Compressor issue, keep getting Failed: QuickTime error.-50. Anyone knows why?
I have this problem too, I sent a 1hr long video to Compressor from FCP and trying to save it in H.264
If works for a few hours and then says it failed.
Any help would be much appreciated!

You can search the entire internet by putting that error message into google, see what other discussions appear.
With only the little information you've provided, I'd trash Compressor and download it again from the App Store.
You could share the timeline out to MPEG2 and then import that into iDVD, if you have it, or Toast.
Given an hour or three, someone with better suggestions will soon chime in. -

Trash your preferences. Trash your project render files. Switch off background rendering. Do not render. Export.

Every time I turn the computer off or put it in sleep mode... when I come back my wallpaper is gone. I have to keep going back to my pics and getting it back.
Does anyone know why this keeps happening??Are you choosing it from one of these folders (in my screenshot) or you can also put that picture into the correct folder. The path is:
HD > Library > Desktop Pictures
If you add it to the folder manually, please restart your computer.
And yes, letting it sleep is a good idea, or else the startup disk will spin and the screen may suffer from image persistence if you leave a window or image parked in the same spot too long, so the screensave is a good idea. -
ever since i updated my 4th generation ipod touch software to 6.0.1 it keeps shutting off for no reason. anyone know why it might do this?
If the reset does no work
Try:
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Anyone know how to fix this problem..... I am trying to update and download the latest version for my phone and it gets all the way to the end and says network timed out error 3259 or something. I have tried a so many times and get the same answer. I have restarted the computer, internet, etc. NOTHING. HELP!!!
Are you doing this over a wireless network. This happened a long time ago when we had DSL. I got sick of it and went to broadband thru our cable company.
If you are using wireles router, use a cable and connect your computer via the cable to the modem or wireless router if you have a location for the cable upon the wireless router. I think it is a cat 5 cable that connects the computer to your modem or wireless router. This way you Internet should not time out.
I hope this helps you. It is hard to identify the issue not knowing your Internet connect setup. Some modems and wireless routers have more Port options. -
Error message in download. Says 500 internal server error. Anyone know why?
I am updating my version of pages from the app store the download is almost complete and now I'm getting a error message that says 500 internal server error. Does anyone know what's the cause of this?
Basically the download has broken, keep it open and see if you can continue it later.
Failing that you will have to restart, which Apple thinks is a trivial matter for everyone for such large downloads.

Has anyone ever received a proper response to the dreded itunes 5103 error after downloading a rented movie on iTunes? What's even worse is that I now can't delete them. They just show back up when I check for downloads. This has been going on now for over a month. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I can't share to DVD, I Keep getting quick time error 0 at the 50% mark
I keep getting a quicktime error message 0 everytime I try to share to DVD. This just started to happen after I updated to Mavericks.
Have you disabled App Nap for FCP X & Compressor? Why haven't you updated to 10.1.1? It is working very smoothly for me - but I have a top 'O the Line latest IMac. How old is your computer? Is it too old for the altest FCP X?

Are you working with native media? If you are, see if Final Cut will let you transcode a clip to Pro Res 422. Do an export test with that single clip. (Write the output to a disk image so you don't waste a disk.)

I didn't install and did not want to install anything!You can not download items from the internet with an ipad, you can download from the app store or from itunes or some cloud services (dropbox) but not from browsers, there is an Iphone app for we transfer in the app store that appears that it can be used on an ipad as well.

Hi i have avi files saved in iphoto that i used to be able to play through quicktime. However in the last few weeks i cannot play many of these files. I can see the videos and click on them but nothing happens (i have version 7.6.9 of quicktime). Does anyone know why this has happened and what i can do about this?

As previously stated, AVI is a file container. It is somewhat old and its originator, Microsoft, dropped official support of it over a decade ago. However, it remains popular with PC users since almost any valid audio and/or video compression format can be stuffed to the file which synchronizes the content by interleaving the individual audio and video frames. The compression format is the specific manner in which the audio and video data are encoded as it is placed in the AVI container. You can find the compression format by inspecting the file in the Finder "Info" window, or in the "Inspector" window of the QT player (or other media player) if the file can be opened.
For instance, one popular compression combination would be to place DivX encoded video and MP3 audio in an AVI file container. However, neither DivX nor MP3 is natively supported by the QT player. (Although iTunes will natively support the MP3 audio.) Therefore, people who wish to play such files in the QT 7 Player would normally install either the DivX component or Perian but not both. Either installation will independently play such files in the QT Player, but if both are installed, the file will usually stop working since these two codecs can create a playback conflict.
However, the AVI container could just as easily contain DV along with DV audio. In this case, the file should play correctly in QT since this compression format is natively supported by the basic component configuration that comes in every current OS installation. Therefore, if such files suddenly stopped playing, this could be an indication that a component has been moved or deleted or that your system or QT embedded structure has become corrupted. -
Compressor error - Failed: Quicktime error 0
I'm sending my FCP sequence directly to Compressor and I'm getting this message after I submit: "Failed: Quicktime error 0". It's a 34 minute sequence. I'm using DVD Best Quality - 90 Minutes as my setting. I've googled this error and I'm seeing some folks suggest that there may be a corrupt file in the FCP sequence. Others say that it may be an insufficient RAM issue (not my issue). My questions:
- Has anyone seen this before? If so, how did you resolve?
- If this is due to a corrupt file, how would I go about finding that corrupt file?

Try cutting your sequence into ten minute segments to narrow down the problem, if indeed it is a corrupt clip or file.
You may also want to post your sequence settings, also do you have any stills in your timeline, if you do are they in RGB color space and not CYMK
