Compressor swapped dominant fields instead of deinterlacing my clip!

I have a movie which was shot with lower field dominant. I exported from FCP7 as self-contained movie, then imported into Compressor 3.5, set deinterlace to Best (Motion Compensated), so the summary showed the output would be Progressive, submitted it, waited nearly 60 hours for it to do the processing, during which time I was asked to add a logo to the end of the movie. Today I imported the finished movie back into Final Cut to append the logo Motion project I had just done, and found out that the movie as finished by Compressor now shows in clip properties to be upper field dominant, instead of progressive!
To check that I hadn't put the wrong movie into Compressor, I have exported a 7 second clip from the original FCP project movie's timeline as a self-contained movie, imported that into Compressor and used my custom preset for deinterlacing it, and that short clip has also been swapped from lower to upper field dominant instead of coming out as a progressive clip.
Now I am completely stumped! I have been using Compressor to deinterlace, so as to get a better result, for a few months, and it has always worked before. I hope somebody with experience is still monitoring these boards, and can set me right here.... PLEASE!

Hi Christina, thanx for replying... my original edit was in DV-PAL, and I asked Compressor to export h.264. I'm deinterlacing because the movie is going onto a website.
As it happens, I have just now got back into the house after a two-hour bike ride, and checked in here, (you hadn't posted at that point) and with a refreshed mind it occurred to me to import the movie (that Compressor finished exporting during the night) back into Compressor to check the field order, and lo and behold, my movie is showing as Progressive in the A/V Attributes tab of the Compressor Inspector!
So my actual problem is "solved", but now I am wondering why FCP tells me that my movie is still interlaced, when Compressor says it is not? I am looking at the Field Dominance column in the browser. I just now went in to the settings for the new sequence I made this morning , (when I was going to tack the logo onto the end of the movie), and changed the field order there to "none", but right clicking on the movie in that timeline and looking at the format under item properties still shows the movie as interlaced.
I've just now since typing the previous paragraph tried deleting the sequence and creating a new empty sequence, and first thing changing the sequence settings to field dominance "none", then deleted the movie from the browser and reimported the file from where Compressor sent it when it had finished with it, (still showed up in the Browser as upper field dominant) and then dropped it in the new timeline: FCP said the clip didn't match the sequence settings, and asked me to change the sequence to match the clip, which I declined to do, and now a red render line is over the clip, so I have told it to render, and it shows that it will take 4 hours to render!
Is the problem that I am importing a h.264 movie into FCP? I know FCP doesn't like h.264 files, as it's not an editable codec, but I would have thought it could analyze it correctly!
I did wonder if this was the right way to go about adding a 6 second Motion project (which I exported from Motion as a Pro Res 4444 clip and then imported into the Browser of FCP, so it's not actually a Motion project anymore but a self-contained file) to the end of my h.264 movie, since I was then going to have to export it as a h.264 file from FCP, and I wasn't sure how it was going to handle the part of the sequence that is already h.264... can you give me any tips on how best to proceed with attaching my logo clip to the end of my finished h.264 movie?
Any ideas/thoughts/knowledge you can bring to bear on this situation?
Thanx again for taking the time to engage with this situation... I'm feeling a bit insecure about my programs here... seems like either Compressor or FCP is behaving oddly.

While not in edit mode:
- if start typing numbers, then it enters number mode.
- if start typing text, then it enters text mode.
Using the arrow keys exits edit mode. So this should work for you:
1 Type text into a cell, which enters text mode.
2 Press Return to move to the next cell.
3 Press right arrow key to exit edit mode.
4 Press left arrow key to get back to the cell.
5 Type a number, which enters number mode.
Another method that requires more planning ahead of time is to format the cells as text or number before starting the data entry. Then when you navigate to a cell while in edit mode, you will be in the appropriate mode (without having to exit edit mode).
This all works fine for me. Hopefullly it does for you also.

Remove custom field instead of default text field

In SharePoint 2007 List include a custom field.
Dont use the custom field again,

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to migrate SharePoint from 2007 to 2013 with managed metadata column. Is it right?
If you need to migrate managed metadata columns, you also need to migrate the Managed Metadata Service application. however, when you use this method, only global terms are available but the local terms are not available.
So, if you used the local terms for the managed metadata column, I suggest you use a third party tool or manually re-create the column in the destination list.

Mail search results show 'to' field instead of 'from' field

Since a couple of days mail in Mountain Lion (10.8.2) shows the 'to' field instead of the 'from' field.
Previously when I performded a search action, the middle collumn showed the 'from' field. So when i perform a search on mails from [email protected] the mails from [email protected] show up in the search results, however it shows the 'to' field. If there are more people in the 'to' field, it shows the first. Does anybody know how to return to the old setting?

I'm seeing the same thing. I didn't change any setting, but it just starting doing this and it's infuriating trying to find stuff.

Chart legend shows database field instead of value

Hi,
I would like to understand the behavior of the charts legend, which sometimes display the field values as requested, but sometimes display the database field name starting with a @.
We develop Crystal Reports and then generate them via an application. We have many releases of our application and therefore we get to work with Crystal versions 10, XI, XIr2 and 2008.
In all cases, the legend display is correct when in the Crystal Reports Designer preview mode. However when generated through our application (using ADO.NET), depending on the Crystal runtime version (apparently) the result varies. Editing the legend label in preview mode doesn't resolve the issue.
Is this behavior related to :
- Crystal Reports runtime (it appears to happen only with Crystal Reports runtimes XIr2 and 2008 in our case) ?
- Using formula fields in the chart instead of database fields directly ?
- Evaluation time (our charts are in Report Header and/or Group Header) ?
- any other idea ?

We have been able to detect that the Language Regional Settings of Windows XP Pro has a direct effect on our charts legend display.
We noticed that when the Regional Settings were set to English, the report would generate correctly and chart legends would display values, and not database fields names. However, when the regional settings are set to another language (tried French, Dutch, Spanish and German) the problem occurs.
Using Process Monitor we have spotted that when in Regional Settings other than English it was still the English dll that were called (crdb_adoplus_res_en.dll)...
The problem occurs with Crystal runtimes XIr2 and 2008 only. We use Crystal Reports in an application, using ADO.NET connector, and we use the Crystal runtime to generate reports.
Is this a bug or is there a workaround to make sure the correct dll are called according to regional settings ?

Mac Mail Address Autofill Leaving Text In Field Instead of Email Address Link

This is a new development that has started occurring since I upgraded to Maverick. When I start typing an address into the address bar, it quickly autofills with the correct address. I used to be able to hit the right arrow for it to enter that address and allow me to add more. Now when I hit the right arrow, it leaves the text in the address line from the autofill, but it isn't formatted as a contact link in a blue bubble. If I press tab it works fine, but then I have to go back each time and click in the address field to continue adding recipients.

Try re-indexing the mailboxes. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.

after fetching you can pass them to the required order into another internal table of the required order.
or define you internal table the way you want the data to come and in select statement it self you can use into corresponding fields to get the data in their respective positions

HP LaserJet Pro 400 prints highlighted text fields, instead of turning off highlights

I have an electronic medical record with highlighted fields which I fill in. When printing, every other printer only prints the text but not the highlighted background. Unfortunately, the HP laserjet prints the gray background. How do I turn that off?

When filling out a field on a form, they keyboard has a Green Enter button that submits the entire form. However, there are multiple fields on the page, and I would like it to tab to the next field. At the very least not submit the form.
Also, is there a way to configure the keyboard that shows up for each html5 input type?

They keyboard that shows up has the large "Green Enter" go button, a backspace and some arrow keys, but no tab button.

For an Exchange Activesync account, how do you get your friendly "Name" to show in the From: field rather than email address ([email protected])?
I seem to be able to do this fro IMAP/POP accounts but not Exchange Activesync.
All the discussions I've found about gmail and Activesync seem to be centered on getting your messages to show a different return email address than your exchange account. I'm not looking for this, just to show the Name.

If you add a contact ("Contacts app>> "+">> enter info) with that email address, it will appear in mail with whatever name you set in the email address' contact.

Paste is only pasting a text field instead of an image copied to the clipboard from another program like mail or safari?

The latest version of Keynote only pastes a blank text field after copying an image to the clipboard in other applications like mail or Safari. The previous version worked fine with copying and pasting images. Saving the image to a file and then inserting the image file is the only work-a-round I have found so far.

To place an image on a slide, use Finder to drag and drop the file onto the slide.

After Firefox 12, some fields in forms in our help desk application do not display correctly. They appear as horizontal scroll fields instead.

We use a Help Desk system at work (BMC Remedy IT Service Management). In version 12 of Firefox, all fields are displayed correctly in the form. However, if I upgrade to any version greater than 12, some of the fields display as horizontal scroll fields (without showing the data in them). As such, I am forced to stay on version 12 for work.

Firstly, thanks again.
For some designers with a minimum of knowledge of scripting this seems a very complicated situation.
We need to help the customer but the investment of time (in this case) sounds excesive.
For many times you wrote detailed scripts and is a shame always asking the same.
Perhaps if now you may provide a bibliographical/internet reference for this situation with examples, perhaps we can solve.
It is like a matrix (?) and perhaps it has a classical formulae.

Executing SSRS using the 'label' field instead of 'value' field

Hi,
We have in house custom SSRS reports built for our clients and each of those reports have a 'label' field and a 'value' field. Now the 'label' field is something that the client sees on the UI as a friendly name. When a client runs the report, it gets executed
against the 'value' field and so I was wondering if there was a way to tell SSRS to execute against 'label' field as oppose to 'value'.

I found the solution!!! By design, SSRS will not convert Label to Values. You will need to write custom code to do this. You need to do the below
a) You need create an instance of
ReportingService2010
rs =
newReportingService2010();
b) Then you need to populate the ParameterValue[] array and populate the 'Name' and 'Value' (here the 'Value' is actually the Label that the client sees on the UI)
c) Assign the following
string report = "[report_path]";
bool forRendering = true;
string historyID = null;
DataSourceCredentials[] credentials = null;
ItemParameter[] parameters = null;
and then call parameters = rs.GetItemParameters(report, historyID, forRendering, values, credentials);
d) The above call gives you the Label-Value pair mappings within the "parameters" object and if you have cascading parameters, you will need to recursively call parameters = rs.GetItemParameters(report, historyID, forRendering, values, credentials); which
will give you the complete set of the Label-Value pair mapping.
e) You then iterate through the above collection and the get the Value for that Label and pass it on to SSRS
I have tested this internally on several reports and it seems to be working. I can now pass in the displayed values to our custom web services and the above steps take care of populating the Label-Value pair mapping and then calling SSRS with the actual
'Value'

Need Help! Accidentally moved fields instead of adding!

I made a mistake when importing and "moved" the files from their original location, into Lightroom instead of "adding" them to lightroom. Now the original files are in lightroom and no longer in their initial location, I need these files to go back to their original folders, arranged the way I had them. Exporting and rearranging them the way I had them would be very tedious and I'm trying to avoid that. Also, when you "move" files into Lightroom, and then "remove" (not delete) them, where do they go? I'm not finding them in the original folders, recycling bin, nowhere. Please help.

Thanks for your help. I was really worried and thought I had lost all my documents, so I brought my ibook to the Apple Care Centre to have them look at it. According to the staff there, I had "corrupted" the software(?). I also had FileVault on,so it took them a while to resolve it. All seems well with my ibook now, but I think I should back up my files. =)
As for the other posting, I am so sorry about it, as I was new to the Discussion, and realised I had posted my question under the wrong discussion group...
I am still trying to get to "know" my ibook, but it's great to know that there's a wonderful support group online!
