MDR (SQL 2005 Server) are on the same machine.
Thanks
Ranjit Krishnan
