Compressor only yields audio file

I am compressing http://compressor academic 3.0.5 a FCP project and only get an audio file. I am using the same settings I have used for the last year... DVD best quality 120 mins which would normally give me a dolby digital file audio and an MPEG 2.5.0 vid file, plus a batch file.
My DVD burner suddenly is burning DVD's that won't play on the TV, when I asked about this in the forum before I was told to try it in another DVD player...I just did a batch of burning 2 weeks ago and everything was working.
Please any suggestions
catherine

Make certain you set the destination to the same place for both audio and video.
As to "all of a sudden" DVDs are burned that won't play, make certain that you haven't created a HD DVD instead of SD DVD.

  • How do i set up flash player to run only the audio files

How do I set up the flash player to run only audio files?  Every time i set up I tunes to work,, the flash player takes over all files that it wants and I cannont see my files for work.  I want it to only auto run audio files and not my GIF's, & TIFF files.

Well I had a terrible brain burp!,, I ment to say Quick Time.  In my business I have to go back at times and view TIFF files.  Every since I installed ITunes on my new computer...  Quick Time opens the files where MS Photo Viewer used to, and I can only see page 1 in Quick Time.  This is a problem for me as the only way I can view my TIFF files is to save them to my desk top and then open them in MS Photo Viewer.  Then I have to delete them after viewing..  I view files several times a day and this extra step has become a very larg pain in the fanny.

  • Exporting slideshow leaves includes only one audio file, leaves off others

I have a slideshow which is fairly long, and uses several songs from an iTunes playlist. When I play the slideshow in iPhoto, the slideshow works perfectly. However, when I export the slideshow, either by exporting to a Quicktime movie or sending to iDVD, the photos export properly, but only the first audio file from the playlist is included in the slideshow. Therefore, when I play it, either in iDVD or Quicktime, the slideshow has audio until the first song ends, then the slideshow has no audio, and is completely silent.
Is anyone else having this problem, and is there a way around it?
    Brad

    Hi Bradley,
Yes, others are experiencing it and it is a new bug introduced from one of the updates. apple is aware of it and so far no solution has been found.
Only one song exporting with Slideshows
Right now, this seems to be a know problem/bug. There have been some work-arounds. Don't know if the problem is with iPhoto, Quicktime or a combo of both.
-From Bob Worthington: re-ripping the cuts I wanted as background music for the DVD as a single cut in iTunes. I then made a playlist containing the one extended cut of music.
-Old Toad: share to Quicktime from iPhoto and then import the resulting movie into iMovie you can extract and delete the audio from the video and add the two songs to the video and save.
Quicktime Pro-open the movie and bring up the Movie Properties menu window. In the top window select the audio track and delete it.
If you want more than one song you'll have to join them together with iMovie or some other application. Then open that joined file with QT Player. Then do a select all and copy. Now go to the QT window of the movie and select the Edit->Add to Movie menu option. You don't want to scale it because it will change the play speed of the audio unless it's time is exactly the same as the movie.
You could go the other way, open the movie, select all and copy, and then past with scaling to the audio. That will change the speed of the movie and transitions to fit the audio track. In this case the resulting video file will have the name of the audio track file that you started with.
You may have to play with it a bit to get exactly what you want. Be sure to work with copies of all the media files for the project.
-Peter Burtwistle: I opened the Qt movie that iPhoto makes when you export to iDVD and removed the sound track.
Then made a new soundtrack by opening all three songs in QT, then cutting and pasting them together.
Finally use QT Pro's 'Add to Movie" option to add the soundtrack to the original movie.
This worked well and was fast to do too.
-Joe Lombardo: I ended up having to extend the songs by 20 seconds so I brought them all into GarageBand and made some edits. Then I exported them all to iTunes as a single track and used that for the slideshow

  • Only seeing Audio File in AME on Import or Export to Queue from Premiere

    Hello All...
I don't have alot of experience with AME... I"ve exported a sequence from Premiere Pro, Selected setting and added to the Queue in AME... all I see show up once the AME window opens is an Audio File.
When I open a Premiere project directly from AME (using the dropdown menu) I get the same result... I've tried this with a few Premiere Projects. Am I missing a step here???
Also... I'm confused as to why I select all the transcode settings in Premiere Pro when exporting media... and then there are presets again in AME... don't the settings carry over from Premiere's export window?
    Thyanks for any help...

I'm wrestling with this same issue.
I'm on Windows 7using Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.
I'm producing a two disc, dual layer DVD set for 100 families of my son's marching band.
I have a half hour "masterwork" of interviews, performance segments, rehearsal sequences, credits, etc that I've edited together complete with sound, etc.
I also then have various other video segments from the season, some high quality (1920x1080) and some lower quality.
Rather than import everything into Encore and have Encore transcode them all at the same quality, I wanted to ensure that the half-hour piece and certain other segments were transcoded as high quality as possible and given the largest file sizes I could and then transcode other segments as needed so everything would fit on the discs.
The company I'm using to duplicate/replicate the 100 DVDs from my Master DVD advised me to encode them FIRST in Premiere Pro as desired, and THEN import those files into Encore.
I've used Adobe Media Encoder a lot to export the individual segments into files I could upload to Youtube and have had no problem.
    But now, two things happen:
    1) AME automatically designates the "Output File" with an .aac extension
    2) When I do an "Import As" of the AME encoded file in Encore it only loads an audio file (obviously)
    Whassup?
Here are the settings I use in my Export Media dialogue in Premiere Pro CS6:
    Format: MPEG2-DVD
    Preset: NTSC Widescreen High Quality
Output Name (and filetype): ______ name with Save as Type of "Video Files(*.mpg)
BOTH the "Export Video" and "Export Audio" boxes are checked
Filters Tab: left as is, don't do anything here
    Multiplexer Tab:
choose the "DVD" button (vs the "None" button)
Bitrate Type: left as Variable which is what is selected as a default
    Video Tab:
    Codec: Reads MainConcept MPEG Video
Quality: increase it to the max of 5
    TV Standard: NTSC
    Frame Rate: 29.97
    Field Order: None (Progressive)
    Pixel Aspect Ration: Widescreen 16:9
Render at Maximum Depth box checked
Bitrate Encoding: I choose CBR for my high quality segments and VBR 2-pass for my lower quality segments
Bitrate: kick it up to the max for high qulaity segments, adjust as needed to get the filesize I want for my lower quality segments
    Audio Tab:
    Audio Format: Dolby Digital
    Codec: Dolby Digital
Bitrate: At least 320, sometimes higher for the segments I want to be the highest quality
I check the "Use Maximum Render Quality" box
I chose "Queue" for everything and then let it run overnight
So... what am I doing wrong, helpful experts????

  • Compressor creates 0kb audio file

I'm trying to convert a .mov file into a split mpg2-ac3 file for export to DVD pro. Compressor 3 converts the video portion, but creates a 0kb audio file. It does this no matter what the original file is (I tried with various videos, all with the same results, whether .mov or mp4).
The original file plays correctly in Quicktime and FCP, I've created DVDs using Compressor and DVD Pro before...This is a new problem!
I tried trashing the preference file for Compressor, but no difference...
Should I jump out the window now, or is there a solution?
    thanks for any help!

    just tried that and...didn't work.
FCP exported the .wav file to a .AIFC no problem. Compressor tried to turn it into a .ac3 and failed miserably, generating a 0k file again.
As a side note, Quicktime is also unable to generate a sound file from video files. If I try to export just the sound, it creates a .aif file that's 4kb large and cannot be opened by Quicktime ( error -208)
    weird!

  • How do i *only* import audio files?

I want to get every single audio file on my computer into the iTunes library, but I want to skip over all movie files. Can I do this without searching and adding everything manually?

I use a 12 year old computer so the layout may have changed with recent versions. Use Finder > File > Find  Specify the folder or location (e.g., the whole computer) you wish to search, and Kind is Music. You can use the + button to add more criteria such as opened in the last week.

  • Why do my old QT files only play audio on QT X on Lion system

I have some old NTSC (DV/DVCPRO) videos that play well on my old Leopard system but on my new Lion Macbook Pro, only the audio will play.  The video will play from within Finder but when I double click and it launches QT, QT behaves as if its only an audio file.  This is true when I try to import into Final Cut X.  Final Cut shows it as an audio file BUT 2 of the files DO show video.  These are all 720x480 video dumps.  So 7 files show as audio files and 2 work correctly.  And all work fine under Quicktime 7.7 under Leopard 10.5.8.

Please disregard this posting.  I took the old file and ran it thru compressor in a 422 format and now everything works fine and only took about 10 minutes per hour of video.  I don't know how to cancel a request and I'm really pressed for time.  Thank you.

  • Importing HDV files (.m2t) no audio in timeline (or sound gaps in audio file) ONLY IN CS6 !

After importing HDV files, wait for conforming, and drop the files to sequence, on some files there is no audio at all or partial audio.
All files played OK in any mediaplayer.
I have no such problems in CS5 or 5.5 using the same files in the same project and sequence type. HDV 1080i/25
I reinstall PR CS6 and I delete all ".cfa" and ".pek" files, but no success.

All right so what I just discover so far in order to resolve this non sense bug thing, I've exported the faulted sequence in EDL, track by track.
On the original sequence, I had a Prores 422 video clip name "Clip 497" that was manually sync with an audio file call "Audio 10".
At another timecode in the original timeline, I had a h264 clip name "MVI_0050" that was synced with an audio file call "Tascam_0455".
I said that when I select only an audio file in the timeline and I make reveal in the project, it links me to the correct audio file in the bin but when I make match frame or reveal in the finder, it links the audio to a video file. The
Well the EDL just confirmed that, in the timeline created by the EDL, I have to relink manually all the files (wich is a pain in...) and my mysterious audio file "Audio 10" appears with the name "MVI_0050", I can still link it to the original "Audio 10" but I don't understand HOW an audio get to be linked to a video file......
The audio file coming from the Tascam still have their original names in the timeline.
Very weird and not very cool.
Oh  and guess what, after closing Premiere and re open it, my sequence coming from the EDL where I spent 1 hours to manually relink the media....does not have sound anymore.......................

  • MP4 files only streaming audio

    Hi,
We've been running FMS 3 for about 3 months now and someone
just sent me an MP4 encoded video file. THe file plays through
    quicktime locally just fine.
When I load the video to the FMS and test only the audio file
    plays back.

To see H.264 content, you need to play the file with Flash
Player 9,0,115,0 or later. If you're using CS3, the player used for
the test movie environment (Control > Test Movie) doesn't
    support H.264.
To see H.264 content, you also need Flash Media Server 3.5 --
    FMS 3 doesn't know what "mp4:" means.
    Here's an in-depth article about MPEG-4 support:

    Hope that helps,

  • More than one loop in audio file

Please, allow more than one loop in a wave file. This functionality was present in the Adobe Audition 3.0, but it is gone now. The sampler tab is gone from the metadata. Please, bring it back. Even though, the user can set more than one region marker in the wave file, only one of them is internally set to be understood as a loop and there is no way how to set more loops in a wave file. Please add this functionality back into the Audition.

Only one audio file can be used in a Lightroom slideshow.
You'll have to combine multiple songs into a single audio file (e.g. using Audition) then use the single audio file in the Lightroom slideshow.
For more flexibility, you can use commercial software such as ProShow Web, Gold or Producer which comes with a free Lightroom plugin
ProShow Gold - Create Fast and Fun Photo Slideshows
ProShow Web - Instant Photo and Video Slideshows from your Mac or PC

  • Can you splice AUDIO files with QuickTime v10?

    I just upgraded from a G4 (non-intel) Power Book with QT v 7.7, to a new MacBook Pro with QT v 10.1.
My old G4's QT v 7.7 let me edit audio files - stitch and splice using cut and paste.  But QT v10.1 on my new MacBook Pro apparently will only let me "trim" audio clips - the other edit menu functions are grayed out.  So no splicing of two audio clips or removing an internal part of a clip.
HELP says I can use those splicing functions for movie files (I assume that means strictly video), but is silent on audio-file splicing.... which is where my interest lies.
Have I lost that audio editing capability by "upgrading"?    (QTv 7.2 won't run on the MacBook Pro.).  If so, is there another 3rd party app you'd recommend for this purpose?
It's a shame, actually - I was quite pleased with Quicktime as it was.

QuickTime X (version 10 in Snow Leopard and 10.1 in Lion) can only "trim" audio files and the editing features you describe only apply to "videos".
Snow Leopard and Lion users can use two different versions of QuickTime. Version 7.6.6 installs in the Utilities folder and your old Pro registration will enable the editing features you want for audio files.

  • Best way to break up audio files for Captivate?

Hi guys, I have a dilemma here. I am getting ready to record the audio clilps for Captivate and I'm wondering how I should break up the audio.  For example, the first slide has
    First textbox with title "Introduction"
Second textbox with title "Learning Objectives"
Third textbox with "In this lesson you will learn: a) how to do something b) how to define something"
Fourth textbox with "It will take you 5 minutes to complete this lesson"
So, how does Captivate play the audio? Do I record only one audio file for all the text on screen and add the audio to the slide? Or, do I record smaller chunks (for each textbox) and add the audio file to each of the textbox?  In which order will Captivate play the audio? I'm assuming if all the textboxes have separate pieces of audio, Captivate would play those at the same time.
    Thanks

Hi.  My recommendation would be to create one audio file for the slide, then use the timeline if necessary to time the text captions (and other objects) to appear/disappear to match the slide audio.  If you record audio for each text caption, the audio will begin to play as soon as the text caption becomes visable on the slide.  If you have more than one text caption appearing at the same time, both will play their audio at the same time.
    Hope this helps.

  • Itunes doesn´t import and play PCM 5.1 audio files bounced by Logic Pro X

    Hello Evebody!
I use to make many surround mix in logic pro X, and it bounces a PCM 5.1 surround files (.wav)
How I need to organize and Play this mix the itunes should be the best software to do it, however
Itunes don´t reconize this .wav file when I try to drag on its list. The preview by space bar plays the
surround very well the QuickTime as well but Itunes do not accept this kind of file.
If someone knows how to help me with this issue please let me know. I read that itunes accept DTS 5.1 formats
but I want play only the audio file not a movie track.
    Thank´s
    Paulo

Fool Of God, thanks much! I will give this a try. Man, if it's not one thing it's another! I love Apple, but if they keep breaking things, they're going to help Microsoft!
**UPDATE** This work-around did work for me as well, and you're right Fool Of God, makes NO sense at all. The M4A file is 83 MB while the MP3 is only 63. So it has to be a glitch with importing MP3's of any size. Seems that 50MB is the limit. Thanks again, you saved my day!

  • Audio File Size

My Captivate 2 project is 1.7 meg without audio. I have
twelve separate audio files (MP3 format) ranging in size from 42 kb
to 115 kb, but the total size of all audio files is under 1 meg.
After I import the audio, the project file size is 11 meg. Even if
I import only one audio file, the project is still over 9 meg. Is
this what I should expect when importing audio files? Would the
project file be smaller if I recorded audio in Captivate instead of
    using Sound Forge then importing?
    Thank you for your help.
    Philip

    Hi Philip,
I've seen my Captivate project files vary in size greatly -
sometimes by 40MB. I don't know why, but it does seem to be the
nature of the program. Fortunately, the different sizes of projects
don't affect the size of the SWF, which remains the same.
Your project file won't be any smaller/bigger if you record
with Captivate. But don't be surprised to see it 11MB one day, then
the next day see it 9MB or 14MB without doing much of anything to
it. Again, the SWF file won't be affected by the project file size.
    Such has been my experience.

  • PPT 2013 Conversion: WMA Audio Files

    Hello-
I do a number of narrated PowerPoint conversions into SWF-created Captivate files.  With the recent upgrade to PowerPoint 2013 for Microsoft PCs, I've noticed that the narrated audio is no longer being converted on Captivate's end because it is WMA format.  Do you know of any setting within PowerPoint 2013 or Captivate that will allow WMA files to be allowed or converted to a whitelisted format?
    Thanks,
    ~Kyle~

    Hello Kyle,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums!
I am afraid that you can only insert audio files with .wav and.mp3 extensions .
If you want to insert your .wma format files you can use Adobe Media Encoder to convert it to mp3 or .wav.
Adobe Media Encoder gets installed with Captivate.
    Thanks and Regards
