Compressor 3 no audio when export mpeg 2 ts

I imported a .mov files to compressor 3, but there are no audio when I export Mpeg 2 TS(by default setting)...
(1) I can hear audio on preview
(2) export no matter extentions m2t or mpg , no audio.....

the mpeg2 files mux (mix) the audio & video together in one stream.
To work with the files in FCP, you must demux them. The application MPEG Streamclip can do this for you. Google it, it's free.

  • No audio when exporting mpegs to ipod

I read all of that nonsense about "muxed" files and "demuxing" or whatever. very confusing. they mentioned 3rd part apps that will "demux" but not sure which to use. I would really like to export a VCD to my ipod but how with volume? can i import it into iMovie and then export to ipod? there must be a way around this that is simple...

can i import it into iMovie and then export to ipod?
Any attempt to import or drop a non-DV file into iMovie will automatically invoke a routine which will convert the source file into a DV file for editing within iMovie. Since QT cannot create separate audio and video tracks for a muxed (combined single audio/video track), you with still end up with a video track and no audio in iMovie.
The normal work flow is to rip the VCD and then convert the muxed program stream into an MPEG1 and then use an MPEG based third party application to convert to an iPod compatible format. Applications like MPEG2 Works 4 ($25)can perform all phases of this operation and I assume (but have not tested) that MPEG StreamClip (free) may also be capable of handling VCD/SVCD sourced programs.

  • No audio when exporting from mpeg to flv

We have two PCs with Premiere Pro and AME installed, and just upgraded to CC. On one computer exporting works fine, on the other one, I'm losing the audio when exporting from mpeg to flv. I have used the same preset as on the other computer (that works) and also tried other presets that came with AME.
I can't figure out why this wouldn't work on one but works fine on the other? Anyone who knows?

How are you determining that the FLV has no audio?  Are you playing it back in VLC Player or importing it into Flash?
Also, do you see a full range of formats on the system where you don't hear audio?  If some formats are missing this might be  a licensing issue.  Also check if AME recognizes audio on the MPEG source (hover over it  in the queue and look for  audio info in the tool tip).

  • Lose sound when exporting MPEG with QuickTime to iPod format

I paid the $30 to be upgrade to QuickTime Pro in the hopes that I would be able to export MPEGs from my digital camera for viewing in iPods. The video comes out fine but there is no sound. Any suggestions regarding how to get the sound to export too?

    Thanks; the discussion is helpful.
When I downloaded the MPEG Streamclip software from http://www.squared5.com/; the conversion process was agonizingly slow. As an example, a single 6 minute Quicktime movie took hours to convert. After it was converted, then it not was recognizable by iTunes. So, MPEG Streamclip has not worked for me.
This seems like such a straightforward process that Apple would support. Basically, you can create iPhoto albums that synchronize with iPods; however you CAN NOT create Slideshows that synchronize with iPods. This is so frustrating since the slideshows have much more functionality and presumably would be what most people would find most useful. The process to get a slideshow to the iPod requires you to go through Quicktime and then Quicktime to ipod; this process only occassionally seems to work.
Anyway, Quicktime Pro, the $30 application, seems to sometimes work and sometimes not work for conversion of Quicktime files to iPods. I tried using non AAC protected audio files for the iPhoto slideshow sound and the conversion from Quicktime to iPod worked. In other cases, the conversion from Quicktime Pro to iPod did not work. I am at a loss to explain consistently what is happening when you use Quicktime to export to the iPod. When I open the Quicktime movie file the option to Export to iPod is grayed out. However, when I open the Quicktime application the option is black and available.

  • No audio when exporting to h.264 (mp3 - aac conversion fails)

Using QuickTime Player Pro 7.5.5 on OS X 10.5.6:
I have a video file (video format: On2 VP6, audio format: MPEG Layer 3 mono) that I am attempting to export for high-quality YouTube.
When I export to H.264 my only audio export option is AAC-LC. But the resulting mp4 file has a silent audio track. I've tried different settings on the audio (mono/stereo, different data rates) but that makes no difference.
Is there a way to successfully export the audio when using the H.264 format?

Thanks -- it's too bad QuickTime Pro doesn't properly handle this. I successfully used iTunes as a workaround as well (I exported the audio track to a standalone mov, opened in iTunes, exported as an MP3, then added back to the video in QuickTime Pro).

  • Corrupted audio when exporting in Soundtrack Pro 2.0.2

Hello, I am a sound designer and have been evaluating Soundtrack Pro 2.0.2 as an alternative to Pro Tools (I work with video editors who use FCP). The program has been working well until I have tried to export my work.
I have created a project containing audio of the same sample rate as both the project and the computer's hardware - 48kHz (eliminating a problem already highlighted by others) and using no DSP. Although realtime playback is fine, the exported audio contains blocks silence as well as wrongly mixed levels.
I have noticed firstly that the problem changes depending on where the loop markers are set. The problem is sometimes eliminated if there is a reasonable amount of silence at the beginning and end of the region being exported. Secondly, I notice that fades are not being exported correctly - either being exported as silence or as full level (as if there is no fade applied).
I have also tried using Soundtrack Pro version 1, and this exports fine. It's worth noting, however, that this version of the software does not allow the user to apply fades to the audio (without opening and editing the waveform itself).
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I know the problem you mean - the plugin settings are lost when exporting. I think this is a separate issue that has been fixed. An example of the problem would be when adding a fade to a sound, and then exporting. The fade portion of the sound would export as silence, but the rest of the sound would export fine. Very bizarre, and if no-one else is experiencing it, possibly it is to do with my machine. Unfortunately it makes the software unusable for me. My colleague, who is running the same setup as me, has exactly the same problem.
The main thing I like about Soundtrack is the ability to add effects non-destructively to each sound, and then go back and edit each effect later on. Also, the video display is good- showing you the video at the beginning and end of a sound when moving it, plus also where your mouse pointer is clicked. It has the potential to be a very good program.
Pro Tools HD is very good but very expensive. I know some people who don't like it, so I think its down to personal preference. It is used in every professional studio I have worked in, making it good for compatibility. You also won't find nasty bugs like the one i've described in Soundtrack - they've been developing the software for a long time. Personally, I find Pro Tools very quick to work with and very stable. Also, I would recommend Pro Tools LE if you're not going to be restricted by 48 tracks and lack of surround mixing.

  • Problems with audio when exporting to movies

    Hi All,
I teach sequencing and one of the projects is to score a short piece of music to film.  Logic Pro 9 is great for this (though beat mapping isn't the most friendly of functions) and my students (most only 16-18 years old) have made some great projects.
Right the question is what are the best settings to use when exporting the audio to movie?  Some students don't get any sound when bounced or some are getting the oprginal with the new audio (doubled).
To assess and store student work we use vimeo for video projects and the wierdest thing is that when uploaded these bounces (the ones that worked) have no sound at all.
Never had these issues with Logic 8 and just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how I can resolve this?
    Thanks and happy new year.

I've used flip4mac for about a year and have had no problems with it. I mostly use it to export preview versions for windoze people. The quality is very good, though it takes significantly longer to export than a similar-quality quicktime movie.

  • Loss of audio when exporting

When exporting to quicktime I am losing all the audio attached to the movie , also the clips appear greyed out and only show the contents of the clip when I scroll over them, and I seem to be missing the clips in the events browser, am I missing something painfully obvious?

am I missing something painfully obvious?
Probably not. Have not experienced such problems myself, but it sounds as if the project file has somehow been corrupted and some pointers referencing source data have been lost/orphaned. Not really sure what you can do about it either at this point.

  • Garbled audio when exporting movies using iMove 09

    Hello,
Whenever I try to export my Movie using iMovie 09, certain scenes have garbled audio.
The scene play properly within iMovie 09.
It also has the same garbled audio when I try to share it to iDVD.
    Any suggestions?

There is a well known audio glitch in iMovie '09. If making speed changes to your project, such as slow or fast motion, you must use only the presets shown on the speed slider. These are: 12.5%, 25%, 50%, 100%, 200%, 400% and 800%. Do not use custom speeds, by manually entering your own percentages.
If you don't use the presets, you are highly likely to see audio problems in the exported project. As you have noted, the glitch appears only in the export but is not evident in preview (within iMovie).
The only fix (other than going through a convoluted process) is to adjust all custom speed changes to the presets. This is a nuisance, of course, as you may have to resync the video and audio where you have added voiceovers or music tracks.

  • Distortion in audio when exporting HDV to tape

I'm having trouble sending a native HDV project back to tape. The picture looks fine on the export, but the audio is severely distorted. It's not overmodulation. I have a -10 limiter on the audio master track, and the VUs on my deck don't show anything like any clipping. But the sound it's making is similar to clipping. Any ideas? Thanks,
    Stu

    NVIDIA Quadro FX 3450/4000

    Howard,
Thanks for the reply. It's hard to describe the sound...it actually reminds me of the sound a 16mm projector makes when it loses its loop, sort of a strobing distortion. As for constancy, no it's definitely not constant in the sense that, say, ground loop hum is constant. It's "attached" to the sounds as the play back, so that when the timeline is very quiet it's hardly audible, but when you get any sound at all, it comes up. I know that might sound like clipping, but I don't see how it could possibly be for a few reasons:
    1. There's a -9 limiter on the audio master track.
    2. It sounds perfectly fine both in timeline playback and when exported to Encore.
    3. The VUs in the original source clips, the timeline, and the deck on output all show clean levels with no clipping.
I'm wondering if it's related to my deck, but I haven't had a chance to check that yet. I'll try outputting to the camera when I get back in to work on Monday, but if you have any other ideas as to what the cause might be, I'd be happy to hear them. Thanks.

  • IMovie9 places random audio when exporting!

I have a problem that seems absurd. Forgive me for not being too technically inclined.
I have spent countless hours editing a movie with music overlaid as well as audio grabs moved etc. It looks great on screen - usually.
Sometimes when played back it loses some of the original sound. If I go to the audio of that clip and basically do nothing but check it and hit 'done', it returns.
More confusing is when I export. I have tried exporting to iDVD and Toast to put it on DVD and for some reason it places random audio. There will be a car scene with music that I placed and suddenly there will be voices or waves crashing from a totally different source. There is no evidence of this audio when I check the project.
Another problem is that it refuses to remove audio when I have reduced the volume to zero, for example when I have fast motion and don't wish to hear the squealing sound. My only solution is to detach the audio and delete it. This is a problem that is frustrating but can work around. The first issue is my main issue as it makes all my efforts worthless.
The management of the audio seems quite random and uncontrollable during export.
Does anyone have any ideas or experiences
    Thankyou

Of course that's always the way
As soon as I posted the question I found the possible answer.
Speed changes not on the marks like 200% or 400% cause the problem. I have many at 80%. Exactly where I want it and if I change to 50% (looks crap) or 100% (kinda pointless) it will stuff up my timing completely.
Wonderful. Starting to dislike iMovie. hmm

  • No Audio When Export

I'm using Final Cut Express 2.0.2 on an iMac G4 with OS X 10.4.8. I have a two minute film I'm trying to export into an .wmv format to put on the web, and each time the finished project has video but no audio. I've mixdown rendered the audio, I do hear the audio when I watch the clip on FCE (and I get audio levels), I've tried restarting the computer -- I'm not sure what else to do. I've done this a million times before and never had any problem like this. I've looked on help pages, too, but have yet to find anything else I might try.
    Help!
    i GHz PowerPC G4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

FCE is using Quicktime Pro to export to WMV. And how am I listening to the files -- after I finish the export, I've tried playing the files in both Quicktime and Windows Media player, but I get no sound from the speakers. I've tried plugging in my headphones to see if I could hear the file that way, but no luck.
    Thanks very much.

  • No audio when exporting to mpeg

Newbie here, on my first project. I have exported it to mpeg and all went well except there is no audio.
I am using the trial version of Premiere Elements 8 on a PC running Windows 7.
    Any guidance?

    Welcome to the forum.
The lack of Audio in an Exported/Shared file is often the lack of the correct setting in the Multiplexing tab. When you go to do the Export, you will choose both Audio & Video in the General tab. Additional settings appear in the Video and the Audio tab. Last, there is the Multiplexing tab, and one must choose one of the other choices, besides None. This is often DV Audio, but there can be others, depending on the other tabs' settings. Check your Multiplexing tab, and let us know what it's set to. That is likely the issue.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Problem with Audio when exporting to Quicktime

I'm running a trial of Adobe Flash CS5 on a Windows PC. I used audio [set to Stream] in the project. The original audio was recorded in 16 bit and 44kHz using Cubase LE4, and was exported in [.wav] format. It works fine and plays back normally when I try 'Test Scene' or 'Test Movie' within Flash. However, the export isn't working right.
I exported the movie into Quicktime format [.mov]. I set the export audio to 16 bit and 44kHz, which was the same rate that the original sound was recorded in. No matter which audio compression I use, [or without compression at all], the final Quicktime file sounds like it is 8 bit, and the quality is greatly reduced. Just to experiment, I tried exporting with 8 bit audio- at this setting the movie played back with even worse audio quality [and a considerable amount of static], and I am assuming that it has been reduced to 4 bit.
For some reason, Flash must be cutting the bit rate in half, no matter what settings I use. Does anyone know how to solve this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try using MPEG Streamclip to convert the videos; more information on this issue is available in this article.
